This is more me thinking out loud than anything else but I was going over all the clan’s members for the Purebloods, thinking over their strengths and abilities and I started thinking over who were the strongest ones (currently) within the clans and I came up with a list for them. This is not including the original two vampires (Bryony and Dionysus). I guess these are headcanons too, so I’ll tag them accordingly.

Kyoko is the strongest when it comes to just straight power. Her mother called her the Little Pheonix when she was still alive but her flames are such a force to be reckoned with that they are almost on the levels of a god. At the same time, this woman is the the leader of the clans yet she has very little control over her powers. Though she’s gotten far better at it as of late.

Takahashi is the strongest when it comes to catastrophic power. His ability is space, time, and dimensional manipulation. If he uses his powers and makes even the smallest mistake, it could completely upset the balance of the entire world, their dimension or time itself. The smallest of things could cause the end of their dimension as they know it so instead Takahashi will do everything he can to avoid using his powers.

When it comes to simply their combat strength, the strongest would be Emi. Her skills are unrivaled among the clans, everything she does she just seems to have a natural talent for. She has learned every type of fighting style there is and she fights with ferocity yet at the same time has this gracefulness to her that no one else can seem to even get close to. Her ability is telepathy yet it’s not the strongest form of it, her brother having the better part of it than her so she relies more on hand to hand combat for most things.

Then there is the one who has the deadliest power when it comes to their own kind. That would Kaname. His power is more demonic in nature than anything of any of the vampires. Instead of his eyes turning red when he transforms, they grow completely black except for the iris, his fangs are much thicker and longer, strikingly similar to that of a lycanthropes fangs (which is another reason he scares them). His skin will turn black from his fingertips to his forearms, and then over the rest of his body, these black veins will appear all across his pale white skin and one his hands these long claws will form. Both his claws and his fangs are deadly to every single creature he has ever used them on, even the vampires themselves. He has the ability to see in the dark and his eyes will turn gold with the pupils becoming nothing more than slits just like a cat. There isn’t a thing about him that makes them think he is a Pureblood other than the fact that he was born to them and his blood clearly smells of one. Thus making him one of the two vampires the clans fear the most.

Lastly, we have the one with a nearly limitless power. Yuka has the ability to leach someone else’s power simply through touch. Now, usually that’s only a temporary thing but for her it’s permanent. Just the smallest touch and she has already learned a small portion of whatever ability you have. The more often you make contact with her, the stronger that power becomes until it’s strength matches that of your own and can only exceed yours if she actually trains with it. There is no limit to the number of powers she can learn, half the ones she does have at the moment she doesn’t even realize she has them until it’s too late and her emotional instability causes her to lose control of them, the power suddenly appearing out of nowhere. Plus, if she ever decides to try and learn how to properly use the abilities she has learned, the chances of her expanding it past even the one she learned it from are extremely high she just never does. She’s afraid of what happens when she tries to use them so she bottles them up inside of her instead. At the moment, there are at least 35 known abilities that she has, but there are still so many more she hasn’t discovered and so many more she will learn over time.

Rin: Bad Inuyasha Character

Another bad damsel in distress in the Inuyasha series. I never really liked Rin since I've always thought of her as a weak girl who was clingy and obsessed with Sesshomaru. Rin is like a younger version of Kagome except she's not an archer.

Her Character

In the original, rin was an annoying and obnoxious little girl who had a dark past and a major obsession with sesshomaru but in yashahime it was much worst.

For the majority of yashahime, rin was frozen in the tree of ages. In the first season of episode 1, it was a flashback of a manga chapter in the final act. But in episode 15, she lacked character as she let sesshomaru, who just ignored her, take her newly born twins away with no explanation other than it was a rite of courage and cowardice and was completely obedient and okay with it. Suddenly in season 2, she was reverted back to her original annoying character and so on but worse.

In episode 27, I know why rin wants to protect towa and setsuna because she's there mother but she makes this over dramatic and whiny speech as she wants sesshomaru, who is her husband, to kill her to protect them.

When she confronts kirinmaru, she pathetically tries to fight him, someone with no kind of power at all and no combat training is going to take on a very powerful beast king yokai who can instantly kill her as she is all talk and no action.

When rin finally meets towa and setsuna together closely, instead of hugging them immediately she decides to wait not like moe, ms higurashi, and kagome who did despite the circumstances.

Even after zero tried multiple times to kill towa and setsuna and terrorized them, rin still wants to save zero who ended up committing suicide by riku anyway.

2. Appearance and Age

Despite what the creators of yashahime tried to explain through jaken and tree of ages that rin is 18 and later 32, she is actually 15 and later 29.

The true creator, Rumiko Takahashi, explained databooks and interviews that rin was 7-8 years old but disgsting sessrin shippers want to ignore it and agree with yashahime creators.

The timeline of rin's age in order. In inuyasha, rin was 7-8, in the 3 year time skip of the final episode of the final act she is 11, in since then is 11 and 1/2 but yashahime said that 18 years have passed so 11 plus 18 is 29.

Despite yashahime falsely claiming she is 32, majority of the time makes rin look like she was still 11 and sometimes the exact age as towa and setsuna.

3. Marriage

rin's marriage to sesshomaru is creepy and disgusting as he knew her since she was 7-8 years old. Rumiko Takahashi said in interviews and databooks that sesshomaru and rin have a father-daughter relationship. rin should've been with kohaku because they are close in age and have great interactions with each other. The sick reason for the yashahime creators pairing sesshomaru and rin together was because they wanted sesshomaru to have hanyos and rin is the only female that wasn't taken, has some kind of relationship with him, and is alive. They could've made Kaname Kururugi and Janis canon in yashahime and created a story where one of them returned to the feudal era and been with him or created a human female character for him but instead they choose someone that was like a daughter to him.

In yashahime, sesshomaru and rin's relationship is basically the same in the original except rin's is less rebellious and more obedient. rin still calls him 'lord sesshomaru' and doesn't see herself as his equal or even his wife as seen with her conversations with towa and setsuna, she refers to them as 'sesshomaru's daughters' and not both of theirs. sesshomaru doesn't see rin as his wife as he continues to give commands to her like she's a dog.

Ex. ordering her to stay in the tree of ages, him waking and orders her to follow him, orders her to stay and watch closely of him and kirinmaru fight, and in the last episode he orders her to follow him.

sesshomaru doesn't even take care of the towa and setsuna, especially when they were babies as he doesn't even change their diapers and rin just made excuses for him saying 'changing diapers doesn't suit lord sesshomaru' and dumbed her down.

4. Sudden Change

In the yashahime series, rin worried about towa and setsuna and was even willing to sacrifice her life for them in the last episode with a conversations with them she completely changed.

rin was worried about kohaku and kagura but she had said to towa and setsuna 'since they're hanyos she's sure they'll more hardships and they'll be attacked by strange demons just for being the daughters of lord sesshomaru' while being cheerful and laughing.

While kagome, who is majority of the time an awful character, wife, and mother, who worried about moroha and wanted her out of debt immediately.

I’ve always loved skating.

The rink air felt cold against my face, blowing my worries away. When I skate, I can finally be myself. No one’s watching me, and when they do, it’s not me they’re watching, it’s my skating.

I smiled, entering a spin - until I was jolted out of my thoughts by a sudden mouthful of hair.

“Ack!” I recoiled. I stopped and tied my strawberry blonde hair into a ponytail. My aunt says the colour reminds her of hakuto mochi. My aunt hates hakuto mochi.

Hearing some noise, I looked out the window. I saw a group of other kids outside, all of them talking and laughing, sharing snacks and hot cocoa. To me it looked perfect, like something I could never have. I’ve always dreamed of friends, but I don’t think I’ll ever have any. Afterall, you can’t make friends if you never talk.

The next day was a disaster from the moment I woke up.

I blinked awake, and sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes.My alarm clock blinked urgently at me.

Oh no. I can’t be that late already.

I half ran, half stumbled down the hall, and practically fell down the stairs. Grabbing my shoes and a piece of toast I sprinted out the door and off to school. I wasn’t technically late, in fact I was probably on time, but that was the problem. I always like to arrive at school half an hour early because by the time school starts, there’s always a large crowd of students milling about in the corridor. I could bump into someone! Trip! Make a fool out of myself! Or I'd have to talk to people which almost never goes well.

Oh God.

A wall of other kids blocked the entrance to the building. They were all talking, laughing or yelling at each other. Hopefully I could just squeeze my way through without being noticed. Suddenly, just as my confidence rose, the ground slipped beneath my shoes and I crashed into the crowd of students. School supplies flew out of my bag, littering the ground around me with notebooks, and pencils - and the toast I was eating flew out of my mouth.

No, no, no, NO!

People stared and pointed. I could feel judgment radiating from their eyes, as if the walls of people were closing in on me. I felt nauseous. My face burned and my ears rang. Everything moved in slow motion, each second felt like a hundred. I knew most people were probably just looking at me, but it felt like they were stabbing my soul with invisible spears.

“Hey,” a voice came from behind me, “you okay?”

A familiar looking girl stood behind me. She had short brown hair, a red scarf, and surprisingly, didn’t feel hostile or stabby at all.

She stooped down and started to help collect my stuff.

“You really don’t have to do that!” I whispered.

“Yeah, Kyouka, you really don't,” said another girl standing behind her. “The rest of us are heading to class, you’ll be really late if you stay here,” she sniffed.

“Oh you guys go ahead, I can catch up!”

Kyouka’s friends shrugged, each of them giving me a disdainful look. As if I was a dead rat lying at their feet.

“I’m sorry, you don’t have to stay, you should go catch up with them. I think there’s still some time left!” I said.

“It’s really not a big deal!” she smiled. “I think I’ve seen you before. You’re Minako Kaname, right?”

“Um-I-I’m so sorry- it’s Minami,” I stammered, desperately trying not to sound rude.

“Why are you apologizing? I’m the one who got your name wrong. Sorry about that, by the way.” She laughed a little, but it didn’t seem like she was laughing at me.

“I’m Kyouka Takahashi. It’s nice to meet you!” she beamed, putting out her hand.

“I’m Minami Kaname,” I said, shaking her hand rather awkwardly.

“I know!” laughed Kyouka.

I hastily added, “But you don’t have to remember it! No! People have called me Mimi, Madoka, Minori, honestly Minako isn’t even that bad! It’s pretty close to the original actually and if it’s easier to remember, then that’s FINE! I really don’t want to be a bother. I am so, SO sorry!”

“Oh my gosh you’re not a bother! I offered to help you, also are you sure you’re okay?”

That startled me. Most people don’t really want to know how I’m doing, so they never ask. But did Kyouka really want to know or was she just being polite?

“Um, I-” The bell rang, saving me from having to answer. Putting the last slip of paper into my backpack, I stood up.

“Thank you so much for helping me! Have a good day! Bye!” I sprinted across the cobblestones toward the stout brick building.

“See you around, Kaname-chan!” Kyouka called after me before turning around and walking off.

I thought about Kyouka later that day. Most people aren’t like her. They would usually laugh and walk away, but she stayed to help.

I hope it wasn’t too much trouble to help me. Afterall, she was late for class because of me.

But she seemed really kind. It didn’t feel like she was laughing at me. Maybe I could talk to her again. Maybe then I could finally have a friend. Maybe-

“Kaname!” her teacher called.

Shoot! I wasn’t paying attention.

“Um, thirty-six?” I answered.

“This is English class.”

I saw Kyouka in the hall the next morning.

Should I say something?

Then I saw her friends. They were all chatting together and having fun.

She looks busy, so I probably shouldn't disturb her.

This continued for several days. I would arrive at school, spot Kyouka, get too scared to talk to her, and walk away.

It had already been a week, but I just couldn’t find a good time or place to talk to her. Her friends were always around her. I wasn’t really scared of Kyouka, but her friends? They terrified me.

Maybe I’m just not cut out for friends.

I had to focus on my skating a bit more anyway, especially since I had a competition that Saturday. If only I was as confident at making friends as I was on the ice.

Suddenly I got an idea.

If the way I could best express myself was through skating, then that’s exactly what I would do.

The next day, I arrived at school with a box of Pocky and a pack of post-it notes in my bag. Just as class was about to finish, I took out the post-its and wrote an invitation to my competition to Kyouka. At the end of the day, I slipped the note and the box of Pocky sticks into Kyouka’s cubby on the way to school. Even if she didn’t come to my competition, she would at least enjoy the treats.

The day of the competition I was terrified. Not of skating - never of skating. I was terrified about whether or not Kyouka had shown up, what she thought of the note, the possibility that instead of becoming friends with Kyouka, I had just pushed her away.

“Minami Kaname.” a voice came over the loudspeakers.

Okay, I can do this!

I stepped onto the ice. The familiar cold air of the rink and the swooshing sound of my skate blades immediately calmed my nerves.

My solo was going well, I hadn’t missed any of the jumps and didn’t fumble on any of the spins like I’d been afraid of. But when entering my spiral sequence, I was a bit uneasy. The momentum I’d gathered too much, I couldn’t slow down in time for the turn! I swerved away from the wall just as I was about to crash.

That probably lost me most of my points.

Nearing the end of my solo, I skated to the center of the rink, looked up at the audience and swooped into a bow. I’d managed to carve the words “want to be friends?” into the ice during my performance.

Crap! I messed up on the r!

Kyouka hopefully wouldn’t read that as “want to be fiends?”.

I looked back up at the audience, hoping to see Kyouka’s face in the crowd. But she wasn’t anywhere to be seen.

I hope I didn’t scare her away… she probably thinks I’m really weird now. Ugh, why did I have to do that! It was a stupid idea anyway.

Leaving the arena I felt defeated, hollow. My plan, which I really believed in, had failed. Either Kyouka never showed up, or she was so weirded out by me that she ran away.

“Hey!” came a familiar voice. “Where are you going?”

I turned around and was shocked to see Kyouka standing behind me.

“Takahashi!” I exclaimed in surprise. “I thought you left.”

“I wanted to meet you outside the rink but you weren’t there, also, call me Kyouka! I want to be friends with you!”

I was stunned.

“W-what?” I stuttered. “You do?”

“Yeah,” Kyouka said, “I wanted to talk to you before, but just could never find a good time or place. You seemed really quiet, so I didn’t want to freak you out or scare you away. I guess that seems a little silly now that I say it out loud”

She chuckled a little.

“That’s what I was worried about!” I exclaimed and we both burst out laughing at ourselves.

“Wanna hang out at the park tomorrow?” asked Kyouka.

“Really? That’d be awesome! I could bring hot cocoa!”

“Great,” smiled Kyouka, “I’ll bring snacks!”

We both smiled as we walked out of the building, before parting ways at the street.

I waited near the center of the park the next day with hot cocoa, just like we’d agreed on. Snow was falling, weighing down the branches of the cherry trees and blanketing the ground.

Kyouka was already running a little late. As the minutes passed, I started to worry that Kyouka wasn’t going to show up. There was still that tiny part of me that was scared that maybe she had just been polite yesterday, and didn’t actually want to be friends.

Suddenly, Kyouka’s vice rang out across the park, “Minamiii!” she called.

I turned to see her running up the path towards me, a box of treats in hand.

“Sorry for being so late,” she smiled, “there was a long line at the mochi shop.”

She opened the box and retrieved a piece of mochi.

“I wanted to get this kind cause your hair colour kinda looks like hakuto mochi. I love hakuto mochi!”

We sat on a bench for a while, eating mochi and drinking hot chocolate. What I thought would always just be something watched from a distance finally became real for me.

I’m so happy to have a friend.

This was the address he was given. He was surprised his son could get into a complex this nice after rejecting the job offer from his company's branch in Seoul. Fuyuhiko took one last glance down at the apartment number and confirmed it matched with the one on the door before he knocked on it. The older man expected to be greeted by his son when the door swung open, instead he saw a different yet familiar face. Ah, right, this was his daughter-in-law's cousin who he met at the wedding.

"Nice to see you again, Takahashi-kun. Not sure if you remember me, we met at Kaname and Rika's wedding -- Kawaguchi Fuyuhiko, his and Chiaki's father. I apologise for suddenly dropping in, but I haven't been able to get a hold of Chiaki for the last couple of months and I wanted to talk to him while I was in town. I was told this was his address?"

A day to relax. Finally. Satoshi had spent much of the day organising his office with the help of Chiaki, occasionally being interrupted by the black cat that kept climbing all over everything. In a way, though, this was ... fun. Watching the other chase after the cat or just listening to him rambling on about nothing in particular had become somewhat of a comfort from his once silent life.

"I'll get it." The offer was made before Chiaki would even have a chance to question the knock. His sweater sleeves adjusted to remain up at his elbows. He still wasn't too confident but enough so to take these little steps, coming out of his comfort zone. If only he'd known who exactly it was.

"Kawaguchi-san ..." Instantly, he tensed up. Seeing the familiar man and having him instantly speak his reasoning for showing up, Satoshi was stunned for speech for some time before eventually taking a step back. "Y-yes! Come in ..." Shit ... did he know Chiaki and him were living together?

This is more me thinking out loud than anything else but I was going over all the clan's members for the Purebloods, thinking over their strengths and abilities and I started thinking over who were the strongest ones (currently) within the clans and I came up with a list for them. This is not including the original two vampires (Bryony and Dionysus). I guess these are headcanons too, so I’ll tag them accordingly.

Kyoko is the strongest when it comes to just straight power. Her mother called her the Little Pheonix when she was still alive but her flames are such a force to be reckoned with that they are almost on the levels of a god. At the same time, this woman is the next in line to become the leader of the clans yet she has very little control over her powers. One of the many reasons she isolates herself, staying far away from people she can harm.

Takahashi is the strongest when it comes to catastrophic power. His ability is space, time, and dimensional manipulation. If he uses his powers and makes even the smallest mistake, it could completely upset the balance of the entire world, their dimension or time itself. The smallest of things could cause the end of their dimension as they know it so instead Takahashi will do everything he can to avoid using his powers.

When it comes to simply their combat strength, the strongest would be Emi. Her skills are unrivaled among the clans, everything she does she just seems to have a natural talent for. She has learned every type of fighting style there is and she fights with ferocity yet at the same time has this gracefulness to her that no one else can seem to even get close to. Her ability is telepathy yet it’s not the strongest form of it, her brother having the better part of it than her so she relies more on hand to hand combat for most things.

Then there is the one who has the deadliest power when it comes to their own kind. That would Kaname. His power is more demonic in nature than anything of any of the vampires. Instead of his eyes turning red when he transforms, they grow completely black, his fangs are much thicker and longer, strikingly similar to that of a lycanthropes fangs (which is another reason he scares them). His skin will turn black from his fingertips to his forearms, and then over the rest of his body, these black veins will appear all across his pale white skin and one his hands these long claws will form. Both his claws and his fangs are deadly to every single creature he has ever used them on, even the vampires themselves. He has the ability to see in the dark and his eyes will turn gold with the pupils becoming nothing more than slits just like a cat. There isn’t a thing about him that makes them think he is a Pureblood other than the fact that he was born to them and his blood clearly smells of one. Thus making him one of the two vampires the clans fear the most.

Lastly, we have the one with a nearly limitless power. Yuka has the ability to leach someone else power simply through touch. Now, usually that’s only a temporary thing but for her it’s permanent. Just the smallest touch and she has already learned a small portion of whatever ability you have. The more often you make contact with her, the strongest that power becomes until it’s strength matches that of your own. There is no limit to the number of powers she can learn, half the ones she does have at the moment she doesn’t even realize she has them until it’s too late and her emotional instability caused her to lose control of them, the power suddenly appearing out of nowhere. Plus, if she ever decides to try and learn how to properly use the ability she has learned, the chances of her expanding it past even the one she learned it from are extremely high she just never does. She’s afraid of what happens when she tries to use them so she bottles them up inside of her instead. Also, neither her nor the clans really realize what her true power is and just assume she is the only one among their kind that seems to have more than one ability. At the moment, there are at least 35 known abilities that she has, but there are still so many more she hasn’t discovered and so many more she will learn over time.
