🔶🔸MUSHOKU TENSEI: JOBLESS REINCARNATION
youtube
🔶🔸THE DEVIL IS A PART-TIMER
youtube
🔶🔸 FATE/STRANGE FAKE - WHISPERS OF DAWN
youtube
🔶🔸THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS: FOUR KNIGHTS OF THE APOCALYPSE
youtube
🔶🔸 PRETTY GUARDIAN SAILOR MOON COSMOS
youtube
🔶🔸THE GREAT CLERIC
La serie andrà in onda da luglio ed è diretta da Masato Tamagawa (The Genius Prince's Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt).
youtube
🔶🔸THE KINGDOMS OF RUIN
L'adattamento è in produzione presso YOKOHAMA ANIMATION LAB (The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt), dietro alla regia di Keitaro Motonaga (She Professed Herself Pupil of the Wise Man, Digimon Adventure tri).
youtube
🔶🔸 A GIRL & HER GUARD DOG
La serie school romance, basata sullo shojo manga di Hatsuharu (I won’t ever like you, My senpai, Can I Kiss You Every Day?), arriverà in autunno, a partire da ottobre.
In lavorazione presso PROJECT No.9, l'anime ha come regista Nobuhiro Takamoto (Beelzebub, VazzRock the Animation).
youtube
🔶🔸RINKAI!

Musashi Univeristy and Japanese student led tour
I began today with low expectations but it actually ended up being one of my favorites so far. I woke up with barely enough time to get breakfast, and like the rest of my group I have gotten pretty bored of the same breakfast foods from the hotel. So I got my usual bowl of rice with broccoli and sliced turkey? (there’s no label and it’s too ambiguous so I may just call it “poultry”). After eating we all walked to the station and headed on our way to the Musashi University, which is located in Nerima city, Tokyo. The university itself was pretty nice and despite being roughly 100 years old seemed to have been regularly updated to keep up with modern standards.
Walking around the campus was nice, and seeing lots of other students our same age felt pretty good as well. We met Professor Brian Masshardt and he explained a bit about his class, which is “Futures Studies”, which is basically about considering options for the future such as technological advancement, environmental trends and social aspects to explore how people will live and work in the future. After a bit his actual students joined us and we went out to the courtyard to get to know them a bit better. It was awkward at first but they all spoke english really well and were friendly enough. I talked to a guy named Otowa (音羽) and a girl named Rika (りか), both of which were very nice and had impressive english speaking skills, with Otowa having studied for about 15 years - meaning he started when he was 4. After chatting for a while with some of the other students we went back into the classroom and learned about Futures studies and watched some videos, which were pretty insightful and showed me a field of studies that I never even knew existed, though it makes sense as there should definitely be people planning for our future to help drive forward change.
After the class was done we were excused for lunch and went with some of the students to the food trucks on campus where I ordered a garlic butter steak with rice meal, though I have no photos, you can take my word that it was pretty solid. We all went up to a common eating area to have our food and I sat with some of the students who I hadn’t met before, a guy named Hiroki (ひろき), another guy named Koganei (小金井), and a girl named Sana (さな). They were all really nice and Hiroki kept asking us for american slang, and started keeping a list in his notes to add to his english vocabulary which was pretty funny. I also met a girl who was studying abroad from Bulgaria and staying at Musashi university for the semester, she was nice as well and it was cool to meet people from so many different backgrounds, as I would probably not likely run into a Bulgarian in the wild. They all thought it was funny hearing an american accent in real life and mentioned that it sounded like they were hearing a TV show, as that’s the only time they hear english with an american accent as opposed to english as a second language. We finally had to leave and exchanged social medias with them so maybe I will hangout with them when I am back in Tokyo later on in my trip.
After the university visit we headed to Tokyo Central Station, where we met up with some students from a different university who were going to take groups of 3 of us around the station and Roppongi. I was in a group with Noah and Rich, and our guides name was “Hayata” (i think?). He took us around the station for a bit and we got to know each other. The train station was insanely large, it felt as big as an airport and also seemed like a massive underground mall, with lots of stores and restaurants. We then made our way to Roppongi via train and met up with another group consisting of Luke, Griffin and their guide whose name I do not know. We walked around Roppongi for a while and had a good time chatting about random stuff and learning about the university students. We got some drinks at starbucks and then headed back to the Tokyo Central Station where we departed from the guides.
After leaving the station we made our way back to Ochanomizu station, where we then walked about 10 minutes to our hotel to rest for a while. After writing some of my blog and letting my feet rest, some friends and I went to a store called 2nd Street in Kameido. I found out about this store from my friend Noah, after he pulled up to the hotel with a nice clothing haul of many vintage thrifted items for extremely cheap prices. We went today and I got some great outfits and am very happy with the end results.
After shopping, we were hungry and walked around trying to find a place to eat, until we landed on a Gyudon and Karaage place called "Yoshinoya" where I ordered a Cheese Gyudon (チーズ牛丼), a miso soup, and a side 1 piece of Karaage. My food was excellent and I am now a big gyudon enthusiast, though I think I still prefer Matsuya for Gyudon over Yoshinoya. After eating we went back to the station to go to the hotel for the night. Overall I had a great day and loved getting to meet some Japanese students, as well as walk around with my friends and the university guides seeing Tokyo and having a fun time.
Academic Reflection
Before reading the article about Futures Studies, I, like most others had assumed it was a sort of predictive science. In which they would guess about and make educated predictions about how things would be in the future. Though hearing that the future cannot be predicted because “the future” simply does not even exist yet helped me to understand more about what futures studies means. There is essentially nothing to predict, and rather “preferred futures” can be envisioned, implemented, revised, and re-envisioned to find some semblance of how things could possibly look in the future. It was also fascinating to hear that often the most likely future, turns out to be the least likely future. Which sounds like a bit of a contradictory statement but it essentially just means that the more ridiculous and potentially absurd the ideas are the more plausible they could be. Given the current trends with technology and the extremely rapid exponential rate that things are changing, we are really not able to predict anything with any real certainty. Though this is also precisely why Futures Studies does not try to predict anything. In the class today we also learned a bit more about what exactly a utopia is, and if it’s even achieveable. The notion of a “perfect place” where everything is wonderful and everyone is equal seems to be something that cannot be attained given human nature and the circumstances of societal existence. In fact, the word utopia actually originally means “No place”, which directly goes back and solidifies the fact that it’s really just not possible and can only be imagined in fiction.

so i’m back from seeing it today and here are some thoughts. i’ve never seen (or read) saiyuki before and understood about 70% of the plot max. i went partly because of my friend who loves saiyuki and partly because i wanted to see suzuki hiroki in action again. but i must admit i’ve received MUCH MORE than expected.
so, saiyuki gaiden according to me (a person who only glimpsed original manga 20 years ago once):
kanzeon bosatsu: QUEEN GODDES serving charisma uniqueness nerve talent 100% of time! i’m in love with the red dress!
kanzeons little brother aka suzuki hiroki: done with everything, eyeroll tm. accidentally acquired a baby and goes full on “i’ve had him for five seconds but if something happens i’ll kill everyone in this room and then myself”, which is basically the plot.
son goku (accidental baby in question): ray of sunshine, protect at all costs. he’s supposed to be a monkey king who goes for the sutras in the future, but in this time he’s just a sweet sweet baby.
sexy doctor: heavens official with some military rank, who decided that he likes books more than fighting. “smoking is sexy”. idk why he joined the rebellion squad aside from obvious “protect the baby”.
tits out: another heavens official who co-adopted goku. his outfit is great and also he had a thing with sexy doctor, as unsubtle as possible.
dragon general: one day he was just doing his business, then two of his lieutenants (?) decided to rebel against jade emperor, he’s got abducted and almost eaten by the giant puppy (?) all while trying to do his job. i cant imagine the years of therapy he needs now, after his rebellious lieutenant who he tried to arrest pushed him to the side and got eaten by giant puppy in his stead. also: i forgot that sana hiroki is a cutie pie, little sweet pumpkin etc etc. he’s got range, i mean he was decent Kaidoh and fabulous Maraich, but here i really wanted to give him a candy and a stress blanket. in other words another baby, almost got adopted by sexy doctor and tits out, but got away just in time to stay alive.
killing puppet: daddy issues tm. idea is not original at all (re: sailor saturn), but you’d want to adopt him anyway.
all in all i had so much fun watching this! sana and suzuki hiroki did not disappoint, and now i’ll be watching closely the person who played kanzeon.
Saiyuki: Gaiden Kagekiden visuals
Kanzeon is back!
Suzuki Hiroki looking as beautiful as ever
KITAMURA RYO IS NATAKU!!!!
I'M READY TO CRY MY EYES OUT ONCE MORE 😭😭😭

Okay so the promotional cover does not do these actors justice. I have thoughts about this casting but this is in no disrespect to the actors (I think they’re all great especially since I’ve seen some of them before).
Andō Yūto (Suō Hayato), Ishikawa Ryōga (Sakura Haruka) & Yokoyama Kazan (Nirei Akihiko)
It’s my first time hearing of Ando and Yokoyama, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect which leads me to not knowing to feel about their casting. I think Suo’s looks are fine, I’m not really sold on Nirei’s makeup and wig. Yokoyama’s face is already cute (his twitter for reference) and that wig does not do his features justice (nirei’s freckles are not even prominent im crying). Now, how do I feel about Ishikawa being casted for Sakura? He’s not my first pick but honestly I’m not mad about it. I think he looks good in his solo pic. Just the promotional cover threw me tf off. Like he looks great even in his solo pic.
Nakamoto Taiga (Sugishita Kyōtarō) & Takahashi Karin (Tachibana Kotoha)
I also don’t know how to feel about Nakamoto since I never knew of him ‘til now so he might grow on me later on so idk. BUT HOLY SHIT TAKAHASHI! I knew her as Sailor Saturn in the Un Nouveau Voyage musical! This may be a biased take but I like it a lot.
Takahashi Shunichi (Hiragi Tōma) & Sana Hiroki (Umemiya Hajime)
Liking Hiragi’s looks so far, not super familiar with his actor but I do remember him and Choji’s actor being in the Prince of Tennis musical. Tbh with y’all, I already hc Sana as Tsubakino in my mind because he did an amazing job with Maraich Juschenfe from Patalliro! (GUYS PLEASE LOOK HIM UP I BEG OF YOU HES SO FUCKING PRETTY) so I’m a bit disappointed with his casting as Umemiya (that’s cuz of my expectations) but who knows maybe he’ll convince me when the play releases.
Imamaki Hikaru (Tomiyama Chōji), Satonaka Masamichi (Togame Jō) & YUKI (Sako Kōta)
I like how Choji looks and Imamaki is chef’s kisses. Never heard of YUKI before but character appearance wise looks pretty good. Now, how to feel about Satonaka as Togame. I maybe so fucking bias rn because he played (my favorite characters) Bluewer (Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler) and Kyoya (OHSHC) in their respective musicals but hotdamn. Bonus for Satonaka’s voice. Also not my first pick but um I get it behind it. *tucks hair*
Kawano Ryōta (Arima Yukinari) & Chatani Yuta (Kanuma Minoru)
These two are the most familiar faces to me since Kawano was casted for Asahi in Gekidan Haikyuu!! and Chatani was Ojiro in the BNHA stage play. Appearance wise (in terms of similarities to the character and not their overall attractiveness), I like it. They look really good but um Arima’s wig is a little weird (but i’ll give it pass because undercut/buzzcut wigs are hard unless the actor willingly shaves off their hair).
um…
hmm 🤔
#eve babbles#wbk official#wind breaker#wind breaker stage play#LISTEN IDK HOW TO FEEL ABOUT THIS CASTING BECAUSE OF MY BIASES#literally the biggest thing i’m upset about is umemiya#SANA WHY WEREN’T YOU TSUBAKINOOO IM CRYINGGG#at least he’s in it but like huhu 😭😭#feel free to disagree or agree with me
