- when Soda n Pony are sick he'll press their head down to his chest n hum. it's a habit he picked up from his mama n he knows it grounds both of them. plus it's a comfort for him as well. when someone leans against ur chest when u sing u can feel it better in ur own body too.

- he's also just an absent singer. when he's doin busy work or drivin he'll absently start singin or whistlin'. he does it when he's cookin' sometimes but he has to be REAL outta it 'cause if Two's around he'll make a big show of turnin' off the tube or the player 'n shushin' everyone 'n goin' "EVERYONE HUSH DARRY FM IS ON"

- when he's in a particularly good mood he'll sing Two of Us by the beatles n change it to the three of us, tappin the beat absently against Soda n Pony's arms

- Soda n Pony are both heartbeat listeners. Soda not as much as when he was younger but Pony still crawls into bed with Darry after a nightmare n will panic if he can't find Darry's heartbeat in his sleep. Darry has woken up numerous times to Pony frantically pressin' an ear to his chest. He always smooths his hair off his sweaty forehead, wraps the kid up, n sings softly to him. it has the same affect. the low baritones of Darrys voice vibratin against Pony's cheek n soothin him back to sleep

- One night Soda's sick. like real sick. the kind that has Darry runnin his hands up n down his neck til he practically gives himself rug burn. sodas vomitin n hot n cold. shakin n shiverin n so miserable he can't even pretend he's alright. he's half delirious n pressed against Darry, burnin to the touch, n he just manages to croak out can you sing it dar? n darry knows exactly what he means. an old Frank Sinatra song their ma used to sing them to sleep with. n his throat is dry n he's tracin absent, scared circles along sodas collar bone n clutchin him tight but he opens his mouth n presses Soda to his chest n sings.

- He sings Beautiful Boy to Pony n changes Daddy to brother (the monsters gone/ he's on the run/ n ur brothers here)

- I know it doesn't line up timeline wise but I'm ignorin it temporarily cause Darry would sing little willow by Paul McCartney to Pony all the goddamn time. He's holdin him, Pony's body still small in childhood n Darry's acutely aware it won't last. That his kid brothers growin up. n he's got him tucked up in his lap, crashed in the armchair cause he swore he wasn't tired but then Darry's rockin him a lil n he should protest cause he ain't a kid no more but then Darry starts in on bend little willow, winds gonna blow you, hard n cold tonight n his eyes are just so heavy. n maybe he doesn't mind lettin his older brother hold him. OK I'll bite, I wanna know more about the Roleswap AU

so i know i begged people to ask about my AU but i’m still really happy you sent this in so thank you!

• Basically the plot of this story is after the events of the manga Vio attempts to bring Shadow back, with very little success.

• He tries method after method until he comes across a forbidden ritual that allows you to bend reality to an extent, this isn’t the triforce however, so doing so has a price (is there some sinister force behind this ritual that decides the price? perhaps).

• This means that when Vio wishes for Shadow to be free of the Dark World and live among them he ends up taking Shadow’s place instead, being transported there. He tries not to panic, figuring he can get himself out of this, and when the others realize he’s missing they’ll come to help right?

• However that’s not what happens.

• Shadow wakes up suddenly in a soft and warm bed, the curtains in the room drawn and letting very little of the morning sun drift in through the cracks.

• He’s a little disoriented, but as he gets up he starts to remember: he’s one of the four heroes of hyrule, they defeated Vaati and now they’ve all gone back to their lives as knights of hyrule. Yeah that sounds right.

• Everything seems fine for a few days until eventually he starts to have dreams he can never recall, but that leaves him feeling empty and anxious. Something was missing, out of place, but he never knows what.

• And it chases him, that feeling. Whenever he’d train in their private grounds and would find old dummies with arrow holes despite none of them having ever used a bow. Whenever he’d pass by the library, the old librarian would ask him in that shaky voice of hers when his friend would be coming over again. And even when he’s in his room and he’ll find old papers and vials he never remembers collecting in the first place.

• And worst of all is his weird reaction to the color purple, all of their reactions really. Last time Shadow had tried to wear the purple scarf Zelda knit him it had made the tension in the room incredibly awkward. They laughed it off as it not being his color but he could see it in their eyes: the confusion, the pain, they felt the same as him. Shadow had put the scarf in his drawer since then, but anytime he sees something– anything– of that damned color it's like a stab to the heart.

• It takes a few weeks, maybe months, all throughout where Vio tries to reach for him, trying to make him remember to no avail. Until eventually it all clicks and Shadow knows what’s wrong… this isn’t his life, its Vio’s life, and they’ve somehow swapped.

• At this point though its too late, because the longer Vio spent in the Dark World the more he starts to get poisoned by it, the magic he used trying to bring balance by turning him into the monster Shadow used to be. Until eventually he too forgets who he was and plays the role of the villain that was defeated by the heroes and now wants revenge.

• It takes a lot but Shadow does manage to find Vio, using his old notes still in his room to create window into the Dark World, but this time there’s someone on the other side who’s powerful enough to get out. So out comes Vio, newly reborn and taunting the heroes who defeated him, but now he’s stronger, he has more power and he’ll kill them all for what they’ve done.

• Vio’s usage of dark magic is much different than Shadow’s, he breaks them all down psychologically, forcing them into trances and hallucinations that have them fighting each other, but Shadow knows these tricks, grew up with them, so he breaks free and tells Vio to remember, to go back to being the hero he was.

• Vio laughs at the prospect and asks why he would ever trust a word he says ever again? However their encounter is cut short by Zelda and the maidens who drive him away, which leads to many questions like “is this what you were working on? reviving one of our foes we almost lost to when fighting Vaati and Ganon?”

• Shadow pleads, hoping maybe at least Zelda remembers, but she doesn’t, it must be Violet tampering with his memories. He’s a master of mind manipulation, you can never be too careful with him.

Randall is NEITHER a Sweet woowoo misunderstood baby NOR is he a completely Heartless and soulless demonic creature with 0 feelings?

Like even in Monster's at Work we can see that Yes. He's definitely an awful person who has done terrible things and is still out to go do more terrible things BUT we also can see he has shown to be genuinely grateful to Johnny for saving his life and actually considered Johnny to be his Best Friend (even if it was completely one-sided on his part)

yesss randall is definitely not one or the other for me

i LOVE randall but i do not see him as a sweet misunderstood baby. he has done so much awful things and as of now shows no sign of remorse. it's supposedly been 20 years since college and he's only gotten more bitter over the years; far from who he was at the beginning of college. it's unfortunate that he got mixed up in the wrong crowd, but every bad choice he's made was his choice to make. also i feel like some people forget just how messed up his plan with the scream extractor in mi was, not to mention his sadistic and murderous desires (if randall was visible during his fight with sulley it would NOT be family friendly 💀)

but he isn't doing what he's doing just for the sake of being evil, yes he's mean, but at his core, it's just that randall will go through great lengths to get what he wants, to get the recognition he craves so much, and most especially, to one up sulley. his mindset was warped by ror, which changed his life forever. monsters university fleshed out this part of randall's character, as it provided context on why he’s the way he is, and gives a different meaning to his words, actions and intentions.

though i felt randall and johnny's best friendship was random considering what happened in mu, it was an interesting change of pace to see post mu randall actually like someone. randall mentioned that he owed johnny one, but i feel like they still genuinely enjoyed each other's company. like you can see that randall and johnny actually have a connection that isn't just strictly business, unlike randall and waternoose.

i do think that part of randall also still craves johnny's attention like he did in mu. considering he's been wanting to get in with the “cool kids” since literally day one of university suggests he's been wanting recognition and status for a very long time. and with johnny still having power and status as the ceo of fear co., i feel like randall would've still wanted to work with him despite what happened in mu.

i feel that even post uni randall still feels a need to impress johnny. like when he scares tylor, it seems like he immediately looks to johnny for his reaction and approval. then, he makes a joke at chet's expense, and after, goes to stand by johnny's side. with chet being johnny's former right-hand man, it makes sense why randall takes digs at him

i imagined that sometime in university, randall said something mean to chet and johnny found it funny, so he kept doing it for his attention (like the chet-wetter thing) and even now, he still brings it up and likely says and does other mean things to chet to raise himself up and put chet down

i would've liked to think that randall narrating johnny as his “best friend joined at the hip” could've just been something he made up for his own sake, but since maw johnny seems to actually neglect chet in favour of randall, i guess the writers just decided randall would actually just be his bestie moving forward (though i think leaning into the other concept would've been cool)

would randall feel like johnny was just using him, perhaps like he did in university? maybe. but perhaps he'll take a false sense of love and acceptance over nothing

though i don't think randall would've stuck around unless it benefited him, and that proves to be true when randall abandoned johnny after he got jailed lol, with johnny not being in a place of power anymore, he's useless to him now

now that randall is on his own, i want to see him work solely for himself, by himself. not under anyone, no boss, no more with being a follower. unless some other random monster shows up or they bring back waternoose or something, randall is very likely going to be the main villain of the next season, and this could be an opportunity to see more of his personality, especially since we still have yet to see randall interact with mike and sulley

maybe he could show a shred of regret, acknowledge the weight of his actions, or how much he's changed, but still show that he's gone too far now to go back to how he was. maybe he hates who he was before. or maybe he hates who he is now. but he's done too much and worked too hard to just accept that he's lost and go back to how he used to be

maybe mike could say something along the lines of "what happened to you, randall? what happened to the nice, friendly guy i knew in university?" and randall could be like "the guy who was naive? the guy who was insecure? the guy who was nothing more than second best? that guy is gone wazowski. long gone."

or maybe randall could tell sulley how he genuinely feels about him, and how much he was affected by always being in his shadow. perhaps sulley could acknowledge his skills and say that he could turn things around and do great things at the factory, and randall could laugh at the idea and say some stuff like "work together? under your management? what a joke. i don't think so. i'm not standing in your shadow, sullivan. not anymore."

idk lol but i think it would be cool to give randall some kind of scene that acknowledges his past or makes you sympathize with him a bit but not excuse his actions, or something to make the audience reflect on how tragic his character is or what could've been. i'd also like if he went as hard as he did when he nearly pushed sulley off the door to his death, especially considering the position sulley is in now

mu's existence changed and fleshed out randall's character (even if he didn't have as much scenes as he could've) and i would love to see this show do the same. except tylor is the main character and the show focuses more on mift; even mike and sulley aren't really the focus so i don't think they'd put that much emphasis on randall (but i'd love to be proved wrong)

for the record, though i currently think randall is in a state where he's far from redemption, i'm not completely closed off to the idea as long as it's in character and written well. though no offense but idk if maw/disney could actually manage to pull that off lol. whatever happens i just hope they do his character justice at least 🙏

More Kurt clothing discussion please

i'm gonna break out my personal notes/observations of kurt's fashion sense for you:

knee-length shorts combined with knee high boots/socks is a very common combination for him, mostly in season 1-2

layers! it's a fun ongoing joke because it's ever so true (for the first four seasons...) if you want to make your fanart kurt outfit more kurt-ish, just keep dressing him up. and if you want to make a fanart kurt outfit that he would wear in season 6, just imagine literally any guy ever walking down the street that blends into his surroundings.

aside from the one line of knee between the knee high socks/boots and knee length shorts and the occassional unbuttoned shirt that may let you peek at his collarbones, the most naked he will get is showing off his forearm (but he does wear a very short short in a katy or a gaga with ankle length doc martens... i'm pretty sure that's the most he has shown of his skin in an outfit)

there is always some concept behind his outfits, most of the time it's a theme, but there are ones where its unified by texture/color or the contrast between them.

in his dalton arc, he tries very hard to match/mirror blaine

death imagery is a recurring theme, which is almost expected for a character who is so defined by death

he rarely if ever wears women's clothing that is meant to look flattering only on feminine bodies, so nothing that would enhance curves, for example.

the most unconventional and feminine piece of clothing he wears in earnest is the skirt in britney/brittany but that seems to be worn over pants as well (maybe leggings?) and he does seem interested in the pumps sue got for unique in saturday nigh glee-ver, though i'm not sure if he would want to wear it himself or just have it in his possession, since he is very crow-like with his affinity for collecting whatever sparks interest like the white suit from the same episode.

i desperately want to see the corset he allegedly wore to second period in acafellas... but i kind of assume it's actually a shirt with a lace up back, similar to the vest in i am unicorn in the scene where he first sees the campaign posters designed by brittany

the only kind of headpiece he usually wears are hats, so no hair pins or headbands like rachel's, but he does wear sweatbands when working out. he also wore a bandana a couple times as well, like in wheels.

i don't know where else to put this, but i love his little yellow coat + rainboots from nbk, especially because it does look like an outfit for the rain, which fits well with the overall theme of that episode and the need to survive it like a rainy day... idk... i like it...

Yes yes yes!! I love this reading haha their relationship is probably the one that I want to feel the most like fate. Like, not for every MC of course, but for a MC with feelings for Jay...they saved your life. The two characters are connected, one way or another. Throw feelings in the mix and it very well might feel like destiny.

I'm also beyond excited to explore those things. Much to think about for Jay and MC...many decisions to be made...

I think the toxic yuri polycule height chart is something like this—!

They all wear heels so it’s not exact (also I whipped this up in like 5 minutes lol)

Huifen is tall, she’s a black heron after all, and though they’re not the tallest birds ever they’re still pretty long! But she looks short standing next to Beakley, because everyone does (also I undersized her a little bit in my first human drawing by accident, whoops). Goldie is a short queen LMAO, she’s not minuscule, only slightly shorter than the average person, but she looks tiny next to these two (she might be slightly shorter than I drew her here, idk, I struggled to scale her LOL). Scrooge, for the record, is around the same height as Goldie!

In terms of their builds btw, Beakley is, obviously, very muscular! Though she might seem like a tank, she’s actually very soft — big ol squishy teddy bear! Heron on the other hand is a gangly mf, long, skinny, and sharp. Goldie is sort of in between them, an hourglass build like Huifen, but with more muscle on her (not half as much as Beakley, though).

Heron might not be tiny but Beakley treats her like she is, picks her up like a feral cat when she’s being too much 😌 Scrooge and Goldie only have a very slight height difference, but I think he’s very smug about it lol

Also, my funniest headcanon ever is that Beakley has a thing for bad girls, and she HATES IT. She’s so embarrassed about it and fully intends to take it to her grave. This also leads to her hating the aforementioned bad girls even more, bc she’s so frustrated with herself for liking the in the first place. So Beakley can spend 24 hours a day ranting about how much she hates someone, and be blushing the entire time. All this to say, Beakley might not technically have a leg to stand on when it comes to criticising Scrooge’s relationship, but that doesn’t stop her.

I think they’re both massive hypocrites about it, bc they wanna protect eachother despite the other really not needing the help. They’re also endlessly frustrated with eachother’s toxic Yuri partners. Beakley to a much bigger degree because she definitely has a thing for Goldie, which only makes her hate her even more. Scrooge is more annoyed by Beakley and Heron than anything else bc he just does not understand what the hell is going on there, but he’ll also occasionally be all,

In conclusion, Beakley and Scrooge being a disaster sibling duo is my favourite thing ever. Scrooge is practically immortal, nothing can take him down. Beakley is a walking tank, she could walk off a bullet. They looked at eachother and went “that idiot needs me to protect them from their own love life” and they were kind of right??

HAHAHAH OMG i never expected anybody to actually ask me this.. i love when people ask me stuff here tysm😅😅💙sorry if this is an insane rant, my memory betrays me sometimes so some things may be vague!!

just like how my girlfriend @coastyreef explained in their own post abt a similar topic (this but harumi) nya has grown and shaped into her gender identity basically just like i have as i’ve grown up. believe it or not, i used to HATE nya. everyone in the early ninjago fandom saw him as this “in the way of my gay relationships” character, and that her treatment of jay was horrible, (i could get INTO it abt that actually…. but you’ve probably heard that a few times before) basically a bunch of honestly misogynistic things in the early fandom that made me shy away from openly relating and liking her — so i sorta ran with liking jay a lot more until “recently” (aka a few years ago.. oldhead ninjago fan lol) i mean, my name sparky is literally because of jay so i have to give her some credit🙄

ninjago was and still is a way for me to process my own experiences and look at them from a different angle. ive always struggled with my gender identity/presentation growing up; i have PCOS and i was born with more masculine features then feminine, so in school i’d always be made fun of my body hair and features. i used to really want to be girly, it was a constant battle of myself between being a tomboy or a “girly girl” that continued up until middle school. i was considered dirty and rough, but also weak and annoying because i was a “girl”, so no amounts of masking and faking stereotypical femininity really changed much in my school days. (i remember my INSANE cutesy girly phase in middle school… man that was so embarrassing HAHAH)

i believe around the same time as coast, i was questioning myself too. i went by any pronouns, most notably they/them was at the front of it. i remember a year before this, i had a vulnerable moment with my chest and crying to coast about how i dont feel like a girl and i hate my boobs. which lead into coast saying “hey, we can try he/him pronouns on you and see if you like it!” i instantly retreated in fear because it was a big change that 12-13 year old sparky wasn’t entirely against, but wasnt ready to confront that part of himself. anyways, a year later i’m any pronouns queen, and im warming up to being more open to liking nya and relating to her, but im still considered and seen by others as jay reincarnate. twisted limerence, me and baes first fan season was a sort of catalyst for both of us, and waterjade as a whole was as well DEFINITELY. i mean, that ship since basically d1 was a reflection of our relationship and ourselves in the characters! it only made sense. it was just an insanely slow brewing process honestly

a lot of my own headcanons and musing for nya was internalized and kept under wraps in my own mind, i just coasted along with what coast thought up, or they would force (coax) my ideas out of me, or sometimes even if i was feeling vulnerable enough, (or manic with little to no restraint of my thoughts back then) i’d shyly share some of my headcanons for nya and hope for acceptance.. which i always got, which made me mosey up more confidence with each talk and thought. nyas presentation back then was still feminine af, the personalization laid in the pronouns and genderfluid flag (photos below of my old art.. how i used to draw her heh eww ok ive improved ok..) and the growing fat on her body, because nya being fat made me accept my own fatness/have a more body positive image!

nyas pronouns becoming from she/her to she/he/they was a secret catharsis for me, and as time went on and the he pronoun moved up and the they pronoun eventually left the picture, soon i followed suit. honestly i used to be a little followerish, when coasty began embracing the nonbinary label, i labeled myself as nonbinary too as a sort of starter, because i liked what the label meant and i felt like i related. but quickly, i realized i was mistaken. i still felt out of place, not properly understood of myself, and just plain confused. they/them pronouns never really cut it for me, in fact it annoyed me that people usually referred to me with she/they pronouns, but i buried it because i didnt really know what else i could do. transness and identity has always been complex for me, it was a chasm to move from cis to nonbinary alone. how could i be anything more then just a girl playing dressup with masculine clothes?

one day, at the end of pride month i remember.. i officially came out as genderfluid. it was just a quick post on my story on insta changing my pronouns to HE/it/they + a bunch of neos (some i still have to this day) and having genderfluid in my bio instead of nonbinary. i felt like i was starting to understand myself more, and even though it seemed short and simple to post abt it once, it felt like a huge step to me. early teenage sparky was finally getting somewhere!

this is where time gets testy for me, but i believe me and coastys gender journeys were aligned for the most part, i was just more internalized about it. nya was becoming less feminine and more masculine in appearance, he was gaining more fat and muscles, and spiky, shorter hair. i think the fact our perception of nya didnt align much with the fandoms perception (either a chapstick lesbian with flowy long hair and makeup or the 000.1% who hc’d him as transmasc, but not the way our nya was) made me resonate with her more. at this point in highschool im #1 nya relater, which actually caused me some problems believe it or not. when i became open about liking him to the point of him being my muse i was pushed back into keeping it to myself because 2020-2022 (kin)stagram was SOOO crazy 😅😅but hey im out of that cesspool now as you can see! i still remember the day i changed my name from solely sparky to nya/sparky. it felt so right to take a name thats also a part of my culture (nya is a name that has irish roots, it is also samoan! fun fact!) and that came from my favorite character.

i also struggled with my sexuality and channeled that through nya. for a long time, even when i was in elementary school i called myself bisexual. even though i never really actually liked men all that much, not enough to pursue a romantic relationship with them… or well.. anybody (i tried in the name of conformity and “femininity”) i didnt really like ANYBODY until coast. my emotions have always been restrained and not felt so normally, so i thought romance was like every other emotion: dull and heavily repressed with no way of expressing it. until, again i got with coast HAHAH. i figured out right away through coast that i was on the demi-aroace spectrum but i kept the bisexual label until i guess recently! nya definitely went through the same thing for the sake of convenience in his eyes.

oh but the gender labels and identity didnt stop at just highschool, recently, in my first year of graduating i confronted some deeply repressed parts of myself, and before it was put onto me it was put onto nya. i had a secret headcanon brewing.. something i kept from coast until an explosion of a trend on tiktok… i … headcanoned nya.. as a BUTCH!!!!!!!!!! i felt like the label butch was fitting for him, i was fascinated with the talk and the labels and the history of queerness and lesbianism, but i felt like i didnt belong there at all. i felt so guilty for loving the label butch so much, i just kept it to myself and nya.. my forever muse. coasty, just like they always had, supported me and coaxed that part of myself out of me into the open. they accepted me when i said “hey… what if…. i said nyas a butch…” they even accepted me when i said in a hypomanic episode “kratos from god of war is a butch and has pcos, thats why he has a beard!!” (ty bae) this just goes to show that acceptance goes a long way, and having a character you relate to so deeply does too!!

nyas canonical journey of becoming a ninja and finding her identity feels so much like my own. that scared me when i was younger, but now i feel seen and like hes my number one character. he’s basically exactly like me, the only difference is muscles and race bc im a white boy and i need to hit the gym😅 and im happy to finally be able to publicly say that! for a long time i felt like my identity wasnt mine to own, that everyone else dictated who i was.. but now i can confidently say my identity belongs to me. the power of choosing for myself means a lot to me. now i can say im nya and he is a punk riot grrrl butch who has PCOS and……… a secret third option.. (im still kinda shy to talk about headcanons abt mental health and more personal parts of myself i was born with HAHAH.. maybe i will soon though if asked) nya has definitely helped jay with her own gender journey too, i actually have a whole headcanon storyline for that lol!!!!! but yeah anyways this has been long enough… ty for asking! i loveee asks i love ranting secretly😅😅💙💙

Thank you so much for this ask! This time I'll talk about Naureth. Her aesthetic is gothic knight kind of deal. I love her and I hate her. People who criticize the circle fail to understand that it was literally a cult! A cult! To form a cult, you need a very charismatic leader, people who are kinda lost or insecure, and for the leader to perform some sort of “miracle.” Every box checks out. Valentine targeted each member: people who had all had difficult upbringings or suffered a lot of loss.

Luke was a weak student and insecure AND his mom literally left him and amatis to become an iron sister

Celine was heavily abused by her parents (they would literally put her in the basement or she would run away from home)

Robert had an abusive dad with too much shadowhunter pride and couldn’t bear marks, making him feel like a disappointment

Stephen’s mom was Imogen and she was probably a crazy helicopter parent

and etc etc with each member

In Jocelyn’s case, I don’t think she had any crazy trauma and we know she wasn’t drawn to Valentine until his parents died. I think she fell for the I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can) phenomenon and I’m sure Valentine was pretty great to her at first. He’s an intelligent sociopath (probably from his own extreme childhood trauma) and knew what to do to make her fall in love with him, the way he did with everyone else. You can’t blame a teenage girl for falling for that act. Her staying with him definitely came from fear. Valentine is a dangerous guy and she knew that- why else would she continue sleeping with him even after he clearly poisoned their first born? There was a lot of fear there and I don’t think you could blame her at all. She was stuck in an abusive relationship.

I think that’s the case for everyone else in the circle i.e. they were stuck in this abusive relationship that they were too afraid to leave because they knew how scary Valentine could be, the horrific things he could do. Sometimes when you’re stuck in an abusive bubble, you don’t really realize how bad things are but it’s also hard to take a step back to see the bigger picture. That’s why the surviving members of the circle in NY hated Valentine.

And to add to Celine’s defense, she was definitely selfish at times, I agree. However, when you grow up in such uncertainty and lack of love, I think it drives some people to kinda do anything to get that, even if it means ending a marriage. She was finally getting everything that she never had before the circle and I think she couldn’t hold herself back. If she survived and raised Jace, I don’t think she would have been the best mother. She would probably be very immature BUT that speaks to the amount of abuse and lack of childhood she had. And you are so right: she never got a chance to escape that abuse!!! Also I just want to add: being 17, her prefrontal cortex was not fully developed and was probably stunted from the crazy stuff she went through at home

100% agree with you on the circle members. I think it’s interesting case for them because a lot of them definitely agreed with Valentine at some point, but than they had kids of there own and they grew up and they realised how crazy he actually was! But they were too scared to leave and stay for the post part.

Also I’m glad you agree about Céline! I agree that she wouldn’t have been the best mother to Jace (lack of support system, she’s like 19). But I do think she would have loved Jace so dearly!

And I’m glad you pointed out that 17 is still objectively a kid. While 18 is legally an adult, you’re still young have a lot to learn. I always hate how people act like when your still a teenager that you make the best decisions, especially as people who have been abused endlessly there entire lives.

dude i just had the fuckin camp interaction where dutch tells sean to cheer up i need your thoughts because i am LIVID

oh my god that sends me CRAZY

ok so first things first dutch expects sean to be the camp clown, to present everything as fine and dandy by showing he is not worried about the situation he is trying to hide. we already know sean is pretty worried, by having two interactions, this one and one with hosea, where he questions if the gang is going to be okay, along with having his own doubts in chapter 3 of the whole greys plan. making sean hide his worries and problems because they would be an inconvenience to dutch and, in his eyes, cause a stir in camp, is extremely inhumane. its the firm way that dutch tells him to cheer up, more like a command than actual comfort. “i need you cheerful” now if that isnt proving that sean had been taking the role of camp clown for so long that its being forced upon him, i dont know what will.

second of all, dutch is completely disregarding everything that sean was put through by the bounty hunters. for someone who tries to be progressive for those times, he doesnt even allow sean to have days where he’s miserable or in pain. again, all that matters to dutch? hiding his own doubts. pretending it’s all okay to the gang until he simply can’t hide it anymore. to say he doesn’t care about what sean went through is too far, but im yet to see any evidence to say otherwise. i wouldn’t say he doesn’t care, more doesn’t acknowledge.

third of all, sean has been so miserable that dutch noticed. would dutch be watching for his misery? is it another thing on his internal check-list to keep the camp going? or was sean so unhappy from what he’d been through, or even something that had happened that day, it was obvious and inevitable someone would say something? dutch tries to make sean cheerful again by saying it’s going to be okay, automatically assuming thats whats got him miserable. that speaks volumes to me, that dutch is worried himself about the situation of the gang and is actively projecting that onto others. sean saying “i know sir” might even imply he’s not miserable about that.

finally, sean might not have been upset at all. “im real cheerful, sir.” obviously this quote isnt true, but he might not have even been particularly upset that day. its like when you’re not thinking about much, and you’re not smiling, but you’re also not upset. to sean, he could be doing this without even thinking about it. but dutch, almost like he’d been watching, picked up that something was wrong with sean. just because he wasn’t laughing, smiling, or teasing others. i feel quite bad for sean if every time he tries to sean he isnt buzzing, he’s at risk of being hounded by dutch.

What type of Halloween costumes would the Ro's wear? Also what type would they like to see Mc in?

Beck- my heart is saying werewolf or pirate. Something that makes them feel cool and badass. But my heart is also telling me they don't have the patience to get complicated with it lmao so maybe just a shirt that says 'costume'. And they'd love to see MC in a 'sexy' Halloween costume it would take them out. But they'd also be surprisingly flustered by something that's just like...really cute.

Croft- used to be really into Halloween--like, spending an obscene amount of money on a costume, decorate their house to an incredible level, that sort of thing. Has lost the spirit now that they're living in Hell Town, but still dresses up. A vampire, probably. And they'd like to see MC be something scary, despite their hang-ups. They'd find it sexy c:

Jay- something fun but not like...super involved. I could see a cowboy/girl or a knight (not in full armor though. just like. has a sword). Something they could take off pretty easy if they had to. And they'd be very charmed if MC got really into it. Honestly would probably ask MC to come up with a couple's costume, if they wanted.

Perri- definitely goes all-out, and definitely cryptid/supernatural themed. They have a brand to uphold, after all. I think they'd absolutely kill a mothman costume. And they'd love to see MC also in something cryptid-y, but are open to anything. Would get all blushy and flustered if MC dressed in a sexy costume.

Ravi- doesn't dress up, really. Could maybe be persuaded but would probably just go as like. A sheet ghost or a skeleton or something very basic. A pair of cat ears and his usual outfit lol. Doesn't really care what MC wears--would find them cute in anything!

Yasmin- something that lets her be a bit over the top, probably book-inspired. I'm thinking Queen of Hearts. She'd looooove a couple's costume, so something also Alice-y would be fun. Mad Hatter or Knave of Hearts, maybe? She enjoys a chance to be Extra and get really dressed up.
