The Mario franchise of video games is the only series I've ever seen where the franchise's creator is also it's worst writer. Any time Miyamoto is given full creative control over a Mario game its the same bland cookie cutter vanilla shit over and over again. That's how we had that NSMB oversaturation era, that's how Paper Mario got ruined, that's how Paper Jam became so bland and led to Alphadream going bankrupt, and it's also why Mario Kart 8 almost didn't have guest racers… The sudden resurgence of Mario games being creative again has led me to believe that Miyamoto has been kidnapped and locked in some basement somewhere, and is now replaced with a clone. SMB Wonder, SMRPG Remake, TTYD Remake, and M&L Brothership all contradict this man's stupid-ass mandates.

Why do theses direct have to be so good recently ? It's too good !

Like, PAPER MARIO TTYD REMAKE !! Guys it's happening ! The gasp I made when I saw it, jus the first two notes of the beginning theme, loved that game ! And now, it's beautiful in HD, I looove it.

This, and we got Mario RPG's remake that looking pretty nice, the Mario vs Donkey Kong, the final booster pass that added more character than that what I expected, the Luigi's Mansion 2 HD, and finally that Princess Peach game !! I mean, it does look pretty easy and accessible to everyone, but that aside, what a charming game this look.

In short, I'm really hyped and happy.

This truly is the best timeline for video games. Even with all the garbage going on it's truly such a time to be alive. We get the Mario movie,with a sequel confirmed to be a few years down the road. We get 3 Sonic movies,with Shadow Reeves. We get remakes/remasters of some of the best Mario games from when I was a kid,& even when I was a little kid who didn't know about video games,like Super Mario RPG,Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door,& Luigi's Mansion 2. We get a remaster of Sonic Generations,not only one of the best Sonic games but with an entirely new story for Shadow,who has largely been ignored the good part of two decades. We get The Year of Shadow,& it looks very promising. We get actual footage of Metroid Prime 4,confirming it actually exists after being teased 7 YEARS AGO,confirmed to be releasing next year. The Mario & Luigi series is confirmed to be alive & even better than ever after it supposedly died 9 YEARS AGO! There's a new Zelda in the same style as the Link's Awakening remaster but with Zelda as the main character for the first time in years. Truly what a time to be alive. I've never been hyped for this many things at the same time but it keeps getting better. Thank you Nintendo & Sega. You captured my mind,imagination,& heart all those years ago when I was a kid,& even through all the ups & down,you still manage to keep going strong & provide incredible experiences.

today i went to see the garfield movie.

the adverts played, then the trailers played, and then the lights went out and a disclaimer appeared on the screen. usually at this point, there would be a recording asking us to turn our phones off and to not talk and things like that. what happened instead?

a trailer for Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door played. I was SO SURPRISED. why did they do this??? it was followed by a Luigi's Mansion 2 HD trailer and the film began.
