LAVERNE... GUY OF ALL TIME ACTUALLY

so laverne is the red herrings' mechanic slash human shield (self-proclaimed). they feel an almost unhealthy devotion for the troupe for getting them out of penacony and into a better, more prosperous life. because of their job-hopping past, they have a preference towards dirty jobs and handiwork.

they like drama as long as it doesn't involve them and are basically a walking rumor mill. blame the place they grew up in for being Like That i guess.

although they enjoy digging into other's business, they don't place much long-term commitment in people that aren't the red herrings. they consider it a blessing that they can't be distracted by things like romantic pursuits. despite this unexplained lack of interest (read: aromanticism), they have a surprising clairvoyance in regards to other people's feelings and relationships- and can see right through melanie when she says that her and "sparks" have a purely professional relationship.
