Anne's Love Interests: Jamie & Anne (Jamienne)

So. Jamienne's story begins with the barbecue.

Anne (Spring) has been baking for four-ish years, mostly with pre-mixed batter and a preference for decorating. She's known within her own major, and the theatre department due to a) her ability to dominate a debate b) the rumors spread by her ex girlfriend. The Horticulture club also know her, due to her and Deja frequenting the sales together. Anne and Deja are joking referred to as twins by Cam, due to how many interests they share (games, plants, stationery, fashion, etc etc). Deja and Anne got matching navel piercings and heart-shaped sun-glasses.

Unlike MC, Anne actually does recognize him immediately. However, she herself has also been gossiped about a lot, and is quite well known in some circles, and remembers how her twin struggled with people 'knowing them'. So, she acts like she doesn't.

In true spring fashion, Anne pulls no punches with the volunteers harassing Jamie, even going so far as to compare them to toddlers.

Jamie will later learn that this is an energy she can only give to her friends--her own groupies she cannot fend off so strongly.

The first event Anne experiences with the boys in the Study Room/Study Break event. After her confusion over Deja wanting to leave, she's easily convinced, and they go out together. When faced with flowershop!jamie, Anne avoids the subject of the groupies entirely--she doesn't ask if he's hiding, or if she should make a distraction. Instead, she just asks him to invite her next time he's going to the stationery store--in return, he teases that she'd prefer a visit to the record store. They chat a bit, then move on and away from the scene.

They don't become friends immediately, but the Fair bridges the gap between them via the jousting, which ends with a duel between Jamie and Anne, which he wins after much struggle.

From then on, their relationship as friends sparks. They are of one mind often, with Anne being a little more susceptible to chaos, a little more willing to make bad decisions when sleep-deprived (the big one). Anne is a louder version of Jamie, but they share many habits, opinions and interests. Greek myths, baking, teasing their friends; they're pretty annoying together, to be honest.

Over time, Jamie learns that Anne is only open in theory. Specifically she tells him, "what's the point in being secretive? My whole home town knows all this already, what's a few dozen or so people more?" She tells people openly about her experiences, because she doesn't believe anything can come of secrecy--or privacy.

Anne falls first. She falls somewhere between the end of spring and the summer season. This revelation causes a brief panic, then a desperate need for no one to know. Naturally, Deja and Cam confront her eventually.

During summer, Anne waffles back and forth on whether she should go back to making and performing her music. The friend group eventually convinces her to take a chance and participate in a bar's open stage event. With some theatre students and dance club members, she sets up a show.

At the show, Jamie falls in love--hard. Or rather, he starts to. He doesn't notice this fact until they're doing some mundane shit together; video games, or shopping, or baking, or reading. She might not even be doing anything, just staring dead-faced at her book--but it doesn't matter what she's doing, because it's not about how she looks, it's about how she is.

Once dating, i don't think anyone outside the friend group can tell. They're a bit touchier, sure, but not like obviously so. They're touchy in the way Anne is touchy with all her friends--and flirty the way she is with all said friends. The only way strangers can tell, is by the fact that Jamie is the only one who can make her blush.

(I would like Jamienne to have a slower burn, but they're too similar to not be quick friends LOL. Once she's started gaining his affection she'll struggle not to)

Jamie and Anne both have... followers. While many of the rumors around Jamie are just about how perfect he is... the ones around Anne can get pretty vulgar. It ranges from her being a slut, to being a gold digger, to only dating people for the prestige they'll give her, to her clothing being an invitation--it gets nasty. I think this is probably the source of their angst. More specifically, the fact that Anne cares about how she's seen, and wants to prove rumors wrong--and Jamie could not care less even if he tried.

I think he helps her alot. Learning how to care less is hard, but when Jamie is there suggesting the SILLIEST matching tattoos and jewelry, it gets a bit harder to rationalizing caring so much about people who don't really matter.

Anne's journey culminates in her deciding to pursue music--a lifelong dream a shitty friend (Milena) convinced her was unattainable. Over the course of the story, Anne realizes how bad Milena is for her self-esteem and happiness, and that if she never tries to reach for the stars, she can't gain anything.

After the conclusion of Keyframes, Step 4 of OLBA occurs. Quinn is the one to run into Baxter first, since they'd never left the area over the last five years. I'm not set on whether they meet him through the Baxter DLC or the Wedding DLC yet, but they definitely call Anne to tell her--and she tells them to do whatever they want, she does't care (she does care). Regardless, Baxter ends up as Quinn's friend this time around. At the same time, Derek and Anne get back in touch, and become close.

Basically, as adults, Quinn is closer with Baxter, and Anne is closer with Derek.

Not sure what the future for them holds beyond this, but for now, this is the forseeable future of Jamie & Anne 💚🩷

ok so theyve all got the classic face WHY DONT THEY ABUSE IT!!!! horror gets to do a little paper mache to cover up his head hole and then wearing glasses. killer i dont know what the FUCK he can do to get rid of his perpetual tears but let's just pretend that theyre conveniently gone for now. and then all dust has to do is put down his hood! anyways identity theft is cool. imagine how much they could totally fuck up classic's reputation with this. set up fake tinder profiles and then scam people for their credit card info/free dates (while ordering every expensive thing) and stealing wallets. walking into various grillby's's around the multiverse and telling terrible jokes. like ACTUALLY bad jokes. and then of course just being a huge piece of shit at the bar. god theres so many things they could do pretending to be classic. which one of us is hikaru looking ahh except the only difference between the three is the color of the stains on their clothes (either gray (dust) black (killer) or red. well faded red (horror))

and then they go out and get ice cream. sometimes the murderers need to take a break from murdering and just do NORMAL crime yk???

His gaze is currently fixed on Satine’s wrist where—Satine notices as if in slow motion and with a lurch of her stomach—the sleeve of her coat has ridden up and a nasty purple bruise is on full display. Unable to adjust her sleeve with her hands full of coffee cups, Satine rotates her arm but it’s too late; the damage has been done. “Are you alright?” Christian asks, reaching for her arm. His touch is as warm as Satine remembers but she flinches back from it as if it’s scalding hot. “I’m fine.” “I’m sorry, did I hurt you?” Christian asks, searching her eyes. “Not at all,” Satine hastens to reassure him, realizing too late that she probably should have taken that excuse when it was offered to her, that flinching away from something that didn't hurt is suspicious while flinching away from something that did is reasonable. “Nothing to worry about,” Satine tries next, “just one of the hazards of live theatre. The show has a lot of lifts and I bruise easily. You’ll see tonight—the dancing is incredible,” Satine says, trying to get him back on topic of opening night.
