I'm so pissed off with film or show adaptations of comics because the comics will morph their characters around the show or film version like FUCK OFFFFFF. I wouldn't care if the film or show was ACTUALLY GOOD. Just STOP. FORMING. YOURSELVES. AROUND. ADAPTATIONS. COMICS. PLEASE!
I'm NOT excited for when the MCU introduces the X-Men FULLY, or when they eventually introduce Miles Morales, or-
I'm not excited for when the MCU does anything to be honest.
How do people even like the MCU.
Genuinely.
You know what I'm gonna rant about something.
I've never understood the resistance for change with MCU fans because they also accept it all the time??
'I don't want them to change the casting for the X-Men!' suck it up pussy guess what it's like being a Spider-Man fan. There's like a billion different castings for Peter Parker.
'They'll make it different from the comics!' motherfucker everybody is different from the comics... You guys LOVE sucking Tony's, and everybody from phase 1-3's, dick and he couldn't be FURTHER from his comic counterpart.
'They changed Kamala and Pietro and Wanda because of the licensing drama!' okay that one's fair actually. I don't mind them changing Kamala to a mutant though because genuinely who cares about the inhumans.
'The costumes are bad nowadays!' Most of the costumes you're saying are bad are comic accurate, which you'll then complain about when they change it to be inaccurate, or a boring block of overcomplicated lines in what supposed to be a simple suit, in which case like everybody has that in the MCU. Like a good chunk of costumes are bad in the MCU idk how you missed it for THIS long.
'They don't have (insert superhero team here)!' I know MCU is supposed to like connect everything but y'all do realise if they shoehorn in the fantastic four or something now it's gonna become even more of a cramped up mess? It's already disconnected, like if doctor strange just blew up half of the earth in his movie the next one about... Idfk, the X-Men or something, most likely won't even mention it anyway.
'I want more of (insert character here)!' pick up a comic book then. Or read fanfiction. Or rewatch the show / movie they're in. Literally do anything else besides complain about the MCU leaving things on a cliffhanger / having unsatisfactory storylines, that's basically just what they're known for at this point.
'The old MCU was fine! I want it back!' it was less overcrowded if that's what you mean. If you really like watching a bunch of coworkers pretend they're friends and very stiffly interact with one another then go ahead, I'm not judging, but don't shame people for liking Mrs Marvel or Wakanda Forever, because then it becomes GLARINGLY OBVIOUS what your actual issue is...

it may sound contradicting coming form someone who ships two characters with 7 year age gap but I hate age gaps paired with power imbalance in ships so fucking much. when one character is still in high school and the other is a successful business owner or something similar and it's constantly pointed out in the text how one is such a child and the other is oh so mature. when one stresses over taxes and the other fusses over homework. when one is a blushing virgin and the other is a seasoned lover. I'm clearly reading something I should've closed several chapters ago but this whole dynamic just gets under my skin
#I didn't need to relive mcu st/arker experience all over again but here we are#fucking early 2010s fandoms why are you like this!#also i hate reading about ~powerful men~ in general so slash fics about a rich dark brooding love interest make my blood boil#not really an argument about grooming tbh even when older character is not interested and the younger one pursues them#it still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth#you're what. like 17 at max. why are you wasting your time on someone who (rightfully) treats you like a child#why are you getting jealous over their business meetings#pick yourself up and do something about your daddy issues jeesus christ#also i can't stand american high school setting it just annoys me to no end#aaaaand i generally try to avoid abo but what's new#guess what fic im reading. yeah the one where every single trope is present

Hi!! I have a request for a fic in the future if you want to do it. Yn is an actor, same age that Mk and Ashley. He started acting at a very young age and the Olsen twins were like the only competition he had. When the directors casted the twins and yn, he didn't know It was gonna be like hell. They were mean to him and they tried everything to be more famous than him. Years later Yn was casted as( i don't know, Vision or another one) and he met his new costar, everything in his past came back, and he was mean to her for her sisters.
Sorry, too long I think but I have this idea I think you would do a great job if you want to do it.
Wow. This is my first ever request on Tumblr. Thank you so much nonnie for thinking of me. I hope I did a good job buddy
Why Do You Hate Me
Elizabeth Olsen x Male Reader
Warnings: Angst. Fluff.
18+ MINORS DNI
Y/N Y/L/N was known for his earlier roles when he was a child, especially the roles he played in the movies he starred alongside the Olsen twins. Y/N was a timid boy and just wanted to be successful, but the twins made everything a competition. Deliberately making him screw up his lines. Tripping him up whenever they had the chance, or just being plain old mean to him by saying he sucks. He won't survive in the industry.
Although, that only encouraged him to do better in his career. Landing some major roles, especially joining the MCU as Vision. Although, the moment he met one of his co-stars, everything that he thought he had forgotten had come back to him.
"Hi, I'm Elizabeth Olsen, but you can call me Lizzie." She held her hand out for him to shake.
"Hi, Elizabeth, I'm Y/N Y/L/N." He spoke coldly, shaking her hand as he looked into her eyes. Seeing how much she looked like her sisters. His blood boiling at the memories.
As the time went on, his coldness towards Lizzie started to infuriate the woman. Especially when they started to film Civil War, having more scenes together. It wasn't until during the airport scene, one of the wires that held Y/N up as he flew, snapped. Halting the shoot as he collided with the floor. Groaning in pain.
"Are you ok?" Lizzie asked him as he just glared at her, moving away from her touch.
"Don't touch me." He snarled at her.
"I'm just concerned Y/N." She told him.
"Well don't be." He snarled as he sat up as Joe came running to him.
"Are you ok Y/N." Lizzie noticed how he didn't fight when Joe rested his hand on Y/N's good shoulder, deciding to get up and leave.
"I think it's dislocated." He told him as Joe signalled for the medics.
"We'll get you sorted out buddy." He told him with a smile as he helped Y/N to his feet. "We're done for the day guys. Thank you."
Lizzie was starting to get sick of how Y/N was treating her. How he would exclude her from every one of his conversation. Scolding her everytime she forgot a line, so she had done a stupid thing, she decided to get drunk. Only then she had the courage to confront Y/N. She marched to his hotel room, banging on his door.
"Elizabeth." He spoke quizzically, his arm in a sling.
"I need to talk to you." She slurred as she poked his chest, pushing passed him inside.
"Listen, I am tired and I don't care for this conversation." He told her as he gestured to the door.
"Why do you hate me?" She asked him shakily. He watched as tears formed in her eyes.
"I don't." He told her, guiding her to his bed. "You need to sleep and we can talk about this another day." He lay her down, helping take off her shoes before he grabbed her a bottle of water. "Drink this and sleep." He told her, getting up to get the trash can before he went to the sofa. Laying down himself.
"I don't understand." Lizzie mumbled sleepily.
"Maybe when your sober we can have that conversation." He told her softly, closing his eyes as he felt a heavy guilt weighing on his shoulders. He had made her feel how her sisters made him feel when they were younger. That wasn't who he was, who he should be. He was always kind and gentle, caring and selfless, but he has been the complete opposite to someone who could be his best friend. He turned his head in her direction, hearing her snores as she slept. "I'm sorry." He whispered before he tried to sleep himself.
As the next morning came around, Lizzie stirred awake. Remembering the events of last night, groaning as she sat up. Shocked to see Y/N enter the room with a paper bag and some water.
"Here, take these and then eat." He told her before he retreated back to the sofa. As the two ate in silence, he decided to break it. "I don't hate you."
"What?" Lizzie questioned, she could see how he had been kicking himself.
"I'm not sure if you remember me from working on those project with your sisters when we were kids." He told her as she looked closer at him. "They made my life hell whenever we were on set. They would make me screw up my lines and tell me I was worthless. I wouldn't make it in the industry. All sorts of things like that. I honestly thought about quitting when they said that I was too fat for the job, but then I used their slurs and used them. I forced myself into the gym everyday, I cut out fast food and somedays I actually forgot to eat because of it." He sighed as he sat back, his gaze never faltering from Lizzie's. "I'm sorry that I took it out on you, but when you told me your name, it brought everything back."
"Y/N." Lizzie tried as he just shook his head no.
"I'm sorry Lizzie." He whispered. "I made you feel how they made me feel and I was wrong to do that."
"Hey." She got up and sat beside him. "We can start a fresh if you want. Be friends?" She asked him as he just smiled at her, nodding.
"I would like that." He whispered as she smiled widely.
"Good." She smirked. "Well, since you are now the reason none of us have work until you're healed, let's have some fun."
As the weeks turned into months, both of them became closer. Best friends even. But that wasn't entirely something that Y/N ever saw happening, especially since they lived so close to each other. They would spend time in each others houses, watching movies or cooking together.
Over time, Y/N had realised that he has developed feelings for her. Unsure of how to pursue things, unsure if she even feels the same way. So, it wasn't until the cast decided to have a small get together, and Robert's idea to do 7 minutes in heaven.
"You don't have to kiss in the closet, you could just tell each other your deepest secrets since some of us are in happy relationships." He stated, placing the bottle on the table, spinning it and it landed on Scarlett. As the game went on, it was Lizzie's turn, as she spun it, it landed in between Y/N and Evans.
"I've already been." Chris smirked as he nudged Y/N's shoulder. Y/N nodded shyly as he stood up, following behind Lizzie and Robert.
"Remember, seven minutes guys." He told them before he closed the door on them. The closet was only illuminated by a dull light as the two were practically stood toe to toe.
"So." Y/N started shyly.
"We can kiss or you can tell me your deepest secret." She smirked as he choked on air. "One that no on knows."
"I feel like either way, you will find out a secret." He snickered shyly.
"So which is it?" She asked as she stepped closer. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before cupping her cheek. Gazing into her eyes.
"This is going to change a lot Elizabeth." He whispered as he leaned closer. Lizzie's breath was quickening at feel of his breath on her face. The smell of alcohol and cigarettes on his breath.
"I don't care." She whispered before he closed the gap. Kissing her with urgency, she gripped onto his collar before her hands went to his neck. His to her hips as he pushed her against the opposite wall. Her leg wrapping around his waist as their tongues danced together. His hand moving up her thigh to her ass, squeezing it and causing her to grind against his crotch. The two moaning and panting as he moved his kisses to her neck, sucking and biting softly as she continued to grind.
"Time's up!" They heard Robert bang on the door. The two pulled apart with dialated pupils before fixing themselves. Making sure they don't look like they were about to have sex in their friend's closet.
Lizzie grabbed Y/N's hand as she left the closet. Pushing him to sit down before getting on his lap. Smirking as the two continued the evening with their friends. Anticipating what the future has in store for the two.

bloody love . part 1
pairing ➳ peter parker x reader
warnings ➳ hanahaki!au, unrequited love, no happy ending, heavy angst, mentions of blood, mentions of vomiting, fluff if you squint really hard, please read at your own discretion.
w.c. ➳ 2k
summary ➳ who said love couldn’t kill?
what is hanahaki!au? “the hanahaki disease is an illness born from unrequited love, where the patient’s lungs will fill up with flowers, they will then proceed to throw, and cough up the petals.”
idk if i really wanted this fic to be tasm!peter or mcu!peter but hey there’s gwen in it, so maybe let’s go with tasm sksksks
part 2 | part 3 | part 4
peter never thought he’d get bitten by a radioactive spider.
he never thought his life would come spiralling down to this. he’d met gwen stacy when he was a sophomore in highschool and now that he felt like he was almost in a place to start a relationship with her, he started to notice how you had distanced yourself from him. he saw you less and less as the days passed by. you were not at the basketball practice, he never saw you during lunch, or in the library, despite it being your favorite place.
it was as if you’d disappeared from the school.
or worse, from his life.
he came to your window after a long night and knocked just for silence from your end but as expected, the window was open, and you were familiar with him barging in at unusual times.
peter entered the room and slid the window to a close. He took off his mask and threw it over to your bed, waiting for you to enter your room any minute but the next thing he noticed was a drop of blood.
and another. and another. a whole trail of tiny droplets of ruby red leading up to your bathroom and peter’s own blood ran cold. once again he was alarmed, thinking of the worst possible scenario as he followed it up to your bathroom.
wrapping his hand around the metal knob, peter turned it as quietly as possible. and it opened up to one of the most horrific scenes he would have probably witnessed throughout his lifetime. you were hunched over the toilet, coughing wildly. there were the same droplets of blood over the toilet seat, a few bloody petals fallen over the purple carpet of your bathroom.
“y/n?” he called out in horror as you breathed out a deep sigh. you had emptied out all contents into the toilet but even with shaky hands you scrambled to grab the petals and throw them in the water before you flushed it all down.
“peter, what uh, what are you doing here?” you said in a quiet voice, going over to the sink.
“y-you had blood, on the floor, on the toilet, o-on your shirt” the brunette pointed out. you could see the look of concern etched onto his face and you looked away as your heart fluttered in your chest. you didn’t need that right now, “what’s happening?”
“it’s nothing. i just want some water.” before you could make any attempt to leave the washroom, peter was on his toes.
“i’ll get it for you! warm water, that’ll help you feel better,” peter said, walking out quickly, “while you should change and get into bed.”
peter never thought he’d be able to muster the courage to talk after he’d seen you like that. you looked in so much pain. he wondered what could it be as he let the water boil for you. he brought you a glass of lukewarm water and pulled your study chair so he could sit beside you.
you were now sitting on your bed, back against the pillows supported by the headboard and sheets pulled up over your leg. you sipped on the water silently, hindering peter’s questions.
“you never answered my question.” you were, however, the first one to break the silence.
“you never answered mine.” peter countered, his voice low, worried. you couldn’t meet his eyes even if you tried because you knew the concern in them would break you.
“you’re wrong. i told you it’s nothing.”
“y/n, i-”
“i’m fine, peter.” you declared before he could even finish his sentence.
“i haven’t seen you in school for a whole week.” the brunette opted for a change of topic when you seemed unwilling to talk about yourself. another wave of silence settled in the room as neither of you knew what to say next, that is, unless peter did, “a-are you sick?” his voice came in as a soft whisper, as if he was afraid to speak.
“i don’t know.” you gulped, breathing almost normally now. peter didn’t know if he was supposed to overlook those blood stains covering your carpet, “it’s complicated.”
peter moved swiftly, sitting down close to the edge of your bed, “make me understand, then. please.” his hand went and placed itself over your knee. your eyes flicked up to catch his, chocolate brown irises swimming in concern.
“peter i-it’s not that easy.” you pleaded, unable to peel your eyes off of his.
your caring best friend didn’t need to know that your little problem had started almost two months back. although you had known peter since sophomore year, you realized you were in love with him when he offered to drop you home after the halloween movie night had ended up being a little too scary. he waited until you were inside the safety of your room and waved him goodbye through your window.
but two months ago, you felt a sting in your chest, it didn’t feel like a big deal but over time, it started getting harder and harder for you to breathe. when you told your mom that you couldn’t breathe, she rushed you to the hospital.
the doctor had said it was a rare condition and the first thing your mom asked was if it was genetic. she told the doctor she’d been through the same thing and later when you asked her what had happened, she told you about how she had found a guy whom she really liked, but when she told him that, the response she found was anything but nice. she suffered for a long time until she finally decided to get surgery.
“but it must’ve still hurt?” you asked her, eyebrows furrowed
“i’d never have to worry about him anymore, because with the flowers gone, all the feelings are gone too.” she told you with a smile, thinking she was helping your case.
“but i- i don’t wanna forget peter.” you said, voice shaky as tears pooled in your eyes.
your mom wiped away the tears that slid down your cheeks before giving you a sad smile, “i’m really sorry, sweetheart. and it’s not that you’ll forget that boy completely. you just won’t feel the same for him.”
“but what about our friendship?”
“you can always re-establish a friendship.” she said, helping you sit up over the almost too tiny bed for dinner.
“it won’t be the same though.”
the next day, the doctor had told you to rest and take some time to figure out if you were ready for a surgery, which led you to this moment.
“i have all the time. i miss you, (y/n/n). please tell me what’s wrong. don’t cut me off, please.” each word out of peter was cutting through the wall you’d tried to build around yourself.
“i’m not cutting you off, peter. i was gonna join school from monday, next week.”
“oh. really?” peter asked, leading you to nod your head in response. he gave you a little smile, though not really convinced, “i was just really worried about you.”
“don’t be.” you returned his smile, “i’ll see you tomorrow?” you asked.
peter found himself getting off your bed, not having anything else to continue this conversation with you. he really wanted to ask you what was the fuss with all the blood but you wouldn’t answer him.
“i’ll see you.” he nodded, starting to walk away, but something stopped him in his tracks, as if he’d forgotten something. he made a swift move back to your side, leaning down and catching you by surprise when his lips met your forehead. the touch seemed to linger a moment before he moved back, just enough to look you in the eyes, “i’m sorry i’ve been a shitty friend. i’ll make it up to you, i promise.”
your entire face was feeling warm with the proximity and all you could do was nod.
peter gave you a smile before rushing off to your window and swinging away from you.
the next day you met peter with a smile, as if nothing was wrong. he returned your smile, wrapping his arms around you.
“it’s awesome to finally have you back!” ned chimed in from behind, causing the brunette to pull away from you, “me and peter were starting to think we’d just have to finish the lego death star without you!”
you chuckled, “theres no way i would’ve let that happen now is there?”
for a moment everything was starting to feel alright as your two friends helped you catch up on everything that happened for the week you were gone. even flash was acting nice around you for some unknown reason, you thought it was probably because he too– just like peter– thought you were sick.
your happiness was short-lived, though, because as soon as you reached the homeroom, your trio found gwen at the door, “hey, guys!” she smiled and you tried your best to muster half of the one she gave you.
ned pulled you inside, leaving peter with the blonde girl, “come on, let’s let the love birds chat.”
you tried to act normal, ignoring the sting of pain that shot through your chest.
the first few classes weren’t as terrible as you’d imagined. peter had promised you that he would make up to you. you just wanted to look forward to that and not worry about two teenagers, spotting whom could lead you to throw up a garden of blood.
“i’m not gonna lie though, peter kept buying chocolate milkshakes everyday for you, it was driving me crazy.” gwen rolled her eyes sarcastically, making you and your friends laugh. her wonderful nature only made it hard to be mad.
somehow you kept circling back to yourself as the root cause of your situation. you should never have fallen in love with peter parker.
if only you’d never fallen in love with him, you wouldn’t have to suffer the pain everytime peter and gwen’s fingers brushed over the table. you tried to take a deep, shuddered breath, playing with the peas on your plate. your appetite dissolved further as the petals multiplied in your lungs.
after the last bell, you and peter were walking towards the exit when gwen called out his and your name, rushing over to the two of you. peter grinned and asked her what was up. the two of them laughed and talked while you found yourself standing in the corner.
“hey, maybe i should get going.” you suggested to peter, tugging at the straps of your bag.
“oh, no, no, wait just a minute. i will stop hogging him from you, don’t worry.” gwen chuckled, returning her attention to peter.
you just stood there, looking around, not focusing on their conversation really. you stopped listening after you heard gwen invite peter over for dinner over at her place. it was getting harder to breathe but you gulped down the feeling, just wanting to reach home and empty your lungs.
the chain of thoughts was disrupted when your eyes caught another sight of your two friends. gwen leaned up, placing a gentle kiss on peter’s cheek and air got stuck in your lungs, it suddenly became very hard to breathe. your throat filled up as you coughed, feeling that familiar coppery taste on your tongue.
“hey, y/n, you okay?” you heard peter ask but it was too late, blood was everywhere, in your mouth, thrumming through your ears.
uh oh.

Hi Minnie! I don't mean send an ask that isn't stucky related so if it's one you don't want to answer I understand.
I made the mistake of going into the TeamIronman tag on ao3 yesterday. I wasn't in the fandom when Civil war came out so I watched the movie as a passive viewer and missed a lot of the teams conversation. But I was curious because I've always been staunchly TeamCap so I clicked on the tag and it shocked me. So many of the TeamIronman fics twist Steve to make him out to be the villain even when he so clearly isn't. I mean i understand disagreeing with him on the accords and his actions in the movie but to completely twist the character so completely that's he's basically unrecognisable is strange to me. They make up all sorts of things like it's Steve's fault that Tony had a bad relationship with his father which doesn't make any sense because Steve was in the ice during that time.
To me, it seemed like majority of the TeamIronman fics don't have a leg to stand on based on the facts given to us in the movie so they're twisting Steve and Bucky to make them the villains. Not all of them, but a majority of them seem to be convinced that Team Cap should beg for Tony's forgiveness and sign the accords anyway. I don't really get it and I was wondering if you have any idea where the animosity comes from? I could be wrong but I haven't seen this in the Team Cap fics that tend to treat Tony pretty fairly and say that he understandably angry when he sees the footage of his parents death.
Hi lovely! Don't worry, you're welcome to send me asks about whatever you like, as long as they're respectful, which this message seems to be!
This is a bit of a tricky subject, in the wider Marvel fandom context, but it's also an interesting one imo. I don't want to start (or revive, I guess) a big debate at all, I'm personally very happy to just enjoy my Stucky fics and the Team Cap fandom these days, and not worry or even think about the existence any other fandoms/ships that include our boys. What they do over there is their business, and ultimately, I just don't want to know the details. I also wasn't in the fandom during the Civil War days, so I was never involved in the debate at the time (though I would always have been Team Cap, there's no question about thay for me). But I will admit that I have in the past also noticed and wondered about the same things you're describing right now, so I understand where your confusion is coming from.
I think it might have something to do with the comics, like perhaps there's more going on there than there was in the MCU, and that's where some of the Team Iron Man support/anti Team Cap behaviour stems from? But maybe not, I don't actually know anything about the comics myself, so I may well be wrong about that.
But anyway, when considering the Civil War conflict as it was presented in the MCU, I just can't understand how people could side with Tony without any understanding for Steve's perspective, or how they could ever make Steve (and Bucky) out to be the villain(s). I think you'd have to spectacularly misunderstand Steve's character and the circumstances that led to Bucky becoming the Winter Soldier to do so. Steve being a thoroughly good man is the main reason why he even became a superhero in the first place, it's essential to his very existence. And as for the idea that Bucky is a villain rather than a victim... well, that just makes my blood boil, and always will.
I personally don't dislike Tony, I just think the MCU didn't do him any favours in those final movies, and I much prefer the more reasonable, inherently kind version of him we often see in Stucky / Team Cap fics. So no, I personally don't understand the need for such animosity either to be honest, nor where it comes from. (I have some ideas about why some people might idolise Tony and want to see him as the guy on the right side of history/the victor, and Steve as the opposite, but lets just say that I don't think I would see eye to eye with those people in real life either)
Anyway, this is all just my opinion, and I'm really not looking to antagonise anyone or start a big discussion. We're all entitled to our own fandom opinions, it's mostly just entertainment in the end, and as long as we don't harass others with our opinions or go looking for conflict, I think it's all fine. But I also don't think there's any harm in discussing questions like these within our own circles, so yeah, thanks for your message and I'm sorry I can't really shed more light on the situation for you!

VI TALKS ABOUT THOR/MCU / @chenshixianyou / ACCEPTING !
╰┈➤ 🔥 + brodinsons relationship (how it is portrayed either in canon or fan-portrayals, you pick)
||. I don't have many bad things to say about brodinsons in canon, that is for absolute sure. At least, I don't as far as 2011-2013 brodinsons goes. And Infinity War brodinsons. That said, I do have some nitpicks with Gag//na.rok's version of the brothers– which boils down to that they are not the same dynamic as expressed in the original three films. (Yes, I do count AVENGERS as the 2nd brodinsons film, bite me.)
As far as canon goes, Gag//na.rok does a couple of things wrong, but off the cuff the first thing that burns my biscuits is the bold claim that Loki has always had a habit of physically assaulting Thor for funzies. What started off as an improv by Ch//ri.s became a meme throughout the MCU fandom, and then from there a fanon with the brothers. It's a funny gag, I will give it that, genuinely. I chuckled when I first saw it. But having done such deep dives into both brothers in preparation for this blog in particular, I can say with absolute certainty that there is no way in hell that Loki was ever going around hurting Thor for the heck of it and I can prove it with not one but TWO meta. The first and ONLY time that Thor gets stabbed by Loki is during AVENGERS at the top of Stark Tower, and it was deliberately done on Loki's end. Thor actively stumbles out of surprise and shock that he was just harmed by his own brother— someone he once fully believed he could trust to the world's end, and whom he cherishes deeply, mind you— and is so disturbed by Loki's action that he is continues to stumble and stagger after the fact. Not because the dagger did any lasting damage to Thor (although it did draw blood, which is part of the point I'm about to elaborate on), but because it was his brother's hand who dealt the blow, and the stab itself was a symbolic gesture of severing sentiment.
(Also, because I'm sure some people will assume I'm miscounting, no Loki does not stab Thor during the Svartfalheim heist in THOR: THE DARK WORLD. It is an illusion from every moment onward after Thor and Loki share the following lines: L: You still don't trust me, brother? T: Would you? L: No, I wouldn't. Everything after that, from the moment Loki pulls out his dagger, was a ruse that both brothers were actively engaged in and had consented to. At no point is Thor caught off guard by Loki's theatrics, because the entire scene features the brothers attempting to trick Malekith (which they succeed in) to destroy the Aether (which they do not succeed in). If anything, I would go so far as to personally suggest that the brothers had designed equally elaborate schemes in the past that included similar theatrics, given the ease with which they pull this ruse off. And I say that with confidence because it is plenty clear that the brothers interactions, from the moment that Loki is released from the prison cell, and including the entirety of the escape on the Dark Elf ship, harkens back to a time long before the brothers had experienced their falling out. THOR: THE DARK WORLD does its job in showing us that the brothers, despite everything, still work well together, and they share an innate chemistry and brotherly bickering during their various adventures, including the quest to rid Jane of the Aether.)
To review the actual scene in question, I have gathered screenshots from the movie (and timestamps.)
It's important to remember 1 key detail about the brothers, and 1 key scene that ties into the moment of the Avengers tower, and that is the cliff scene, and that the brothers mostly talk in subtext.
Yes, they are talking about the overall Chutari invasion that Loki is spearheading in New York City at the exact moment in the context of which they are speaking to one another...
TO THAT END, I need to establish one other key component to fully understand the true weight behind their dynamic:
Thor and Loki's feud throughout this film has nothing to do with Earth, the threat to Earth and very rarely ever is outside of purely objective, logistical potential for harm and intergalactic war.
It's what sets Thor apart from the other Avengers from start to finish; it is what makes him the outsider. The other Avengers consider Loki an enemy. Some of them even hate him. Thor does not. He actively defends Loki and clearly loves him dearly. ("[Loki's] brain is a bag full of cats. You can smell crazy on him. / "Have care how you speak. Loki is beyond reason but he is of Asgard, and he is my brother." 00:53:37-00:53:47) The other Avengers see Loki and other aliens as a threat to humanity to be warded off. Thor, the resident alien of the group, obviously is testament to the polar opposite of that hot take, says as much. He knows that Loki is currently acting as the rare exception, not the rule. ("Why is S.H.I.E.L.D. building weapons of mass destruction? / "Because of people like him." / "Me? [...] My people want nothing but peace with your planet.")
There is ALSO the entirety of their opening scene together to keep in mind before I go through the Stark Tower conversation:
THE CLIFF SCENE (00:44:44-00:47:07)
T: I thought you dead. (in reference to Loki tossing himself into a black hole at the end of "THOR") L: Did you mourn?
THESE LINES IN PARTICULAR set the tone for the entire conversation. Please keep in mind that this is their first conversation since their falling out, and while I can't go into every facet of the emotional damage done to the bond between the two brothers (and especially the trauma done to Thor...), what I will say is this: the last time that Thor saw Loki was when Loki threw himself into the abyss of space to be torn apart by a black hole, and this was done RIGHT IN FRONT OF THOR'S OWN EYES after an equally traumatic banishment experience. There are A LOT of emotions going on there, and it's easy to forget that in place of much of Loki's dialogue in this scene, and for the reason I'm going to highlight right below.
T: We all did. (subtext: I did [note: Loki doesn't catch the subtext.])
This is when the brothers slip from literal meaning and into subtext, and begin to bob and weave between the two. It all starts with Thor's inability (or unwillingness, depending on how you want to read it) to speak his heart plainly to his brother. Loki asks "did you mourn [me]?", and Thor diverts from "I" (personal) did, to "We" (impersonal) did. He is actively distancing himself from the topic of grief and the mourning he experienced after Loki's "death"... but it's about as close as Thor will ever get to admitting that he, personally, mourned for Loki, and mourned deeply for him.
He then attempts to continue the distancing/deflecting with the following line, although we don't know what he was going to say to finish the sentence.
T: Our father—
L: (interrupting) —YOUR. father.
Loki interrupting this is rooted in his personal grievances towards Odin. These are grievances I will not be touching on for the length of this meta as they are virtually irrelevant to the topic at hand. Just know that in interrupting Thor here, he does rob Thor of his ability to continue to distance himself from the situation... but he also robs Thor of his ability to express whatever he might have expressed about his grieving if he had been allowed to continue.
Either way:
T: We grew up together. We played together, we fought together. Do you remember none of that?
Thor and Loki, despite being masters of speaking in subtext, have a shared habit of taking one another literally. When Loki says "I am not your brother" / "Odin is your father", Thor is taking Loki's meaning as something akin to "I am disowning you, Thor Odinson, very specifically, and I want nothing to do with you." As you can imagine this is an extraordinarily painful thing to hear, especially when BOTH BROTHERS were lied to about Loki's blood heritage for their whole lives, and Thor actually found out much later than Loki.
The most important thing to keep in mind here is that Thor is defending their bond as brothers. In that way, he is also defending the love they share. They grew up together. They played together. They fought together. They loved each other, because they were - and still are - brothers. Does that mean nothing to Loki? THAT is what Thor is asking here.
Loki is ... a prat and a dollop-head in this scene. I'll save a full scale line-by line + 2011 context meta for another time, but it's also worth nothing that thunder strikes multiple times throughout the length of this conversation and they are at the following intervals:
L: He did tell you my true parentage, did he not? (thunder rumbles. aka: yes, he did.) L: I remember you tossing me into an abyss (thunder rumbles. The thunder continues during:) T: So you take the world as recompense for your imagined slights? (aka: Thor is taking Loki's words to literally mean the black hole, instead of Loki's jealousy being 'an abyss'.) L: And you are doing a marvelous job of [protecting the humans and Earth] (Loki is taking a pot shot at Thor's insecurity of being a worthy, protector king here. Maybe I'll talka bout it in another meta...) L: I have grown, ODINSON! (Thunder rumbles. Loki is yet again distancing himself from Thor as a brother.)
T: You give up the tesseract! You give up this poisonous dream!
The brothers continue their argument. Notably, they are still talking to each other straight and without subtext with these lines. (For the uninitiated, they're arguing about being worthy to be king and what that entails which... is an entire meta that I really should discuss at some point...)
Thor then weaves the literal into the subtext of the conversation that Loki has been avoiding this entire time, which is their bond, their brotherhood, and Thor's grief.
T: You come home. (subtext: with/to me.)
Thor does NOT plead. He does not beg for anything, to anyone. Still here he is, pleading with his brother to come home. Why? Because Thor wants him to come home. THOR misses him. THOR wants him back. This is his heart's desire, and Thor is FINALLY making this conversation expressly about himself - about THEM - even if he doesn't say what's unspoken.
You, my brother, come home to me.
Silence.
This time, Loki DOES catch the subtext. He understands. It's why he is so, SO silent here; it's why he stares the way he does. He wasn't expecting Thor to plead with him over sentiment. He certainly wasn't expecting Thor to care enough to want him back.
So, this time, Loki pivots. Loki turns it into something far outside of himself. Loki makes it impersonal.
L: (about tesseract) I don't have it. (subtext: I won't/can't come home to you.)
Loki rejects him, and Thor understands Loki's meaning, but he misunderstands that from Loki's perspective, he feels himself far too neck deep into his own ambitions to turn tail now. It would be a disgrace on his honor, and Loki does not believe that he is truly welcome back, no matter what Thor says.
This all fuels the TOWER SCENE later on. (1:46:52-1:47:42)
T: You think this madness will end with your rule?
One again, the brothers are in conflict, and there is a literal text and a subtext. Overtly, they are speaking about the Chutari invasion and Loki's part to play in it, but make no mistake in believing that that's what this conversation is about. It is STILL about coming home, and it is still about them and their bond, because while Thor is fighting for Earth's safety.... I really do believe he's fighting for his brother even more than that. (yet another meta for future vi to worry about... Thor, bless him, is not an impartial being and he can't surrender his personal attachments for any cause. It's his most selfish trait, and his greatest strength but I digress.)
L: It's too late! (subtext: it's too late for us/for me [to go home to you].) L: (resigned) It's too late to stop it.
Remember that their conversation at the Stark Tower is a direct continuation of their conversation on the cliff. So when Loki says "it's too late", he isn't just talking about the invasion. He can stop that if he tries to. If anyone can, it's Loki, the greatest sorcerer in all of Asgard. Loki means it's too late for them. It's too late for HIM. It's too late for him to come home after everything he has done up to this point. (I'd imagine he may also be talking about the events of 2011 but that's neither here nor there.)
As you can see from Thor's expression, Thor is in tune with Loki's true meaning. He knows Loki is talking about himself. Hence:
T: No. We can. Together. (subtext: No it isn't too late for us. I want you to come home.)
We can fix this. We can go home, together. It is not too late for us. You can still give up this poisonous dream. I still want you to come home.
There's a long pause in which Loki stares at Thor exactly like on the cliff, and then he gives a weak smile and that is when Loki stabs Thor in the abdomen with a tiny dagger. It's enough to make Thor stagger, because Thor isn't expecting it. Thor is reaching out with arms wide open towards his prodigal brother, and once again, Loki rejects him. And to make it clear that Loki truly believes it's too late for him (something even he deeply regrets, btw. He's crying in this scene.), Loki does the one thing that he has NEVER done, and draws Thor's blood in combat. He actually WOUNDS him, and he does it by his own hand.
This is not something he had done before. Ever. Period. In THOR (2011), they sparred, but Loki was not going out of his way to actually harm Thor. (If anything he was trying to goad Thor to harm him.) And when Loki snapped Thor's neck with the Destroyer, nearly killing him, that was not done by Loki's own, personal hand, physically and in person. It's also possible that Loki wasn't actually intending to kill Thor with the Destroyer, especially given even Thor forgets his own limitations as a mortal being.
BUT THIS? This was deliberate. This was personal. This was done entirely by Loki's own hand, of his own volition, and in a way that neither he nor Thor can ever take back or pretend was a mistake.
L: Sentiment.
And so in this way, Loki is trying to rid himself of his sentiment; his lingering love for his family and especially his brother. And, in another way, he's likewise telling Thor that his sentiment won't save Loki; all that they share, all that love, all that sentiment is worthless. Because in Loki's eyes there is no saving Loki.
Loki can't go home to his family, he has fallen too far. (and yet, he still loves them; he too is filled with sentiment.)
T: You give up the tesseract! You give up this poisonous dream! You come home. L: I don't have it.
^^^ A screenshot of Thor's reaction to the dagger in question. It's small, it clearly does very little to Thor. It barely has any blood on it, but it did draw blood nonetheless, because Loki can get close to Thor, Loki knows Thor's weaknesses, and Loki knows Thor's sentiment.
It is after Thor throws this dagger - this manifestation of their bond's slow disintegration - onto the floor of the tower that Thor finally commits to protecting Earth as his number one priority... even if doing so and ignoring his sentiment continues to pain him and cripple him greatly.
Thor stumbles (1:50:25-1:50:40)
He isn't stumbling and staggering because the dagger did damage to him. He's stumbling and staggering because of who did it, and how much that person means to him. Thor has been betrayed, his heart has been broken, and while he knows without a doubt that he must stand against Loki and beside the Avengers to keep Earth safe from his own loved one... it comes at a great cost: sentiment.
This is also why the quintessential Avengers circling shot ONLY happens after Thor has the Tower moment with Loki, because then and ONLY THEN is Thor actually on the same page as the rest of the Avengers.
So, no. I don't think that Loki would have ever in a million years have stabbed Thor before that point. Not for a joke save the (apparently canonical now...) one time, and certainly not as much as fanon likes to say he would have. Thor trusts Loki implicitly. Loki is the only person in their Asgardian group who can effectively and consistently rein Thor's impulses in. They are a perfect match for each other; two sides of one coin. And Loki's betrayal would not mean as much to Thor in this scene if Loki had ever caused Thor physical harm (meaning: enough to draw blood) before AVENGERS' Tower Scene.
#(Avengers is a thor film change my mind.)#(spoiler alert: you can't.)#(this is mostly a joke for the ppl who can't read sarcasm.)#(but genuinely it is basically a .5 thor film. if thor 1 and thor 2 are thor films then avengers really is just thor 1.5)#(their bond means everything to me ok...)#( meta . ) — son of cosmos . lightning flows through thy veins .#my meta#anti thor ragnarok#( salt to taste . ) — in this house we love the actual main character . crazy i know .#(tagging just to be safe ig)#chenshixianyou#(sorry this is so long friendo im just very passionate about these two idiot moron brothers)

Tagged by the wonderful @iam93percentstardust, thank you, love ♥️
If any of my followers are into MCU SteveTony, I can only recommend checking Alle's fics out. She's a fantastic writer!
Rrules: list the first line(s) of your last 10 (or however many you have) posted fics and see if there’s a pattern!
I had to skip some fics whose first lines were prompts, which don't count as my own first lines.
1. Zombies and Other Everyday Occurrences: Butsuma barely manages a step onto the engawa before he pauses in his movements and stares.
2. Brothers (And Lack Thereof): “Tobirama!”
3. Lover’s Quarrel (And Why Tobirama Deserves a Vacation): Nezuko’s loud cry wakes him up even before Mito needlessly kicks him in the shins with her ice-cold feet.
4. Vivid Dream: “Hinata!”
5. A Viper’s Venom: The tantou pierces Madara’s flesh just moments after Butsuma climaxes with a satisfied grunt inside Madara.
6. Crossing All the Lines: Sakura turns the bottle of sake she’s holding in her hand back and forth, wondering what Tsunade-shishou would think if she knew what Sakura’s contemplating to do.
7. Sometimes, Some Days: For a woman who has traveled through time, come straight from years of war and witnessed blood, death, destruction and slaughter daily, only to get transported into an era long before her time, long before her family and her friends would be born, Ino is adjusting pretty well.
8. Written in the Water, Live However: Every fiber of Rin’s body feels like it’s on fire as she opens her eyes, yet the first thing she notices is the Sanbi’s giddiness inside her, in contrast to the fury he has infested her with over the years.
9. Written in the Water, Die Regardless: Rin’s blood feels like it’s boiling, and all she sees is red, red, red like blood and fire and fury, and every step she takes burns, but she doesn’t stop running and she doesn’t look back.
10. Desperate Times, Desperate Measures: Tobirama had been staring at the chat bubble for what felt like hours now.
Pattern: Humor fics tend to have very short lines, sometimes dialogue, other times a direct action. The non-humor fics have a bit longer prose, but either way, I tend to go directly into the action of the story and not dwell on descriptions.
Tagging: @names-are-fucking-hard @domoz @madbuns and everyone else who sees this and wishes to do it!

Media literacy doesn't just mean "I can enjoy a problematic thing in fiction that I know would be bad in real life". Media literacy also means you can pick up when a non-racist writer writes a character as racist to make a statement, and when it's just the writer's own racism slipping in. Hell, sometimes it's very complicated, sometimes a writer criticizes racism while also having their own internal biases slip in (The way B'lana Torres is written on Star Trek Voyager makes my blood boil, it's like the writers are criticising her for her internalized racism while also validating her, it feels like a biracial person written by a white writer. They wanted to talk about internalized racism, but it feels like they didn't realize just how over the top racist they made B'lana. If she was talking about any real life race and not Klingons, you'd be horrified).
Stories reflect the people who made them. Which makes them hard to evaluate because people can be full of contradictions. A sexist guy can criticize a more blatantly sexist guy, hell, he can use the fact that the other guy is more sexist to convince himself, and you, that he himself isn't.
"How can the MCU be military propaganda, it shows military characters as villains". IT CAN BE. Blaming the problems with the military on pantho villains, individuals, bad eggs, shifts the blame away from the system. It's Illumination's Lorax with O'Haire. "I can never be this guy, he's evil, and I'm not, so I am not doing anything bad by supporting capitalism."
And here's the piece of advice that helped me: You can be wrong, and that's okay. It's a learning experience. You don't have to get it on the first try. And you can still enjoy stuff like MCU, the reason we're saying this stuff is not to forbid anything or call for a boycott (except for a few extreme examples where the money goes directly to evil organizations and we have more control over it), but to make sure that if you watch it, you don't fall for their traps. And if any of this stuff makes you not enjoy it anymore... is that a bad thing? It means your tastes have changed, you are now free to explore other things. It doesn't mean someone ruined a work of media for you, it means you grew as a person, and the stuff that's been in there always is no longer acceptable to you.
And this can be wrong too, you can grow further and come back to it, and recognize the bad elements, but still enjoy the good, or you can never come back to it, and ahift to other things that you enjoy even more, than you might have never discovered, because you devoted yourself to that one thing.
We are changing constantly, constantly learning, but being on the lookout for problematic things is helpful when evaluating media. Sometimes it can go too far, but that's also part of the learning experience for many people, they mellow out with time.
And lastly... stuff like Sokka being made not-sexist and removing lines from Ursula's songs shouldn't be blamed on consumers, on "Tumblr kids with no media literacy", or even on idiots on he internet who grasp at straws to prove modern media is racist or sexist in some silly attempt to make progressives out to be hypocrites (Like those people who jumped through hoops to make She-r out to be homophobic for making a lesbian a villain). This is shifting the blame away from the system, that doesn't listen to us as much as we would like to believe it does. It should be blamed on the fact that these projects are still written by white male writers, who know they're not part of the minorities they represent, so they try to be as unproblematic as they can be in fear of getting judged, when the solution would be more women in the writers room, and more research, and those men actually being allies and consuming media made by women. Because then, you actually get stuff like She-ra, where lesbians aren't these unproblematic, sterilized perfect beans, but actual human beings, with problems, and flaws, and corruption arcs, and redemption arcs and just... good stuff!
Lastly, you don't fucking need permission to write your fanfiction where the guy is kinda sexist, and it's enemies to lovers and it's hot. By all means, be in control of your narrative, clap back, but don't be afraid to tell your story from your perspective. No matter how hard you try to educate people, there will be idiots who hate you for what you're doing, so we will have to find other ways to deal with that. I say we, because I am struggling with it too.
We're constantly learning.

Imagine if Peter parker and y/n used to date? And then Peter became so absorbed with being spiderman that he neglects y/n. After a few months of Peter's attitude you would eventually get tired of it and in the end you would either break up with him or just ghost him. And it isn't like he'd notice that you were gone.
You start to move on. You find someone that treats you better. But you have this constant nagging to keep checking on peter. Just to make sure he's alright. One of those times when you check on him, he isn't alright. He finally realized how mich you actually did for him.
Once he actually realizes though he sees you have moved one. He sees how much time you have had to change. Before you were always tired. You'd stay up waiting for Peter. And now that you didn't you looked a lot healthier. You were happier and spent much more time with your friends. When you were with Peter you barely talked to your friends because you always spent your time with him. You also wouldn't hang out with them because knowing that Peter was spiderman put you in danger, and if you spent time with other people, it could have put a target on their backs. (Don't mind me but listen to when I was your man by bruno mars whilst you read this)
Peter slowly but surely starts moving on. Very slowly. He starts eating more. He takes more care of himself. and he finally moves on
You both move one. You both make amends. And you both are happy.

Broken Tom Holland x Reader
Chapter 3: Diagnosis
jtlyk there are gonna have a flashback through out the story :)
Warning: swearing
Plot: Y/n and Tom were made for each other and have been married for nearly 10 years but what happens when they go through putrid rough patch?
Summary: Y/n goes to the doctor (flashback)
AUTHOR'S POV
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have spoken to you like that" you said trying to calm your nerves from your sudden outburst, but he was making this so fucking hard. You had absolutely every right to be livid at him, he made you move from your comfortable lodge to the apartment near the studio. It wasn't bad but the fact that you spent almost all of the 3 months alone, isolated, made your blood boil, especially in your condition.
"No. No your right. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I made you feel this way. I'm sorry that you are alone and I'm sorry that I spend way too much time at work. I'm sorry for everything. If I could go back in time and redo everything I would. But we can't. So from now on I will try my best to be at home. I'll try my best to treat you like the queen you are. Because you are my queen."
You were stunned. You didn't know how Tom would react but you definitely didn't expect him to react like...that. Moreover you were happy. You knew that he meant what he said. You knew he would try his best. You also knew that if you told him your secret now, everything would be ruined. But you knew you had to tell him. You knew that this wasn't going to go away anytime soon. This was something serious and the only way to get through this would be if you had Tom there to support you.
*Time skip*
AUTHORS POV
You and Tom went back to the loft happy and content about the progress that you had made with your relationship. Atleast that's what it seemed to him. He didn't know but you were slowly and painfully dying. You were a relatively active person. You had played volleyball in high-school and college. Even though you were very good at the sport you never pursued it as a career. So when you noticed the lack of energy you had, and how it had become painful to do your everyday exercise activities, you instantly knew something was wrong. You brushed it off at the beginning thinking it was the amount of stress you had or the lonleyness, but after a few days of not being able to move due to how swollen your knees and ankles were, you booked a doctors appointment. You had many tests done and even had a few MRI's done.
FLASHBACK
Y/N'S POV
I was sitting in the doctor's office, highly nervous and it was clearly visible. Despite the pain, my knees kept bounding up and down. I was worried, I didn't know what was going to happen. The one person I really needed right now was at work. Tom. It had always been Tom. He was there when I got the phone call from the hospital, saying that my mom was in the hospital. As soon as I had gotten that phone call I broke down. Tom was there for me. He was there for me when my mom died. He was there for me after my dad committed suicide. But where was he now? He sure as hell wasn't here. My doctor entered the room with a gloomy and disappointment expression.
AUTHORS POV
The doctor sighed, disappointed in the results of the MRI.
"Mrs. Holland, I'm sorry but the MRI has shown you have a cancerous tumor in your bone marrow. Normally a person who is diagnosed with bone cancer has the life expectancy of five years, but the tumor you have has slowly been progressing throughout your body. I'm surprised we weren't able to notice it before, but you have approximately 9 months left to live. It could be more it could be less, but at the rate your cancer is spreading it will be around 9 months."
Y/N POV
I was speechless. I had just found out that I had a cancerous tumor in my bone marrow. I. Had. Fucking. Cancer.
"Is there a cure?" I said while trying to do a million things in my head. I need to tell tom. I need to tell Nicki and Dom. I need to tell my friends. I have to get the funeral planned. I gotta do this I gotta do that. My brain was going 175 miles per minute.
"Fortunatley there is, we can do chemotherapy or we can do the medical procedures to separate the maintining tumor from your bones. Although the chemotherapy would take longer it is the most efficient. It is costly but your insurance should be able to pay for it. Try not to be stressed during the next fue months. The chemotherapy has a 35% chance of killing all of the cancer. Now as you can see there is a very low probability so I suggest you get your affairs in order just in case it doesn't work" the way the doctor gave me hope and then demolished it with the probability of chemo helping me out was so heartbreaking. I knew that if the cancer did end up killing me I needed to tell Tom but how? He was never home. I need to tell him.
END OF FLASHBACK
AH AH AH tehe please don't hate me this might seem a bit cliche or cringe but nevertheless this chapter was a fucking emotional load. It took me a lot of time to decide what type of cancer Y/n would have but in the end I decided on bone cancer bc my best friend died of bone cancer and I thought why not? Anyways ANY feedback is appreciated!

The First Date
Hello Hello!
This is a one-shot pairing Tom Holland x y/n. Believe it or not this is based on a real life event. I volunteer at a small cafe by my house and there were 2 people who just kept talking and talking, even after I closed up the shop. I honestly found this so endearing and lovable so I decided to turn that situation into a story <3. The whole story will be from the barista's point of view. Please don't hesitate to like comment or reblog. Hope you like it!
Have a Good day or Night Wherever you are! <3
Summary: tom and y/n go out on their first date and get a little help from the barista working that day.
Barista’s POV
I had just clocked into my shift, nose still bright pink from walking in the snowy, December London weather. Around 2:30 a guy with brown curly locks came through the door. In his hand he carried a red chrysanthemum. “Welcome! How may I help you today?” I say trying to be as cheerful as possible. “Hi, I'm actually waiting for someone, so I'm just going to sit down.” He says in response. I smile and nod lightly.
I continue cleaning the counters and tables, once in a while looking over to the boy. A few minutes later a woman, probably in her early 20’s walks inside looking around. Once she and I make eye-contact I discreetly point to the guy sitting at the table a few feet away from her. She makes her way over to him and they greet each other with a handshake, the guy gently hands over the flower. She seems mesmerized by the color, smiling, she thanks him for it. Cautiously I eavesdrop on their conversation. The guy's name is Tom and the girl’s name is y/n. This was their first date together.
Despite not having ordered anything I bring over two cups of hot chocolate to warm them up. They both thank me and continue talking. 3:30 I'm sweeping the back floor. 4:25 I'm cleaning the coffee machine. 5:00 I mop the floor. People start slowly leaving, realizing i’m cleaning up to start closing the cafe. 5:45 and I start putting the chairs in the back and covering the tables. At 6:00 I turn the lights in the kitchen off.
Tom suddenly alerted by the change in lighting, asks “oh, are you closing?”
I didn’t want them to feel like they had to cut their fun interaction short so I responded by saying “Yeah, but I'll leave the outdoor tables out for you so you two don’t have to leave yet.”
With that they get up, walk outside, and sit in the chairs. I grab my stuff, lock up and walk away, glad that I could help the budding romance on the first date.

Warnings: none I believe
AUTHORS POV
It had been a long day for Tom and y/n. After going to the premier of Spiderman: No Way Home, they decided to order some food and head back to their hotel.
You were sitting on the couch after taking a shower after Tom. Both of you decided to watch a movie and around half an hour into it, Tom started crying. You were concerned and instantly asked him if he was ok and if something was wrong.
He just turned to you and smiled. He said "I was just thinking about everything that you have done for me in the past 2 years. You are one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I love you y/n y/l/n"
In an instant you just smiled and started to tear up. Speechless you responded with, "Aw Tommy! I love you too! You have done so much for me from the moment I met you." With that both of you resumed watching the movie.
After the movie ended you went to put the popcorn bowl into the sink. When you went back to the living room you saw that Tom was no longer sitting on the sofa. You went looking for him in your bedroom and found him peacefully sleeping on the bed.
Quietly you creeped to your side of the bed and got under the covers. Tom heard the noice and slowly woke up. "Oh sorry baby I didn't mean to wake you" you said in a voice soft enough so it wouldn't completely wake him. Tom responded by saying "Its ok sweetheart, I had a dream. It was the day of our wedding. And we were the happiest we had ever been" Speechless for the second time that night you just smiled and cuddled up next to his warm figure.
Tom slowly reached over grabbed your hand and brought it up to his lips. He softly gave your hand a kiss and whispered to you, "One day I'll put a ring on your finger." "And one day I'll make you the happiest person in the universe."

Third Times the Charm
Hello Hello! This is by far one of my favorite things I have written! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Please don't hesitate to like, comment or reblog. It means so much to authors. It also gives them feedback. Anyways without further ado!
Tom Holland x Reader *Y/n Y/ln*
Warnings: Mentions of a fire. Calling 911. Weddings. Proposing
Summary: Tom tries repeatedly to pop the question.
Type: Fluff <3
AUTHORS POV
Tom had been trying to pop the question for months now. He asked for your father's blessing; he told his mum. He even asked Zendaya, your sister, and some of your other close friends for help on picking the ring, date, and place.
So when the day finally came for him to get down on one knee and ask for your hand in marriage, you had to postpone your date because your sister went into an early labor.
Tom reluctantly delayed the occasion and planned another date. This date was in a small family owned Vineyard somewhere in napa. The sun had started to set and just as you were about to turn around (Tom was already on his knee) you spotted that a part of the grape Vines had caught on fire. Hurriedly you called 911. At this point Tom had already gotten up and started to pack up your stuff so you could get out of there safely.
Exasperated by his multiple failed attempts to ask for your hand in marriage he decided that he would try one last time and if it didn't work he would wait a while longer. He thought "maybe the universe is purposefully trying to sabotage my plans because it's not time yet"
So the third time he tried to pop the question, he set a date in which he made sure you both had no plans or meetings going on. He drove you to a park somewhere downtown and he had a picnic set up.
He was very nervous, “What if she says no?” or “what if i mess up the speech?” “Third times the charm-Third times the charm-Third times the charm” he kept repeating to himself. If it didn't work out it was ok. But he just really wanted it to work out. Around an hour into the picnic he mentally psyched himself up one more time and as nervous as he was finally decided to pop the question.
“Y/n Y/l/n *you got this tom!* you are one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I love you more than anything in this world. I can guarantee there’ll be tough times.*he gets down on one knee* I guarantee that at some point one or both of us are gonna want to get out of this. *reaches into pocket* But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine *takes out the ring* I'll regret it for the rest of my life because I know in my heart you are the only one for me. Be with me now and forever?” At the end of his speech Tom’s whole face was flushed a bright red. Breathing heavily he looked into your eyes, looking, searching for any sign of rejection. But when he looked at you all he could see were the tears that were threatening to spill. He could only see your wide smile.
And as if the world suddenly stops, he sees your mouth opening. “YES YES OH MY GOD YES A MILLION TIMES YES!” you said nearly shouting. You were screaming, but at a reasonable level for a person who just got asked for their hand in marriage. Tom let out a sigh of relief finally being able to breathe again. You lunged at Tom and wrapped your arms around his neck, trapping him in a tight hug. When you both finally let go you saw Tom’s family and yours emerging from the trees surrounding both of you. Harry had a camera in hand and was clicking away. Nicki and Dom were in tears. Your sister was carrying her newborn, looking at you with one of the biggest smiles you have ever seen on her face. Her husband followed close behind. And your father beside him. Paddy walked in between his parents. Sam walked next to Harry, carrying a tray of delicious looking desserts. As they reach you and Tom, one by one congratulate you and engulfed you in big hugs. After giving them their love they talked with you guys. Both you and Tom explained your hopes and wishes for the wedding.
“Hey Tom?” you said to him as you were walking back to the car. “Yes Love?” “How many times did you try to propose?” Tom chuckled at the question. Eyes shining with love. “Believe it or not, I only tried three times.” Tom responded. “You know what they say Tommy, Third Times the Charm.”

Mmmm if I may come at this from a vaguely different perspective than what I typically see
Loki was abused by Odin. That's canonical. Frigga is an apologist for Odin's abuse. That is also canonical. If Frigga wasn't an apologist, the line "your father always has a purpose for everything he does" would not exist.
In this scene, Frigga refers to Odin as Loki's father, and Loki sets a hard and fast boundary: Odin is not Loki's father, and Loki doesnt want people to refer to him that way.
He has his reasoning. Odin is not his biological father, Odin has basically disowned him, himself, and Odin was abusive to Loki throughout his entire life.
Frigga doesn't respond to this with any degree of respect. She pulls a guilt-trip, in the form of asking if that means she's not his mother either.
Now we know perfectly well that Loki will estrange himself from whoever he wants to, and he won't from whoever he doesn't. In the script of the MCU, he disclaims Odin and Frigga as his family, but never once does he ever say Thor is not his family.
That's on purpose. Thor and Loki are still brothers.
It is only fair for an adopted child to decide for themself whether they accept the people who adopted him as family, especially if those adopters were abusive.
Frigga, in this scene, is drawing a line in the sand. She's saying that if Loki doesn't want Odin as a parent, he can't have Frigga as one, either. She's picking sides. She's choosing her husband over her son. And Loki lets her.
Why? Probably because this isn't the first time she's pulled this kind of baloney. He's not humoring her. If she wants to go there, she can stay there. It's not an easy thing for him to do. He's close to tears. But he set that boundary, that Odin isn't and shall not be referred to as his father, and he feels he needs to stick to his guns.
Frigga didn't need to go there. She knows she can be an influential person in Loki's life without being his mother. That's not her point. Her point was to be petty and dramatic over who Loki decides to label as his family. Loki could have (and absolutely should have been able to) estranged himself from Odin without leaving Frigga behind in that mix-up.
And then that next line she says makes my blood boil. "So perceptive, about everything but yourself."
PLEASE PAY HEED TO THE FACT THAT SHE JUST TOLD HIM TO HIS FACE THAT HE'S LYING TO HIMSELF ABOUT HIS OWN FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS.
She just presumed to know the contents of his head, and told him she knew him better than he knows himself.
Can I just say that is peak manipulation? She just gaslit him and everyone thinks that was so sweet and tender and sad that she'll never give up on her baby.
That's not what's happening.
She doesn't want her baby to relate to his family on any terms but her own, so she a) forces him into situations and choices that didn't need to be made and b) invalidates him when he makes the choice she doesn't like.
That face in the last gif is not a face of regret. That is a face of resigned irritation. He knows very well that he had to let go of the parent he had a better relationship with in order to let go of the one who was hurting him. He knows that didn't need to happen. He knows that Frigga brought that upon herself and now she's pissed over it.
And unfortunately she literally did die mad about it.
For all the Frigga lovers, I'm not saying Frigga's a bad person, but only because I don't believe in bad people. I think one of the worst things someone can do in Frigga's situation when she saw Odin abusing her children is exactly what she did: about eighty percent A Whole Lot of Nothing, and twenty percent trying to get the Bros to like Odin despite everything. The only reason I bring any of this up in the first place is because on surface level, this does look like Sweet Perceptive Mom Things To Say. So often when Frigga says anything it's that way, because that's how she's written.
But I see a lot of my own mother in Frigga, and not in a good way. Even if she isn't as obviously the bad guy as Odin, she's not a better parent than him. Most apologist parents have better relationships with their kids than the active abuse parents, because that is exactly how the apologist parents want it.
Tldr:
Thor: how do you deal with all this trauma?
Loki: I call my mama ☺️
Thor: that's beautiful man ☺️
Loki: ...call my mama a bitch >:)
“He’s not my father!”

Cartoonverse Timeline
Major spoilers if you haven't watched Hilda, The Owl House, Infinity Train and Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. This is a timeline concerning something I've made. And I will make changes to it by adding the things revealed in season 3 of Hilda. Which I think like I said, have changed things for the better with this timeline.
Especially it also changes whatever I had planned or...sadly with Hilda over. I can figure out things easier with some reveals. Yet I also worried that...I technically created my "MCU" with this.
Infinity Train Book 4: Duet. Ryan Akagi’s and Min-Gi Park’s journey on the train with Kez. The season where in the background, Amelia Hughes takes over the train. Taking place in what seems to be 1986.
For thirty-three years despite Amelia’s intentions to make the train better. Her selfishness gets the better of her and she inadvertently causes the birth of “The Apex” led by Grace Monroe and Simon Laurent.
Hilda season 1. Hilda and Johanna move to Trolberg. This season takes place throughout Late March/Early April to the end of June 1997 as Hilda gets used to living in Trolberg.
“An Owl Lady in Trolberg” the remake that is set after “The Black Hound” in Hilda and before “A Lying Witch and a Warden” in The Owl House. The first meeting between Johanna and Eda Clawthorne. Still taking place in 1997 in Trolberg.
The Owl House season 1 beings. When Luz Noceda enters the Boiling Isles and meets Eda and King. This is the beginning of Summer 2020 in the dimension of The Owl House.
For the next three months, Eda and Johanna start dating. And during this time, Eda and Hilda begin hanging out a few times. Such as Eda giving Hilda a ride on her staff.
“An Owl Lady’s Second Chance” by Rysenkari happens sometime during season 1 of The Owl House. Where Eda and Johanna engage in an interesting activity where they confess their love for each other.
Hilda season 2 begins with Erik Ahlberg taking over of the Safety Patrol and changing things in Trolberg for the worst.
But after “Chapter 3: The Witch” in Hilda season 2, the portal door is destroyed by Luz in “Young Blood, Old Souls” thus cutting off a way for Eda to go back to Trolberg to meet Johanna again.
The Owl House season 2 begins. And throughout season 2, things start changing for the worst with the Day of Unity approaching. Along with Eda reuniting with Raine Whispers despite thinking about her past with Johanna.
Yet because of Eda and Johanna interacting...something happened. That would affect later down this timeline.
“Yesterday’s Lie” takes place during the end of Summer in 2020 where Luz discovers that Vee had been pretending to be her. This is also when Camila discovers what actually happened to Luz.
Infinity Train Book 1: The Perennial Child. Tulip Olsen’s journey to the engine of the train with One-One and Atticus. And the end of Amelia’s thirty yearlong takeover of the train. This takes place in 2019.
Infinity Train Book 2: Cracked Reflection. MT’s/Lake’s journey to escape the train with Jesse Cosay and Alan Dracula. This also takes place in 2019 sometime after book 1 ends.
The Owl House “Kings Tide” happens. Resulting in Luz and her friends being stuck in the human realm while Eda, King and others are stuck in the demon realm of the Boiling Isles. This happens during the Mid-Fall of 2020.
In 2023 in a different dimension. Where superheroes and all sorts of things exist. “Moon Girl Landing” happens when Lunella Lafayette uses a teleporter that brings Devil Dinosaur into New York City. They later become superheroes with Lunella taking the name Moon Girl from one of her personal heroes. They have been superheroes for a few months. Having fought villains like Aftershock, Gravitas, the Muzzlers and others. Even with the Beyonder having watched Lunella and considering her the smartest human on Earth.
But before the events of "OMG Issues 1 & 2" happen. "A Shocking Return" happens. When Aftershock returns, Lunella and Devil ambush and kidnap her. But Lunella struggles what to do with Aftershock now. Despite Aftershock's extremely nasty comments and Lunella's heated discussions with her. Because of how kind Casey treated her, and even Lunella later on. Aftershock escapes but leaves without harming the two girls. Wondering what to do with her future.
After this, Lunella learns more about the original Moon Girl, who she was. And takes on Morlak and the Enclave. So, until season 2 airs, I am assuming Lunella will come back safely from that other dimension.
Infinity Train Book 3: Cult of the Conductor. Grace and Simon’s journey to return to the mall car and meeting Hazel and Tuba on the way. It is unknown which year this takes place in. But considering Amelia has been helping One-One for a while. It’s possible this could take place in 2020.
But in this world compared to the canon. Episodes 9 and 10 don’t happen in the same way. After Simon discovers Grace has been lying to him about Hazel. He makes the decision to kidnap Amelia and leave the others.
“The False Prophet” instead happens. Where Simon holds Amelia hostage to sacrifice her the next day. When Grace and Hazel return to the mall car, they are taken hostage as well. Similar events from “The Origami Car” and “The New Apex” happen, but in different ways. But it still ends with Grace and Simon fighting. The results are different this time where Simon is not killed by a Ghom, but saved by Grace instead. He runs away, horrified and confused by the situation.
Having endure almost 12 hours of being kidnapped, Amelia apologizes to Grace and Hazel for her comments. She leaves Hazel with Grace instead.
“Letting It Out” happens. A week after their terrifying ordeal, Grace and Hazel confide in each other as they express what they went through together.
Two days after that. "Maybe One Day" happens where Grace and Amelia catch up with each other, also talking about the ordeal they went through. Along with talking about the future, especially about Hazel's future.
“The Stone Forest” in the dimension of Hilda happens where Hilda, Johanna and Twig become trapped in the Stone Forest and surrounded by Trolls. After two days of being in there, they escape. But a day later, Hilda for some reason is replaced with Baba in bed.
Hilda and the Mountain King immediately happens. Hilda is transformed into a troll, trying to find her way to become a human again. While Johanna and others try to get her back. Meanwhile, Erik Ahlberg soon makes things worse as the tensions between humans and trolls increases as more trolls get closer to the city.
During the events, Hilda is reunited with Johanna. And soon afterwards, the Mountain King, Trundle makes himself a martyr as he is killed by Erik Ahlberg. Hoping that Amma, the mother and grandmother of all Trolls rises from below Trolberg to destroy the city. But it stops when Hilda is able to get Erik to stop what he is doing, saving the city in the process. And thus, creating peace between humans and Trolls as they are now allowed in the city one night a year. This takes place during early Spring 1998.
After months of not being able to return, “Thanks To Them”, “For The Future” and “Watching and Dreaming” happen in The Owl House. Luz and others are able to return back to the Boiling Isles and save everybody. A string of events happens in what appears to be maybe THREE DAYS...the last day being on Halloween Night.
But a day before Luz and the others returned to the Boiling Isles. "An Owl Lady's Confession" takes place where Eda finally confesses the truth about her relationship with Johanna to her ex, Raine Whispers. Who is sadly a puppet at that time.
All of this, "Thanks To Them, "For The Future" and "Watching and Dreaming" takes place during "The Stone Forest" and Hilda and the Mountain King. With "The False Prophet" happening before them and leading into "Letting It Out" and "Maybe One Day". Those last two are taking place during the events in Hilda and The Owl House.
With Belos killed and everyone safe. A week after that, a new portal to the human realm is made. And thus, after months of not seeing each other. Eda is able to return to Trolberg and meet with Johanna again. With Johanna...reacting to what Eda tells her about with...an interesting reaction. Including with Raine finally meeting Johanna for the first time.
Sometime after Eda and others travel to Trolberg as the reconstruction of the Boiling Isles happens. Along with Trolberg becoming a better place again. A glitch happens on the Infinity Train.

I watched Across the Spider verse and there are a few things that didn't really click with me - like the fact that it didn't even end on a cliffhanger, the movie just straight up ends before the climax (really I thought my bootleg was cut short at first) and the art style was a bit too messy for my taste, I found it difficult to understand what was happening on screen- but what really annoys me most is their take on bad guys vs good guys.
Granted, we don't see how it ends so we don't know how things are going play out. But consider the first movie, it could boil down to "bad guy messes up the multiverse because he wants to get back loved ones". It's not a very innovative take, many many parallel universe plots hinge on this. Hell, I think the MCU even uses this concept a couple of times so you don't have to look very far. However, in this Spiderman, or at the least the first movie, messing with the multiverse to save your loved ones is BAD. It has consequences (multiverse collapse in Kingpin's case, your one world being destroyed for Miguel and, sort of, Pavitr's worlds).
But suddenly, the narrative frames Miles as a good guy for doing the same thing. Miles wanting to save his dad is good and the spider people trying to stop him are bad. It's not even very subtle because of the exchange "I thought we were supposed to be the good guys" Close up ton a blood shot eyed, scowling and absolutely villainous Miguel "we are" said in the most murderous way. Note that Miles doesn't know how to stop his world from collapsing, he doesn't have a plan. WE know it's gonna be alright because he has plot armor as the main character, but no one in the actual movie can know that. He is doing exactly what Kingpin did in the first movie but there isn't a shred of moral struggle at all, no hints that make Miles more morally grey. You are supposed to see him as the good guy and the antagonists as bad guys. He really says he's gonna sacrifice all worlds for one guy and we gotta be okay with that.
Now, since we couldn't stand such moral ambiguity for some reason, the writers came up with the perfect cop out - Miles his an outliner, an anomaly! It's gonna be fine even if he saves his dad because he was never supposed to be Spider-Man to begin with. The world is not gonna collapse. Pretty sure they're also gonna come up with some trivial excuses to spare Gwen's dad as well. I find this super cheap. Instead of solving the conflict we just take it out of the picture. But even if this happens, the characters aren't aware.

Start Over
Pairing: Bucky x Reader
Summary: You and Bucky are on a mission together, though you’d both prefer to be anywhere else. Will your dislike for each other stand in the way of your health after he finds out you were injured, or can you overcome your differences?
The order:
Entrée (appetizer): “What’s it going to take for you to trust me?”
Plat Principal (main course): “Les héros” - MCU canon-ish
Garniture (sides): Caretaking (pain/sick/injury) + bonus side: enemies to friends/lovers
Déssert (dessert): “Salé/Sucré” - Angst with happy ending
Word count: 2k (another drabble failure)
Warnings: vomiting (twice, though brief and not super descriptive), reference to wound care
A/n: My second request for my 400 follower celebration is for the always supportive @goldylions! This was another treat to write. Somehow it ended up with an extra side of enemies to lovers, though maybe less dessert angst than you were expecting so sorry about that. Hope you enjoy it!
It was the nausea that woke you. You could feel the blood drain from your face as your mouth started to salivate yet dry up all at once. You flung off the covers and sprinted to the bathroom down the hall from your room in the safe house, slamming the door behind you as you made it to the toilet just in time.
Nothing but bile. Probably an infection.
“Great,” you huffed out, feeling pain radiate from the gash on your shoulder. You could have sworn you flushed it out completely. Apparently not enough.
Shakily, you pulled yourself up with your uninjured arm, using the counter beside the toilet as leverage. After splashing some cold water on your burning face, you swished your mouth out. Then drying yourself you flipped the hood of your sweatshirt up in attempts to warm your now chill-wracked body before quietly making your way to the kitchen.
You had just put the kettle on the stove when you heard the floor creak.
“Did I wake you?” you muttered without turning around, knowing full well Bucky could hear you even if you whispered.
He scoffed at your failed attempt at an apology. “No, just the herd of elephants that ran down the hall a few minutes ago. Guess they disappeared.”
“Funny guy,” you quipped back in annoyance, grabbing a mug from the cupboard with your good side. You then reached for the tea tin and found a lone bag of Moroccan mint—your go-to for when you felt sick.
Bucky knew this tendency and didn’t miss your selection—or the fact that you were keeping one arm close to your chest. A fleeting flash of concern washed over his features before settling back to frustration.
“Sorry if my humour doesn’t stand up to your bird boyfriends.”
You whipped your head around, annoyance morphing into anger now that he’d brought Sam and Clint into the conversation.
“Look, James,” you had noticed how he winced when you used his full name, so you saved it for when you were really angry. “Just because I laugh with those two—because they actually seem to enjoy spending time with me—doesn’t give you the right to be a dick. Some of us actually care about our teammates,” you jabbed. You could see the flinch of pain flicker at the corners of his eyes before his face went stern again.
“Care? You think I don’t care about my teammates?”
“Sure as hell looked that way today,” you shrugged, your back turned as you poured the now boiled water slowly over your tea bag to let it steep.
“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” his voice raised, a hint of a waver present, as if he was actually shocked by your statement.
“Oh come off it,” you groaned, turning to face him again. The blood was starting to drain again. Shit. You swallowed thickly before continuing. “You go off on your little kill all the Hydra agents vendetta, leaving me to fend for myself.”
You swallowed again, an effort to will away the second wave of nausea building in your stomach.
“Are you serious right now? I was trying to get those agents off your tail! If I hadn’t gone on my fucking vendetta, you wouldn’t even be standing here now!”
“Oh, please! They wouldn’t have even known we were there if you hadn’t killed those first two guards. We had an easy in and out. But noooo, you had to play the revenge card."
You were shivering, finding it hard to keep your saliva down now.
“I told you, they were going to kill you if I hadn’t gone after them! They clearly knew where you were headed! Goddammit, Y/n, what’s it going to take for you to trust me?”
“Maybe sticking to the plan that Steve gave us?! Maybe not leaving me alone to battle five guards at once?! Maybe having my back so I don’t get stabbed?! I didn’t even get the damn h-hard drive b-before—” but you couldn’t finish your sentence.
You slapped your hand to your mouth and ran past Bucky, pushing him into the wall with your free arm, allowing you to beeline to the washroom in time. You weren’t about to vomit in front of him.
“Stabbed?” Bucky questioned under his breath before turning around to follow you down the hall. “Shit, Y/n, are you ok?” he called out. His angry tone had quickly transformed into distress.
“Just peachy,” you responded, wiping your mouth with the back of your hand. You flushed the toilet and leaned back against the cold bathtub. Your teeth were chattering and all you wanted was to curl up in bed, but your arm was throbbing and you suddenly felt so weak.
“Can I come in?” he asked, his voice velvet soft now. You could tell he was standing just outside the bathroom, not wanting to enter without your permission.
“Suit yourself,” you managed out with hushed resignation.
You hadn’t yet opened your eyes, but you could hear him. A cupboard opened and closed. Then the tap was turned on then off. A few drips in the sink. Then the sound of Bucky crouching down beside you. Your eyes finally flicked open at the sensation of a cool cloth on your forehead.
“Wha—what are you doing?” you stuttered out, shocked at the sudden tender gesture.
“You’re sick. Looked like you were burning up.” His statement was quiet and soft as his touch. “Isn’t this what teammates do? Take care of each other?”
You blinked, unable to find words to respond to his gentle sincerity.
Deep down your frustration with James Buchanan Barnes had developed in defense of what you had always interpreted as rejection. He was silent around you. Never laughed at your jokes the way the others did. Steve had told you he needed some time to get comfortable around people, though you just assumed you were too much for him.
But the way his blue eyes were currently scanning your face with worry, his metal hand gently patting your neck with the damp washcloth while his flesh hand gauged your forehead for fever. It was throwing your heart for a loop. Suddenly your frustration dissipated into his cooling touch and all you wanted were his arms around you.
“James,” you whispered.
Maybe it was your dulcet tone, but Bucky didn’t wince this time.
“Y/n,” he whispered back.
“I was stabbed and I think it’s infected,” you pouted.
“I gathered that, based on the barfing and fever.”
You scoffed at his mocking.
“Will you let me look at it? Maybe clean it again?” He was being serious now and you could see the worry in his gaze. “If it’s this bad after a day I might need to head out and get some supplies. We’re not supposed to get a pick up until the day after tomorrow.”
You groaned softly, shutting your eyes. But you slowly moved to comply, unzipping your hoodie, wincing slightly at your attempt to remove the piece of clothing with your one good arm.
“Here, sweetheart, let me help you.”
Bucky didn’t seem to notice the pet name, but you sure did. Your stomach was doing somersaults, and it wasn’t a third wave of nausea.
After removing your sweatshirt, then your t-shirt, you were left shivering in just your sports bra. Bucky’s cheeks flushed but he made sure his eyes never veered from your face or your arm.
Quickly regaining focus, he sucked in a breath as he surveyed your wound. “That’s definitely infected, doll.”
“Thanks, captain obvious,” you smirked, but there was no malice in your voice this time. It was soft and almost timid. Bucky’s blush turned to a deeper crimson, causing him to swallow thickly before he continued.
“Let me flush it with saline, and a hot compress to pull some of the infection out. Then we can put some antibiotic cream on it. That should tide you over until I can get some real antibiotics for you tomorrow.”
“M’kay,” you managed out. You felt helpless all of a sudden.
After grabbing what he needed from the first aid kit, Bucky maneuvered you over the tub to flush your wound out. He then wrapped your good side with your hoodie to warm you before sitting cross-legged in front of you. You hissed when he first placed the hot compress over your arm.
“Sorry. Gotta keep it there for five minutes. You can lean on me if you want,” he offered in a low voice, noticing you struggle to keep your eyes open.
You muttered a “thanks” as you allowed yourself to slowly fall forward and rest your head on his chest. You could hear his heartbeat. Fast. Steady. It was comforting.
He fumbled one-handed with his phone, managing to send a message to Steve requesting an early pick-up. The confirmation came in a few minutes later. You would have to walk a few kilometres but the quinjet would be there tomorrow morning.
“Stevie’s sending a jet for us tomorrow.”
“Hmmm,” you mustered.
“Y/n,” he chuckled, “you’re going to have to let me get you up and to bed now.”
“Mmmcomfortable here though.”
“C’mon doll. How about I lie with you in your bed, that way you can wake me if you need anything,” he spoke softly by your ear as he removed the compress from your arm.
“M’kay.” You didn’t even have to think about it.
Once Bucky had redressed your wound, you allowed him to move you like a rag-doll, gently guiding you back to your room. He settled you in the bed before climbing under the blankets. Then he helped maneuver you onto his chest, allowing him to wrap his prosthesis around you and place his metal hand on your forehead. You hummed at the comfort of it, bringing a smile to his face.
“Comfortable?” he asked, chuckling faintly at your reaction.
“Hmmhmm… Feels nice.”
“Glad it’s good for somethin’ other than killing,” he said gingerly, letting his chin press into the top of your head.
You sensed the hint of shame in his voice. “You’re not a killer, Buck,” you corrected, your fingers gently playing with his dog tags against his bare chest.
“Hate to break it to you, sweetheart, but it’s kind of a known fact.”
“Wasn’t you, though. You’re… good,” you stated matter of factly.
“I thought I was a dick that didn’t care about his teammates,” he said with sarcasm.
“That was before I realized you don’t actually hate me,” you admitted meekly.
Bucky was stunned.
“Hate you? Y/n, I could never… I always thought you hated me?”
You wriggled out from his hold slightly so you could meet his eyes. “I guess we kind of messed this one up, didn’t we.”
“Sure did, sweetheart.”
“Want to start over?” you suggested, barely above a whisper.
Something melted in his heart. The way your eyes sparkled looking up at him did things to him that he hadn’t felt in over seventy years.
“I’d like that.”
As if to seal the truce, he leaned down and pressed his lips tenderly into your forehead, lingering for an extended moment.
“You’re still warm. You should rest,” he whispered into your hairline.
Not waiting for your reply, he tugged you back onto his chest and pulled the duvet around you. Then he placed his vibranium hand back over your fevered brow.
“Wake me if you need anything, k?”
He felt you nod on his chest, your lips still curled up in a smile.
You were eons away from the bickering teammates that had been forced on a mission together a day earlier. It was oddly familiar. As if your physical forms had simply been waiting for your emotions to catch up.
Bucky sighed, pressing his lips into the top of your head.
“G’night, Y/n.”
You sighed back, a wave of relief flooding through your fever chilled body.
“G’night, Bucky.”
It wasn’t completely fixed. But it was a start.

Why is it so hard for Marvel writers to finally have someone apologize to Loki, admit they hurt him? Dont bring 'but he hurt people too' into this discussion. This isnt about wether Loku is absolutely innocent little boy, he isnt, Im not saying that.
But he has also been hurt, accussed of things he didnt do, betrayed, punished for no reason, et cetera, and no MCU character ever has admitted that, not apologized to him. Nor the writers. None (at least in recent years) has said that this character has wrongly accused Loki of something and they are wrong. None of writers took his side. He is always wrong and he needs to back off and fall on his knees and beg for forgiveness.
Even in his own show!!! After 10 years!!! He was the one portrayed as the bad guy and he was the one who was on his knees and apologizing. They are all angels around him I guess.
That is my question. Why can't writers give us that? Are they so afraid of somebody, anybody, apogizing to the scapegoat?
Mobius sends him to Asgard to be kicked into balls for hours. For nothing. He hasnt done anything wrong. Then he comes,he talks about tva but not a word of apology, nothing, and fans are fooled by that 'you can be anyone even someone good' and thats it they are friends. Loki was supposed to get an apology. But he is still written as the bad guy and Mobius is the good one, despite sending Loki to suffer, because framing says Loki deserved it. He didnt. He done nothing wrong.
Let me tell you a story. I was watching something on YT about this guy who was wrongfuly accused of robbing a gas station. He swore he didnt do it & he even had several eye witnesses who saw him in his backyard and talked to him at the exact time gasstation was being robbed. They sentenced him to prison because he was on parole and the clerk said it was him, despite the fact the man who robbed the place had sunglasses. And in comment section I saw one comment. I quote: I dont care even if he didnt rob the gas station. I cant feel sorry for a man who has already committed a crime before.
This reminded me of Loki immediately. Because this is how most people treat him. His own fans too. He didnt do anything wrong, and yet he keeps being punished & hurt all over again, and yet All I see is "but he did kill 80 people he kinda deserves it".
This makes my blood boil. Noone will ever apologize to him, because writers see him as the guy who did this one thing, and that serves them as excuse to use him as punching bag.

Hey!
Feel free to ignore this if this isn’t appealing to you, but honestly I’m simping over Carol Denvers and could really go for some steamy fluff with her x reader.
Maybe just a dinner date gone dirty talk? Do whatever you want with this! :) Have a great day.
Completely Yours
Relationship: Carol Danvers x Reader
Warnings: Steamy, but not smutty
Word Count: 1.8k
A/N: amazingly, I actually already had a piece I wrote last year that kind of falls into these suggestions! i tweaked the ending a bit from my original writing to hopefully make it more on the steamy side. and there's an element of jealousy/protective Carol. So, I hope this works okay! I immediately thought of it after reading your request :) Also I absolutely love Carol, one of my favorite MCU characters <3 I have a few pieces already written for her but only published on ao3 (and a previous writing blog)

You stared at your lipstick collection, completely baffled by the choices. Was the red lip too bold for your lacy black dress? But was the pink lip too simple? Maybe the dress was the problem…
"Stop it," you mumbled to yourself and grabbed the wine red lipstick. You were nearly humored with your brain’s antics. There shouldn’t be anything to overthink given the fact you’ve been on countless dates with Carol. Heck, you don’t even remember being this nervous for your very first date, but, perhaps, the fact this was an anniversary date was maybe getting to you a bit.
You two were two years into the relationship but you still wanted to give it your all especially on such an occasion. You both had been so busy with one thing or another for your first anniversary so there was a lingering duty to make it up — and that’s exactly why the glam had to be perfect, no matter how many times Carol insisted you were gorgeous without it.
A knock came from the bathroom door as you were finishing with the lipstick.
"Babe," Carol called out. "Almost ready?"
You gave your hair a quick glance over and exited the bathroom. You were greeted by your stunning girlfriend all dolled up and looking as lovely as ever.
"All good," you smiled, shamelessly eyeing her.
She gave a knowing smirk, "You look so beautiful."
"Maybe we both clean up well," you teased, shrugging.
Your girlfriend just rolled her eyes at your antics and motioned towards the front door. You grabbed your purse and started heading ahead of Carol. But being the cheeky girlfriend she is, she couldn’t let you get far without giving a teasing tap on your behind. Now it was your turn to shoot her the eye roll which she just laughed away, following you out the door.
***
The restaurant was a busy scene tonight and upon noticing the patrons and their seemingly wandering eyes, Carol was on you in full protective mode. This could’ve been expected no matter where you two had gone and you’ve had to come to terms with that. Carol was quite the protective type and typically you adored it but honestly, it wasn’t necessary in your eyes. There wasn’t a thing — or person — in the world that could whisk you away from your love.
Choosing to ignore her change in demeanor, you pushed through the crowd to the hostess table.
"Thank gosh we made reservations," you said as the hostess left to check on the table.
But your girlfriend didn’t quite hear you. She gave a hum in response while fixated on something at the bar in the corner of the restaurant. You tried figuring out what held her attention but couldn’t pick anything out. Maybe she thought she saw someone she knew? But you dismissed it as you saw the hostess motioning you to follow her to your reserved table.
The two of you settled in and started flipping through the menu. Carol seemed to be occupied by the food selection, which gave you some sense of relief. Fingers crossed whatever had her captivated before had vanished. At one point she even grabbed your hand for a bit, running her thumb on the back of it lovingly as you two browsed.
It wasn’t until the waiter came by for the drink order that you realized she had her guards up the entire time.
"What can I get you two to drink?" The waiter asked.
"Glass of Pinot Grigio for me," you said, turning back to the food items.
When you didn’t hear Carol’s lovely voice responding with her drink order, you glanced up to find her still staring behind you.
"Um, could you give us a second?" You asked the waiter. They just gave a polite smile and headed towards the kitchen.
You sighed, slamming your menu on the table. That got your girlfriend’s attention.
"Carol, what is going on? Is there a galactic threat behind me or something?"
"Honey, no," Carol sighed. "It’s just… This guy at the bar keeps looking at you."
Your jaw dropped. "That’s what this is about? You’re gonna be distracted our entire anniversary dinner because you think some guy is looking at me?"
Carol’s once rigid expression quickly turned soft at your tone. She grabbed your hand across the table, trying to soothe your rising anger. Shaking her head, she said, "No, babe, that’s ridiculous of me."
You put your other hand on hers, nodding. "It is ridiculous. There is nothing worth ruining this night over, okay? You’ve got me, baby, I’m not going anywhere."
"Forever?" She smirked.
"Forever," you mumbled as you leaned across the table to give her a kiss which she happily leaned into.
***
The dinner went very well after Carol calmed down. Drinks helping to ease any worry. You two flirted and giggled as if it was the first all over again and, boy, did it feel magical. Pasta was eaten, wine was sipped… and even kisses were stolen like lovestruck school girls. The man at the bar had been completely forgotten by both of you.
After you two finished your dessert (with a side of Carol’s cheeky comments about dessert after the dessert), you had to run to the restroom. Carol nodded and said she’d wait for you at the front of the restaurant.
With a quick kiss, you departed from the table. In the restroom, you did some make-up retouch up. The night was just heating up in your eyes and you still wanted to look like an absolute dream for your woman — not to mention you were quite antsy from the constant teasing.
After a quick powder and recollecting your items, you reemerged from the restroom. You were fumbling for your phone in your purse, making your way to the restaurant exit, when you slammed into something hard.
A bit dazed, you look up expecting a sudden wall or pole, but instead you were met by some handsome, well-dressed man uncomfortably close. He was smirking down at you, making your cheeks burn in embarrassment.
"Sorry, sir. I wasn’t looking where I was going." You said, giving your fakest, most polite smile.
Apparently, it worked too well because the man’s smirk turned into a smile with his eyes curiously watching you.
"Trust me, sweetheart, it’s all good."
The pet name made your stomach turn, red flags waving. You let out a breathy laugh and tried stepping around him, but he blocked your attempt.
"Sir, I have someone waiting-,"
"Oh, the girl you were with?" He asked. You gulped realizing this wasn’t any man, this was the man Carol had been nervous about. You really didn’t think there was any man staring at you and that it was just Carol's paranoia kicking in. But no, your girlfriend had been rightfully cautious and you were kicking yourself for being doubtful.
"Sir, really-,"
"I think your friend wouldn’t mind waiting," he said, not only cutting you off but blocking you again with his broad body, his hand coming near your side as if trapping you.
"She’s my girlfriend," you snapped back, blood boiling at his game. "So, I’m not interested."
"Oh, a girlfriend! That could make this a lot more interesting-"
"Hey!" A voice boomed from the dining room entrance. All heads turned towards your clearly pissed-off girlfriend, heels hot marching towards you. She was steaming — well, maybe nearly glowing — with anger. "Get away from her."
"Ah, it’s the girlfriend-,"
"You’re damn right it’s the girlfriend," Carol snapped, eyeing him quite intensely. You knew there wasn’t much stopping her from taking him down this second. "And now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to take my girl home."
She didn’t even let him get in another syllable before grabbing your hand and leading you to the exit. Patrons eyes were still focused on the rampage occurring but you were way too focused on your girlfriend. You weren’t sure you had ever personally witnessed this side of her. Sure, you two had arguments before, but this was… A lot. She was scared, angry, frustrated… A bottle waiting to explode.
When you two made it back to the car, you went to console Carol but she never gave you a chance. Within seconds you were pressed against the passenger side door, her lips hot and ferocious against yours. She moved with such anger, such passion, you almost let yourself get lost in it but you knew it wouldn’t solve anything like talking would.
"Honey," you gasped for air, pushing Carol gently off of you. You cupped her face with shaking hands. "Hey, I’m sorry."
"No, it’s just…" She pulled away, arms flailing in defeat. "I knew it! I knew that asshole would… God! Why do you have to be so beautiful?"
You sighed, your gaze drifting to your hands, picking at your nude nail polish. "I really didn’t think there was anyone looking at me."
"You innocent, gorgeous woman," Carol chuckled in disbelief. "I feel like I’m always shooing men away from you."
"It shouldn’t matter," you said, grabbing your girlfriend’s nervous hands. "I’m yours, honey. I am yours."
Carol hummed in appreciation and moved closer to you. "Mine?"
You nodded, watching her go from frazzled to lusting. She closed the gap, nearly towering over you as you leaned against the car. Her sweet, strong face was barely illuminated by the streetlights but you saw the love come back to her eyes.
"Really mine?" She asked again as she effortlessly dipped her head and started kissing up your neck. Her hand began making its way down your side, past your hips, where it began caressing the inside of your thigh.
"Yes, Carol, yes!" You giggled, squirming under her actions.
Her kisses made their way up to your face. She whispered so lovingly in your ear, "Maybe, we should get home, then, and you could show me." She paused. "Because I'm definitely itching to show you just how much you mean to me, baby. You wouldn't believe the ideas running through my head."
Briefly, her fingers lingered over your clothed core. You sighed.
"Maybe we should just find somewhere private around here?" you whispered back, motioning towards the backseat door. "I don’t know if I can wait."
And that was very much true. You could already feel yourself soaking through the material of your panties.
"You little minx," your girlfriend laughed, placing a needy kiss on your lips, her thigh subtly grinding into you. "You’re going to kill me one day."
You moaned, pressing yourself against her, your body burning with need. "Not if you kill me first."
