I do not care about canon or what DC says, Black Canary sings metal, or at least rock. (And for the uncultured people, metal isn't just screaming. Go listen to Ghost In The Rain by Beast In Black, their singer has been gifted by the gods)

Firstly, she has the look, the aesthetic for it. She would have some great costumes. Secondly, it's usual to have trouble hearing for days after a metal concert, so it fits her power very well.

I gots a question. In the comic keralis tried to sacrifice jimmy but it backfired cause hes besties with the ravagers (which btw look adorable in your art style)

Is there actually a way to kill him in the game without turning him into pretty lil yellow thingies? Intentionally or accidentally.

The can be despawned by anything that would hurt a player in the dungeon! So if he fell in lava/wither roses or was hit by vex or the player hit him, he would despawn immediately. He also despawns if the player wanders too far away from him or raises the clank too high on their own. The point of him is to safely and as quickly as possible guide the player to the artifact. He's basically as vulnerable to the dungeon as the player is, he just doesn't get a second chance and is aware of all the present dangers (and warns the player about them when he stops singing)

Basically if Jimmy dies it's going to be the player's fault. Functionally it's dropping your hp to 1 in exchange for the quickest passage to the artifact. It's not at all balanced but it's not a real card so it doesn't matter

By the way... I might have said this before but I was partially inspired by the unfinished fic 'lay my curse down to rest'. It's one of my favourites and I love the idea of Jimmy having a relationship with the dungeon he's a canary in.

As for "actually" killing him, there's no way due to the despawning mechanic. Realistically it happens in an instant, but he's gotta be a little dramatic about these sorts of things, it's their enrichment.

AUs i’m not sure that i’ll ever write, so i’ll make a post with headcanons part 1: rockstar!abc boys:

hmr is an entertainment company with ceo mikoto, manager kusanagi, soloist totsuka, hip-hop duo yata and kamamoto, and the abc boys forming a rock band (anna is a trainee who isn’t set to debut yet). the agency is originally small and at the verge of bankruptcy. their artists and trainees would have to share cramped dorms, stuffy studio rooms, and aggressively promote their music via social media and sometimes even handing out flyers advertising their concert in the busy streets of shizume

i am being biased but i can see shouhei as the lead singer. he just has a very charismatic and outgoing personality that fits as the frontman of the band. although eric is definitely not the type to sing, i like to think he offers some vocals only because his japanese va has a nice voice lmaoo. chitose can also fill the role of the sub vocalist, but i like the idea of him being the playboy main guitarist. fuji is the drummer, bandou and dewa are the bass players, while eric also plays the guitar

the abc boys originally start out as an underground rock group with a small, but loyal fanbase. slowly but surely, they see a growth in their popularity with them doing numbers on their newer music, tickets selling out in big arenas, being invited to multiple award shows, and even winning some big awards.

thats not to say the boys end up becoming this squeaky clean, bubblegum pop boyband. a good chunk of their popularity comes from their rebellious, bad boy image. vulgar lyrics and music videos, multiple controversies such as rowdy parties that end up destroying whatever hotel room theyre renting, chitose (accidentally) scorning indie singer maria, diss tracks about other artists, getting into fights and other scandals, etc.

the boys are two years in their career when one of their rival companies debut a pop girl group. and unlike the boys, this girl group’s debut is highly anticipated since they’re from an established and rich company with other popular artists as their predecessors. so its no surprise that the group’s first mv and pre-release track debuts with high numbers

the girl group is composed of four members. each member is inspired from celebrities/characters from different media based on physical character traits or personality traits:

miyako: the eldest and the lead vocalist who is known for her ice princess like visuals. off camera, she is the easy-going mom friend of the group who comes from a wealthy family with a background in business. inspo: jisoo from kpop group blackpink, donna troy/wondergirl from dc comics, and kuchiki rukia from bleach

izumi: main rapper and self-proclaimed leader of the group. blunt and aloof, izumi is hard to impress and has a fondness for punk fashion and music. inspo: dinah lance/black canary and artemis crock from dc comics/shows, nana osaki from nana, with a little dash of jennie from blackpink (jennie’s onscreen personality during music videos)

kaoru: main dancer and lead rapper. a tomboyish girl who loves to have fun, but has a bad temper and can be kind of a bully. inspo: buttercup from powerpuff girls, lisa from blackpink, artemis crock and raven from dc

sakuno: the center and the main vocalist of the group. as the youngest and most soft-spoken of the group, she learned how to use her girlish charms and looks to get what she wants. inspo: nana komatsu and a bit of reira from nana, bubbles and blossom from ppg, jennie and rosé from blackpink.

despite the genres of both groups being completely different from the other and the girls being a newer group, it doesn’t stop the media and their fans from constantly comparing them, with the boys being one of the biggest groups around and the girls rapidly gaining popularity.

at first, the boys don’t pay that much attention to the girls. they’re hot girls doing pop music, of course a lot of virgins are gonna eat that shit up. but the more comparisons they see by fans and the media, the more articles they see about the girls possibly surpassing them and being better than them, the more it gets to them. like wtf? why the fuck are they always getting compared to this group of privileged girls who gets everything handed to them on a plate?? unlike those snobby little princesses, they actually worked hard and earned their success. they actually write and produce their own fucking music, instead of sitting in the studio room and looking pretty, while someone else writes their lyrics for them

the girls weren’t too sure on how to feel about the guys at first. while they admired the fact that the boys were able to pave a path for themselves to stardom despite being from a broke company, they’re a bit wary about them. the boys have been involved in a lot of feuds, which got them on the bad side of the general public here and there. and sure, they don’t always start shit, but they always play dirty in response. some of the members don’t even have the best reputation with women, which doesn’t help their case

It also doesnt help that even though their fans are always beefing, theres still a large portion of them that ships members of both groups with each other. This helps to be a great marketing strategy by the girls’ company, making sure to have the boys name dropped frequently in articles or bios about the girls, comparing their success and labeling them as each other’s counterpart, which boosts their engagement.

but despite all the constant comparisons, both groups avoid the hell out of each other whenever theyre in the same public setting (i.e. music award shows). the guys think the girls are talentless posers who trying to ride on their dicks for fame, while the girls just want to avoid accidentally creating any dating rumors cause god forbid they accidentally glance at one of the boys or sit near them

it doesn’t take that long for the girls to sense some sort of animosity from some of the more vocal guys like bandou and even chitose to some extent, so the resentment soon turns mutual and the girls start to think that the guys are a bunch of lowlives

me being me tho, the tension between both groups soon turns into sexual tension between some of their members lmaooo

i envision the four girls to get with shouhei, chitose, dewa, and bandou, but if anyone is actually reading this and thinks differently, please let me know!

dewa/miyako: on the surface, they seem to be the most similar, with both of them having the more serious/strict image of their group. dewa thinks otherwise since miyako is way more outgoing and lenient with her members. he initially looks down at her for being part of an ‘artificial’ pop group, and thinks of her as an airhead, but is surprised to know that she does have a few things in common with him, such as their rich and smothering families. both are also 100% done with their friends’ antics.

chitose/izumi: far from the shy type, izumi is no stranger to promiscuity, having her share of partners in the bedroom. but between the scandals with her friend maria and many other female celebrities, and the way his group looks down at her group, izumi wouldn’t really feel bad if she wakes up one day to headlines about chitose catching std and his group being forced to disband. but after multiple attempts of flirting from chitose’s end, both form a superficial friendship and party together, which slowly turns into late night private conversations with cigarettes in their hand and a bottle to share.

bandou/kaoru: a hate to love dynamic, these two clash the most out of them all and are the last couple to hold hands, let alone get together. from their first meeting (which is coincidentally when they both caught shouhei and sakuno together), kaoru tells bandou how much of a loser he is and that he should pursue another career since his music is not it. bandou calls kaoru a dyke and that theres a reason why she’s the least popular of her group. both are quick to press each other’s buttons, unknowingly hitting some sore spots.

shouhei/sakuno: the romeo and juliet of the groups, they’re the first couple to get together tbh. although they both knew of each other and would attend the same music award shows, they formally meet each other through a mutual friend. although there was a mutual attraction, sakuno tries to bottle her feelings and keep her distance while shouhei tries to pursue her. they initially start off as friends with benefits since both have busy schedules, but the feelings are too strong and next thing you know, late night hookups at the other’s apartment slowly turns into secret late night dates at reserved beaches and restaurants. their interactions start the domino effect of the other members’ interactions.

other couples include fujieric who are in a slowburn ‘will they’ situationship, and mikototsu who are in a secret relationship

Batman Urban Legends issue 6:

The singer/band: Now the band thing was more of Dinah Drake for Rebirth ( band) but it did slip into Dinah Lance origin which was cool felt like a play off of her name. Cool that from her golden age you see her singing. The story ... till this day I barely get it but the concept was cool. I see them still mention it in other comics & webtoons. ( Was a graphic novel Ignite & some other light novel.)

JSA : Since Dinah & her mom has ties to the JSA it pretty fun to see them interact with the old gang. ( JSA 1999, Like old issues but she was there for a short time.)

Wildcat (Ted Grant) love to see the bond between them. Ted was her first teacher & her Uncle telling her old stories about JSA & her mother.

The bond between Family: The fact her family is from Gotham. Could show us her relationship with her parnets. Being a daughther of a cop & a superhero. How her mother didn't want her to follow in her footsteps. -birds of prey (1999) #100

Scream Queens: Gather all the other sonic screamers in DC and have them battle it out. ( Even though we see a snippet in action comics)

Leaque of Assassins: She is a street fighter so of course she will be seen fighting them every now & then. Also the Rah Al 's "sugar daddy' incident shit is so funny. ( Talia & Angel Breaker & Shiva)

Sin Lance: I mean why not the brought back Conner & Lian but not her feels like Bullshit to me.

Red Canary: She has a somewhat of a student called Red Canary hopefully we get to see them bond more.

Enemies : I really need for her to have people bring her down to the absolute worst moments ( Beside longbow hunters). Making her question her belife or methods of fighting. ( Other than Lady Shiva)

Duo comics: Be cool to see duo comics with some of her friends or new people. Like Huntress from JLU or lesser known characters it could be fun with a good writer.

What ever happened to the volleyball OC you were working on? (Asking because of King’s latest silver wolf chapter).

Well, I tried designing the character but I just wasn’t vibing with what I was coming up with then I just lost interest. Here’s the inspiration board I came up with though.

So comic relief like Tsukasa Tenma and Tamaki from Host Club. Rich guy like Tamaki, and quite fashionable. Hair color like Tsukasa and hair styled in a braid. Maybe a hazel eye color. Kinda an insufferable diva but in a funny endearing way, he has his moments where he’s not selfish and cares for others. He’s canary themed, so I was thinking he has a musical name like Dorian. Maybe he tries to be a classical singer but is bad at it lol. If he was a super hero, it would be musical themed as well. Maybe he can actually sing when transformed.

For some background, I did come up with he really wasn’t interested in joining the team but his mother Chloe forced him cause it would look good on school applications. I was thinking he’s mostly a bench player but is like a “secret weapon”. Idk, I just find it funny if it was something like, this boy is complaining about everything and is acting like he doesn’t want to be there, and then some emergency happens and everyone’s like “Dorian! We need you in the game!” And he’s sipping on his iced caramel macchiato like “fine 🙄” and he helps the team win the round or whatever somehow and everyone who underestimate him is like 😧 and he’s like “okay I’m done 🚶‍♂️” Like he’s been playing for awhile so he has skills, but just doesn’t care to put that much effort.

With that, if King would like to use this character idea, he’s free too. I just don’t feel like designing him fully lol (on my own time, if it was commissioned or something then I wouldn’t have a choice lol).

🖤 Though Wednesday is pretty 'lone wolf' and again, uninterested in anything but the Bermuda Triangle, she'll very rarely do things with you like… Roller skating; she hates video games, but she'll play them after a while of you asking her

🖤 You even give her gifts, like knitted scarves and sweaters, always black or a dark gray; Wednesday would take the gift, a frown on her face, but you knew she liked the gifts

🖤 You and her really bonded with instruments, she'd play the cello while you played your favorite instrument, and you'd play together in perfect harmony; and sometimes, rarely, you'd goof around and have a music battle

🖤 You'd notice how close Wednesday and Enid are, a little mischievous thought popping up in your head; you were tempted to try and get the two together, even trying to convince Wednesday that those boys she hung out with were rude, but she is as stubborn as ever

Jas snorts involuntarily at Reggie's remark, attempting to cover it by clearing her throat awkwardly. This was worst than the time she attempted crowd work at a gig and a member of the audience faked being deaf to fuck with her—Jas had sweated profusely and stumbled over a joke about wishing she was deaf right now too so she didn't have to listen to herself bombing her own set.

"If you think about it we're like a modern Robin Hood and Maid Marian."

Jas rolls the comic up and slips it up her sleeve as soon as he hands it over, guilt prickling at the back of her neck. One comic book wasn't going to put the store out of business and if it did then the owners had other things to worry about than petty theft.

"If I get caught then I'm singing like a canary." Jas warned, clasping her hands together over her chest. "I will be performing like my rent is due and I have three babies at home to feed."

Jas watches Reggie slip into action, momentarily forgetting her role in all of this as she grows invested in watching how his distraction tactic plays out. It was a bold movie, she would be sure to congratulate him on kicking the proverbial hornets nest if they managed to get away with this.

His wide eyed gaze was enough to kick her back into action and while Reggie holds the attention of the store clerk like a dancer on stage, Jas whistles innocently as she inches carefully towards the exit. Jas is half way through the door when she gives Reggie two proud thumbs up before slipping soundlessly outside.

"Look at us, a pair of povos," Reggie remarks, clearly being in the creator fund wasn't doing much for either of them in the moment. Him with no access to the cash that he had while Jas was tapped out by a stray cat -- he's certain there was some sort of bit lurking within that, and he would leave it up to the more comedic of the pair to identify it.

He hands over the copy of Sex Criminals that had piqued his interest, feeling momentarily bad that he was an accomplice to some small scale theft from a local comic book store, but he resolved to himself that he would come back with his wallet and buy two copies to make up for it.

( Besides, if two comics were what broke the bank, there had to be bigger financial issues at play than two situational thieves. )

"Got it, but if you're caught, I don't know you."

That's not that much of a stretch, he mostly only knew of her with their interactions limited to being of the virtual kind, but so far he's enjoying her vibe. Reggie's on job then, commandeering the attention of the sales attendant with a question he knew would stir up a long winded answer with plenty of corrections on his faulty logic -- Batman's an avenger, right?

He's mid-way through getting an earful about the vast differences between Marvel and DC when he nods along, throwing in some 'uh huhs' and 'totally' before he glances towards Jas, eyes wide and saying g'on then without using the word.

On the subject of Mrs. Spears, did you know that the song “hit me baby one more time” was a misunderstanding from one of the song writers, who didn’t realize that the phrase he was trying to say was “Hit me up, baby, one more time”? It’s also still a classic tho.

My mom got me a Bob Ross bauble head, for my early birthday, and it is my new favorite thing.

I put it on my shrine of things next to all my other things. I am v happy. She also sent me a book to hold my coins in so I can display all of the coins I’ve collected. I’ve got all 50 states (last one was Indiana!) but now I’m working on the national parks. None of them are really worth any monitary value, but it is fun to collect them.

My favorite thing is the fact that my coworkers realized that I like coins, so anytime anyone pays with any cool or interesting coins, they save them for me to look at.

I only started being interested in coins recently, cuz they started having MAYA FREAKING ANGELOU on the quarters, and I thought that was just the coolest thing. It spiraled from there. The whole recent quarter series on women tho is just the best.

Lol also, like, don’t ask, but maybe one time when I was reading a… fun comic strip (one that really put the word “Strip” into a comic, lol) I got 110% wholly distracted from said comic strip because there was an ad on the side for rare quarters. I don’t think I’ve ever quite hit peak nerd as I did right there, and I think the only other time I came close to it was either when I was watching deep lore videos for skyrim or legitimately filling several pages of a notebook with algebra to be able to maximize food output in a mobile videogame.

Anyways, this is getting long, so I’ll go ahead and just post it.

That, like most things related to Wonder Woman lore, is a difficult question. DC fundamentally does not respect the Wonder Woman mythos on the same level that they do Superman and Batman, so unfortunately her age can vary wildly depending on the story, continuity, and screen adaptation. In the comics, though, the answer has largely consistently been "she's less than 30 years old when she arrives in Man's World" because they want to keep her age vaguely contemporaneous to Clark and Bruce.

Pre-Crisis!Diana was a grown woman when she first entered Man's World, but was also usually shown as being a contemporary of Clark and Bruce. She was not portrayed as significantly older or younger than either of them, but was significantly older upon leaving the island than she has usually been portrayed as being since 1987. Post-Flashpoint!Diana's age has been very nebulous, but she is also usually portrayed as being of a similar age to Clark and Bruce.

For our purposes, the post-Crisis continuity remains the blueprint for the Amazonian backstory and thus Diana's birth, so I'll give a more detailed answer using that one: there, Diana was 21 when she left the island. She was born long after the Amazons were enslaved by Heracles and broke free, long after they were sent to Themiscyra by the goddesses to guard Doom's Doorway, and long after they had built a functioning society and begun living on the island as a society of ageless, immortal women. Specifically, she is born approximately 30 centuries (or 3000 years) after the Amazons arrive on Themiscyra:

Outside, beyond the seas, the world of Man changes. Great civilizations rise and fall. But the Amazons know nothing of this. They hear only the voices of the Old Gods grow more distant—as if Olympus itself were being swallowed in the clouds!........thus it is that on this fateful night, during the 30th centennial of Paradise Island...... -Wonder Woman (1987) #1

Diana is then raised collectively by the Amazons as the sole child of Paradise Island, which deeply informs her perspective on Amazonian culture and ideals:

Diana! The word sings from the lips of all Amazons. She is the only child they have touched in over 30 centuries, and her innocence stirs the love of Aphrodite within them! So it is that the infant princess knows the care of a thousand mothers...of the Queen's most learned scholars! They read her their history—that she might be one with them, heart and soul! And the more she matures...the more she excels! -Wonder Woman (1987) #1

She was depicted by George Perez in his debut "Gods and Mortals" arc as a sheltered young hero whose initial entrance into Man's World and fight against Ares functions as a "coming of age" narrative:

It is so...unfair! Was I born only to be coddled like some eternal infant? Am I not an Amazon? Am I not a woman? "Oh Gods of Olympus! Though I love Paradise, I yearn for more from my life...I yearn for purpose!" -Wonder Woman (1987) #1

And was also far from the first superhero on the scene, as post-Crisis continuity depicts a world where several superheroes (including Superman, Batman, and Black Canary) are already operating when she begins integrating herself into Man's World:

Now, for the first time, it seemed as if Diana might finally find some sense of belonging in Man's world. But, despite their warm welcome, Diana fled this company of heroes even as she was invited to join the newly reformed Justice League.....however, from that day forward, Diana was constantly discussing these unique beings. The Black Canary was the first female crimefighter the Princess had ever seen. On Paradise Island, Diana said the Canary would have been hailed as a great gladiator.............Most interesting was the strange silence that would come over Diana whenever I mentioned Superman. She would not talk about him-as if some unspoken secret existed between them. Maybe some day she'll tell me about it. -Wonder Woman (1987) #8

This, of course, has somewhat changed over the years as DC has done some soft retconning to emphasize the Trinity as equals, friends, and co-founders of the Justice League, but the one thing that rarely changes in these origin retellings is that Superman and Batman are already established heroes when Diana arrives on the scene as a fresh-faced new hero. Her actual age has fluctuated from being somewhat younger to being about the same age to being a little older, but largely: Diana been portrayed as being of a relatively similar age to Clark and Bruce, while Wonder Woman debuts as a hero at least a couple of years after Superman and Batman.

On the topic of Diana's immortality...tricky question. The gift of Amazonian immortality is usually specifically linked to Themiscyra. If an Amazon leaves the island, their immortality is forfeit and they become mortal, though the reasoning behind this change differs:

At the age of 15, she recieved her bracelets of submission at the altar of Aphrodite and first drank from the Fountain of Eternal Youth. As long as she remained on Paradise Island, Hippolyta told her, she would remain always young by drinking from that spring. -Who's Who: The Definitive Directory of the DC Universe (1985)

As long as you remain [on the island] and shirk not your new charge-you shall live as immortals and your souls shall again become pure. -Wonder Woman (1987) #1

"This champion...my Queen, you would damn one of our sisters to eternal exile. Any who leave Themiscyra can never return. Their immortality is forfeit. She would be a woman in a world of men." -Wonder Woman (2016) #4

This is why the other Amazonian tribes who don't live on Themiscyra—the Bana-Mighdall and the Esquecidas—are not functionally immortal the way the Themiscyrans are. Themiscyran Amazons can be killed, but they are generally immortal in the sense that they will not age, get sick, or die of natural causes.

While this is not universally the case for Diana specifically (occasionally writers want to put in weird stuff about her being immortal because she's a clay baby or Zeus's demigod daughter), Diana is usually portrayed as a very hardy, long-lived mortal once she leaves Themiscyra. She's even been killed on a couple of different occasions (most notably in the 90s, when she was killed by Neron and spent a bit of time operating as the Goddess of Truth, and a couple of years ago after sacrificing herself to save the multiverse in Dark Knights: Death Metal). But she has never been depicted as already being thousands of years old when she first arrives in Man's World in main comics continuity; unfortunately a lot of adaptations, where most peoples' knowledge of her comes from, seem to want to treat her like a female Thor instead of the unique character that she is and so they tend to dial up her age a lot.

In the comics, Diana is often contrasted with the rest of her people because where they've already experienced the joys and horrors of Man's World (both in their first lives and their reincarnated ones as Amazons) she had not. Diana was and remains the only Amazon truly born on Themiscyra rather than being reincarnated via the Well of Souls, and she is born from clay and the goddesses' will rather than through "natural" birth. She is the hope and promise of Amazonia realized, a child who grew up completely separated from Man's World and any cultures it contains.

Because of her unique birth and childhood, she is able to be a fresh voice of truth and reason among a mythos of ancient gods too set and stubborn in their ways to see the Truth, a society of women who have been scarred and disillusioned by their own experiences and victimization in Man's World, and the world of men not prepared for her earnest mission to teach Amazonian ideals to mankind. That is her function as a character and it's one she fills very well!

However, this is not to say that the Wonder Woman mythos is without the "ageless immortal Amazonian warrior woman who's already spent a lifetime fighting against gods and men and mythological monsters." It's just not Diana! It's her mom, Hippolyta:

"A fierce, aggressive warrior, Hippolyta was also a decisive leader.....As Wonder Woman, Hippolyta fought alongside the JSA to end Nazi tyranny in World War II...Hippolyta and Heracles face off in ancient Greece." -Wonder Woman: Secret Files and Origins (2002) #3

When DC revamped Wonder Woman lore in the late 90s to explain why Wonder Woman was active during World War II, they did not attempt to explain it by saying that Diana was actually thousands of years old and had been operating as a hero for decades before Clark and Bruce were born. They just said it was her mom, who had temporarily time travelled and spent a few years there working with the JSA! Which is a perfectly valid explanation that doesn't compromise Diana's unique story and place amongst the Amazons.

This is what ultimately frustrates me about Diana age discourse: you don't need to make Diana into something she isn't to get the character you want to see! All you need to do is acknowledge that other Amazons exist and read about them instead!

Honestly, people can argue about Diana's age when she arrives in Man's World if they like—there's lots of contradictory canon to argue about there—but it should still be a somewhat reasonable age that is relatively similar to Clark and Bruce's ages, none of this "she's 1000/2000/3000 years old" nonsense.

It’s the Batkids favorite audio on TikTok that they frequently use because Lex hates it just as much as Bruce does.

They especially like to use the part thet says “…. Superman, Queen & Wayne, amateurs can fucking suck it, fuck there wives, drink there blood…”

It has become a thing on there social media pages that they film Bruce at the most random times whilst they start playing the song. Dinner, meeting, galas…. you name it. Ever time he responded either with leaving the room which just prompt them to follow him through the manor, or he just stares into the camera, offices style.

They have also been spotted in costume singing this over comes whilst on patrol.

It doesn’t help that the rest of the league has come to singing it to, they can’t help it, it’s just so catchy. This irritates Bruce, Oliver and Clark to no end.

However no one has the balls to sing it around Dinah.
