Mod Worm Here: ooooo an ask for both! How kind of you :) Thanks for sending two! On with the answers How do they get along with people they just met?

Dee: Dee tends to get along pretty well when you first meet them. They give off a goofy kind vibe that kind of makes them endearing in a way. Sure they can be a bit confusing, and honestly a bit tiring, but they are loyal and always giving out gifts.

Vinh: People don't tend to like Vinh to much when you first meet him. He seems very superficial, lazy grin + kind of sounds like a smart ass + doesn't seem to care about anything = people assuming he wouldn't be a good friend. Sure he did party a lot in his youth, he always assumes you want something from him. However, to people that knew him for a while they know this isn't true (special case if you are a child/student, he is very fun)

I am putting a keep reading here because this next section is the mental health question, mentioned of parents, selfworth, anxiety, depression etc

Mental Health Status:

Dee: At this point in time Dee is doing pretty good. They had time to work through their past with a therapist and they are still improving. This break has allowed them to step back and breathe some fresh air, that being said sometimes they still get caught up in their own head. Anxiety spirals, depression, they have days where they just can't. They still have some issues with their parents, and their need to make them proud from their youth. But vast improvement from years prior, especially with their new support system

Vinh: oh Vinh....major self worth issues stemming from his parents and how he was raised. He genuinely thinks hes not worth caring for, that the only reason people like him is for the things he does/gives. A reason why he is always giving people stuff for free, doing favors, etc.. In fact he still often turns people away, because why would they care about him? He does hide it from people, its not hard to clock though.

I know the discourse well is poisoned and no one hates bioware games more than bioware fans, but I am just 🫠 having so much fun with veilguard it's unreal. It is selfishly the dragon age game I always wanted. with less emphasis on cRPG, a more focused story, curated mission based design that spotlights the high fantasy stuff, slowburn structure with companions, significantly less sidequest bloat, and a fully real-time action-oriented combat system that isn't riddled with the growing pains of previous titles. when I first played origins I imagined something almost exactly like this as my ideal version of a sequel; and it was one of those dirty, selfish thoughts that I knew was disrespectful to the then-established DNA of the thing, but I can't help but feel giddy about having it here and now. like down to the shift away from the childishly dark tone and to something more inherently flexible with a baseline aspirational quality. I hate aesthetically depressing games so much. am I not alive right here and right now already

When I say "aesthetically" there though I do mean it. I'm fully on the opposite side when it comes to tone and positions expressed in the story itself. I am just not including that in my analysis because I am not done yet - so please no spoilers! I think I am where most people consider to be the second act, and I definitely have my gripes with the narrative framework and some of the optics, but I won't put the cart before the horse and will see how it wraps things up first. Above that level, in terms of how it presents itself, of how it plays, of how it balances its core pillars - it is such a bioware-ass game and I could not be any cozier in it. So grateful it exists

Lets talk about Nova for a bit. I find it really interesting that Raka does not know why all humans are named 'Nova', but confirmed it definitely has to do with our sweet Nova who Maurice adopts in War.

I like to think that Caesar's clan started calling humans Nova as a way to honor her. She did help Caesar at one of his lowest points and contributed to them escaping the Colonel. She must've lived with them for the remainder of her life, and the apes accepted her as one of them. It would be nice to get more clarification later on. I will cry if this ends up being true lol

The Nova name does get depressing tho. As we all remember, Nova was infected when the virus started mutating and her cognitive skills were being taken from her. It was so sad that this little girl could not speak but thankfully, Maurice was teaching her sign language and she was learning. In kingdom, obviously the virus got worse and now the human population (aka Nova's and Echo's) is hanging by a thread (Or so we think we don't know how many other bunkers are out there lol) It's crazy to think that this virus that was meant to be a cure for a disease in the first place; became the downfall of humanity.

He digs a hand into Simon's jacket collar to pull him closer, happy to drown himself in the scent of leather and spice he's been missing for so long. Thick arms slide around his waist and wide hands slip under his jumper, rough calluses and blunt fingernails dragging up his back.

The neediness in those questing fingers sends another shudder through his body, a hot rush of desire clouding his thoughts even more. Waves of longing overtake all rational thought, leaving only a growing need for more. For everything Simon will give him. 

He wants.

He needs.

He slides his other hand up into Simon's hair and tugs.
