welcome back to my brainrot!!! the vamps - i'm pretty sure (very fucking sure) that i'm just gonna have to write multiple parts for that au!!!! not really part 1 and part 2 but just snippets from their life i think. ofc the first meeting between gojo and geto and reader but then i really wanna write about shoko and reader too, like how'd they meet etc. i can see like a rainy day with a shivering shoko heading to her favourite bar after a long work day. it's a pretty unpopular place; she has her own little spot in the window booth and the bartender already knows what she orders. a neon light hangs from above the bar but otherwise it's just some random low lamps that barely light up the place - it's perfect like that. the music isn't too loud either, it's mainly 80's music and stuff alike that. shoko thought it a bit lame at first but now, it's one of the reasons she keeps coming back. it's a perfect escape from the life she leads. on that rainy night, though.... the door swings open and a hooded figure struts to the bar, barely catching shoko's attention. she's busy watching the raindrops bash against the window, the cig slowly burning between her fingertips. the quiet clearing of a throat does pull her out of it - it's you. dark eyes and an even darker small smile, pointing to the seat opposite of her. "may i?" it's so sultry, catching shoko a bit off-guard. normally, she wouldn't let a stranger sit with her. why would she? but you? you're different. something about you is already making her hook onto you. digging around in your little bag, you pull out a cig of your own. but no lighter. you lean your elbows onto the table and toward the woman before you. "do you mind?" she knows what you mean; she's already clutching the tiny fire machine in her jacket pocket. the cig hangs from your mouth, a confident smirk pulling on the corners of your dark lips. her hand raises to it, she flicks the ligher and watches your lips fully curve around the thing. it takes light, the tip turns a bright orange for a second before dimming down; you inhale. deep. shoko's hand remains in its spot. and exhale. she gulps.

and reader and sugu, how their relationship began and overall how their life together is (talking about this with momo and i haven't stopped thinking about sugu owning a museum and all that). OKAY AS I WAS TYPING THIS U REBLOGGED IT so i know u've seen that too but yk i wanna elaborate on that more bc i loved that idea and since i'm talking about it already HE DOES PAINT. 1000000% THERE'S A MASSIVEEE MASSIVE ROOM FOR JUST HIM AND HIS ART. in the mansion and in the museum. the room has big windows and he looooves to paint just when the moon lights up the room.... it's perfect for painting u.

aaaaaand i mean geto and gojo duo is something that needs a deep fucking study too................. like ur slowdancing idea????? it lives in my head. i don't think it'll ever leave if i'm being honest. anyway i think gojo is almost as infatuated with geto as he is with u. c'mon???? he's fucking ethereal how could he not be??? i think he follows geto around at the house a lot. he wants to know what he does at all times, just wants to know more about him (he wants to hold his hand)(he wants to play with his hair). geto definitely finds it annoying at first i think i already said that but yeah. but fret not he does come off it after a while. what if gojo asks him to teach him how to paint????? so he watches gojo do it, but when he needs help he steps right behind him, chest touching gojo's back, hand grasping over his, guiding along the canvas. do u think gojo is paying any fucking attention at this point?????????? fuck no i'm sorry but that man is popping a boner. anyway. gojo accidentally teaches him some dirty jokes - geto swears he doesn't even listen to him but the stupid one-liners just keep coming out of his mouth (a sign that he's spending a lot of time with his little bf)(he's trying to ignore that fact).

as for our little prince and our little knight - the next part is imminent i promise!! i know i said that last weekend too but it's definitely dropping this weekend lmao. we learn a bit about shoko's (and the knight's) childhood and finally our favourite duo gets to bond over some childish laughter. but only just for a moment though....

ANYWAY neighbor!maki is very much inspired by a scene from the movie bound (1996). maki and the reader have seen each other a few times in the hallway of their apartment complex but they haven't spoken - until the reader goes to ask her for help. and then they both understand how attracted they are to each other. no smut not even suggestive they're just kind of flirting it's cute. i literally have so little of it but i still love the idea so muchhhh i need to finish it maki deserves it i love her

prince!gojo (autumn)

he has also learned that shoko had a friend, who was ready to do anything for her and for others for that's sake. with a deep sigh, she confessed that she regretted not taking in the other kid. shoko was more quiet, more well-behaved in a sense but the other kid - they kept getting into fights with the knights of the castle. "i kept scolding them over it. but no, they just kept going. later i learned that all of those beatings and slashings were for other kids." her head hanged low as she spoke. "they kept taking the blame for the younger kids, so that they wouldn't get hurt. stole food, so that they wouldn't starve. i didn't know."

the prince nodded along, surprised to hear about this noble kid. "where are they now?" he asked in a whisper, a little scared to hear the answer.

"they left. around the time they were twelve, i think. shoko was miserable. brought me and her flowers and bread; the most polite troubled kid i ever saw." she sighed."i was stupid."

but when he does he still tries to somewhat pose it as just a hypothetical question or a joke he can take back in case she's not interested, like "So... hypothetically speaking, IF I asked you to marry me, what would you say?"

oh that is a loaded question /lh

aries has always been sort of. very jaded, even as a kid! he's very knowledge-focused and wants to know the truth of basically everything ever, very autonomy-focused and wants everyone to be able to make their own choices about their lives and their bodies, and thus living in the town where this is absolutely not the case has led them to be a very cold and spiteful person. he was incredibly protective of robin as a kid, while also inspiring her to be more brave herself, which led her to start out with much higher confidence than she has normally.

meeting sydney and becoming a temple initiate helped with his jadedness a little! he felt like he was helping people and that lightened his heart a touch. likewise, he put a lot of his attention on sydney's autonomy, trying to lead him into valuing himself and his own opinions more. however, the fact that he was STILL getting consistently molested and accosted even in the temple made him more jaded again, especially because no matter how many times he told jordan what was going on, it continued to happen.

going through the vigil and becoming a monk, however, is when a lot of his radical thinking began to come through. being shown that the town and its god were being ravaged by some unseen threat? realizing that people in and around the town were aiding this threat? it completely radicalized him and made him determined to purge the town of its corruption by his own hand, which means going into the sewers and wherever else tentacles appear and beating the shit out of them with his whip. from this point on, he began to view virgo as a dying animal, and it was his job to protect both it and the town.

this is ALSO when he starts to get more verbally violent with people when they try to molest him, or even when he just thinks they are, which is what gets him sent to the Hopital™️and into harper's office. and over the time he's spent learning about the corruption and examining it as closely as he does, he can just kind of tell that harper is INCREDIBLY fucked up.

however, harper also inspires some pity in aries, and thus, rather than outright trying to purge harper, he tries to purify him. and this goooooes poorly, because harper is basically the corruption version of the antichrist and purifying him is a nigh impossible task.

what happens instead is that aries ends up with a hyper-concentrated pocket of corruption in his mind, which he keeps quarantined via psychological compartmentalization. this is basically the only way he can continue on his purging way and also deal with the fact that part of his brain now wants nothing more than to let harper do whatever he wants to him :)

aries also had to go retrieve the spear for the temple, which meant joining zephyr's crew for a good while. this is the point at which the corrupted part of his brain gets a little more say, because he actually spends A LOT of time being bait while zephyr's crew ransacks boats, and so he both gets the thrill of being naked (plus chastity belt) in front of dozens of people, AND the thrill of beating the shit out of a bunch of perverts (this is also where he got his tan)

and thus, we come to where he is now! his next adventure is probably either beating the shit out of remy or being possessed by the wraith for a spell <3

okay this is funny because I literally had not thought about it since writing it but it was sitting in my drafts and i was like "omg wait that was kind of a good idea who wrote that"

i just think there's this allure of choso as a character in jjk who is new to things and yet still tries his best to be caring and protecting, like he does with yuuji. he gives me the energy of that six week old kitten who was found taking care of like four smaller kittens :(((( i love him sm

and so i feel like he fits right into an au where his job is to protect and keep his subject safe, all while still learning the ropes on his own. and because he can never have things easy, his first task, his first little human that has been placed in his care, is this twenty something year old human who stresses him him out sooo bad hehe. like you walk under ladders and lean on very visibly unstable furniture and on his first day he is so anxious and stressed that while preventing a bowl from falling on your head, he accidentally makes himself visible to you.

you blink at him and brush it off, assuming it's another sleep deprivation induced hallucination and head to your fire escape to light another cigarette and forget about it. surely there's no tall beautiful man in your apartment holding a bowl. and even if there was one, he wouldn't have soft, fluttery wings tucked against him. you just need a quick nicotine fix and all will be well again.

except he follows you onto the fire escape and berates you a little for being so unbothered by a man in your apartment. takes the cigarette out of your mouth and replaces it with a lollipop from his pocket. it's your favorite flavor. you're stunned.

of course it is. he knows you, through and through (even if some of your choices and motivations remain an absolute mystery to him).

grian would still feel guilty, absolutely devastated that scar's wonderful circus burned to the ground because of shadows of grian's past... but i think he couldn't stand the thought of never leaving that awful place. even if it'd prevent this from happening to the others. is it selfish? maybe.

i don't think i should've never left is a thought that he has. but it's not like he wants anyone else to get hurt either! it's complicated!

For Ary: the thing he most appreciates about Jeih is probably Jeih's feistiness/persistence. It's simultaneously his least favorite thing as it comes with a lot of baggage, and while it generally bodes well for Jeih's overall survival, Aryion doesn't particularly like it directed at himself - especially when he's just trying to help.

For Jeih: Probably the discovery that beneath all the rigidity, coldness and teeth, Aryion has a gentle, curious side that runs deep. Least favorite is that Aryion is mostly a closed book to him, and Jeih dislikes boundaries.

What are your favourite tlh characters and why?

If you have seen my blog the past few weeks, you probably can guess some of them, but here we go:

Grace

I feel like Grace is one of the most complex characters we've ever gotten in TSC and it feels like such a breath of fresh air. Don't get me wrong, I am perfectly aware that these are YA novels, so I generally don't expect the books to be super amazing, I know what I'm signing up for, but that's precisely why I like her so much. Her personality is very unlike other female characters we've gotten in the series and I don't mean that in a "not like other girls" sense but in the sense that it caught my attention immediately, because CC doesn't have the best track of giving her girls gray morality without treating them like they suck for that.

I guess I was always curious about her? Even in CoG she gave the impression she was more than she seemed, and reading her backstory in CoI just made me hurt for her and root for her to have a happy ending after so much misery. There's something really satisfying about characters that have faced so much hardships finally getting a chance to simply be.

Alastair

Oh, boy. When I first read CoG and I read about Alastair, he felt to me so much like my older brother that I loved him immediately. It helped that I found his snark incredibly funny. However... as I kept reading TLH, he actually started reminding me of, well, myself. For many reasons, but let's not get too personal here, haha, let's just say I found his flaws, his struggles, and his stubbornness to go on in spite of that very relatable. How could I not love him deeply and dearly?

Aside from my biased reasons, I also find that his character is written very consistently and I loved his character arc (I stand by how simplistic some things felt in COT, but even so), how he had his highs and his lows, that was very nicely done. He also feels like a complex character because he's allowed to fuck up badly and it doesn't get swept under the rug, though I would say they go the other way with him and Grace by being too harsh, but I'll take my wins where I can.

Christopher

Oh, Kit, sweet Kit, you were the best of them all. Christopher is such a great character because, while mostly ignored the first two books, he's endearing practically without trying. CC's books have this thing where sometimes they try to convince you a character is likable for X reasons and it simply doesn't work for me that they tell me that I should love a character.

Christopher doesn't have that problem, they kinda present him to you as this klutzy nerd, but he's so much more than that. His logic helps him be the most compassionate and kind from the group, no matter what the narrative tries to tell you. He's perceptive, he's fair, he's fun. Who doesn't like Christopher even if he isn't their favorite? He knows what he is and what he wants and he follows through with it, he's such a pillar of the group that passes unnoticed because he's always in the background, but by the gods, he's so good.

Thomas and Ari.

I adored Thomas in CoT, though I must admit he doesn't spark my curiosity and excitement quite like the other three did, in the way that I would get immediately engaged the second I saw their names on the page. Nothing wrong with him, just my personal preferences, but he was truly funny and sweet and I quite liked that!

Ari... I do like her, in a way, I wanted to like her so bad, but she's trapped as the love interest in Anna's narrative, and given that I have no love for Anna's character or their pairing, it was hard for me to enjoy her appearances. She didn't have a chance to shine on her own, but when I think of all the ramifications of her story, I swoon a little. She could be so interesting.

omg ur recent soobin post! he is so emotional and intense and complex and it makes me feel so much better about myself lmao bc i always feel like i have to like..tone myself down for other people. or that im too much or too emotional or ~complicated~ for ppl. but seeing someone like soobin being himself makes me feel happy :,)

I feel the same way! I am really loud and extroverted and deeply emotional (enfp + libra lol) and so I think what I love so much about him is that he is introverted but still expresses himself and gives us glimpses into himself. I feel like in ways idols or just performers in general don't always do

like, something that really stands out to me is when he said that he felt bad because he was the only member who didn't have a good time during lolla 2022. that was super emotional for me as a moa who went to lolla 2022 and was gearing up for lolla 2023. and it's extremely vulnerable of him to share that!! like, he put himself at risk of potentially hurting fans that went to 2022 and also like, let people know that right before they performed again, as headliners. and I understand why he was so scared and why he didn't have the best time and I'll never hold that against him but I so very much admire him for feeling brave enough to say how he felt :,)

like, idk I really just feel like he's a really sensitive guy and I think it makes him who is is as a person and as an idol and the leader of txt. and I'm so proud and filled with emotion when I get to hear him speak from the heart

he balances his roles well and I've only been a moa for about 2.5 years now but getting to see him + the other members grow and learn about what they've been proud of has been something that brings me a lot of happiness

Ooo know who I'm gonna do this for.

Fun fact: even though my Eight and Three have pretty different facial features (Eight's face is round while Three has high cheekbones and just generally sharper features, Eight has medium-dark skin while Three is paler, Eight's tendrils are magenta while Three's are green (which are opposites on the color wheel, by the way), etc.) the one thing they have in common is their eyes—both of them have amber ones. It's mainly because I'm a nerd and like symbolism lol—see, despite all the differences in their appearance, despite them being from two different species, they have a similar (if not the same) eye color. Despite their backgrounds, despite their pasts, they have quite a lot in common. If everything else about their appearances highlights their differences, then their eye color highlights their similarities.

As for my other ocs, well—honestly I haven't decided on an eye color for most of them lol.
