This a somewhat angsty hc, so tell me if you agree or not

Rody grew up in the rougher/poorer side of town, with strict and homophobic parents, who always told him that he wasn't good enough (the original reason for the people pleasing and the self sacrificing behavior)

And they definitely didn't like what he went to college for

and maybe he had a brother as well

Vince came from a wealthier family who gave him freedom but were strict about the rules they did set, they also were distant in the sense that even though they loved their son, they didn't try to connect with him and it got worse because he started shutting people out after he lost his taste

They are proud of him but don't call or talk to him often, and when they do he tends to ignore them

OH MY GOD I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH THESE. vince ive always imagined definietly always being high upper class, rody i think during his episodes (bc honestly he probably has periods of self inadequecy/depression) has this "i was born poor, i'll die poor" mentality that lingers in the back of his mind

also i saw the other ask and even tho it was legal i thibk it was also the 60s so the thing with rody woild still make sense i think!!

Rody's playlist is comprised of mostly morbid songs and metal songs, with happy songs sprinkled in

Vince listens to classical music but doesn't really care for any type music

That's until Rody plays/sings for him for the first time

RODY WITH THE HEAVY METAL PLAYLIST IS SO REAL

i love characters that are silly and have the most morbid music they listen to!!!

vince i think gravitates to anything considered "sophisticated" (including classical music) but he would absolutely love rody's guitar playing anyways bc its rody!!
