Not so friendly reminder that the Al Nusra Front, which is now called HTS, forced the thousands of Druze in their territory to renounce their own religion, convert to Sunni Islam, and destroy their own religious holy sites on pain of death less than a decade ago.

So the UN can either keep them north of Damascus like the Suwayda Military Council asked, or they can shut up and stop complaining when Israel, the SDF, or the Suwayda Military Council bomb them when they come further south.

In all seriousness though, Assad's regime did oppress Syrians. He was not a nice man.

Even when a fucking dictator gets ousted from power, jews are not only blamed, but blamed in such a way that the outcome, in this case Assad ousted from power, is a negative thing.

Firstly, it's racist to think that Syrians couldn't possibly do this. Like either justification is racist. Both "most Syrians supported Assad because he was anti israel" and "Syrians couldn't have possibly done this" are racist. Like Syrians aren't this fucking hivemind who all share the same opinion where being anti israel is more important than their own livelihoods. And they also aren't these uwu babies incapable of getting shit done.

Secondly, the most glaring is the antisemitism in this. The whole jews control the world trope.

Israel didn't even allow Syria 48 hours of peace before invading their lands, bombing and genociding thousands. Anyone who believes the US-Israel Middle Eastern activities are anything more than a brutal land grab is deluded

Imagine fighting tirelessly for 50 years to rid yourself of a dictator and mere days after your victory, mere days after tortured innocents are freed from their cells, all your resources; schools, hospitals, etc. Are bombed, families are killed. If someone has told me that the decade and a half old Syrian Civil War would end after a single offensive spanning just a few days, ending with the fall of Damascus, the one city which was never at risk of collapse during the entire war, and the death of Assad via a friendly fire incident with a Russian S300 SAM, I would have punched them in the mouth for their delusions, yet here we are.

"Russia requested an emergency session of the U.N. Security Council to discuss Syria, according to Dmitry Polyansky, its deputy ambassador to the U.N., in a post on Telegram.

The arrival of Assad and his family in Moscow was reported by Russian agencies Tass and RIA, citing an unidentified source at the Kremlin. A spokesman there didn’t immediately respond to questions. the videos coming out of Syria right now are unbelievable. truly never thought I'd see the end of the Assad regime in my lifetime after 2016 happened and now I'm watching videos of people celebrating in the streets, statues being toppled, and dozens of refugees and political prisoners reuniting with their parents, spouses, children, and friends.
