Recently, I changed my phone, and now I was cleaning out the old one and found this gem in the notes. It was supposed to be a season 2, Swan Queen fic, going AU during The Cricket Game.

'Kid, what are you doing here.'

'Emma, look, my mom.'

'You kidding me, she got you a horse. Didn't David already get you one? Which you never visit anyway?'

'No, I mean mom...'

'This is so like her, trying to bribe you. I mean, now that I know her mom, I get why she's like that. But after yesterday.'

'Emma, you're not hearing me. THIS IS MY MOM.'

'Regina is the horse?'

'It's not a horse. It's a pony, but yes. Mom got turned into a pony.'

There's something about the look on his face when he uses the passive voice that is telling Emma there's more to this. 'She got turned... by accident?'

'I might have wished for her to change ... but not into a horse.'

Unfortunately, that was the only scene I've written. But in light of the horse drawing post going around...

“Here,” she said, handing Regina the glass of water. “I’ll go find you something to sleep in.”

“Emma, I can just go home.”

“Regina, you can’t drive and it’s the middle of the night, anyway.”

“I don’t have to drive, Em-ma,” Regina over-enunciated, placing the glass of water on the table. Her heart leapt back up her throat at the sound of her name in that tone. Regina wiggled her fingers. “Magic.”

“Magic yourself some pajamas and I’ll let you poof home,” Emma countered, elbowing her heart back down as Regina’s eyes closed and her nose screwed up in concentration; she was adorable. Then a sudden gasp, one that Emma would unfortunately be thinking about forever, and her eyes flew open and darted away from Emma. She was still in the same clothes. Concern flooded Emma, now worried that Regina had hurt herself somehow. “What happened? Are you okay?”

“I’m fine,” Regina assured, taking a large gulp of water in a very un-Regina-like manner. Emma watched her carefully, looking for any sign of a magical mishap. Her face was more flushed than it had been, but it could have been the magic exertion. She was breathing heavily but it was evening out quickly. Eyes were fixated on the furthest point away from her. Regina seemed physically fine, but she was… embarrassed?

“What's wrong? Couldn’t make pajamas happen?” Emma teased, trying to make light of whatever happened and pull Regina back to the fun, easy time they were having.

“No, it would seem I should take you up on both of your offers,” Regina conceded, finally meeting Emma’s eyes. Her pupils were blown, eyes rimmed red. Emma smiled at her widely.

“Don’t wanna try one more time?”

“I’m worried that if I do, I’ll accidentally disappear more than just my bra.” Regina held her gaze, head tilted slightly as if she were daring Emma to continue. Emma’s mouth went dry.

“I’ll, uh- I think I’ve got an extra shirt and sweats,” Emma said lamely, catching the edge of the table and stumbling slightly as she hurried past Regina toward the stairs. Unabashed giggles echoed behind her as she hurried upstairs, ducking into the bathroom.

Okay, I'm back after all, I had to share that scene I had in my head.

So there was that post I reblogged and I couldn't help but turn it into swanqueen.

I just can't help seeing Emma and Regina making out in the kitchen. They hear the door open, and they panic because they are not out, not even to Henry.

Regina shoves Emma into the nearest hiding place, the pantry. Henry enters the kitchen and greats her mom. Small talks ensue.

Henry goes to the pantry to grab a snack. Regina can't find a excuse quickly enough to stop him. He opens the door and peeks inside.

"Hi Ma."

"Hi Henry."

He rummaged through the shelves for his favorite snack.

"You're not too cramped in here?" asks Henry.

"Nah. It's roomy. I think I gonna move in."

Henry beams, but it's not clear if it's about the idea of his birth mother living under the same roof or if it's because he finally found the right snack.

"Got lots of homework to do, gotta go. Bye Ma!"

"Bye Henry?"

Henry emerges of the pantry at last. Regina is still stock-still in the middle of the kitchen. She can't even warn her son against putting crumbs everywhere.

After a minute, Regina finally gains back the controle of her own body and goes into the pantry.

"So... He knows. He must know, right?"

"I thought he would be more surprised."

"Maybe we should still sit him down and talk to him about... Us."

"Yes, we should do that before I move in."

"I'm sorry, what?"

"You didn't hear? This pantry is roomy and confy, I think I'll be fine here."

"Why live in this shoe box of a pantry when I have a queen sized bed?"

"Is it an invitation, Madam Mayor?"

"The requirement for being a denizen of my bedroom is a kiss every morning. Starting now."

"I think I can manage that."

"Welcome home, Emma."

I think the same setting would be fun at the loft with Snow. Would Snow would be shell-shocked or would she act like it was a long time coming?

I like the idea of her going "Hi Regina, bye Regina!... Wait..."

The closet is such an underrated trope tbh.
