First of all, I love you Letters, thank you for the ask.

Okay so, lore behind We All Lie Amongst The Thorns and Survival Is A Team Sport. I have done proper wip summaries on my intro post here, but I'd be happy to go into more detail.

We All Lie Amongst The Thorns is a fairy tale retelling. The main character is my version of Sleeping Beauty. The story starts on her presentation ceremony (the day about a week after her birth when she is presented to the public) where a fairy from each discipline will bless her, except for the divination fairy, who will read her future. After the blessings are given the divination fairy has her vision and says that she will be cursed to fall into a deep sleep on her sixteenth birthday, and that this curse will bring about the kingdom's downfall. The king, terrified of losing his power, sends the newborn baby deep into the woods, far away from him. And thus the story begins.

Survival Is A Team Sport starts out on a beautiful sunny summer day, the main character Camryn's birthday. He and his friends are on the way to his house after school to celebrate when suddenly the sky goes dark and strange things start dropping from the sky. The kids' path home is blocked, so they take cover in a nearby garage. The sounds of chaos continue throughout the night, and when they finally peek out in the morning, everything has changed.

You are not superior for “handling” an event when your driver is the one who instigated it. You are not superior for not being upset about something. Being upset is the right response. Being upset means you have passion for the sport and for the drivers. Being upset IS THE REASON these events were as big as they were!!!!

Do you really think Lewis and Mercedes fans weren't AT LEAST as upset during that as max fans are today??? Are you serious???

This isn't even aimed at Lando fans!!!! This is aimed at everyone who says “y'all can't even handle xyz” everytime something happens!!! Rivalries need fans to be passionate about them! They don't just happen on their own with no one caring and being completely uninterested!

You are supposed to care about sports! Stop telling people they shouldn't care about their driver and their sport!

So Sky Sports had an exclusive interview with Guenther Steiner about his exit from Haas. Here’s the tea:

He found out via a call during Christmas/New Year (DTS are kicking themselves for missing the call of the century)

Guenther is clearly keeping his cards close to his chest but lord help Gene if Guenther writes another book

Seems to be that the ‘embrassing’ comment made by Gene has had a ripple effect within the factory that’s not sitting well

When asked about Haas and their future Guenther pretty much said not my problem

About his raising fame Guenther explained how it benefitted the team and keep it running and if anything help sercuring Moneygram as their title sponsor

Tried to get Guenther to bad mouth Gene but Guenther was world class and kept it all diplomatic

#um. so basically i do not know how to even begin to explain aftg even if i am dumb bitchifying it. there's this guy #and he's on the run and he's on his own no family no friends but he's OBSESSED with a made up sport called exy #it's like a mental crutch for him it's the one thing he's really passionate about and he's willing to risk his brutal life #of survival and being on the run if it only means he can play. and this team of professional exy players called the foxes sign him on #and they're all messed up in some way bc the whole point of them is to be a refuge for societal rejects #we're talking drug addicts ex-juvie abuse victims etc etc the works and it's written in a VERY raw way #that often lends itself to making the characters feel very real but also does mishandle a lot of very sensitive topics as a result #and the series is basically about the found family of this team and them going from dysfunctional underdogs to national champions #except the fucking mafia is involved. and andrew minyard exists but i cant even speak of him tonight with the mood im in #i WILL shatter into a million pieces #ask #aftg

I am so serious when I say not a single f1 driver would make it a week in Oxford college rowing 🧍‍♀️

#and not just bc it require doing an ox degree but that too.#like do you know the sporting psychological warfare that elite uni girlies wage against each other 😭#like I’ve been in the uni varsity team and two of the most competitive women’s college teams and like #again high performance training unpaid while studying #also my squad literally released a ranking this week where they ranked all of us #just arbritrarly and publicly . lol #and we’ve got the most insane class dynamics #bc it’s like free school fitlris who only started rowing at uni v private school people who’ve been rowing since they were teenagers …#so evil honestly #every job application I do I’m like. I’ve survived not making it through crew selection got varsity boat race and I’ve survived public crew #ranking lists I’ll survive whatever you throw at me LOL

Camryn

Camryn is not allowed to drink energy drinks.

This is true, he's parents don't let him and his friends all agree this is probably for the best.

Camryn is awful with technology and doesn't know how to use a smart phone.

He's not that bad with technology, but he's not exactly a computer genius.

Camryn bites their nails.

No, I gave him some of the nervous ticks I have and that's one of the few I've never done.

Zac

Zac is a dog person.

Zac is in fact a dog person. He loves dogs.

Zac will go feral. Watch out.

Yes.

Zac is a cat person.

At this point I'm pretty sure the headcannon generator thinks Zac lives in a zoo. But yes, Zac is also a cat person. He loves animals in general.

Alec

Alec chews their nails when nervous.

He does but he's trying to stop because he finds it embarrassing so whenever he realizes he's doing it he'll quickly hide his hands behind his back like a guilty child or something.

Alec forgets to eat sometimes.

Alec's a grazer with a tiny stomach, so it tends to look like he skips meals but he actually does eat plenty, it's just scattered throughout the day

Alec is going to heaven.

He's only like 18 so I'd hope so?

Jasper

Jasper hacks their stats in every video game they play.

No, he's got too strong of morals for that.

Jasper has a diary that they write in with a glittery gel pen.

He does have a diary. Cannot confirm nor deny existence of glittery gel pen, but it probably is his utensil of choice.

Jasper has a pet squirrel.

Jasper would be afraid of the squirrel, and if he tried to befriend it it would probably bite him.

Larken

Larken has an incredible short-term memory but an awful long-term memory.

This is actually pretty true. Unless it's like an important core memory she'll probably forget it within a week.

Larken speaks only in meme refrences.

Larken's family lives completely off the grid and has no internet access, but honestly if someone were to introduce her to memes properly she would do it.

Larken is not good with social cues.

This is true.

Eve

Eve has a roblox account.

Not only does Eve have a roblox account but she also bullies children on it.

Eve can play the piano.

Only because her parents forced her to learn.

Eve's least favourite subject in school was Gym.

Nope. She loves gym.

making my formal apology to my cousins for disparaging their years long lacrosse obsession. went to a tournament td and maybe that Was fun enough to warrant missing 1/2 of the last 20 family vacations.

Ah, the NIT Tournament. Some people say it's pointless to hold a tournament to decide the 69th best team in the nation. I respectfully disagree. In fact, I'd say it holds a purpose darn near as important as the "real" tournament.

I keep getting Draft Kings and Fan Duel advertisements since it’s being legalized soon for me and it’s not good for my gambling addiction tendencies and my interest in NASCAR and F1 (will inevitably lead to me betting on drivers and losing because somebody crashes out/DNFs and fucks the parlay)
