I will second the THCV, as well as l-theanine with caffeine.
When I got my medical marijuana card I specifically looked for products high in THCV, since it's slowly being studied for a whole host of potential benefits.
Cerebral palsy, especially spastic, makes working out painful. I do it anyway because I know how important it is to move. I sleep in on a lot of days because everything feels weak and heavy, but I make myself exercise by dancing with music videos. And I love potatoes and greens with cream cheese. I love mixing spinach and dark lettuce with shredded mozzarella and olive oil and red wine vinegar.
Also, I put this powder in a reusable water bottle and sip it throughout the day. Ignore the marketing. It has Moringa and Seabuckthorn.
A lot of younger people have no idea what aging actually looks and feels like, and the reasons behind it. That ignorance is so dangerous. If you donāt want to ābe old,ā you arenāt talking about a number of years. I have patients in their late 80s who could still handily beat me in a raceāone couple still runs marathons together, in their late 80sāand I lost someone who was in her early 60s to COPD last year. What you want is not youth, it is health.
If you want to still be able to enjoy doing things in your 60s and 70s and 80s and even 90s, what you want to do, right now, is quit smoking, get some activity on a regular basis (a couple of walks a week is WAY better for you than nothing; increasing from 1 hour a day of cardio to 1.5 will buy you very little), and eat some plants. Thatās it. No magic to it. No secret weird tricks. Donāt poison yourself, move around so your body doesnāt forget how, and eat plants.
If you have trouble moving around now because of mobility limitations, bad news: you still need to move around, not because itās immoral not to, but because thatās still the best advice we have. I highly recommend looking up the Sit and Be Fit series; it is freely available and has exercises that can be done in a chair, which are suitable for people with limited mobility or poor balance. POTS sufferers, Iām looking at you.
If you have trouble eating plants because of dietary issues (they cause gas, etc.) or just because theyāre bitter (super taster with texture issues here!), bad news. You still want to find a way to get some plants into your body on a regular basis. I know. It sucks. The only way I can do it is restaurantsāthey can make salads taste like food. I can also tolerate some bagged salads. On bad weeks, the OCD with contamination focus gets so bad I just canāt. However, canned beans always seem āsafe,ā and they taste a bit like candy, so theyāre a good fallback.
If you smoke and you have tried quitting a million times and youāre just not ready to, bad news. You still need to quit. Your body needs you to try and keep trying. Your brain needs it, too. Damaging small blood vessels racks up cumulative damage over time that your body can start trying to reverse as soon as you quit. I know itās insanely, absurdly addictive. You still need to.
You cannot rules lawyer your way past your bodyās basic needs. It needs food, sleep, activity, and the absence of poison. Those are both small things and big asks. You cannot sustain a routine based on punishment, so donāt punish your body. Find ways to include these things that are enjoyable and rewarding instead. Experiment. There is no reason not to experimentāyou donāt have to know instantly whatās going to work for you and what wonāt, you just need to be willing to try things and make changes when things arenāt working for you.
You will still age. Your body will stop making collagen and elastin. Tissues you can see and tissues you canāt see will both sag. Cushioning tissues under your skin will get thinner. Youāll bruise more easily. Skin will tear more easily. Accumulated sun damage will start to show more and more. Joints will begin to show arthritis. Tendons and ligaments will get weaker and get injured more easily, as will muscles. Bones will lose mass and get easier to break. Youāll get tired more easily.
But you know what makes the difference between being dead, or as good as, in your 60s vs your 90s? Activity, plants, and quitting smoking. And donāt do meth. Saw a 58-year-old guy this week who is going to have a heart attack if he doesnāt quit whatever stimulant heās on. I pretended to believe it was just the cigarettes, and maybe it is, but meth and cocaine will kill you quicker. Stop poisoning yourself.
Baby steps; take it one step at a time; you donāt need to have everything figured out right now. But you do need to be working on figuring things out.

Putting the work in
I don't remember if I posted about working with my doctor to come up with a GOOD health plan or not, so I'm going to cliff-notes it now.
I went to the doc and started on a new nutrition plan on May 8th. That's 36 days ago. I had started seeing my favorite trainer way back in... Jan? Feb? But nothing crazy. I was kinda going through the motions just to get back to it. Since May 8th, I have been deadass serious.
So on the 8th, my entire diet changed. I'm on something akin to Paleo, but more restrictive. Basically, I can eat all the white meat chicken I want, some veggies, and a few fruits. My drinks are ONLY water with the exception of a protein mix (and only one; SunWarrior). I can't eat any dairy, no nightshades (tomatoes and the like), most fruits are off limits (apples, strawberries, and most other berries are ok), some nuts, and all the leafy greens a girl could want.
I rotate between three meals more often than not (like, 95% of my meals are one of these three).
My favorite is a bowl with chopped kale and cauliflower base topped with strawberries, broccoli, blackened chicken, sunflower seeds, avocado, and balsamic vinaigrette.
I also do chicken breast with a small fruit salad on the side
And my other dish is 2 chicken breasts with zucchini.
Coming from a girl who ate things like 4 chicken tenders with mac n cheese and fries pretty regularly, this is a massive change. I also was seriously non-active. I have a desk job and work from home. My step count was absolutely laughable.
This past month+a few days have been entirely different.
On my gym days (3x a week with the trainer), I get up between 4:30 and 5, do my morning stuff for about half an hour and then head out the door with my SunWarrior shake. I have a 30 minute drive to the gym, and do a half hour on the treadmill to warm up before seeing Jess (the trainer), and then I do my workout with her and drive a half hour back home. Shower, change clothes, and plop my ass in front of the computer to start work.
On my non-gym days, I sometimes hop on my home treadmill or play beat saber or Supernatural on my Oculus for some cardio, and then in front of the computer.
I could be so much better; I could go to the gym more often, I could Oculus much more frequently, but it's still a huge change. I've lost about 16 pounds this month, and good lort do I feel better!

30 Days of Zutara - Day 19: Dragons
āI hate you,ā the little princess yelled at his brother and ran towards the house with tears running down her face.
āWhatās going on, Ziyi?ā Both children stopped at the voice of their grandfather who was watching them from the doorstep. The girl stepped closer and he crouched down to the level of the children, drying her tears.
āIroh is telling me that only firebenders can be dragons,ā the little princess cried.
āIs that true?ā Zuko turned to his grandson with a stern gaze.
āWell, dragons are the original firebenders. Thatās just how it is,ā shrugged the boy.
āItās true that dragons are firebenders, but they are so much more than that,ā the former fire lord explained, āThey are creatures of storm and lightning.ā
āWhat do you mean?ā the boy frowned.
āHave I ever told you the story of Drukās birth?ā Zuko asked his grandchildren.
A pair of golden and a pair of blue eyes looked at him curiously. āNo, grandpa, you never told us.ā
āWell, it started with the pirates,ā he smiled as they sat on the steps of the small courtyard of the Ember Island summer house.
āYou are telling it all wrong. It started before thatā¦ā Ā Katara interrupted with a tray of cool watermelon juice.
āWhoās telling this story?ā Zuko frowned.
āYou are obviouslyĀ not telling it right, Zuko,ā grinned Katara.
āIām telling it just fine,ā he grumbled. āSo there I was on the pirate ship, trying to find the stolen treasure, then suddenly I was surrounded by at least ten pirates.ā
āWhat did you do?ā asked Iroh, eyes wide with excitement.
āI pulled out my swords,ā Zuko sprang to his feet, demonstrating the stance waving his imaginary dao blades.
āAnd then I saved you,ā interrupted Katara.
āI was doing just fine,ā he glared back at her.
-0-
Dragontail Bay, 35 years ago
Zuko crept along the ship, silently like a spirit. Well, he was the Blue Spirit again, even if for just one night. The voice of the pirates, drinking and singing echoed over the water. He crawled to the level below the deck, and sure enough, he found the treasures stolen from the sun warriors in the little storage room next to the kitchen. He pulled out his sack and packed the precious stones inside it. He used his sword to take the golden egg-shaped stone, remembering the glue-flood from the previous time he touched it.
He tied up the sack, and inched back up to the deck, trying to climb down to the small boat that he paddled out to the pirate ship. As he was about to lower himself with the rope, he found himself eye to eye with the ugly green lizard-parrot. The hideous creature screeched. Suddenly Zuko was surrounded by pirates. He dropped the sack on the floorboard and pulled out his dao swords, ready for action.
Before he could attack, a figure covered in black jumped in front of him, seemingly out of nowhere.
āIāll save you from the pirates,ā her voice was gently mocking, as a pair of big blue eyes shined at him through the slit of her mask. She raised her hands and two giant waves crashed over the pirate ship, sending the pirates into the water.
āI was handling them...ā Zuko grumbled. āHow did you know I was here?ā
āI have my ways,ā she grinned. āSuki told me.ā
āIāll fire her,ā muttered Zuko. This was his chance to get out and do something other than tedious paperwork and endless grin-and-shake. He begrudged the women in his life treating him like some helpless damsel-in-distress.
āI guess thatās why they call you the Fire Lord,ā Katara retorted.
Zuko rolled his eyes. āLeave the jokes to Sokka. Or you know what, you are both equally terribleā¦It must be that South Pole moonshineā¦ā
Katara shrugged and looked around. āSo what are we looking for?ā
āI already found it,ā Zuko motioned to the bag. āThe stolen sun warrior treasure. Can you bend the ship northeast?ā
āYou see, you do need me,ā she smiled, visibly pleased with herself as she started to steer the ship in the direction Zuko pointed at. Ā āSo what are these treasures?ā
Zuko opened the bag. āIām not really sure. But the sun-warrior chief was pretty worried. When I last touched one of them, I spent the night glued to a window with a very grumpy Avatar.ā
āIām sure that was an enlightening chat,ā Katara laughed.
āWell, Aang complained that he had to pee the whole time.ā
Katara made a face. āEew, thanks for oversharing. I really didnāt need to know that.ā
Zuko grimaced at the reprimand and pulled out the golden egg-shaped gem. āI think it was this one. It felt alive.ā
Katara touched her hands to the stone, then her expression became puzzled. āBecause it is alive, Zuko. I can feel a heartbeat inside.ā
-0-
āSo you returned the treasures, then what?ā asked Ziyi.
āThen came the interesting part. Because as it turns out the treasure with the beating heart inside it was the first viable dragon egg in many many years.ā
āBut since your grandfather was the firstā¦ā Katara interrupted again.
āYou are telling it wrong.ā Zuko looked at her with a frown and turned back to the children. āSince I was the first one to touch it, I was the only one who could hatch it.ā
-0-
Sun Warrior Island, 35 years ago
Zuko honestly expected a bit more fanfare as he returned to the sunwarrior island with the sack full of treasure. Ham Gao unceremoniously snatched the sack out of his hand, and peeked inside. He took out the egg-shaped gem with a frown on his face and handed it over to the Chief.
The Chief held it in his hand for a long moment muttering to himself and looking rather worried. Then he turned to Zuko. āYou have to hatch it, otherwise it will die.ā
āWhat do you mean hatch it? Like a turtleduck? Sitting on the nest?ā he squeeked.
-0-
Katara imitated Zukoās grimace and the children giggled.
āI did not say that,ā Zuko protested.
āOh, yes you did.ā
āI thought, Iām telling the story,ā he grumbled.
āJust continue, please!ā exclaimed Iroh.
-0-
The sun warrior chief looked at Zuko like he was suggesting to dress the dragons in pink kimonos.
āNo.ā He said on his booming voice. āDragons are born in storm and lighting.ā
Zuko looked at the bright blue sky. āBut itās a clear day,ā he said matter-of-factly.
Katara interrupted. āI can try to bend the clouds for you.ā Zuko sighed. Of course, she could.
The sun-warriors for the first time seemed to notice her presence. Zuko muttered a belated introduction. āThis is Katara from the Southern Water Tribe. Sheās a friend.ā
Ham Gao looked at them with a knowing grin. āIf you say so.ā
āThere is just one problem,ā Zuko stared at his feet, as if the black boots could reveal a solution to his dilemma.
āWhat?ā He squirmed uncomfortably under the gaze of the Chief.
āI donāt know how to make lightning...ā he admitted quietly, feeling horribly inadequate and cursing all the spirits that Katara was a witness to his humiliating defeat.
āWell, thatās just great,ā Ham Gao sneered.
āLet me talk to him,ā Katara told the sun warriors and pulled Zuko aside. āWhat do you mean you donāt know? Everyone in your family knows,ā she whispered.
āWell, I donāt - OK?ā yelled Zuko and all the sun-warriors stared at them. The Chief shook his head. āActually, I know in theory, I could just never do it,ā Zuko added on a lower voice.
āHave you tried?ā Katara put her hand gently on his shoulder, her blue eyes looking at him with concern as if she was trying to calm down a toddler throwing a tantrum
āOf course I tried,ā exclaimed Zuko again.
āFine, just asking, donāt bite me. What does your uncle say?ā she asked.
āHe said that I had to get rid of the turmoil inside me. Which is ridiculous, because I donāt have any turmoil,ā Zuko continued with agitation. āI mean, we ended the war, things are getting better, everything should be fine now. I should be able to do lightning, and stillā¦.ā his voice trailed off.
Katara listened to his tirade then grabbed his hand. āI think I can try to help you with that.ā
āHow?ā Zuko sighed.
āDo you trust me?ā she asked and he nodded silently. āThen letās go.ā
They climbed the stairs all the way to the top of the bridge that connected the dragon lairs and laid down the egg in the middle.
Katara waved her hands around rhythmically, until dark clouds gathered over their heads. Zuko watched with amazement the dancing girl and the gathering clouds. She made it look so effortless and he couldnāt even make a tiny miserable lightning. Struggling made him stronger, but he wished lately that he didnāt have to struggle quite so much with everything.
āReady?ā Her voice interrupted his internal monologue.
āAs ready as Iāll ever be,ā he grimaced.
She stepped closer to him and whispered, āClose your eyes.ā Zuko obeyed. A moment later, he felt her lips brushing his softly, almost chastely. Zuko leaned into the kiss. It was sweet like mango and salty like sea prunes. It felt like home with warm fires and cool water, everyone eating dinner together and nobody challenging each other to agni kais. It felt like being complete.
āDo you feel calmer?ā her voice filled him with confidence.
āI do,ā he rasped, resting his forehead against hers.
āI believe that you can do this Zuko,ā she whispered and squeezed his hands.
Zuko reluctantly broke the contact. He stepped back, took a deep breath and concentrated on her kiss, that suspended moment of complete calm, like the sea before the storm. Like the blue of her eyes.
āBend the clouds,ā he told her.
The moment he felt the raindrops falling on his face, he circled his hand and surrendered to the energy coursing through his veins. This was it - Ā the collision of water and fire. The messy soup of creation. He watched himself almost from the outside, as a bright blue electric spark zigzagged from his fingertips, straight to the egg.
The eggshell broke, and moments later a little red scaly face peeked out from the golden fragments, blinking curiously with golden eyes.
Zuko smiled as he kneeled next to the baby dragon. āHi, little one.ā He softly caressed the scaly head with his fingertips. The dragonskin felt warm and dry, just like the rubbery surface of his own scar. Zuko felt exhilaration; if dragons could be brought back from the edge of extinction, maybe there was hope to undo the rest of his familyās dark legacy.
āHeās adorable,ā giggled Katara. āCongratulations, you got yourself a baby.ā
āYou mean, we got ourselves a baby,ā Zuko corrected her. It was both a question and a plea.
āI guess.ā Katara conceded. āWhat shall we call him?ā
āDruk. Thunder dragonā
āI like that,ā she linked her fingers into his.
-0-
āSo you see? Thatās why dragons are children of both lightning and storm. Waterbenders have as much claim to them as firebenders.ā Zuko finished the story.

8 Easy Ways To Naturally Boost Your Metabolism & Speed Up Weight Loss!
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/eb5214442497f9185a3224d8987b5817/c9537c024f4aa687-3d/s540x810/cb30a837b10da22d9103a07f82e04f012085ae2a.jpg)
Itās the start of the new year! A time for resolutions and setting goals. If youāre like me, you only realized an extended season of eating things that were great for your taste buds, but no so great for the waistline finally trapped with you. Time to urge those eating habits in restraint and rev up that metabolism so we will shed that extra weight! You with me?
Proper diet and exercise will always be the cornerstone to true weight loss, but there are some belongings you can do to naturally boost your metabolism, burn fat and assist your body shed additional weight. We teamed up with iHerb.com to suggest 8 ways you revisit into your skinny jeans before later.
1. Drink More Water
This one could seem a touch too easy, but recent studies have shown that beverage before meals has led to a rise in weight loss in test subjects. Studies showed that subjects who would refill on the water before meals would get fuller faster and eat but they might without the water. You're taking in fewer calories without having to believe it.
Drinking more water also can alleviate dehydration, a metabolism killer. Often when weāre dehydrated, our bodies trick us into thinking weāre hungry. Next time you are feeling a hunger pang, your body might just be craving water! Try drinking a tall glass of water first then see if the sensation of hunger dissipates before you go grab a snack.
According to Menās Fitness, water accelerates metabolism and flushes out toxins from the body, ensuring that your organs can function efficiently.
Try starting your mornings with an ice-cold glass of H2O. Researchers at the University of Utah found that volunteers who drank eight to 12 eight-ounce glasses of water per day had higher metabolic rates than those that drank only four glasses. āYour body may burn a couple of calories heating the cold water to your core temperature,ā says Madelyn Fernstrom, Ph.D., founder, and director of the University of Pittsburgh center Weight Management Center.
If youāre not a water drinker, try adding slices of fruit like watermelon, strawberries, lemon or berries for a touch of flavor without the added sugars found in sodas and juices.
2. Drink tea & Matcha
Green tea is understood for its cancer-fighting compounds, but it also packs a punch when it involves weight loss. Although tea does have some caffeine (a metabolism booster on its own), itās also chock filled with antioxidants. Itās a most notable fat-burning antioxidant, ECGC (Epigallocatechin gallate) has been proven in many studies to be a metabolism-boosting superhero and enhance the fat burning process. Organic Tao of Tea Green Matcha
One study showed that those that consumed tea and caffeine lost a mean of two .9 pounds during 12 weeks while sticking to their regular diet. Another study suggested the rise in calorie output was adequate to about 100 calories over 24 hours. (1)
Matcha, a spread tea is taken into account the richest source of nutrients and antioxidants among all kinds of green teas. meaning, even more ECGC, and more fat-burning power! Hereās why matcha is different: the entire leaf of the tea is ground into a fine powder and consumed within the predicament as against steeping the leaf then removing it. only one glass of matcha is the equivalent of 10 glasses of tea in terms of nutritional value and antioxidant content.
Matcha not only tastes great but is additionally super versatile. It is often wont to add flavor things like smoothies, yogurt, kinds of milk and traditional recipes. Try it served cold over ice for a twist on ice tea and begin burning that fat away!
Green Matcha Tea
Want to undertake matcha for yourself? you would possibly just get hooked. We love The Tao of Teaās, 100% Organic Japanese Powdered Matcha tea. We wish to order ours from iherb.com.
Here are the right thanks to brewing tea so you get none of the bitter and you preserve all the green teaās metabolism-boosting chemicals, which are sensitive to completely boiled water.
3. Take animal oil
Fish oil is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, something many folks are deficient in. Omega 3 may be a sort of fat that reinforces the bodyās metabolism, helps balance sugar, reduces cravings and maintains heart health. Both DHA and EPA, components of omega-3 fatty acids, are effective in eliminating unwanted body fat.
In a 2010 study, subjects took about 2 grams of Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) a day for six weeks. At the top of the study, they lost quite 2 lbs of body fat without a change in exercise, diet, or other habits. (2)Ultimate Omega animal oil
We recommend Ultimate Omega animal oil and obtain ours from our iherb.com. Their prices are great and that they ship super fast. Ultimate Omega animal oil offers concentrated levels of omega-3s for high-intensity essential carboxylic acid support. Plus, itās wild-caught and tested by a third-party certified lab for environmental toxins, including heavy metals. And better of all thereās absolutely no fishy aftertaste.
4. Cut Out Processed Foods
Processed foods are filled with fillers, GMOs, preservatives, sugars,ā badā carbohydrates, trans fats and empty calories. After eating these foods, usually for convenience, we normally donāt feel satiated and can still eat. Ingredients like salt, sugar, and fat are sometimes added to processed these foods to form them taste better and to prolong their period. beat all, these foods are calorie-dense with not much actual nutrition to offer our bodies and contribute to weight gain. to stay your blood glucose levels steady and your metabolism up, limit the consumption of sugar and refined grain. Instead, choose whole-grain foods with high fiber content.
5. Increase Your Protein
Protein is a crucial nutrient for weight loss and requires more energy to digest. Thereās this thing called the āthermic effect of foodā (TEF). Itās the energy our bodies use to digest food. Protein features a higher TEF than carbohydrates and fat. Meaning youāre burning more calories to process protein than to process the opposite two. Eating fish, lean meats, eggs and plant proteins keep your metabolism going long after the hours of consumption. Protein shakes are simple thanks to adding more protein to your diet and are shown to assist with weight loss. Theyāre also an excellent thanks to boosting energy for the day and provides you a meal on the go.
There are many various sorts of protein powders on the market. We quite love this dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan one from Sunwarrior. this is often how itās described:
āWarrior Blend fuses and multiplies the facility of several rich, raw protein sources into a smooth, great-tasting, and revolutionary proprietary formula that's overwhelmingly superior to the individual components alone. Warrior Blend is an easily digestible, nutrient filled superfood perfect for anyone who wants to amplify their health and fitness levels. better of all, it tastes phenomenal! it's an entire protein contains all essential amino acids. It creates a sense of satiety (fullness). Promotes muscle function. Ideal for healthy weight loss. Easy to Digest. Increases energy. WARRIOR BLEND maybe a green product and is suitable for any diet or lifestyle (NOT only for VEGANS)! Our natural, raw process is freed from solvents, GMOs, radiation, artificial colors, and preservatives.ā
Check it out here on iherb.com!
6. Try Supplementing With Guggul
Did you say Google? Nope, guggul. For over 3000 thousand years, Ayurvedic medicine (the traditional Indian system of medicine), has been using Guggul to treat a spread of conditions starting from pain and inflammation to high cholesterol and thyroid problems. Sanskrit āguggulā actually, translates to āone that protects against diseasesā and has been used for many years to fight obesity in India. More recently guggul has been getting more credit for increasing metabolism and aiding in weight loss.
Guggul
What exactly is guggul? Guggul springs from a resinous sap obtained from the bark of the Mukul myrrh tree(Commiphora Mukul). Small and thorny these trees are found in India.
Guggul contains chemical compounds called āguggulsteronesā and has the power to stimulate the assembly of the thyroid hormones and increase the assembly of the T4 and T3 thyroid hormones. These hormones play an important role in your bodyās metabolism and energy regulation within the body generally. When the thyroid isnāt producing enough of those hormones a condition referred to as hypothyroidism occurs. Weight gain and inability to reduce may be a common symptom.
A promising study on guggul was wiped out in 1995 (3). Indian researchers gave 58 subjects 1.5 to three grams of guggulipid in conjunction with a 1200-1600 calorie per day diet and a half-hour of walking. Subjects who took the guggul were measured to possess lost 4.22 pounds quite those that took no guggul.
Guggul
If youāre feeling sluggish and would like to undertake Guggul, Himalaya Herbal Healthcare Guggul is one we recommend. you'll order it directly here from iherb.com.
Although guggul is taken into account non-toxic it's always recommended to consult your doctor before trying something new.
7. Check Your vitamin D Levels
Doctors and scientists now acknowledge there's a definitive link between individuals that suffer from obesity and vitamin D deficiency(4). In other words, if youāre overweight, the likelihood is that your vitamin D levels could also be less than you think that.
Research has also shown that increasing your vitamin D levels can improve weight loss while following a reduced-calorie diet. (5) newer research has found that ladies considered overweight or obese, who then lost weight had a rise in vitamin D levels. (6)
A recent study presented at the Endocrine Societyās annual meeting followed 38 overweight men and ladies on an 11-week diet plan. Subjects with higher levels of vitamin D at the start of the diet lost more total weight than subjects with lower vitamin D levels. (7) Although the precise mechanism of how and why vitamin D influences weight loss remains somewhat of a mystery, the evidence seems to be clear: if you would like to remain lean confirm to urge your D!
What have the simplest thanks to getting vitamin D? Commonly referred to as the sunshine vitamin, our bodies naturally make vitamin D when our skin comes in touch with UVB sun rays. Recommended skin exposure times range from 10-20 minutes within the sun daily. this will take approximately 1,000 to 10,000 IU of the vitamin within the body. But this range is vast and depends upon the time of year, geographical location (distance from the equator), and the way much skin is exposed. Sunlight is taken into account the simplest source of the vitamin. But in winter this will be difficult and next to impossible for those folks who sleep in cold northern climates. Although foods like wild-caught fish like mackerel, salmon, halibut, and mushrooms have higher amounts of vitamin D than most foods, itās still not enough. Itās recommended by the vitamin D Council to supplement 5000 IUās of vitamin D3 daily.
8. Eat Your Greens
Itās no secret that adding more leafy greens and fresh veggies to our diets is great for weight loss. Vegetables supply our bodies with plenty of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, but they also keep us feeling fuller longer thanks to their higher fiber and water content. Plus, they contain a treasure trove of nutrients. When our bodies are properly nourished, we tend to crave less of the bad stuff (you hear me donuts).
Green Vibrance Superfood
To get more of the green stuff in your diet, try having a salad a day at lunch or sauteing some veggies together with your morning eggs (think kale, peppers, spinach or broccoli). Also do not forget your breakfast.

This was April's Bulubox. This box was a little different than the previous boxes in that it contained all healthy snacks. The Hydrant was lime flavored. It tastes like a lime tart with a pinch of salt. Garden of Life Golbar said "chocolate sea salt". I really wanted to love this based on the description. It's alright. It's soft, sweet, and filling. However, it does lack the chocolate flavor. Sunwarrior mocha meal replacement makes a strong chocolate flavored shake. Lyft said it was lime flavored. It's scentless, colorless, has a slight sweet after taste in water, and would make a great sweetener in tea or coffee. In fact, I had "breakfast for dinner". Genuine Coffee makes a good strong coffee that's nicely sweetened with Lyft. I also had Bakery on Main apple pie instant oatmeal. I ate it hot. It's a nice alternative to typical oatmeal. It's not pretty; but, it tastes good and has a wonderful apple flavor. Miracle Tree Moringa tea didn't taste at all like chocolate. Yet, I still liked it because it was good as is with no sweetener and tasted like green tea. I love green tea. I very much enjoyed this product. My favorites in this box were the coffee and the tea. ā¤ļø I enjoy receiving healthy alternatives and particularly supplement suggestions every month. I'm looking forward to trying next month's selection.

Arbonne š»
Now that the summer is almost around the corner in NY, not really but one can dream right? When is warmer my body starts craving cooler foods like smoothies, salads and fruits and Iām missing that feeling at the moment! I had the lovely opportunity to review some Arbonne products and I want to thank Ms Leigha Barbieri for sending me a very sweet care package. Now to letās dive into this amazing review.
- Whatās Arbonne? Arbonne is a skincare/nutrition/ body/make-up company that uses high quality ingredients, itās non GMO, vegan & cruelty free. Many of you, including myself once, are incredibly afraid of pyramid schemes, which is completely understandable, and tend to think that the products that are being sold are a scam as well. Luckily that is not the case, yes there are companies out there that are not legit but there are many others that have scientific studies you can have access to that will show you how transparent and effective the company is. What I love about this companies is that you are supporting your community instead of supporting big chain companies. I completely agree with many of you who say that sellers are too pushy and sometimes you feel overwhelmed by them. But again not everyone is like this just like not every company is the same. Long story short, do the research, find what works for you and trust yourself.
- What products did I get? š±Protein shake š±Digestion plus š±Herbal detox tea š±Energy Fizz sticks š±Fit chews
- How was my experience? I had a great time trying these products out. The digestion plus ( probiotics, enzymes & prebiotics) was one of my favorites, I cannot give a full review on this one because I tried it only once but my stomach felt great for the rest of the day. The Herbal tea was fabulous, Iām huge tea lover and this one was a great addition. The pomegranate fizz sticks did not sit well with me, they tasted too sweet and Iām not into sweet drinks. The protein shakes tasted just like the Sunwarrior ones, a little bit too chalky but I find that almost every vegan protein powder that Iāve tried so far has a similar problem and again too sweet for my taste. As you guys know I just came out of a sugar detox so basically everything taste super sweet to me right now. I felt the same way about the Fit chews. That said we are all different what works for you might not work for me and viceversa. The important thing is to nourish your body with high quality foods.
-What did not work for me? Like Iāve mentioned before, the Fizz sticks & the Fit chews but there is something else Iād like to address , I know I have in the past, but I really canāt get my head around the natural flavors label, itās very misleading. Some companies are truly transparent and you can track the origin of this flavors but why does it have to be such a hustle? Other than that I was very impressed with the rest of the ingredients and I really canāt wait to try out their skincare line, they have baths salts that look super appealing.
-Where can you get these products? Leighabarbieri.arbonne.com And if you have any questions, donāt hesitate to contact her, sheās adorable.
-Are the products affordable? In my opinion yes, for some people might not be the case but money spent on health is money well spent.
I had a chance to ask a few questions to Leigha and here is what she had to say:
- Whatās the main difference between Arbonne and other companies? Main difference between Arbonne and other companies is that we have a strict ingredient policy. We follow European standards. As Iām sure you know, the FDA does not regulate nutrition and skincare products, so we follow European standards. In Europe, they ban over 1300 ingredients, whereas in the US they only ban about 11 ingredients. Arbonne is certified Vegan, PETA stamped (we donāt test on animals or use animal products or byproducts), certified Gluten Free, non-GMO, certified Low Glycemic Index, and most products are also Kosher certified! We are formulated and packaged in the USA, using eco-friendly recycled packaging for a low carbon footprint. When it comes to the protein, it is plant-based therefore our bodies can digest it more easily, and still has all the essential amino acids to keep us energized and even build muscle for those body builders out there! Itās also a multivitamin :)
-Whatās your favorite protein shake recipe? I drink the chocolate by itself with cold water in a protein shaker most of the time, but here are my favorite blended smoothie recipes: Chocolate: 2 scoops Arbonne Essentials Chocolate Protein Shake Mix Ā½ scoop Arbonne Essentials Daily Fiber Boost 1 scoop of Arbonne Greens Balance Ā½ cup banana, chopped 1 tbsp Almond Butter 9 oz water. Ice Blend! Vanilla: 1 scoop Arbonne Essentials Vanilla Protein Shake Mix 1 scoop Arbonne Protein Boost (0g sugar, flavorless) 1 scoop Arbonne After Workout blend Ā½ scoop Arbonne Fiber Boost 1 handful of frozen organic strawberries Blend!
Can people have access to the full ingredient list? The full ingredient list is listed for every product on our website, and is super easy to access. Any additional questions can be referred to me as I have more access to the source of ingredients, or customers can call 1-800-Arbonne Monday-Saturday.
-What would you like people to know about Arbonne? I would like people to know that there is an affordable, healthy, safer option for nutrition and skin care products out there, and there are over 400 products so we have something for everyone! We also do not carry products in stores, so when you buy from Arbonne you are purchasing products online and supporting your local consultant and their families instead of a large corporation like Sephora, CVS, etc. Arbonne is trustworthy, has been in business for 37 years, and is Swiss-based. We are now in 7 different countries. And finally, there is an awesome business opportunity attached to these products. We simply help people redirect the money they are already spending on pure, safe, and beneficial products. Being an Independent Consultant for Arbonne has changed my life in so many ways. Not only is it helping me pay off my student loan debt and helping my parents retire comfortably, I now have a plan for financial freedom and I get to help other women and men do the same. I get to do it alongside my full-time job as a surgical Physician Assistant, and I love it!
Wow, what a review right? Cheers!
