#image commentary in tags once again since they don't allow captions anymore and I feel weird using the alt text for that --#1. bright very poofy cloud sky #2. saw these weird bugs on a sidewalk that were clustered in a pile and some of them were sitting butt to butt or something.. I wonder if #that's how they mate?? or maybe just some sortof strange bug fight or something.. interesting little creature party happening #out on the pavement on that day #3. Its kind of hard to see but on the inside of this watermelon there is a slightly lighter formation that sort of looks like a heart shape #4. special breakfast of scrambled eggs. soy sausages. and jarred artichoke heart. with some black coffee and whipped cream + a strawberry #5. ARBY.. fish ...traditional summer treat available only until like september maybe for like a month. but I love them because theyre cheap #lol.. the next closest/cheapest fried fish sort of option that is easily acessible to me is a more upscale fast food place where you can ge #three tiny little chunks of fish maybe the palm of your hand sized for about $17 lol... so 4 arby fried fish chunks for like $5 is good #6. & 7 - very cool sunset colored sort of pink/yellow/orange flower I found growing wild in someone's yard #8. got as a gift from someone who got it for christmas but didn't really want it and asked if I did since everyone knows Im like The Person #Who's Obsessed With Cats out of any group of people.. but I still havent done it lol.. it just sits there gathering dust until I have #the time on top of my 600 other projects. I was just listening to a song I used to love while we were friends. I listened to it so often, we talked so often, it became the background music to our relationship.

I'm listening to it while I knit. I often forget that I started knitting because of you. I remembered tonight. It's strange, I never knitted anything for you. I've knitted for other loved ones, rarely for myself, but never for you. I remembered you showing me the amazing things you made, and I wished I could get to that level of skill. But at that time, you had to explain to me how to purl because I couldn't get it.

Everything reminds me of you in a terrible way. Everything I do is an echo of you. I started painting so that I could paint for you. I started knitting to bond with you. I hear your voice in the music I listen to. You're haunting the things that I love. Will I ever make a brush stroke or stitch without you on my mind?

#i should be able to block all music i listened to on Spotify from 2018-2020. i was not doing well and i dont need the reminders pls #im fine this was just kinda reflective #so much of what i do was inspired by her. i havent spoken to her in three years. we havent been friends for five #but my first painting was a gift to her. i started knitting because she knitted. i got so much music from her #we bonded heavily over music. and i used it to cope after she left. so unfortunately shes mixed into so much of it #she got me into dnd which got me into a different ttrpg im playing now (unknown armies)#shes a big reason i applied to the summer camp i worked at for six years #and a big reason i took the position i had the last two years. and the reason i told our camp legend (long story)#she was in my christmas in july gift i gave and received this year #i dont think ill ever be able to forget her. on good nights thats a good thing. its reassuring. she'll always be with me #but on bad nights. i feel like im never going to stop missing her #i was knitting tonight while listening to music. as the post suggests. and i was just overcome with her #this is the bed i was in when she called and left me. this is the bedroom we used to video call to practice sign language in #oh theres another one. i was going to be an asl interpreter. years ago in another life. i always practiced with her #we're both autistic and asl is easier than speaking a lot of the time #fuck. it reminds me of the ship of theseus. its 2:30am so i wont be able to explain well but #no actually i tried and i cannot explain. youll just have to understand. some days i wish i ciuld replace all the parts that were her #and sometimes im so afraid to lose the parts that were her because thatll feel like losing her #if i ever consciously decided to stop knitting (which i may have to do soon) it will feel like im replacing a board that was hers #how many of my boards are hers? are any of hers mine anymore? how many of hers can i lose before shes gone?#that last one was asked with fear and hope. and fear. depending on the day #god im tired. goodnight

it makes sense of course that you would not be able to then have a down payment if he doesn't agree to it (since it's a mutual expense too) but don't you have your own money to buy stuff that you want?

Yes and no. All of my money is his money and all of his money is my money. IE we share everything, even if we have it in our 'own' accounts, it's expected that it I need something (like gas in my car) and I don't get paid for 2 days, he pays for it. Or if we need groceries and he doesn't get paid until the end of the week, I buy them. If I want to buy something not in our budget, I generally ask him for permission to do so. He usually doesn't say no unless it would be an exorbitant espense (more than $50 or so). If I want something but can only be purchased online, I ask him to purchase it for me.

This works best for us because I work part time and sometimes don't get hours at all on days I'm scheduled to come in. For example I was scheduled yesterday, but since there was only one appointment, I didn't go in. We would have a slightly different arrangement if I was working full time, but I'd still ask permission to buy things. We also are not well off by any stretch of the imagination, as the only thing that keeps us above the poverty line is his works generous bonus system. So our budgeted monthly 'fun' money that doesn't go to savings is about $30.

#he generally also asks me as well even if its just for my opinion #unless its a surprise gift for me #like he recently bought me a magic the gathering card i really wanted as an update to a deck i have #but he didnt tell me he was buying it #although we had discussed/joked about getting it i didnt think he actually would #because its just an alternate art card for a card i already have/own/use #not queued #he wouldnt do something like that on something worth a lot of money tho #the card was like 7$ and he has a TCG account so i think he got free shipping on it as well.#i also generally dont want for much #like as an example i do my own nails because i dont want them getting messed up at a salon #the only reason i get frivolous things like a massage or my lashes done is because i get it 50% off at my place of work #and its not like thats once a week #ive never been one for buying new clothes or shoes all the time and in fact have too many already so i should get rid of some #we only buy video games during christmas or summer sales #and my main form of entertainment is practically free because only one of us need a subscription for us to play d&d
