The students today live in a fast-moving, pressured world, whether it be academics or social life. While they haggle through these various demands, maintaining mental and physical health is very important. Therefore, the way to handle stress and build up immunity would be through diet.
An appropriate diet for stress management can equip the resilience of a student to the buildup of stress and the capacity to deal with it. This will be a post in which I am going to share details on the best diet for managing stress in students.
The aim is to help them develop resilience and thrive academically. Additionally, this diet will support their personal well-being.
How Diet-Stress Links Work?
It makes its influences in the body, right from mood to physical well-being, through stress. Stress to one whose body is under feels hormonal imbalance, increased inflammation, and reduced energy. All of these stresses are alleviated through a well-balanced diet that supplies much-needed nutrients for proper mental and physical health.
He noted that some foods will tend to calm the body, while others may increase the stress. Interestingly, a high nutrient-dense diet allows students to begin building reserves. This helps them be better equipped to manage their stress and build resilience.
Omega-3 fatty acids: These essential fatty acids found in fish, walnuts, and flaxseeds will not only reduce inflammation but also feed the brain for better mood and cleaner, keener thinking. Eating food that's rich in omega-3 fatty acid intake is fighting the very bad effects brought about on a student's body through stressors.
Vitamin B: Now, the very reason B vitamins are nutritionally important is because B6, B9, and B12 are essential nutrients in brain functions and for the synthesis of some neurotransmitters, like serotonin and dopamine. Indeed, serotonin and dopamine have been noted as two neurotransmitters vital for mood, stress-regulating function, and mood control.
Major food sources for the B-group vitamins: Green vegetables, whole grains, eggs, milk products.
C vitamin: This is an extremely well-known immunity vitamin and helps the body fight off some of the physical symptoms from stress. Citrus fruits, strawberries, peppers, and broccoli are some good sources.
Magnesium: It allows a person to relax, and it is involved in the response of the body to stress. It may be obtained from food sources such as nuts and seeds, whole grain foods, and leafy vegetables. High-stress and anxiety levels may be related to low levels of this mineral.
Antioxidants: These are valuable against enhanced oxidative stress and inflammation, which is likely to be heightened more during stressful periods. It is rich in antioxidants that may be able to help insulate the body from the impact of stress.
Complex Carbohydrates: Complex carbohydrates release their energies slowly compared to simple carbohydrates, which can shoot the blood sugar rocketing up only to come crashing down. A good example would be oatmeal, brown rice, and sweet potatoes; these can keep blood sugar stable, avoiding alterations in mood and irritability.
Building a balanced diet for stress management
A healthy diet is the amount of food ingested that is nutrient-dense, containing all the body needs, and covers myriad challenges of stress a student undergoes per day.
Here are some practical tips on how one can design a diet to manage stress:
Snack Smart: Grab snacks that will hold you well for enough time with the stamina and focus needed to get through your busy day. Nuts, seeds, and fruits are great selections—this trio combines crunch with a nutrient-dense fuel.
Stay Hydrated: Dehydration increases symptoms of stress and more than halves the operation of our brains. Drink tons of water and avoid tons of coffee, sweetened juices, and sodas that make you much more thirsty afterward, with an energy crash.
Include a source of protein, a complex carbohydrate, and healthy fat in each meal: This will even out the sugar as best possible and keep one feeling great. Food examples include a salad with quinoa, chickpeas, and avocado, or a stir-fry with tofu and a variety of vegetables.
Avoid those foods which will most probably cause stress: Even foods and drinks may be stressful. Huge amounts of caffeine, sugar and mainly processed foods only lead to high stress. Lower intake of these foods will reduce stress feeding healthy physiology.

How to Improve Your Coursework Writing Skills
Writing an effective and attractive assignment is very challenging for the students, mainly when the student is aiming to receive A grade in their assignment. Dealing with the stress of working on the assignment along with that managing your student life and the personal life can become very challenging for the student. The course works that the tutors assign possess significant importance in every semester of the university. These course work does not only challenge the critical thinking of the students, but it also has a massive share in the final grade of the students as well; therefore the students take increasing stress in writing the course work that can get them A grade in their finals. However, by going through the following points, the students can be able to write the course that can get them the grade they desire.
1.     Choosing the Right Topic
While writing the course work the student s must choose the topic that they have a grip on (if you are given a choice to write on any topic), in this case, the students do not take the course work as a burden, but in fact, they enjoy working on their course work. Along with that, while choosing the topic, make sure that the topic of your course work is related to your main course.
2.     Teacher Consultancy
Further, take the consultancy of your teacher and your fellow students as a little help from someone else while you are struggling can allow you to write your coursework effortlessly. While working on your assignment if you feel like you are stuck at something then make sure you ask help from someone as asking for help from someone and moving forward is better than being stuck at something and wasting your time.
3.     Plan your Coursework
After selecting the topic and consulting with your teacher plan your overall essay, while planning your essay make sure you give considerable time and attention to your essay as you do not expect to secure A grade in your essay without putting in extra efforts, do you? During your planning, divide your activities and time accordingly and make sure you do not deviate from your plan as it can ruin your overall schedule as well.

If your research is primary, then you must make sure to select your participants and your respondents on a prior basis as it can help in smoothening your research process.
5.     Make Notes
I cannot stress it enough about how important it is to make notes while your instructor is explaining you the coursework, as you cannot expect yourself to remember everything that is being taught to you in the classrooms. Therefore, it is suggested to make notes while you are attending the lecture as it helps you in remembering things and then it comes in handy while writing your paper.
6.     Drafting
Before writing your paper, make sure you prepare a rough draft first and then read it carefully to look for all the flaws they can see in their draft and then correct them accordingly. Drafting is the best way to prepare for the final look of the assignment.
7.     Final Assignment
While you are writing, your final assignment makes sure you have corrected all the mistakes that you had identified while drafting it, further revise it and see if your course work matches all the given requirements of the instructor as well.
8.     Proofread
Proofread, proofread and proofread your assignments at least three times before submitting it to your instructor. Proofreading helps you to identify the small spelling and grammar mistakes that you make unintentionally while writing your assignment. If you have proofread it ask your sibling or your friend to read it for you as they may point out the mistakes that you have might have missed them.

week 5
I must say I am having a hard time so far, I am struggling with an assignment that I was given around networking and I have no clue on how to complete it.
me and my husband also had a huge argument about university and he thinks that I am dumb & should quit I dont know if he really thinks this or he just says it either way he is not being supportive at all.
Studying a MSc is really hard and honestly a part of me did feel like dropping out/ switching to easier modules if there were any but I doubt it.
What I am going to do is just continue with it and see where I end up what's motivating me is that no other students seem to be complaining/finding it difficult so I guess I should be ok. I have also asked for help so lets see where that takes us.
I had a lil cry today over the whole thing but I guess im feeling a bit better now
Not that I have done any work.. hopefully next week will be a better week

Finals week is one of the most stressful times for a college student. It sneaks up on us and we find ourselves staying up late writing those papers we’ve been putting off all semester. Fortunately, there are ways to make it easier on yourself. Here are five strategies to help ease your stress and end your semester feeling good.
1. Plan your week
The best part of finals week is not having regular classes. This means extra time to wrap up those projects and fit in study time. Look at your syllabi and find out when your finals are scheduled. Then, notice all the spaces in your schedule. Plan out when you will have time to study for each exam and when you will take study breaks. Remember if you have more than two finals scheduled for the same day you may seek relief by contacting your instructor to arrange for an alternate final time.
2. Sleep, sleep, sleep
For many students, finals week means studying into the depths of the night and waking up early to get back at it. But this only leaves us exhausted and with lower test scores than we hoped for. Studies show students generally perform better when they get a good night’s sleep rather than taking the extra hours to cram. Know when to put the books down and hit the sack.
3. Form study groups
Ask your classmates if they want to meet up to study together. Two heads are better than one, and four or five heads are even better! You’ll be amazed how quizzing one another can help increase your memory. Other students may also have notes from classes you might have missed. More than anything being with others is healthy in times of stress.
Coming together and remembering you’re not alone in your stress can make a huge difference.
4. Reward yourself
Plan something fun for the end of finals week. Treat yourself with brunch, a massage, or maybe a camping trip with your friends. With light at the end of the tunnel you’ll feel motivated to push through these final days of studying. Finishing a semester of college is something to be proud of. You deserve to pamper yourself a little.
5. Attend Stress Less!
Every semester Curry Health Center puts on Stress Less to help relax and calm students in the midst of the stress of finals. This year Stress Less is Wednesday, May 3 & Thursday, May 4 in the UC. There will be healthy food, essential oils, therapy dogs, card game tutorials, massage therapists and much more. Also on Wednesday May 3, there will be a free guided OULA ONE. The class will be held from 10:30 - 11:30 in UC 326. Come de-stress with your friends!
