Stopwatch AU:

My idea for Deja Vu would be based on proximity and ‘exposure’ to whenever Midoriya uses his quirk.

Far enough away or just uses once or twice, nothing special.

Right next to the person after he jumps back and does it multiple times, they start feeling the Deja Vu, but don’t realize it.

Uraraka would be the first to notice from being near Midoriya the most, but she only starts to feel it around the end of the Sports Festival and probably still be a while till someone puts it together.

It being in proximity to him could be interesting

one time someone wrote a really sad post about lex and hannah leaving Ethan and said something around the lines of "he bought her a ring!!! he tried to stop hannah from fighting because she's his little sister!!" and my half asleep brain combined it as "he bought out the ring to stop hannah from fighting because she's his little sister!!"

anyways, au where Ethan in a convoluted matter of ways (Charles doesn't want the rink anymore after Pokey abandoned it and the fights aren't as crazy, Charles was demoted for the fight, Charles decided to wipe his hands clean of this mess of superpowered teens and just focus on CCRP's aims, Ethan just bought the fighting ring, PEIP swooped in, etc) is the new owner of the roller rink and must handle babysitting superpowered kids as his new part-time job, constantly take advice from a cowboy stuck in Michigan, deal with PEIP's surveillance, and get information of how Lex and Hannah are doing in California.

(bonus points for mixing in Orbweaver)

The Duke of the Lost crouches down to be more level with the man lying in sand. The Duke’s children running away quickly to complete their tasks as fast as possible. Royal guardsmen are rare to be seen washed up ashore on their tiny island, unfortunate pirates, merchants, and fishermen have shown up plenty even the occasional amnesiac child but a royal guardsmen? Never once.

Stopwatch AU:

The more I think about Midoriya’s powers, I’m reminded of the character Francis Grey from The Batman (2004) tv show.

Which then made me wonder, would people who are near Midoriya when he uses his powers, more likely to start to have Déjà vu?

Like it not too noticeable, but after being around it enough, they start to have a small feeling of when he used his powers.

Side note: How did he help Uraraka during the Entrance Exams?

Deja vu might be an interesting thing to happen if he's used it a few times, but it would also have some weird implications since, well, everyone on the planet would presumably start experiencing deja vu.

I'm not really sure how they interacted during the exams.

Tbh the most random ship I've ever come up with has got to be Moonstones (Ruby/Emerald/Ciel)

Like it's so completely and utterly out of left field that it's like I threw darts at a character board and hoped something stuck (I didn't, but the tale of how I actually came up with this ship is either far less fun or way funnier, depending on your sense of humor)

Regardless, I think my favorite thing about this ship is the fact that they somehow work

The shenanigans these three would get into, only for Ciel to make sure to get everyone home in one piece- right on time for dinner

The angst potential too, what with Emerald's betrayal during the Vytal Tournament. If these three had been dating at the time-

Ruby never even got to see Ciel after the fall of Beacon, has no idea if she's okay at all. She didn't even get to face Emerald and ask her why- why did she do this? Was any of it real?

She's offered some relief, some closure, when they make it to Atlas and find Ciel at the academy, but even being in one another's arms again doesn't answer the questions left by the absence of their former partner

Smash cut to Emerald standing in the rain outside of Schnee Manor all cliche-like and saying she knows how to take down Cinder, but she won't speak to anyone except Ruby and Ciel. She's directed to the room where Penny (2.0) lies unconscious and damaged, with Ruby knelt over her and Ciel's hand on Ruby's shoulder

When Emerald walks in, it's Ciel who speaks first, leveling her with an expression as she asks what she's doing there. Ruby can't even bring herself to look up, just clutches Penny's hand tighter

Emerald wants to apologize but she can't find the words. What amount of apology could ever make any of this better? She can't help but wonder if this was how they looked when her actions had caused Penny's death the first time, if this was how they'd grieved the friend she'd killed when she'd betrayed them

Her mouth opens and closes, and she looks away. Instead of an apology she offers information, help. She even offers for them to lock her up if that's what it took for them to trust her, but she can't bear working under Salem, under Cinder anymore

She finally knows Cinder never loved her, that Hazel and Ruby and Ciel did. None of it, none of it was worth it. But she wants to make it right

To everyone's surprise, it's Ciel that gives her a chance first, though it's not long before Ruby warms back up to it as well. She never had been good at holding a grudge

They're barely friends again when they can't return through the portal to Vacuo, when Nora explains that Cinder attacked and they need help and Emerald throws herself against the portal trying to get to everyone, to Ruby and Ciel's hand on her shoulder is the only thing that holds her back

Soon, Ciel becomes the only thing that holds her up, as Winter crosses the threshold with the maiden power and the loss is written all over her face when Emerald asks, desperately, what the hell happened in there

Emerald, Ciel, and Winter strike up a friendship founded in loss, and Ciel and Emerald find comfort in one another's arms again

But the wounds are still raw and the what-ifs plague their minds as they maintain Ruby's memorial and continue the fight in her memory

As for what happens when RWBYJ enters Vacuo and Emerald, Ciel, and Ruby reunite?

Only time will tell
