Malvolio runs the Lady Olivia’s house with puritanical zeal. By day, strict order is maintained and repeated advances from Olivia’s many admirers are firmly rebuffed. But after dark, wine flows freely and Olivia’s lady-in-waiting Maria is planning to settle old scores. When a shipwreck washes up two strangers, the scene is set for a comedy of romantic chaos.
Oliver Ford Davies, one of the leading Shakespearean actors of his generation, returns to the OT to play Malvolio, opposite Jane Asher as Maria. Patricia Allison (Sex Education) plays Viola, alongside OT favourites Clive Francis as Toby Belch, Robert Mountford as Andrew Aguecheek, and Dorothea Myer‑Bennett as Olivia.
OT Artistic Director Tom Littler directs a 1940s-set production of Shakespeare’s heartrending and hilarious masterpiece of mistaken identities and secret desires.

Doctor Who: The Haunting Of Villa Diodati (12.8, BBC, 2020)
"May I just say, you are quite lovely in a crisis?"
"No, you may not."
#doctor who spoilers#doctor who series 12#the haunting of villa diodati#new who#2020#BBC#Jodie whittaker#bradley walsh#tosin cole#mandip gill#lili miller#jacob collins levy#nadia parkes#maxim baldry#Patrick o'kane#lewis rainer#stefan bednarczyk#sarah perles#I FINALLY watched this one. I'm so behind on this series its awful. I enjoyed this a lot for the most part. Doctor who has flirted with the#Gothic before of course but to go full blown night of terror was a really treat. The dream logic that prevented anyone from leaving rooms#Or getting to each other was neat as was the more Sci fi explanation for it. The lone cyberman added to the creepy factor and had some#Great scenes (the showdown with Mary S was both brilliant and horrible). Graham once again provides a lot of the humour but nice to see#Ryan getting some good laughs this week too. Yaz... Well Yaz was there I guess? Her character just seems to get sidelined quite a lot which#Is unfair to Mandip. The set up for the finale is good and Jodie is absolutely on top of her game rn; that whole angry speech about#Choosing who lives etc was classic DW and great telly. I'm glad the doc and by extension the show rejected the 'needs of the many' view in#Favour of saving Shelley. Utilitarianism works for a show like Star Trek but its a bad fit for DW which has always been about the#Individual more than the mass be it individual good or bad success or failure. On the whole a fun ep and a highlight of the series so far#BUT with the caveat that they really could have done better by the historical figures represented. I'm all about portraying Byron as an#Oversexed asshole but the characterisations of the others just didn't quite sit right. MS was too wet! Not nearly badass enough! Polidori??#Why so aggressive to Ryan? Personal bias and the like aside I really had hoped for a bit more of the bamf Mary Shells

Review- Doctor Who Season 12 Ep. 8: The Haunting of Villa Diodati
Review- Doctor Who Season 12 Ep. 8: The Haunting of Villa Diodati
Doctor Who has a long history of spooky ghost stories and almost as a sub-category to those spooky stories set in buildings where corridors and rooms move. The Haunting of Villa Diodati definitely falls into sub-category, and shares a lineage with the McCoy era Ghost Light and Matt Smith’s The God Complex. Even the Detained episode of the short lived spin-off Class is cut from a similar cloth.

‘Many sided’ Dartington Outing: first major queer arts festival at Dartington Hall
‘Many sided’ Dartington Outing: first major queer arts festival at Dartington Hall
We’re a little behind the curve on this one – that’s what happens after a month-long beach party here at PRSD towers (there’s still some sand behind our spacebars) – so this is a delayed heads up about ‘a Dartington Outing – seven days of queer arts and bent events’, talking place from 21-29 September 2017, to mark 50 years since the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in the UK1. ‪Last night we had the good fortune to see Stefan Bednarczyk's An evening of Flanders and Swan. Genius and brilliance are much overused descriptives but in this case entirely merited. We were captivated by the musical brilliance and the lyrical dexterity of the performer. For anyone who may incline to the notion that An Evening of Flanders and Swan be a simple exercise in nostalgia, the performance touched on Brexit, nationalist politics, the dangers of nuclear proliferation, a historical review of Flanders and Swan within the canon of 20th century songwriters, moments of comedic hilarity and aching heartbreak. The George Formby voice for the ostrich with his head in the sand song was laugh out loud memorable. Stefan is also an accomplished stage actor and he uses this ability to maximum effect, taking the audience on a journey that can leave you laughing or crying in equal measure. Genius and brilliance that made two hours pass in the blink of an eye.‬
