Today i learned people are using my mew Build-A-Bear photo for ebay listings evidently? It's not even that good a photo 😑

I feel like googling to find a photo takes longer than just opening up your phone camera and taking a picture of the item you have, but ok. And at least one of the listings wasn't a scam because the buyer did receive a mew BaB (I found out about this whole thing when someone posted a screenshot of the listing because they bought it and it came in the mail, apparently it was dirty though).

I guess if you see a listing with this photo, don't buy it probably? This isn't the first time someone has used one of my photos in a listing for a Pokémon Build-A-Bear, oddly enough 🤷‍♀️ I really don't want to have to watermark all my photos (I am too lazy) but also I don't want people to possibly be scammed with my plush photos.

This building is listed as a single family residence and I think that it could be fun for the right family or group of friends. The 1910 building is in Childress, TX and has 4bds, 4ba. But, the "home" is 18,160 sq. ft. of space and only $530K.

It looks like it could've been some sort of a venue, which would be an income producing live/work situation. When you walk in, it has surfaces covered by architectural salvage tin ceilings, in a reception area, I think.

Steel girders hold up a silvery ceiling and there appears to be a dance floor with lovely faux Wisteria hanging down from a pergola.

Then there's a grass shack with storm windows. Isn't that interesting?

I like this wall made of old doors. You can rent it out as a fun venue, but it would make the coolest living space.

Look at the recycled wood and corrugated metal walls.

I don't know what you would do with this bonus space. It has beautiful stick walls and would make a good workshop. Maybe even a studio.

The 2nd floor is just as large as the 1st, but it's empty so it looks more vast. It would make a great loft apt. It has a silvery Victorian ceiling.

Oh, look, they left a fun sign in the bathroom. There's a urinal, too.

We're going up again, and I'm hoping the residence is up there.

Oh, very nice. If those are the doors to the residence, look at all the free space out here.

If you ever wanted a really big kitchen, this is it. Look at the cabinetry and built-ins.

This is nice- the floor is done and there's some beautiful exposed brick.

It's reasonably priced for such a huge building. If you had lots more money, it has potential. I would definitely make the 2nd fl. a loft apt. , too.

Hi no your world building idea on the financial implications/restrictions of the purge are making me chew through steel actually. Because sure it keeps getting higher and higher financially, but that means that people (who don't just succumb to illegal means) start to develop weird cultures around it.

Like people who decide young that they would rather just make themselves as likeable as possible in hopes of getting a yandere for themselves the same way some people hope to become house spouses. Obsessing over looking and behaving perfect to the point of not knowing who they actually are outside of performing this role 24/7 (because who knows when their potential meal ticket might be watching? Where they put cameras? You can never risk breaking character. You have to be the character and hope they never find out the truth)

Celebrities in interviews talking about how they wanted to be famous in part to have resources to find the best darling and then keep them. People trying to become a celebrity's darling just so they can try and network their own career.

People add keeping their darlings on the list of lottery winning fantasies. Talking about the way they'd decorate their rooms and the things they'd give for mental and emotional enrichment.

Purge sympathizers who argue its an honor for you to be chosen as a darling since it means an easy life for a year. Darlings being financially taken care of, sure, but dealing with people taking them even less seriously as individuals because of the ""privilege"" to the point that then asking for basic rights or ammendments becomes a war against them being framed as greedy or demanding. (They already financially support you, and now you're insisting that they let you outside too??? What's even the point of kidnapping you then?? So what if it's for medical and dental care, that just means people who aren't your yanderes touching you, examining you, not a chance).

Incredible ideas. The culture around the Purge is so interesting.

Like imagine a Yandere who’s dreamed of having a Darling their whole life, only for a bigger and badder yandere to show up and kidnap them? Anyone can kill and be killed. Darling, Yandere, and Normal aren't permanent labels.

There would be Darling seminars, where people could learn how to catch the attention of a high-value yandere. Or Yandere seminars, on how to maintain passive income and keep the darling reliant on you once the captivity period ends.

And maybe early in post-Purge captivity, there are mandatory and voluntary workshops for Yans and Darlings to learn how to coexist together in accordance with the law.

I actually love your ideas. Lottery winning fantasies? Kids dreaming about their future Darlings instead of weddings?

It's easy to map out the laws in a world like this, but culture is so multi-faceted and intricate. I'm actually barking at some of these ideas

• the have the most intense games of hide-and-seek in bunker 9.

• a lot of them lose limbs, become disabled in some way, or are born that way, and they often use it as a reason to build themselves cool robot prostheses and other tools to help them get around.

• along with the athena cabin, they come up with weapons and armory specifically for disabled demigods.

• they build advanced prosthetics for campers who have lost limbs in battle.

• they’re warmer than most demigods, even if they don’t have fire powers.

• they always know when someone is in need of a weapon and they just create it without thinking about it. like they just know when someone needs a weapon before they ask for it.

• they're the only ones who can pick out stuff from hephaestus's junkyard without getting hurt.

• everything, the cabin, the forge, the bunker, is 100% handicap accessible.

• they worked with the athena and hecate cabins to upgrade bunker 9 to allow better lighting, safer rooms, new areas to test weapons, etc. they wanted it to feel like an underground space station.

• they name each of their tools and inventions.

• on birthdays, they give each other personalized gadgets that solve everyday problems, like a self-tying shoelace or a self-stirring spoon.

• they design and wear fireproof clothing.

• they actually have numerous secret hideouts and mini-workshops hidden around camp half-blood (bunker 9 is the only one we know about).

• they keep detailed journals filled with sketches, ideas, and notes about their inventions, passing them down through generations of hephaestus kids.

• they build small, mechanical pets or companions that help them with tasks around the forge, each one with a unique personality programmed in.

• they all have a set of personalized tools that they've crafted themselves, often with special engravings or modifications to suit their style.

• they have made so many modifications to their cabin over the years that none of the original material is still there, and there’s a constant debate at camp as to weather it’s still the same cabin.

• life-sized metal automatons, resembling ancient greek warriors and mythical creatures, stand guard at the entrance.

• they have created intricate metal sculptures that decorate the cabin’s exterior. these range from small, detailed pieces to larger, more abstract art.

• the entrance has large, reinforced double doors, that are automated.

• these doors swing open smoothly despite their weight.

• they have a pulley system for lifting heavy materials, a retractable awning for shade, and a mechanical clock tower that chimes periodically.

• the floor is covered in spare parts and tools that never get picked up (unless somebody wants to use them for something).

• they have underground bunkers for bedrooms.

• the walls are adorned with gears, cogs, and blueprints of various inventions. some of the gears are part of intricate mechanisms that move or serve as storage spaces.

• their cabin has several fire extinguishers and a state-of-the-art ventilation system to manage the smoke and fumes from the forges.

• emergency buttons are strategically placed around the cabin to shut down all machinery in case of accidents.

cabin traditions

• every month they hold a competition to see who can make a device that fits a certain theme.

• they’re judged by a panel of five consisting of the head counselors of hephaestus, athena, hecate, and a volunteer counselor, as well as chiron.

• each judge judges something different on a scale of 1-5: safety and usefulness, ease of use and functionality, utilization of magic, presentation/looks, and on-theme-ness. chiron calculates and delivers the final score, which is the total points given by the counselors.

• the winner receives a medal and bragging rights (until the next competition), as well as first pick when it comes to tools each morning.

• anyone in camp is allowed to participate (though it’s mostly just the hephaestus and athena kids) and contestants have a week to create their contraptions, during which they have access to all the tools and spare materials in the hephaestus workshop (and later bunker 9) that nobody has yet claimed (whether for the competition or not).

• the event is taken very seriously by everyone involved, and even athena and hephaestus have been known to show up from time to time to watch from the shadows, but they always watch from olympus.

What kind of parent do you think Gortash would be if Durge and himself had a kid like Gortash? Would he see himself in them and despise them like some abuse victims. Or protect them with everything he has to avoid them living the life he did?

Very good question!! Honestly, I think he'd be a mix of both. Unfortunately I cannot see him being a gentle dad, even if he's redeemed. Order means everything to him, even in family, and he doesn't even know what a good parental figure looks like. Plus he's so traumatised,, He can barely handle having a romantic relationship, let alone being a parent to a whole ass child.

So yeah, I think he's quite distant. Strict. Doesn't get directly involved in the child's upbringing, mostly what the wetnurses and nannies he hires are for. But he does care for them, in his own way. He keeps them safe with his rules, doesn't let them leave the house without a Steel Watcher, even teaches them everything he can about his position, politics, reading and manipulating people. He invites them to work with him in the workshop, passing on his knowledge about machines and building.

He never shares anything about his past, though. He struggled to even let Durge know, their child has no reason to. He doesn't demand love from them, but respect.

And yeah he would have a heavy hand, unfortunately. It's the only way he knows to command respect at that age. If Durge ever complains about it, his go-to response would be "Oh please, others have gone through much worse at their age. They can handle it." (aka he sees himself in the child and cannot help but loathe it. subconsciously he's beating the same lessons into them that he went through)

so, i tried to imagine Gortash's possible romance scenes and here they are. As always, only DU, because i love them more

The first is a start, analogous to Gale's weave in the form of a visit to his workshop (located in his mansion in the upper city, so we'll visit there at least that way). A chance to check out Gortash's drawings (he's good at drawing, since he needs to be able to make blueprints understandable to more than just himself, but he never draws people even as part of his training. Unless it's a self-portrait), build a prototype of a new steel watcher together (in case of skillcheck false and lack of int the prototype will explode, Gortash will grumble, but won't be offended), talk a bit about your common past. Gortash will grumble that you should have brought some wine with you, usually you always did. Also the possibility to "guess" (or rather to define) how often and how exactly you spent time together and what you were doing: killing (Gortash will "remind", even if you don't choose), doing different things together (but more often Gortash did it, he has such a way of resting) or something else. He will also mention his past and tell that since childhood he knew that the perfect life should be just like this. However, it will be even more perfect when he and Urge take over the world to have a dedicated house to work in. At the end he sighs that it will not be possible to complete this watcher until the end of the brain mess and suggests that you go to rest for now.

The second scene - an honest and open date at his house. Jokes about "while I wait for you I'll die, so I took the wine myself", indications of what dishes from unnecessary captives, and which dishes he ordered to cook for himself, but you can also eat and other nice things are available. The possibility to refuse under the pretext of "I have another one now", too, to this he will honestly say that they have known each other longer than all your squad combined, so are you sure? Here is the final agree/disagree (no polyamory), if you agree (because who doesn't), then congratulations, you have made Gortash happy.

Karen got the fairy type because fairy types are mostly known for being quiet, calm, collected, but also very hard hitting, which I feel like resembles Karen quite well

Oliver got ghost because of the spooky mansion !! At the end of his good route he talks about how the cinema was indeed haunted by ghosts, but he managed to befriend some of them. This was actually suggested by a different tumblr ask, since we originally wanted to give Oliver the electric type :]

Randy got poison, since poison types usually live in conditions that are deemed "poor" by humans, but they're infact optimal for them. That's kinda how they found Randy actually. Bro is also probably a walking hazard so it only makes sense. Not to mention the kind of poison type pokemon that exist that just...scream Randy Jade (eg garbodor, who's actually his strongest guy)

Gabby got electric since she works at a phone shop and her job is to fix phones, printers, typewriters, all that good stuff. Since she fixes items that require electricity we thought electric type was the most fitting. Even if electricity isn't always needed when repairing things, pokemon such as magnemite, magneton and rotom can be useful regardless as shown in the games

Jerry got normal since he is probably the most casual citizen in dialtown. He's just livin his life, got nothing too special going on, he's just a regular guy

Norm got fighting and I feel like it's kinda self explanatory why. Fighting types are known for being angry and aggressive, but also reasonable and kind once they get used to their trainers. Some fighting type pokemon are also known for wanting justice and they fight for whatever they feel is right (eg lucario). Sounds kinda like Norm imo

Mingus got dark because she's a corrupt mayor, but also because the dark type has the most cats. Majority of dark type pokemon are sassy and they all give off this weird mingus energy I can't put into words.

Callum got steel because he works with metal. His arms, legs and his head are made out of metal. There's pokemon that shed pieces of metal when they evolve (aron) so he doesn't only use his pokemon in battle, but also in his workshop, kinda like Gabby. I can't explain it any better sobw

Bunny got ice since he's "cold as ice" iykwim. Tried to give him as many passive aggressive pokemon as possible (and this includes alolan ninetales somehow)

Gingi doesn't have a specific type since it probably ate the gym leader guide book it got from the higher ups. It also doesn't keep it's pokemon in pokeballs since 1. no money 2. the concept of big ass creechurs being trapped in tiny balls terrify it and it doesn't want its pokemon to be "put in ball prison". Gingi also resembles the player in this au thing

Abel got fire since fire does resemble anger, but also power. Abel owns a whole ass funfair and is also part of the minglings !! Bro got plenty of power !! He is also angry at Gingi for wasting his time, bothering his employees and pissing on one of his attractions I totally didn't forget what it was but I remember it happening !! We tried giving him all the passive aggressive fire type pokemon we could find in the dex (he's also matching w his boywife bc love wins)

Mr. Dickens got psychic since psychic types are known for being the wise, knowledgable pokemon. Like fairy types, they're also calm, quiet and collected, but they got a lil touch of wisdom in there. They also represent the power of the intellect, which is pretty mr. dickenscore if I say so myself.

Theoroar got the dragon type, since theo doesn't actually give a damn about building a bond or relating to his pokemon. He wants the rarest, most powerful pokemon under his grasp and dragon types just so happen to fit in both of those categories. His logic is that his pokemon work for him and whatever gets him to the top he will use it

Hobo got all the gods. Dialga, the god of time, Palkia, the goddess of space, Xerneas, the goddess of life, Yvetal the god of death and Arceus the creator of it all and the being above everything. He probably has Groudon and Kyogre in his pc, since they're the god of land and the sea respectively. He got herdier for good measure, it's kinda like Red's pikachu in the johto games.

Tango and Billy are both rocket executives so they don't have a specific type they specialize in, but Billy has a more offensive team no pun intended, while Tango has a more defensive one

Shooty and Stabby well....they obv don't have a type they specialize in since they're pretty much just rocket grunts. Their goal is to become executives one day
