Watch Trevor Ashley shine in Fanny Scat Investigates

Home grown queer comedy web series Fanny Scat Investigates, starring Trevor Ashley and Drag Race Down Under’s Hollywould Star, is now available to watch on YouTube and TikTok from today.

The Queer Screen Completion Fund recipient premiered in Sydney at 2023’s Queer Screen Film Fest and features Ashley as Fanny Scat, a washed out drag queen who turns detective after a bumbag thief threatens her only source of income – an Oxford Street talent show!

Director Tony Radevski describes the series as “Crocodile Dundee meets Priscilla meets a John Waters masterpiece gone delightfully wrong.”

“It’s super camp and super funny! We had lots of help from queer venues and landmarks in Sydney, so are excited to showcase Fanny!” he says.

The series was filmed at venues including The Flinders Hotel, Stonewall and The Colombian and also stars legendary Sydney showgirl Monique Kelly from the original cast of Les Girls.

Since 2023 Fanny Scat has been doing the rounds of international film festivals, screening at the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, winning Best Web Series at the Seattle Queer Film Festival, and was the third highest awarded digital series at last year’s Web Series World Cup.

Radevski previously co-created the animated comedy web series Bogan Moths which was also a festival favourite, picking up wins at LA Web Fest, Made In The West Film Festival, Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, and Stareable Fest.

Ashley is currently appearing in The Producers at London’s West End Theatre but is heading back to Sydney in March to star in Moulin Scrooge! An Adults Only Panto.

Fanny Scat Investigates was originally produced as a 42 minute tv pilot but has been reedited into eight bingeable episodes with some new footage added.

“Stareable Fest 2020 is going virtual!

To ensure the safety of our guests, team, and sponsors, we've made the decision to follow other NYC events and bring Stareable Fest 2020 virtual. This will also allow us, and our Official Selections, to reach an even larger audience, and give our out-of-town guests an easier opportunity to take part in the festival. Pitch Competition has been reopened!

Back by popular demand, we've reopened submissions for this year's Pitch Competition! Finalists will have an opportunity to showcase their pitch live to industry executives for instant feedback and guidance. Best pitch will be crowned winner and score a sweet trophy!

We will be accepting pitch submissions until July 25th. Creators are welcome to submit as many pitches as they would like.
