Just wanted to draw Lucy with the celestial spirits she’s had since she was (presumably) a kid. I think aside from the staff her celestial spirits were her family. I believe they went out of their way to take care of her sometimes ^^.

And as a bonus just Layla and Jude because I didn’t want Layla and Lucy to look identical to each other. 🙌

She changed like, just barely. To be honest I don’t have much of a problem with her og design so this is mostly just personal preference. The vase is totally oc tho :->)

Im aware that Aquarius is an air sign but having the water bearer not use water feels silly to me. And to be honest I like the mermaid idea personally.

I feel like I would love Fairy Tail even more if it focused more on the celestial spirits and heavenly body magic

We focus a lot on all aspects about dragons and dragon slayers, but the stars are constantly important to the plot and the answer to many things. Being a celestial spirit is also really OP cause you can't die, not even if your key is broken, only if you turn human by breaking the laws

There's so much more I want to see, more stardresses in action, the silver keys, acquiring more silver keys, learn more about the spirits and what their previous life with other masters were like,their customs and dynamics, and more of all the lost magics of celestial users (because urano metria can't be the only one)

Honestly, if Fairy Tail started focusing more about Celestial Magic I would love it, and i know a lot of watchers would too

Happy Monday. I am a little bummed out about the community and lack of engagement. I felt like with the announcement of A3 and concept art we’d all be buzzing and talking. Amber Heard Rising Sign Guess Pt. 2/Rant

ASC is probably Leo Rising 25 degrees because (hate her all you want) from a purely aesthetic standpoint, she is drop. Dead. Gorgeous.

🐐jfc she just started chapter four of her life: a twenty year gemini period (@35). Meaning this part of her chart was especially activated. And thus that mercury applying to mars would be active moreso than usual. Mercury is applying to the most difficult planet in her chart up in the place of groups/public. Do you see Lilith and Chiron there too? 😬

🐈‍⬛Ok so she was 36 in April 2022 when that very public trial occurred. This is a first house profection year: those angular house profection years are quite significant. So her first house ruler is up in the tenth house of reputation, where her MC resides. Since it’s not in its domicile, it must rely on Venus which is there in its domicile. This is great: the condition is quite good and so is the placement. However, her eleventh (+second💰) house ruler is applying to mars.

📰alright so eleventh, first, second and tenth were especially activated during that time. These are very public houses. Group, finance, self/soul/body and career/reputation. (Second isn’t usually public but in this case it sort of was due to the court proceedings and the fact she is a celebrity.)

💂mars is exalted in Capricorn which helps to mitigate but it’s still damaging both mercury and the moon as they are applying to it within 3*

🦑Her domicile Venus is extra blessed due to heliacal rising. Ultimately she suffered immense embarrassment and some financial loss but it could have been much worse: she did not have to pay that full amount back and she also got that controversial role back, I learned, after looking for a picture.

📺Idk man I do not think she has been a very nice person but at the same time it pisses me off on a universal level that the entire world is so quick to vilify people. It only makes the situation worse when only group think+cancel culture is present over compassion. I can’t imagine what it must feel like to have some of my worst behavior+words broadcasted for the entire world to see, in addition to coming out about childhood abuse suffered, only to receive zero support.

🥀Idk though? I feel like extremely beautiful people used to being spoiled and getting what they want can be the absolute worst with zero compassion/empathy for others. Like those teenage boys in Leaving Las Vegas (poor Sera; this scene will forever haunt me). Or even AJ and Meadow in The Sopranos. Growing up entitled in a bubble is dangerous, or like Justin Bieber… but it can all just come down to bad parenting. (I have this innate need to be the devils advocate, I’m annoying, I know.)

🎁it’s worth noting that chapter one of her life was a 12-yr Pisces period (ruled by a benefic, best planet in chart), chapter two was a 15-yr Aries period (ruled by mars, most difficult planet) and chapter three was a 8-year Taurus period (ruled by a benefic). Even Gemini (chapter four) and cancer (chapter five) and Leo (chapter six) are all neutral in that they are not benefic/malefic. Idk this isn’t a concept just looking at the big picture/generalization of benefic (good) and malefic (bad): seems like the worst part of her life is over.

🎪Some people may not even hit a benefic ruled period in their lifetime. And some people were born under the ruler of their most difficult planet (and also the longest @ 30 years). Spirit in Aqua at night, reunite. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

🖥️this is why Saturn is the greater malefic since it lasts 30(&27) years vs mars at 15. Then Jupiter is the greater benefic since it lasts 12 years vs 8 years of Venus. You can see the malefic has a lot more territory…

🩵reminds me of a video I watched yesterday in which I was lowkey answered after telepathically complaining/whining🦀🦀 about the unfairness of the fact that the malefic ruled periods are so long, and the benefic ruled periods are so short. Life is basically problem-ridden which is why happiness must truly come from within: the way we perceive the world, cope with it, and find the courage to chase our happiness.

💀because look at those people who haven’t really suffered; those that were born beautiful, popular, lucky, granted success young… they’re kind of the most heartless, least empathic people right? And are they happy?

Here are my personal headcanons for the main 10!! The sketches are a bit messy, but was trying to focus more on showing the new elements I added rather than quality 🙇‍♂️, but still hope you guys like ‘em ! ^^

I don’t reaaaally like the stardresses

But not for the same reason I’ve seen others dislike them? The biggest argument I see against Lucy’s stardresses is that it’s too much like Erza’s requip. I don’t disagree with that specifically. The thing is, in a roundabout way, I would argue that the issue with Lucy’s dresses is actually more of a reflection of the issue with Erza’s power (which I may or may not make a post about). What I mean is, if Erza’s magic was better developed, Lucy’s magic would seem more original.

Much like almost every other magic in this lazy-ass written universe, I don’t like the ‘rules’ (or lack thereof) for summoning them. The power scaling in FT is infamously terrible, so I’m basically preaching to the choir, but brain rot takes over my typey fingees sometimes.

So I’ve been reading the manga because the anime recently upset me, therefore I’d now rather quickly read through FT: 100YQ than invest a lot of emotional energy in an adaptation that really slows the pacing of its printed counterpart. That being said:

Part 1: Aquarius

First of all, I don’t agree with the fact that Lucy can still use Aquarius’s stardress. I understand that it was gifted to her by the Celestial King during Tartaros, but that only should have lasted as long as that war. I think it undermines Aquarius’s sacrifice and I also believe it would have benefited Lucy and her goals as a character for 100YQ. Giving Lucy Aquarius’s stardress could have represented the end of an era but the start of a new one. And it does, ostensibly. Aquarius is basically Lucy’s first spirit, someone who has both a strong connection with Lucy and with her mother. It’s a difficult bond to break, but a testament to Lucy letting go of a piece of her past to protect her present bonds. As a reward for such a sacrifice, the Celestial King gives her one last chance to fight for her future with an old friend’s power. It’s a beautiful moment that acts as closure for Aquarius’s “loss”, but also a hint at the new possibilities for Lucy’s new abilities. And that’s all it needed to be.

However, despite the fact that her contract with Aquarius is, for that time being, null and void, Lucy now overuses ‘Aqua Metria’ at every turn instead of bothering to actually summon the spirits with whom she currently has contracts (and seriously, is there no reason she can’t use Regulus Impact? I feel like it accomplishes the same… impact). This paragraph is just me venting, I find it quite annoying… Not to mention that not having the dress until she gets the key back could be something else to look forward to! Also Aquarius’s dress is probably my least favourite… so boring and just another excuse for Mashima to draw as little clothes on Lucy as often as possible.

Part 2: Borrowed power

Or at least, I feel that her stardresses should be considered borrowing a part of her spirits’ powers. Celestial magic is unique in that the wizard doesn’t just need to understand the mechanics of it, or how the magic flows within oneself. It also requires an extra level of bond and trust for it to function at its fullest. It’s actually a really beautiful power, one that I really admire. Which is why I’m so sad that it’s so misrepresented by its own creator. This is my opinion, but considering that summoning spirits is the main facet of her magic, I strongly feel that summoning a stardress should cost more power than opening a gate as well as be less powerful than the spirit whose dress it belongs to. That way, it’s still more worth it to summon the spirit, but is also a testament to the wizard’s magic power and their bond with their spirit since they are willing to expend even more power just to be able to fight alongside them. Not only that, but it feels to me like the dresses should be the spirits sharing their power with Lucy. However, it feels more like Lucy is summoning an entirely different entity that scales purely on her own magic power. Doesn’t that make her spirits obsolete? She barely ever summons them anymore because it seems that choosing to summon a stardress and skipping the spirit is not only more cost effective, but also makes her combat more efficient. If she fights better by herself than with her spirits, why even have spirits?

Considering how poorly written the spirits are, I’d almost argue that the stardresses, and only the stardresses, should’ve been Lucy’s power from the start. If you can’t do it right, then don’t do it at all.

On that topic:

Part 3: Is he bored of them?

I’m genuinely wondering if Mashima grew tired of his own concept. And by that I mean, the spirits specifically. Because he clearly loves the moral behind them. You love and respect them even if they’re not human. A moral developed really well, at least as far as I’ve seen in the anime, in Edens Zero. I won’t spoil it because this is a post about Fairy Tail, but I really like how that moral is done in that story. But he made 2 major mistakes in Fairy Tail. 1) Celestial wizards are rare. How can you fight for a cause if there is no cause to fight for? He tries to make up for this by Lucy starting to connect with other characters in the way the other protagonists just can’t, like Eclair from Phoenix Priestess and Athena from 100YQ. Great, point for Lucy’s character, really well done. Why can’t she extend that to her spirits on-screen? 2) he seems to have decided that because the spirits aren’t human, they must be one-note?? And only one spirit can have depth at a time. When he needed Aquarius to matter, Loke devolved into the thats-my-wife-guy. Meanwhile Aquarius evolved from raging PMS b*tch to ‘well maybe I do love Lucy after all -3-’.

He has written so so so many characters into his canon, but the celestial spirits, nooo that’s too much to keep track of. Despite how much he hammers home that they matter as much as everybody else. Worst of all, most of the time that they’re summoned, Lucy just seems annoyed or disturbed. So which is it???

Part 4: Help

Happy and or one of the celestial spirits babysitting Nasha while natsu and Lucy are out on a job

Urgh I had written the longest answer to this with this huge scenario of every spirit coming to help Happy in his baby-sitting job, but ofc Tumblr deleted it mid sentence🙄 it went something like this:

Natsu Happy and Lucy go on a mission, plans to have Gemini-Lucy be the babysitter. Lucy gets mom-nerves last minute and makes sure that Happy stays behind (he still gets his share of the reward + he thinks it’ll be an easy job taking care of Nasha, so he gladly oblige)

Gemini and Happy are hopeless. Nasha won’t stop crying: H convinces G to switch places with Aries I’m hope that she’ll calm Nasha down. It only works for like 20 minutes, then her throat opens wide in cries again. Aries switches places with Loke who manages to figure out that they should change diapers on Nasha — yay! She’s still not happy though, Loke switches back to G (he wants to be on call for Lucy too).

Then Nasha starts rummaging around the apartment. It’s supposed to be child safe, but it’s more Natsu-safe. Nasha figures out the child locks, and in panic G calls for backup. First Lyra (she doesn’t get that they’re trying to calm Nasha down, so she plays an upbeat melody — no help), then Capricorn (he gets So Awkward with children that Happy has to face palm). Scorpio gives it a try — he just scares Nasha. Cancer enters but leaves as fast as he came (scissors and kids don’t work well together). Taurus comes in a clutch and gives Nasha a warm cup of milk (except she won’t take it from Taurus bc he’s scary — the milk helps calm her nerves though). Pyxis and Plue tries their best to entertain her, but quickly give up since she’s too shy to show appreciation. Meanwhile Virgo and Leo come in and do the occasional diaper change, but staying as much as the celestial world as possible so they can be by Lucy’s side when she needs them.

Happy and Gemini are sweating. Crux has been doing research about kids in the celestial world, but fell asleep before figuring anything out.

Happy calls out for Horologium in desperation. Turns out Nasha loves Horologium to death and sleeps her very best inside of him. Peace, finally. Happy goes to wash his face in the sink — in enters Aquarius, finally! Except she’s seething in anger about the spirits’ reckless treatment of Nasha. Why are they letting a child sleep in a clock? Insanity, she mutters.

Aquarius is GOOD at keeping an eye on kids. She managed Lucy, and she’ll manage Nasha too. Nasha absolutely adores Aquarius — like mother like daughter after all. One day, Nasha will get to summon Aquarius herself, and Aquarius will feel honoured to be in the hands of another kid with the Heartfilia bloodline.
