August is here!!!

I decided to go for a Star Trek/Moon theme this time. I had already done a Star Trek theme when I started watching Discovery so I thought it was only fitting to do so now that I’m watching Strange New Worlds!

This is also inspired by an OC I have for these two shows, hence the weird looking mood tracker. I will add a picture of it filled up at the end of the month! (and who knows I might eventually post a fic on @mindful-of-ideas at some point)

I worship the Greek Pantheon.

I know that lightning happens when there are more electrons in the clouds then there are protons on the ground and that it strikes randomly. I can still believe that Zeus guides it down on its way from the sky.

I know that earthquakes happen due to the shifting teutonic plates grinding against each other. I can still that Poseidon shapes where and how they strike.

I know that the moon and sun rise and set because of the earth's rotation. I can still believe that Helios and Selene are the Moon and Sun and that Apollo and Artemis guide them.

I can know the science and reasons behind how the world and humans work, but I can still believe that the gods and goddesses hold sway over the earth just like the modern religions can. Just because my religion is older and worships more gods and goddesses does not mean that it is less valid.

Cooked up my bio paper! Now it’s time to get my communications paper done with (I’m never taking another cmns class again) and then it’s time for finals flashcards + psych final project. AHHHHH I also have a final project for cmns which is worth so much and for what reason? Also where is my money and why am I broke???? (I’ve been buying expensive coffees every day)

Today I finally started working on the third section of the Sabaudian states history book I am studying. I read and underlined the first half and part of the second, which hopefully I will finish reading and writing notes tomorrow. This book is the perfect example of how when studying history you need to have a bit of understanding of everything. The other week I was reading about politics and beaurocracy, then military stuff; yesterday I was reading about economy and textile manifactury; and today I was reading about architecture and academic systems, it's a lot. I am still not a fan of the writing in this book, but I am happy I am starting to be close to the end.

I SURVIVED. Exams are all done for the next bit. Data collection is also very soon for my research project so I’ll need to prepare for that! My top priority though are the papers for my electives which are due this and next week… those things will fly by and there’s just a month left before summer yipeeee☀️
