Regarding Psychic Signals:
Hello again Dear Reader! It had dawned on me the other day that I gave a very limited example of these Signals that I have been receiving and I would very much like to remedy this with a further explanation.
So as I stated in another post, these Signals come from places beyond our current Perception of Reality. The main type of individual capable of receiving and potentially capable of the comprehension of such Signals tends to lay in the realm of Creatives, those whose minds are less constrained by the Prison of our world and do not solely confine their worldview to logical thinking.
Examples of Creatives who were both confirmed and potentially capable of receiving these signals are: J.R.R. Tolkien, H.P. Lovecraft (Though often a disagreeable man in terms of beliefs on his fellow man and his interpretation of Those Known as Outer and Elder Gods), Philip K Dick, and potentially many of the artists that seem to permeate the internet. I personally have encountered artistic interpretations of creatures I have deemed potentially existent so I believe that even within our Modern Society we are still very capable of receiving these Rogue Signals.
Before, when I described these Signals, I made it seem as if they were merely byproducts of these Cosmological Bodies, similar in the way that Stars and your average Astronomical Bodies produce Signals and they permeate The Void of the Mortal Realm. However, this is not the totally accurate case. Many of these Signals are in fact merely Signals capable of allowing us to define and gain awareness of these Other Spaces, however, there are others that I would classify as Anatomical Signals.
This is a sub-classification of Psychic Signal that is a mental manifestation of a existent being from beyond our Veil. These beings may be something as simple as a new kind of animal, while others can be Energyforms or Psychoforms attempting to manifest themselves into our Veil through the use of Interpretation. Using Creatives to Interpret their essential Information, even if in a misinformed or mildly inaccurate way, as such things go in the Cosmic Game of Telephone, they gain substantiality within our physical realm.
Now, I refer to our Veil as "The Physical Realm" as it is the Veil that humans can most easily interpret as "Physical". However, this does not imply that other Veils do not have their own physicality, only that this Veil is one of the only ones that is physical in the way we humans understand it. If a human were to enter one of these places without undergoing a Ritual or Process to adapt to the new Veil they would likely be destroyed due to a discompatibility. For example, a physical living being cannot exist within the Veil of Dreams due to the intangibility and differing laws of physics, our minds would not be able to comprehend it in any meaningful way and our psyches would likely be torn asunder by a mere unfiltered glimpse.
Due to this "Discompatibility", a Signal must be filtered to conform to the world it is attempting to manifest in or the world itself must conform to the Signal. Due to the vast and intangible nature of these Anatomical Signals the way in which they manifest can differ. As well, a single Signal can have multiple co-occuring manifestations at a single time. As an example of this, There could be an Anatomical Signal for something that is defined, though loosely, by the aspects of Natural Growth, Protection of Forests, and Dwelling Within Darkness. This Signal would then be capable of being interpreted and manifested as a large nocturnal bird whose scat causes new growth to spawn from the impact point, or perhaps, it manifests as a vast shadow that moves amidst the trees in silence and in its path it disposes of Those Which Harm The Wood and their remains feed to forest.
So, basically, a single Signal can result in the manifestation of multiple beings defined by misinterpretations of its base aspects. This shadowy nature protector has no discernible form or essence we humans can comprehend and if it were to be brought into our world in a fully realized state it would likely unravel the very "laws" of our land.
At a later date I would like to further discuss the "Rituals" and "Processes" required to make the mental transition into another Veil. In essence, it is akin to Astral Projection, though this is not a great explanation.
(The Following Segment of This Post Has Been Made Post-H. Lepidoptera Discovery)
Oh my! What a day of research! I have been conducting further investigation of The Camera in an attempt to uncover as much as I possibly can about what this person had gone through.
So, first and foremost, I have done a small amount of research into these cameras and discovered something glaringly strange about the one now in my possession. It has no battery! Now, this may seem like a small issue, however, I would like to call attention to a small question I have concerning the device. If there is no battery inserted into the camera how is it able to turn on? Better yet, how is it capable of recording?
This is most unusual, I say as someone with very little camera experience, but I do believe this is an impossibility. At least, in the flawed ways we humans and other Veil-Locked beings perceive this world. I have a small theory, bear with me on this one for it will sound rather spectacular.
Perhaps The Camera is being supernaturally powered? See, this individual used this camera as a vessel for holding the knowledge of their faith journey, therefore, it is not entirely out of the realm of possibility that this camera has been affected by the spiritual forces our Unknown Victim was in touch with. Alongside this faith-based power source it may also be possible that their encounter with H.Lepidoptera may have also had some kind of paranormal or supernatural effect upon it. There is little way to know in any form of tangible way what the answer is at this moment however, though I do give at least small merit to the potential of Faith-Based Power Supply.
To return to the topic at hand, The Camera also has some form of strange device installed into it. It seems to be some form of antenna or perhaps Bluetooth device? I am not a techno-wizardry type so sadly I cannot confirm what the purpose of the device is. However, I did fiddle with the odd object and it began to blink at me. I managed to find the Record button on The Camera and the light seemed to change for a moment. I determined that perhaps I should do a bit more investigating before resorting to pressing random buttons of The Camera, after all, I still require The Final Footage of our Newly Discovered Cryptid. As The Holder of the only tangible evidence of some form of unknown creature as well as evidence to support my research it is of VITAL import that I maintain this footage's safety in any way possible.
This brings me to the final topic of Discussion. How do I learn more about our disappearing Victim and the existence of our Mothman?
Well my Dear Reader, such a question is simple to answer!
As I previously stated, I have rewatched The Final Footage multiple times now and have determined a tentative Flight Path for our creature!
So, our Victim was attacked on a dirt path a little ways past The Underpass. I then found The Camera very nearby this area. So, judging by the scuff marks around The Camera I can determine generally where The Victim was being carried.
By my calculations, Our Victim was taken deeper into South Avenue...
For reference, South Avenue is a very decrepit road that leads to the edge of our parish and descends into Old Le'Breaux. Nobody goes to Old Le'Breaux, most people say it's cursed. However, despite the warnings and requests, I will be heading back out onto South Avenue tonight to find anything I can about our enigmatic Victim. Wish me luck and hopefully Cernunnos will look kindly upon my prayer and offering and cloak me with the guise of the earth so that I may find my way and unravel this mystery.
As well, of course, I give my prayer to The Hidden Red God. May his power flow through me and give me the strength to face my enemies and prosper.
Though, I very much would rather have no encounters this time around. I know too little to defend against whatever diabolical fate may unfold from beneath the stygian black wing of this most grotesque of beasts.
Regardless, tonight I make The Walk. With hope, I will find some clue of this lost person.
So, Dear Reader. Once more, Wish Me Luck!

Media I’ve Experienced in 2024 (March)
Puella Magi Madoka Magica:Rebellion (8/10)-Big Cake Round Cake Right in Front of Me!
The Little Mermaid 2023 (6/10)-The singing was good besides that wack Awkwafina rap
Craig Before The Creek (8/10)-While I liked Craig of the Creek, I wouldn’t call myself a fan but this prequel was pretty fun into was the main characters were like before
Madame Web (0/10)-No reason to watch, awful effects, bland characters, boring story
Megaman X5 (7/10)-Honestly, the story was kind of stale but the gameplay was still top notch
Peacemaker (9/10)-After playing him in Mortal 1 Kombat, I loved this show. Fun characters, funny dialogue, and some pretty good fights
Megaman X6 (5/10)-Guilty pleasure, while a lot of it was annoyingly hard, I liked the virus stuff and the story
Avenue Q (9/10)-Pretty emotional musical about adulthood despite being played by muppets
Kung Fu Panda 4 (6/10)-Waaay too safe, the villain was intimidating until being defeated in 3 hits
Secrets of the Furious Five (8/10)-Pretty neat special, I liked the Furious Five from their movie screentime and the show and this helped fleshed them out
The Button of Doom (6/10)-While not as good as the movie. This is something Megamind 2 wishes it could be
South Park (8/10)-After 26 Seasons, this show is still pretty good. It has moments that make me laugh while still being shocking and there are characters I find likable to watch like Butters and Kenny
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (10/10)-Takes my favorite disk of FFVII and expands hard on it. Traversal feels freeing, the locations feel more full, and the story takes some wild turns.
Smiling Friends Season 1 (8/10)-This shows that adult cartoons don’t have to be about nihilism and can be about hope and enjoying life.
Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy (3/10)-While I find Seth MacFarlane funny this didn’t do it for me. The comedy while having decent setups, is ultimately too lazy to make it funny
Megaman X7 (4/10)-Gameplay was repetitive, the voice acting was bad but hey still liked it more than X3
Megaman X8 (8/10)-The gameplay is pretty fun this time, and Lumine is a pretty good villain if they expanded her more
Megaman X:The Day of Sigma (5/10)-The animation is good don’t get me wrong but the pacing couldn’t keep me engaged
Saw (7/10)-Pretty good story about someone who wants to help people realize they want to live by putting them in death traps
Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest Manga (Currently 8/10)-My favorite anime is Fairy Tail and this sequel expands pretty well, the Dragon Gods concept is interesting, the characters are still as they were which is how I like them, and the art during fights are really well detailed
Hello Kitty Super Style (9/10)-I love Supercute Adventures and this show honestly feels like if we got a full 11 minute show.
Mortal Kombat 1995 (8/10)-Fun action and characters. Effects didn’t age the best
Grave of The Fireflies (9/10)-Really emotional movie about those suffering during war
Persona 3 Reload (10/10)-The best gameplay and presentation Persona has ever been.
Godzilla:King of Monsters (9/10)-Really cool action and monsters
King Kong:Skull Island (8/10)-Pretty good story and action
Godzilla 2014 (5/10)-Probably spoiled by how good future Monsterverse but the spectacle was kind of forgettable
Godzilla vs Kong (10/10)-Yup still as fun as I remember it
Hunter X Hunter 2011 (9/10)-As much as I want to strangle Gon the rest of the series is pretty fire
Kaguya Sama Love is War!:The First Kiss That Never Ends (9/10)-Pretty funny and emotional movie
Komi Can’t Communicate (9/10)-Fluttershy as an anime girl
My Senpai Is Annoying (8/10)-I came in wanting Kurobe, left loving Futaba and Takeda
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon:Explorers of Sky-Beyond Time and Darkness (5/10)-The dub is too goofy
OFF The RPG (Opinion Has Changed as of September) (8/10)-Originally I found the fights boring and the fact I was softlocked made it lower. That was a mistake. The story is really haunting and dark, the fights are really basic but not bad, and the locations have an eerie feeling to them
One Piece Film Z (10/10)-Z is a really intimidating villain and the action is pretty good
My Little Pony:The Manga (7/10)-Cute artwork, I wish the stories were better

expectations (a due south fic)
F/K, 1.5k words, additional tags: first kiss, stupid phone conversations, drama over a duffel bag
I'll tell you what I told ao3:
"My writing hit a wall a while back. To deal with it, I decided I'd write the only way I can now—short fic I can seat-of-my-pants in one day. A piece for each ship/fandom/idea where I have wips or thoughts that I can't make into actual works. This is the first one.
Thanks to @nigeltde-fic for dragging me down with this ship, and generally being a champion. <3”"
read on ao3
Maybe it really is a damn Groundhog Day type situation. Only twice as boring and nobody gets the girl, like, ever.
One thing he never pictured when he thought of the after-fraser-life, which he didn’t do very often, or, well, maybe he did, but he didn’t like doing it, point being—one thing he didn’t imagine was that it would be the same. As in, poof, never happened, must have daydreamed it, off you go, Stanley, play well with the boys.
And, well, it isn’t really a never-happened kinda deal, because Fraser, he just lives in a pocket in Ray’s head now, twenty-four-literal-seven, like friends do, you know, or something close. And what with Vecchio and Stella fucking off to Florida and Frannie doing her thing all while they were still doing the big adventure stuff, between all that it’s hard to not notice the change. But other than that—it’s the same job, the same desk (his desk, The Kowalski Desk), the same bottle in the cabinet above the sink and the same—the inside of his head is the same, too, giving him trouble like always.
The way they left things—if that’s even what happened, left things, huh—it’s not what he feared. Not what he expected, either—and it took him many, many frozen-through adrenaline-drunk days to put a finger on it, that there was an expectation. And now back here, it’s like one of those tip-of-the-tongue moments he’s so familiar with, only with that expectation; it circles him all predatory with every lonely shuffle around his dance-apartment-floor and every stupid late night reruns session and every finger of drink he takes with that, and then it wafts away on the wind, leaving him feeling like he missed a step and twisted his ankle. Which is kinda stupid, when you come to think of it, since it looks like all his worst-case scenarios solved themselves and left him with a cushy little offering while he was playing explorer, and wasn’t that what it was all about.
And maybe it wasn’t, because Fraser calls, like he does, which floors Ray a little every single time for reasons he can’t even begin to articulate, he calls on a Friday and brings him up to speed on Dief’s aversion to the nearest Tim Hortons (nearest being a few hours’ trip to Yellowknife) because quote he says it’s cheating and Chicago ones tasted better and frankly it’s insulting end quote and how you pay and pay and pay and how he fixed up the cabin now and the second bed is new and really much better than the one Ray had to deal with up there, he made sure of that (felled the best tree he could find, Ray wagers), and Ray finds himself nodding and humming and gripping the stupid station handset, knuckles gone white, biting his cheek, hell if he knows why, not like his smile could do any damage at this point. “There isn’t a waiting list for that bed, is there?” he says, no reservations worth stopping for. And, “no,” says Fraser, and there’s that expectation, clarion as you please, ten-four, roger that. “Greatness,” Ray says, and hangs up, and does a little shimmy he’s not even ashamed of.
And then Fraser doesn’t call for three weeks, in which Ray is very productive, managing to vent drunkenly at Turtle who looks so unimpressed Ray thinks he actually hears him sigh, pack the bag, unpack the bag, consider terminating the lease, call in with Welsh then come in anyway, chase the latest case into almost three whole days awake and get sent away by Welsh anyway once the Bonnie and Clyde of small-time food truck GTA are locked up, pick up the phone roughly thirty-seven times, put it down thirty-six, and that last time, Fraser picks up and calls out for him softly and he’s too much of a chicken to do it back. Where exactly they tripped in a dance Ray felt resonate in his bones, he can’t guess.
Week four, Fraser calls, only it’s Ray’s doorbell that rings this time, and he picks himself up faster than he would the phone.
“Fraser,” he says first, then swings the door open, “Frase,” gripping his wrists way too tight, “what in god’s name was that—scratch that, don’t say, one thing it was is not buddies.”
“I don’t see what you mean, Ray,” Fraser says, and it’s supposed to make him angry, this far in, only this time Fraser is wrapped up in a soft green-gray flannel instead of the red walking coffin and he has his beat-up bag and the stupid hat on, so even Ray can see through the reflex of it. Fraser tugs gently at him. “Ah, Ray, if you could just let me put my bag down—thank you kindly.’
“You do, Frase, I know you do.” He lets Fraser’s wrists go for half a second it takes for the bag to thud onto the floor—other side of the threshold, damn it—and not a moment longer. “Did you come to stand outside my home and bullshit me?”
“Yes. I mean, not for that, no, but yes, I forgot about—oh, darn,” he says and tugs one hand free to take his stetson off, which is how you know, if you’re Ray, things are afoot. Big things. Momentary events in history. So when Fraser steps one foot in and leans back against the doorjamb and pulls him near—with hands snaking under his arms to land just below his shoulder blades, one half of a hug not yet given, a freakish way only Fraser would go with, which fires Ray up instantly, heat flooding his face like a punch he has to close his eyes against—when that’s done, Ray can find his mouth blind he’s so ready.
“You’re off,” he mumbles, because Fraser is the one with eyes open and he still landed somewhere around where Ray’s lips turn into his cheek, and then only corrected half an inch down, catching the corner of his open-eager mouth.
Fraser presses a kiss there, with intent. “Not,” he says, and then, then he hits the bullseye, fucking A, bingo, job done, you get a sticker—or a mouthful of tongue, because that’s faster where they stand.
“Momentous,” Fraser says into Ray’s hair, some breathless minutes later, and Ray says, “wha—’ and Fraser says, “you said, or rather mouthed, something about momentary events, if my memory serves—well, it must, it’s only been three minutes. I suppose you meant momentous, given the context.”
“Jesus, Shakespeare, come the fuck in, what do I have to offer to get you both feet inside.”
Fraser straightens but doesn’t move an inch to displace Ray where he’s giving him the second half of a hug. “Well, Ray, I didn’t mean to stay, per se.”
Ray disentangles them and tugs at the lapels of Fraser’s really very soft shirt, whenever he’s grabbed those, huh. He blinks once, twice, and thinks about how many bottles he will have to get for that cabinet now, because fucking hell. The bastard didn’t even have the courtesy to rub at his eyebrow, so to him it all makes sense somehow. He looks down and frowns.
“What’s with the bag?”
When he looks back up, Fraser smiles, an honest to god I’m-back-in-ten-foot-snow-and-alive-again grin, eyes kind of superglued to Ray’s face. “Promised Dief to get some of those Chicago donuts, which are, apparently ‘the right kind’.”
Ray steps back, shoves at Fraser’s chest, no way-like, and folds in two with laughter. Fraser looks at him all affectionate, and the absurdity is so familiar it gives Ray a headrush. Or maybe that’s all the wheezing he's doing.
“A bag? A whole bag of donuts?”
Fraser gets this look where his eyes get all liquid and light, and now that Ray’s got the manual he knows that translates to scared and hopeful in downright unhealthy measures. “I didn’t count on being back to Chicago soon.”
Ray can feel he’s doing the superglue thing now, too.
Fraser clears his throat. “Oh dear. Unless—I didn’t mean to presume, it’s only that on the phone—”
Ray cuts him off in a voice that’s too rough to seize the reins of, so it will probably break in there somewhere but it’s all a-okay now, isn’t it—says, “You’ll have to get in here, Frase. I think I’ll want some pants with my donuts, and I’m now in the bag-unpacked phase—uh, anyway.”
He heads inside and hears Fraser shut the door and toe off his boots.
So maybe there was no tripping after all. Just Fraser and his insane moves Ray always learns, dancing skills be damned. Good thing he isn’t Bill Murray—would be awkward to explain this to the girl.
