Helluva Boss x Insomniac! Reader. Headcanons

With: Asmodeus, Fizzarolli, Stolas and Loona

Asmodeus

Asmodeus runs a nightclub type establishment. (Or atleast i think thats what Ozzies is). So he's used to being up late.

He does take note of you, always seeming to be awake, no matter the time.

Doesn't really do much, because as long as nothing really seems to be wrong he won't want to bother you about it.

Is kinda sad he doesn't get to sleep with you as much tho (In the cuddly kind not the sexual kind).

One day decides to ask you about it, mainly from curiosity.

When you tell him that you're an insomniac he kinda gets surprised.

But after thinking about it he does kinda think he should have realized earlier.

Will try to stay up with you on the nights where he doesn't have to do much the next day (Which is rarely).

Fizzarolli

Fizz has alot of energy some times, and on thoose days he does have difficulty sleeping.

Usually just rubs one out or has some ''fun time'' with you, or just alone.

He does however notice that on the same nights he can't sleep, neither can you.

When you do tell him that you're an insomniac (if he didn't already put 2 and 2 together). He'll likely ask something along the lines of, ''So whats keepin' ya up babes?''

Will cuddle with you if you'd prefer to do that in order to try and fall asleep.

Might suggest some medication for falling asleep. Or try and get drunk as hell with you.

Sometimes will wrap his arms around you if he feels like you've been getting too little sleep.

Loona

She has a habit of falling asleep at I.M.P when having nothing else to do, or sometimes when she just feels like it.

Is probably the quickest to notice your lack of sleeping.

She will likely ask you about it because its keeping her up at night.

When you tell her about you either really struggeling with getting sleep or just not being able to sleep at all, she gets uhhhh, a bit confused.

Like how can you NOT fall asleep at that boring office, or in a comfortable bed?

Will rarely pick you up so she can lay with you while she sleeps, and hopefully have you fall asleep as well.

She once tried to play some music and stuff to try and see if that helped.

She to awoke to some shitty song and her phone reccomending more of said shitty songs.

Just kinda accepts that you don't fall asleep nowadays.

Not like its gonna prevent her from sleeping either.

Stolas

Stolas has a giant comfy bed, so why he finds you awake at 3 am in the kitchen just doing whatever, is something thats on his mind.

Will ask you about it being concerned that you might be having nightmares or something keeping you awake.

If you do tell him about your insomnia, he will be a bit relieved that you aren't awakening from nightmares.

Allthough he might be wondering if something is keeping you up unless you clarify that to him.

Will try to use spells to see if that helps you, if you want to try it out.

if not then cuddles will do.

He LOVES cuddles.

If you cant sleep then can you atleast cuddle untill he falls asleep? He would like it if you did.

Stolas will try anything and everything to help you sleep, if you wanna go to sleep that is.

If not then he'll be content once he realizes that you'll always be there, if he has a nightmare or just wants a lil kiss.

(Sorry for if you guys wanted a different character but im not trying to spend eternity writing for every character i can think of rn. Also sorry if they arent too accurate, i will accept any criticism and try to improve).

Nesta’s story is not finished. Getting an Elain book next would not be smart. She’s irrelevant. Nesta’s arc was at least built within Feyres books. SJM needs to do that with Elain in Nesta’s second book because right now Elain could be killed off and it would have no impact as she contributes nothing to the story. I literally forgot about her in SF. You all put her on this high horse that she doesn’t even deserve to be on. She’s irrelevant and her book now would be boring and ruin the series and everyone would leave.

Nesta’s story and Arc is very much finished. By the end of acosf - we see her happy, healing surrounded by her new made family whilst also healing her relationship with the IC. We see Nesta grow and take on a more prominent role as well as her becoming something. We also witnessed her love story with Cassian that Mass left on a happy note - with them being mated and having a mating ceremony for it.

Sorry, but Nesta is not getting another book. HOFAS simply shows there’s history to the archerons sisters that we will learn about & the family is important.

There’s only 3 spinoffs anon. If Nesta got a duology -> Elain would have to get a duology and that requires 4 books altogether surpassing What Mass was contracted for.

Elain does have an arc in SF, just bcs you ignored it doesn’t mean its not there. Elain becoming bolder, speaking up - reminder of her traumas and how she still has powers from the cauldron. Feysands bonus telling us there’s more to Elain then meets the eye -> Thats enough information to set her up as the next protagonist. Remember these books are standalones, in SF we did not need to see Elain or have her developed too much that acosf then becomes important to read in order to understand her book. We got hints here and there and thats enough.

I could say the same for Nesta in acofas. If you killed her off then, it would not have affected the plot one bit, a characters main development should come from their own book. Look at how important Nesta is now AFTER she’s had her book? The same will happen to Elain.

“Elains book would be boring!” To YOU. There are thousands out there who are intrigued for Elains story. And even those that arent’ will still read an Elain book bcs Sjm has a fandom that would eat up and consume whatever she writes and puts out.

“everyone would leave” Thank God. We need a fandom cleanse.

Rafe thinks this is a terrible idea. She doesn’t even have a license. He doesn’t know why Topper allowed her to do it in the first place; Rafe told his best friend he shouldn’t. Topper doesn’t listen though because whatever the Kook Princess wanted, she got. So now, all Rafe can do is watch in judgment while the brother helps his sister get ready for her first solo ride on her own bike. She nods with a concentrated look on her face as her twin goes over the workings of the bike. Once she is ready, she places her purple custom-made helmet on her and swings her leg over the seat. Topper heads to his bike and gets on, jutting his chin in Rafe’s direction. 

He nods, “Alright, let’s go.” Four engines rev and the motorcycles are propelled forwards. Wind breezes past them as they navigate the streets under the glow of the moonlight. They don’t have a destination in mind. They never do. Their late-night drives are about the atmosphere. 

The leader of the group’s head swivels, spotting Kelce and Top easily beside him. His eyebrows furrow behind his helmet when he can’t see Y/N. He eases his fingers off the throttle and his speed begins to decelerate. The boys quickly overpass him, which reveals her location at the back of the group. Rafe passes his gaze over her figure and notices the way the sides of her leather jacket trail behind her because it is unzipped. His right hand lifts for a second to motion to the next exit and he hopes she understands what he means. 

The duo finds a dirt clearing on the side of the road and pulls into it. Their engines turn off almost in synch. She remains straddling her bike and observes while he gets off his and takes his headgear off. “Why did we pull over?” she questions. He doesn’t respond immediately. Instead, he gets signs for her to hop off her bike. She follows his orders and kicks the stand down so she can lean against her belt. She doesn’t take her helmet off but does when she sees he is waiting for her to do so. “See, talking is so much easier when we can all hear each other,” he mumbles, standing in front of him. He reaches down for the bottoms of her jacket and brings them together by the zipper. “Now, we pulled over because your jacket wasn’t zipped. It’s cold and it could distract you while you ride.” Her head bobs at her words and she thanks him after he finishes. “Are you okay? You’re training behind us. Are you hungry? Thirsty?” he interrogates. She doesn’t need to think about her response, “I’m okay. I don’t need anything. I just need to get used to the feeling. I think.”

“If you’re sure, then okay. We can get back on the road. I’m sure Kelce and Top are waiting for us,” Rafe announces, stepping back to head back to his motorcycle when he processes her full outfit. “Damn it. This is exactly why I told your brother this was a bad idea. You can’t even wear the right clothes,” he mumbles to himself. He approaches her again, removing his protective jacket. “What are you doing?” she objects, feeling the material wrap around her waist. He gives it one final tug and stands back in satisfaction. The sleeve of his jacket carcass her waist and the back of it brushes against the back of her knees. He subtly bites his bottom lip at the sight. 

“Your shorts are too short. If you get into an accident, your legs aren’t protected,” he informs, resuming his path to his vehicle. Her hand darts out from her side and her fingers wrap around his wrist. He spins in her direction with concern in his eyes, “Is everything okay?” She gives him a warm smile, stepping forward to place a kiss on his cheek. “Thank you for your advice and concern. I know you don’t like this idea,” she whispers. Her helmet slides back onto her head and she gets onto her bike. He turns away to hide his smile, muttering a “You’re welcome” under his breath. 

Rafe sits on his motorcycle and the two of them get back onto the highway. It doesn’t take them long to find their other riding companions, who were clueless about the sweet moment shared between them and the feelings growing between them.

whatever not a massive issue but it does annoy me how frequently ppl misuse the term queerbait. i can think of like 4 actual cases of queerbaiting and by queerbaiting i mean like shamelessly leaning into gay subtext as a marketing technique whilst never intending to make it text. that is what queerbaiting means. it is actually pretty rare. its not queerbaiting if a gay couple who are textually shown to be attracted and interested in each other do not get together in the end. that is antithetical to what queerbaiting actually is bc if u give the game away and actually make them gay you lose! you arent queerbaiting anymore. and it basically never happens bc the sort of shows that need random gay teenagers to be obsessed with them in order to keep making money kind of just dont exist in the same way in 2024. i feel like the mainstream use of queerbaiting as a shorthand for an accusation of homophobia is kind of sorry for being dramatic but its kind of bad for like art in general

she had ordered herself a dirty martini and a round of shots for her and kiyoko. the boys had eventually made their way over to the two of them and they had also ordered shots to go along with yn and kiyoko's. they all took shots and then after a little bit kinda dispersed. yn stayed at the bar, ordering drink after drink. "someones feeling a bit down." a voice sounded to her right, she turned her head, the man next to her wasnt ugly thats for sure, but she just shook off those thoughts, what would atsumu think? wait we arent even together anymore, she thought, "yeah a little." she just laughed it off slightly, "you here alone?" "no, my friends are around here somewhere, my one friend is a bit of a party animal so hes off on the dance floor somewhere." the man just nodded and hummed. "how 'bout i buy you a drink?" a conflict in her mind happened. should i let him buy me a drink? i mean its just a drink right? she nodded her head, humming, as the man asked the bartender to make her whatever she was having. she and the man chatted for a little while until-

"yn? what are you doing here?" a familiar voice sounded. her head basically cracked over her shoulder, seeing her ex-boyfriend. "what do you mean what am i doing here? its a public club." she retorted back, getting out of her seat, the man she was talking to just watching this go down. "yeah but this is my club." "the sign doesnt say club atsumu, but good try!" he just snickered, "you should be at home, taking care of your bird or whatever." "for one dont tell me what i should be doing, and for two we let the bird go like forever ago. i can be wherever i want to be." "and i guess with whoever too? who is this guy anyway." atsumu walked up to the man who yn was chatting with. "just a guy i met, he actually took the time to ask about my day, unlike someone i know." "oh is that so?" yn just nodded.

"i, uh, think im gonna go." the man yn was talking to earlier said "yeah that seems like a good idea." another male voice boomed. she looked up after the other guy walked away. sakusa. what was he doing here? well i mean, she knew what he was doing here. but why was he next to her right now? "do you want me to take you home?" was all he said as they stared at each other. she just sighed and nodded.

Sorry abt the radio silence on and off again guys, its the same old story tbh, life stuff like fulltime job, just moved again (30 min away but still woof), etc

I havent stopped thinking abt you guys for a minute i stg lol - i keep wanting to come back and post and whatnot, but the fics i promised (and am still in the trenches fighting to finish) have rlly been the big bog down of this blog for me

So i felt like anytime i had to write, i would try to spend writing the fic(s) but that meant no asks getting answered or posted 🫠💔

Ill instead take the pressure off myself to get those done, and simply chip away at it as i please, and focus on asks instead

I think the next big step ive been thinking about for a few months now and decided to go ahead with is clearing my inbox out some!

Also, my ao3 works are now locked down, due to recent AI scrapping, both personally thats been done to one of my works by a rando guest, and that general sweep that happened to ao3 recently.

I believe 4, maybe 5 out of my 6 works were taken.

They are still readable, but you have to be a registered user first, and I think I will be continuing that for my future works, as unfortunate as it is, because i generally like my writing to be accessible. But these idiots are making Ai wanna write stories instead of solve our math problems or clean our streets or something more useful, so here we are.

Really wish I could do something similar for tumblr, but i guess we cant have an ethical peaceful society everywhere...

ok sorry it took forever for me to answer i may have gone slightly overboard with the doodles but I REALLY LIKE DEVWINN AND MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE A WHOLE UNWRITTEN FIC ABOUT THEM IN HIGH SCHOOL AND LIKE 7 MILLION HCS ABOUT HOW THEY MET AND THEIR FUTURES AND UHH UHH hcs/all the stuff leading up to my unwritten fic are all below the cut if youre interested ✨✨

winn moved to dimmadelphia in the fourth grade

pretty much instantly dev "befriended" them and started being really clingy with them. he had a MASSIVE crush on them right from the start

winn wasnt actually all that big a fan of dev at first because yk he was mean to most of the other kids, but they didnt want to hurt his feelings so kind of went along with him

(side note i hc that dev has literally been wearing pretty much the same outfit since forever. hes so autism)

dev and winn only got to being real friends once hazel and dev became friends (bc yk shes got the balls to actually tell dev when hes doing something mean, so thats rlly when dev started improving as a person)

winn and dev had the same homeroom in sixth grade and ended up sitting right next to each other, which was when they really started becoming a Duo

winn broke their arm in a skating accident during the winter break of their sixth grade year, dev was the first one they got to sign the cast :] winn never stopped skating but they did do it a lot less + more carefully after that (by order of their parents)

dev started growing his hair into a mullet in the seventh grade because he "thought it looked cool" (<< started noticing his gender dysphoria and wanted longer hair in an attempt to quell it)

winn thought they were bi for all of seventh grade and most of eighth grade bc they had a crush on dev

SPOILER ALERT dev is a trans girl, she comes out in the eighth grade and her chosen name is devine. she still goes by dev but all her friends know what its short for

dev doesnt want to come out to her dad bc she doesnt know how hell react. (tbh if she did come out, her dad would be super supportive and good with prns and names and terms in public, but slip up a ton in private bc he doesnt care as much when people arent watching)

obv winn told jasmine and hazel about their crush right when it started developing, so it became kind of an inside joke between the three that winn has "transbian senses" after dev came out

just before ninth grade, winn decided to get a buzzcut, and theyve been growing it out ever since (this is mostly bc as much as i love dyed hair undercut enby/trans characters THERES TOO MANY PLEASE CHOOSE A DIFFERENT HAIRSTYLE FOR YOUR FICTIONAL TRANSES AND ENBIES SOBBING)

they bleached it blonde when it was about two inches long, and never bothered to cut off the blonde so now they just have blonde tips

winn ended up being 6'5" and joined varsity basketball in the tenth grade because they didnt wanna waste that height

dev stole their original varsity jacket because it was comfy (and because it was winns and it brings her comfort) and then paid for their replacement jacket

jasmine started learning how to sew and embroider clothes over the summer between ninth and tenth grade and so helped devine sew on her own name tag (dev just told her dad jasmine was a bad speller and tbh dale didnt care and was like ok son whatever)

dev ended up stuck at the spectacular height of a middle schooler (5'2") and winn thinks its adorable. theyre strong enough to pick her up whenever they hug her. sometimes when they get excited they spin her around

dev also started wearing her hair curly occasionally in the tenth grade bc winn told her she looked pretty with it like that. her dad doesnt like it when she doesnt slick it back and gets passive aggressive about it whenever he sees her like that

winn started getting panic attacks from all the pressure of high school after joining the basketball team, and dev usually ends up talking them through it, although jasmine and hazel are also good at helping them

they dont think their anxiety is bad enough to be a disorder so they never get a diagnosis/help (until Things Happen in my fic :]]] )

hazel and jasmine are both aroace (in this timeline at least, ive got a few other fic ideas where hazel is bi) and in a qpr. they are also fandom girlies and fic writers, so when dev finally tells them in the middle of tenth grade that she has a crush on winn (and has for a while) theyre both like OOOOOOOHHHHHH I SHIP IT and they, along with cosmo and wanda, start trying really hard to get them together

very awkward comforter, i think i might have said this somewhere; in fact i may have had a similar request to this a while ago but i truly do not remember and i cant be bothered to look through the sea of TADC stuff ive written... but she would be SO bad at comforting people; like she just stands there before awkwardly patting your back. and thats assuming she goes through with the action, theres a solid chance she just. asks outright if youre okay in this nervous voice trying to be gentle. its not her fault i prommy, shes just bad at comforting people. offers to take you to her room so you have some privacy, kind of just lets you let it all out

RAGATHA:

again i might be biased for ragatha because ive really fallen in love with her since i opened up requests but she would be the absolute queen of comfort. speaks in a really soft voice as she takes you off to yours or her room, sets you down on the bed and lets you lean on her for support (metaphorically and literally!). gives you the softest blankets and pillows, and simply lets you pour your heart out. asks if you want comfort or solutions; because both have their time and place i think. sometimes you want solutions, and sometimes you just want pure comfort. ragatha gets it. and whichever one you want, shes going to deliver on it! will likely take it upon herself to try to solve the issue if its an external thing that made you upset. 10/10 love her

JAX:

believe or not i think he would be the type to try to confront the thing upsetting you yourself, especially if it was someone who had upset you. best way i can explain it is like. you know that one pizza episode of spongebob where squidward stands up for spongebob to that rude customer who made him cry? it would have the same energy, i think. asshole who actually has a heart stepping in to defend someone when there needs to be justice type deal. now if he was the one who made you upset, say by one of his pranks, then it might take him a minute for the guilt to kick in but it would be there... eventually. does feel bad, tries to cheer you up and does try to apologize, i think

KINGER:

oddly enough i think he would be up there in terms of how good he is with comforting people! i say odd because he seems so out of it a lot of the time. but i think the second he sees your tears hes just laser focused. very similar to ragatha in terms that he takes you away and lets you speak. to the pillow fort! lets you cry into the fur of his robe, too... rubs circles into your back. this man carries the same level of comfort that sweet old people carry, if that makes sense. the type of person so say "ive got you" when comforting someone, i think

ZOOBLE:

has to do a double take when they see you crying. like pomni i think theyre bad at comforting... but not as much, if that makes sense. if it was someone who had made you upset, they probably try to tell you that they arent worth the time of day and that youre better than them. strikes them with the curse of them also giving you awkward back and shoulder pats, but its even more awkward and uncomfortable because they have weird hard plastic hands. look, ok. theyre trying, theyre likely trying their best too- honestly i think their main form of comfort is talking shit about the person or thing that made you feel bad

GANGLE:

honestly she might cry with you. admittedly i dont see gangle herself being the best comforter when someone is crying; especially if its someone she cares so deeply about. i think like everyone else, she would gently take her hands in yours and guide you off to the side so you can have some privacy and decency. she does try her best to try to cheer you up; and i think that she would have better luck with it if her comedy mask isnt broken! but if it is, its likely that shes going to cry with you. probably leads to vent sesh between the two of you where you vent to one another and cry. hey, that works too, i think! not to say that she is trying to purposefully trying to make it about herself too, but like. her way of empathizing with you. "oh hey we're both having a bad day, let me show how i can relate to you so you feel less alone" type deal

The black liquid that comes out of Killer is determination right? The DETERMINATION from Chara that’s corroding and eating away at the essence of the ghost child because monsters absorb human souls? So does Chara eventually “die” but Killer hallucinates them, and an example of this is when Killer is kidnapped to work for Nightmare? Or does Chara still remain with Killer but will eventually “die” away?

(I may or may not have to delete at least 5k of things depending on the answer sldhdlfhdke xD)

You can go with any answer you want, Killer’s creator certainly wouldn’t mind. Whenever anyone asked about Chara however, we’ve gotten answers such as “he feels like they’re always watching him,” in Stage 1 he’s able to see and hear and talk to them as if they are outside of himself—like a hallucination. And it’s highly unlikely Killer in Stages 1 or 2 would tell anyone about Chara, so they’ll never be able to reassure him if they’re real or not.

In Stage 2, Killer merely points to his head when asked where Chara was, and he hears their voice from inside himself—but ultimately attempts to ignore and tune out their voice. I don’t recall ever seeing him directly talk face to face with Chara in this Stage, in any of the canon drawings or comics.

Rahafwabas has referred to Chara in an ending where he has turned on them as “not real,” although I highly doubt Killer himself would be able to convince himself of such things consistently. His grasp on reality, if anything is real or not, is tenuous; and he cannot touch Chara to be sure. Neither would he want to.

Basically, regardless of if you view them as real or not, Killer has internalized his abuser as apart of himself, inside himself, watching him and making sure he is still compliant. A part of him that is tied to the Deal, and terrified of the consequences of not upholding it.

On a more headcanon level, this may have even been a deliberate thing, via gaslighting and manipulating Killer at his lowest moments to ensure that Chara is still wins if they arent physically around anymore for whatever reason. (And Stage 4 is referred to as “Chara wins.”)

I suppose you could say the Chara in the head is an internal handler, either deliberately implanted and/or a trauma induced hallucination here to provide guidance and order to parts of Killer that need it to function via fear and commands—perhaps even as a form of self protection, to not allow himself to have hope that escape from his circumstances is possible. Because having hope is viewed to be dangerous.

It’s be easy to control Killer through convincing him that Chara is or isn’t in real, in the latter case. If anyone can convince Killer that they can hear and see and talk to Chara, then it’s an easy way to have control over Stage 4 without the need of a heart locket.

Ultimately, however, you don’t have to edit or change a single thing if you don’t want. Want them to be real? Go ahead. Want them to be a hallucination or something of the sort? Go ahead.

Killer himself is unlikely to ever know for sure. Not unless he meets a therapist, or he finds the courage to talk to someone about them—and this person starts sharing their own thoughts on Chara.
