Horrible fact of the day: Chevron just released a new boat fuel that WILL give you cancer.

Not "might", not "could", WILL. It has a cancer ratio of 1.3:1, as in, in a group of 10 people, 10 would contract CANCER.

(Edit: apparently some articles are now saying 1.4:1, and some are saying a little under that. Either way, the consensus seems to be anywhere between a 95-100+% of contracting cancer, with some expectations of this fuel not even needing a full lifetime of exposure for you to get Cancer.)

The EPA's safety limit is 1:1,000,000 as in 1 in a million people get cancer.

The EPA approved it anyways. I am not joking. The EPA approved a boat fuel that has a near 100% chance of giving someone cancer. It has such a good chance of giving someone cancer that if you DIDN'T get cancer YOU WOULD BE AN OUTLIER.

Fuck the oil industries.

yes! that is definitely a scenario i would like to explore in the fic when i get to it. also why i want to write the fic with multiple different Y/Ns so we can explore different experiences and relationships with food

there is a "main Y/N" who is a glutton who likes to try anything and everything. i haven't done the research for it so i can't say whether or not they have an eating disorder, but they DO have an unhealthy relationship with food as a result of being shamed for their appetite. so that, coupled with their job that emphasizes appearances and first impressions, they eat smaller meals, seemingly healthier meals, safe meals. but when they're alone at the restaurant with the DCA boys, without having to worry about who sees them or how much they eat, they're able to enjoy their food openly and honour their body's cravings.

Headcanon: Lumine moves and fights like she's an artistic gymnast.

I think it wouldn't be far-fetched to imagine her with that body type (small stature with more muscular legs, among other things), and I think she has an innate grace in her movements, like she's always in a presentation.

Also, it would be cool, wouldn't it? Seeing Lumine dodge attacks like she's on a balance beam routine, or jump like she's doing it over a vault.

i think this is a really interesting comment for taylor to make considering she never actually had any personal experience with alec’s desire for revenge. iirc she was actually a little taken aback by the idea when aisha brought it up after he died, probably because she never fully understood his disaffectedness for what it was (an extreme trauma response). but over a year later this makes me feel like taylor sees aisha’s revenge against heartbreaker as solely alec’s, as opposed to something they were both invested in but that aisha had to take the burden of. the idea that aisha is “acting like regent” when she talks about revenge and not acting like herself i think is inaccurate, it’s just not a stance i would have expected from taylor necessarily. ig she really internalized aisha saying that he did want revenge, even though aisha is the one who did the revenging? did alec ever express that desire in front of taylor? if he did, i forgor ^_^;

i could go into how tumblr promotes OCD tendencies for hours but i'll address one thing: the ethics of media consumption. for some, pirating media by problematic creators and being critical of the source material is not enough.

almost as if the source itself will lead to moral decay by merit of its problematic elements or creators, consuming verboten media is said to be a reflection of the consumer's morality. in psychology, we call this emotional contamination--a symptom typically associated with OCD.

this is often reflected in "X fans DNI". i don't know about you, but the idea that someone can be labeled as complicit in violence and therefore untouchable simply for engaging with certain media in a critical manner without supporting the creators is a tad frightening.
