How would the bots react if one of the kids had braces and/or a herbst appliance? I have both growing up and hated those godforsaken dental torture devices and the herbst appliance had a creeping sound whenever I moved my mouth that made me both sound and look like the terminator lol 😂

Oh boy, I had braces, a tongue guard, AND bands for a while. I have felt the wrath of the dentist. RIP my screwed up jaw. That said, I bet the bots would react like this:

Jack came in with braces one day, and no one noticed at first. He had them put on over the weekend and so his friends had already gotten over the novelty of it all. Miko had her fun mocking him the first few days and frankly Rafael didn't care all that much. But the team? Once they figured it out, they had some thoughts on the matter.

Bumblebee was the first to notice Jack's new mouth addition when the boy started struggling to speak around his braces, the addition to his life being new and unusual still. Bumblebee pointed it out in a panic and before long, the team had gathered around to observe Jack's new augment. Each had their own thoughts upon learning what it was meant to do.

Ratchet couldn't help but find it fascinating. He personally came to the conclusion that all humans could use the metal bands if the things kept their mouth bones from FALLING OUT. Bumblebee for his part was thrilled that humans could get metal augments. It gave him hope that perhaps humanity could be technologically evolved enough to one day increase their lifespans. Bulkhead was more impressed than anything else since to his knowledge, the squishies didn't tend to take to metal all that well. Wheeljack was more interested in trying to find a way to weaponize the braces, perhaps by giving fanged metal caps to Jack or something of the sort.

Ultra Magnus was unimpressed and more worried about the metal rusting since humans have a lot of fluid in their mouths. He had exactly zero interest in having to write a report for Jack's cause of death, especially if that cause happened to be from infection. Smokescreen found the metal braces impressive and wanted to mess with them more than learning their practical use. Arcee was more concerned about how Jack even got the braces ON to care about much else. Optimus shared her thoughts and became rather intrigued and horrified upon learning about the process of braces and what they do to the human mouth bones.

Would it be okay if I order a Bot Buddy to have its alt mode be a drone? The kind that you control and send flying to take photos and videos.

A neutral Buddy who is a little shy and a little too honest and direct that she can't tell if someone said something as a joke and if they really meant it.

I would like Optimus, Ratchet, Arcee and Smokescreen to meet her.

Buddy just wanted to mind their own business, that was all.

They didn’t want anything to do with the destruction of war.

They rather just take pictures and videos of curious looking organic life on this planet.

That led Buddy to acquire their alt mode from a local tech shop.

They loved this little alt mode.

Not only could they take pictures in the daytime and nighttime, but they could also go into populated places and most people don’t even bat an eye.

Buddy likes showing off their works to the passing bots they come across.

Team that tries to persuade Buddy to join the team

These bots try to get the little drone to join them. They could be of great use and an addition to the team. Of course, it’s not just because of their alt mode, but a part of it does lie in their stealth. Whenever Buddy does show up, they usually have a video or picture they like to share with them. They are patient enough to see a few here and there. They will ask Buddy multiple times if they want to join. Some do back off after a couple of attempts, while others just continue to ask. They believe that one way or another they are going to wear them down.

Team that gets a bit annoyed with Buddy’s brutal honesty

These bots have a tolerance level that is constantly put to the test whenever Buddy is around. Buddy’s brutally honest talks are sometimes refreshing in certain situations, other times however, are just plain rude. Whether Buddy knows or not, they don’t know. They have a daily limit of pictures and video Buddy can show them before it starts to get annoying. They will pester the drone about joining the team for the advantage but will stop after a while.

These bots find it fun to hang out with someone who isn’t so wound up about the war. Sure, war is a big factor in everything, but at least they have a hobby. Honestly seeing their videos and photos can make these bots day or entire week depending on the situation. In return these bots will try and spend more time with the little drone, maybe even take a couple of pictures themselves. They do want the drone to join but they will not enforce it too much.

TFP. Ratchet needs a break from his Synth-En project, so Bumblebee takes it upon himself to make it happen. The Team is amused, Ratchet is not, and Bumblebee pays with a scratched paint and a dent. Oneshot. Warning we have an angry Ratchet.

I honestly love this story so much. It's incredibly creative and funny! :3 I love how cheeky and mischievous Bee is. I love how helpless everybody else is to stop his shenagigans. I love that, yeah, he's playing a prank and it's infuriating to Ratchet in the moment, but in the end it's not actually malicious. No one is hurt, it can be reverted easily and Ratchet recharges for a bit.

On another note: this fic is basically canon to me.

Bumblebee's voice box is malfunctioning again, and he joins Ratchet and Raf for a perfectly timed lesson on Cybertronian grammar.

This fic just hits all of my boxes: Ratchet, Bumblebee and an super interesting exploration of Cybertronian languages/linguistics/grammar. It's absolutely amazing! :3

A rewrite of the season 3 episode “Minus One”, in which the Autobots’ interrogation of Soundwave goes horribly wrong.

I almost wish that this was canon. It's such an interesting way to explore how Minus One could have gone differently. It's also a super interesting angle at a "Tyger Pax fic". I also honestly love the relationships between Ratchet, Optimus and Bumblebee in this fic so much.

And, maybe most impressively, it made me sympathetise with Smokescreen a little bit more than I did before. I still don't really vibe with him, but I feel like I understand him a little bit better now.

TF:Prime, Aligned. Pre Earth. After a surprise Decepticon attack near the Well of AllSparks, Ratchet manages to save a sparkling from near death... or was it the other way around? Origin fic. Rated for mild violence.

Aaaahhh. I don't know how to even describe this fic but I honestly love it so, so much. Bee's immediate attachment to Ratchet is honestly so, so sweet. How Ratchet gets attached to Bee against his will. Bee's sparkling adventures are just absolutely amazing. He's got half the Autbot force exhausted with his shenanigans within the first three days without even trying to. And at the same time he's got all of them wrapped around his little finger. It's honestly one of the best portrayals of Bee I've ever read. I can only aspire to one day write such an adorable, fun and mischievous version of Bee. :3 Also: the background War politics/plot. And, Jazz is in it and he is absolutely glorious.

Honestly can't recommend this enough. <3

Dadchet Fics

Because, for some reason childhood trauma, grumpy old medic dad having a soft spot for his little yellow robot is my greatest weakness.

When they say you see your children before you die, it isn't always the good memories. ~ Ratchet seems to walk through the events leading to his deepest regret as a recon mission goes up in smoke.

Featuring lots of incredibly sweet vignettes of Bee's and Ratchet's relationship leading up to Tyger Pax. Sparkling Bee is absolutely adorable and Ratchet has a soft spot for him that is bigger than Cybertron itself. It's incredibly sweet. There is also some incredibly heart-warming Optiratch in there. ^^ It's a bit bittersweet but in the best of ways. :3

Autobots, Pass Out! by @yamiquietshadowflo (Quiet_Shadow on AO3)

Ratchet is far too busy and stressed to just drop everything he's doing and go to sleep, even Optimus gives him his best 'So-Disappointed-In-You Look'. Recharge? Who needs that when there is so much to fret about? (Un)Fortunately for the medic, Optimus isn't the type of mech who give up and he's not above for the most underhanded, sneaky tactic at his disposition: Sending in Bumblebee and Raf.

Adorable. Funny. Sweet. :3 I love that Ratchet knows exactly what Bee and Raf are doing, but is absolutely helpless to it anyways. Absolutely adore that it is implied that, now that this has happened once, Bee will keep making it happen. They deserve their cuddles. Optimus is absolutely hilarious, too. :D

I have a soft spot for Bee and Ratchet. Sometimes you just gotta hold your little Bee. It's short and cute. I have nothing else to say.

Honestly, this is just utterly adorable. 10/10. Could read it every five minutes. I should probably read it every five minutes.

He’d made up his mind the moment they found out that the scout’s T-Cog was missing. There was nothing he wouldn’t do to fix Bee.

Now this. Whenever I read this story, I just want to shake some sense into Ratchet because he ist just infuriatingly reckless. Because, yeah, he should definitely not have operated on himself and then not told anyone. At the same time, however, I absolutely get why he is doing it. That's his baby boy who's hurting, after all, and there's all that old medic guilt and self-consciousness and love for Bee that drives him to his decision. In the end I'd probably be too much of a sap to wrench him before hugging him. Even if he'd deserve it for endangering himself like that.

I also just love Bee and Ratchet's interaction at the end of the story. That just oozes their love for another. :3

Now go and read at least one of these fics, they are all absolutely amazing.

Bots and Cons Handwriting

Optimus:

-Can write insanely neatly, and in literally ANY font

-Everything he writes looks like it came straight from Google Docs

-He can perfectly recreate Comic Sans, much to the children's amusement

-Handwriting KING

-He's too powerful

Arcee:

-Her handwriting is gorgeous

-She writes very neatly, definitely in cursive

-Everything she writes looks like a diary from the Victorian era

-Majestic✨✨✨✨

Ratchet:

-Cursive, but MESSY cursive

-Like, REALLY messy cursive. What is he even writing? Who knows? It's a mystery.

-You know, cuz, like, that's how a pharmacist's prescriptions look, and he's a medic. Lol

Bumblebee:

-His handwriting is so cute😭

-Basically Comic Sans

-Not PERFECT Comic Sans like Optimus, but just bubbly and adorable

-Having legible handwriting is something he practices a lot, since his voice box is broken. Writing is a nice way to express himself if need be.

And Bumblebee buzzes in agreement.

Ratchet just rolls his eyes, like "ugh." Because he can't argue. HIS handwriting is gibberish, too.

-Opposite of Smokescreen...Ultra Magnus's handwriting is TINY!

-Seriously, where is it? You need a microscope.

-Only the humans can read it, because it's so small. And even THEY have to squint

-It's also PERFECT. His handwriting is very neat

Wheeljack:

-He's like, a graphic design CHAMPION

-He learned handwriting from Miko, so he loves big bubble letters. He decorates them with cool patterns, like flames, and lightning bolts

-He'd use some kind of calligraphy pen with very dark, splattery ink, or, like, whatever the Cybertronian version of a quill is.

Soundwave:

-Handwriting? What's that?

-He probably uses his internal computer to make documents, and prints them

-And when he prints things, they probably slide out of his neck. Terrifying. So he prints things to freak Starscream out

-It's beautiful

-If Soundwave was FORCED to handwrite, he'd do it in computer code, or morse code, or something weird like that. Everyone would be baffled trying to understand it.

Airachnid:

-Very splattery

-But that's what happens when you use energon and human blood as ink.

Shockwave:

Do you have any stupid silly Palpatine headcanons? My favorite is that he is terrible at talking about art. #1 threat to his political career. He had a ghostwriter for his “Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise” speech.

Oh god yeah. The way he switched his naboo aesthetic out for plain black robes and austere sith shit the minute he was emperor is so telling. Palpatine hates art, and he especially hates having to pretend to care and know about art.

This isn't exactly a headcanon, but you know that one page about Dex feeding him a rotten meatloaf one time? And he just had to choke it down and pretend it was great because it was a political occasion? I do not understand the mechanics of how this came to occur, but it is my number one most understandable palpatine moment. it justifies every atrocity. if someone fed me rotten meatloaf on purpose and i had to smile and choke it down, i would spend the next decade wanting to skin them alive.

In general, I like to think that this is what palpatine's life was like. I like to think that he hated every second, pretty much. He endured a lifetime of politics and over a decade of the chancelloship, and he never even managed to have fun. It was all staked on the idea that it would be worth it to be emperor. This is what made him nuts. This is what made his brain want to kill him with knives. He loathed it. He woke up every morning and convinced himself that only emperorship and total power would make all of this worth it.

….idk if this is a hard headcanon, but it's a fun one.

Anyway Dex probably saw the writing on the wall when the former chancellor he had once pranked started cackling and electrocuting people for being annoying, and got himself well out the way.

On a more palpakin-y kind of note, i like to think there were some wink wink nudge nudge comments about anakin, hotshot 20-something general, being seen around him a lot. I don't think Palpatine liked this either. I don't think he liked people assuming he was just a sleazy old man, when his real interest in anakin was so much more interesting and mystical. Alas, it was a good enough smokescreen, so he bit his tongue and let the rumor go. He had to let so many things go, for so long. His brain is ten thousand knives stabbing him every day.

The Bots finding out their music loving human friend working together with Raf and utilizes loud and bass heavy music to give Soundwave and the Cons a massive and disorienting helm-ache, all while having a solo rave party as it all happen?

I did all the bots at least I hope I didn’t forget anyone. I did forget about the party part though, sorry

•Jackie was actually helping you and Raf with your little project, because when you asked Ratchet if he wanted in on your “super weapon project” he wasn’t really interested

•Mostly because he thought you weren’t serious about it and you were building a potato gun or something

•Which would be a pretty fun thing to shoot the decepticons with tbh

•When Ratchet sees the three of you working on some kind of a device, he realizes you weren’t kidding

•Optimus doesn’t really encourage weapons experiments either and but you and Jackie assure him it’s not going to blow up

•While he does believe you, he still has a feeling this isn’t going to end well

•And it doesn’t, but the device does catch on fire and almost burns down the table it’s on too

•But it’s okay, because Jackie starts stomping on it and the fire goes out

•Of course then you have to start over

•When the so called super weapon is ready it pretty much looks like a big speaker

•And the smaller ones look pretty innocuous as well

•The smaller ones pretty much work like flash bangs, but it’s a big enough effect to be effective towards the cons

•Arcee is pretty skeptical about them actually working, and while she doesn’t mind Jackie or the other bots using them, she makes damn sure you and the trouble trio keep your hands off them

•They do end up being pretty effective though, but Arcee still doesn’t think humans should handle them, because if one of the flashbang things goes off you’d blind yourself

•Bulk is excited to try them out, because Wheeljack’s weapons are usually top notch

•Magnus thinks those things you built would not pass inspection and shouldn’t be used, since they could cause harm to the team as well

•The noise canon pretty much becomes Smokescreen’s favorite toy, because it’s seriously cool and very useful

•Bee and him tend to argue over who gets to use it, but then Arcee comes and takes it or herself, telling them if they can’t come to an agreement, she’ll use it

•The noise canon and the so called flashbangs cause a lot of mayhem and a serious helm ache for the cons

Dungeons, Dragons, and Transformers: A Headcanon Post (Transformers Prime Edition)

Sup. First post for this fandom and coming out swingin'.

Basically, upon learning about Dungeons and Dragons, would they play, and how would they play?

I may come back and do more of these for other continuities. Anyways, let's go. 😎

D&D Lingo:

DM: Dungeon Master. The person who runs the game. Dungeon Master is a term specifically associated with D&D. Other TTRPGs tend to use the term GM, or Game Master. PC: Player Character. The character that a Player is using for the game. NPC: Non-Player Character. Tends to be characters the DM portrays, such as shopkeepers and quest givers. TTRPG: TableTop Role Playing Game. Refers to the entire genre of role playing game that D&D belongs to. SRD: System Reference Document. The core rulebook for Dungeons and Dragons.

Autobots:

Optimus Prime: He would not play, but may watch from time to time. He would be especially intrigued after learning the history of Tabletop Role Playing Games; how the genre evolved from roleplay scenarios used to train tacticians in the military. If he ever decided to play (post-war, most likely) he would make one of the greatest DMs of All Time. As a Player, however, he would have a tendency to have his Character lead the other PCs like he does with the Autobots, which may create conflict.

Ratchet: Has no interest at all. That is, until he hears someone playing a Cleric/Paladin/Druid going, "Guys!! I can't HEAL YOU if you are ALL THE WAY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MAP you SUICIDAL FUCKS!!" (AKA: The rage every gamer feels when playing a healer.) At which point Ratchet briefly becomes highly invested, going, "Listen to your HEALER!" and trying his best to offer strategies. Later, he still insists these games do not interest him in the slightest.

Arcee: At first, she's cool with just watching. Not all that interested otherwise. However, if she hears a particularly good campaign or module being planned later down the road, she may try it out as a Player. She would try playing, but would never DM.

Bumblebee: He is IMMEDIATELY down to play. He would get SO into it and get Really Good Really Fast. His DMing is alright (I think he'd want to try DMing upon having his voice back) but he is better as, and has much more fun as, a Player.

Bulkhead: He's not as into it as Bumblebee, but he still has fun playing! He gets flustered whenever a PC tries seducing someone. He wouldn't want to DM though; he's perfectly happy as a Player.

Smokescreen: Just like Bumblebee, he is IMMEDIATELY into it. He doesn't learn it as fast, but that doesn't mean he won't eventually! He tries to DM, but kinda flops at it. His friends try to spare his feelings but... it's not very easy and he ends up thinking he did better than he actually did. He's better as a Player for sure.

Wheeljack: Of COURSE he will play. He is probably one of the Players who has their Characters seduce their way out of (or into) problems. He would probably come up with, and DM, a wacky module or two. Shit would be CRAZY.

Ultra Magnus: He wouldn't be interested, and you wouldn't want to get him interested either. He is a Rules Lawyer from HELL. If he participates, he will have had the SRD and every rulebook already memorized and will correct every last little detail. Do Not Play a TTRPG With Ultra Magnus.

Decepticons:

Megatron: At first he would not be interested. However, he may feel intrigued enough upon learning more about the game to at least observe once. If he ever plays, he will either demand the DM not hold back, or he will come up with a campaign or module himself that is so challenging that it can, and will, make Players cry.

Soundwave: No shit he'd play, so long as it didn't interfere with Decepticon duties. He'd be damn good at it, too, and fun to play with. He makes a great Player and great DM. Soundwave is, indeed, Superior.

Starscream: He says he has no interest. He will eavesdrop on games anyways and constantly critique everyone. He MIGHT be willing to play if you imply that he's not playing because he can't do any better, but really, would you want Starscream in your D&D party?

Knock Out: He watches games, and may join in on a few if they interest him. He is a passionate Player or Spectator, offering colorful commentary.

Breakdown: He is more reserved than Knock Out, but may also watch. He would only play if Knock Out is playing. Otherwise, he doesn't have much interest.

Shockwave: He has no interest. He won't even watch.

Airachnid: She would like to watch, and would like playing, too. She's actually pretty good at it. Should she try her hand at DMing, she wouldn't be terrible by any means, but BOY is she harsh with the puzzles and traps. She definitely gets a kick out of getting the Characters tied up or otherwise trapped somewhere. It's a little weird.

Predaking: He has no initial interest. Upon hearing more about the game, he may observe. He might get interested enough to try playing? If he does, he would also demand the DM not hold back. (You may want to hold back anyways, though. Things tend to Get On Fire when Predaking gets frustrated.)

The Insecticons: If they have any interest at all, they'd watch one or two games, tops. Otherwise, nada.

The Vehicons: They ABSOLUTELY have D&D nights upon learning about the game. Of course, they are basically cannon fodder, so campaigns may fizzle out after a battle (or when Megatron gets pissed, or when Knock Out or Shockwave need lab rats, or...)

I always want to wholeheartedly agree with the "create what you want, just label it" argument. I really want to. Right up until people defend unexamined bigotry. For example, I once ran into a story where Martha Jones was actually about to fail out of medical school when she met The Doctor, because she was "incapable" of learning human anatomy and medicine, and despite "bribing her teachers". I wrote in my journal that I thought the story was racist, in a public post, and people scolded me for being censorious and not letting people "have fun". (This was back when LJ was viable.) I have a pile of other experiences like that. I would never agree with the antis that Someone (aka them) should prevent people from writing whatever, but I feel like to completely agree with "create what you want, no limits, nothing matters but creating," I have to agree that a fan of color has no right to be hurt by a story that turns an intelligent Black woman into a cheat and an idiot, even in that fan's own space. What do you think?

You have every right to feel offended or hurt by a story. But your hurt and offense does not negate someone else's ability to create. Nor does it dictate that you can tell them what they can and cannot create.

How do you know the author wasn't a person of color themselves? How do you know they weren't writing the story based on their own emotions, difficulties or experiences? Is painting a person of color as 'unintelligent' a common theme in their works or was it just the plot device of this specific story? If Martha Jones was Asian or Indian or Caucasian, would you have still been offended on her behalf that an intelligent woman/intelligent woman of color was being turned into 'an idiot'?

These are questions we have to ask ourselves when trying to determine if a work was genuinely created with the intent of being harmful. Because individually not liking or being hurt by the content's of a story is not a good enough reason to advocate against it.

The 911 fandom, for example, saw a lot of it with Eddie Diaz. People were so entrenched in fandom virtue signalling that pretty much any depiction of Eddie Diaz in fanfiction was getting bitched about as 'out of character' or 'racist' including works written by actual people of color. It got to the point where for quite a while fanfiction production within the 911 fandom dropped way down because people were too annoyed with or upset by the constant accusations no matter what was being written.

And I know it probably sounds like I'm just smokescreening for racism or excusing it. but I can promise you, I've blocked and reported authors and fandom creators before for being blatantly racist in their content. But fanfiction and literature become trickier because the purpose of stories is not to be palatable or feel-good. Stories do not have to be pleasant. Fanfiction does not have to conform to the source material.

Describing someone as "incapable" is typically a turn of phrase and has nothing to do with trying to allocate unintelligence to a specific type of person. Plenty of people would be classed as "incapable" of learning medicine because its a hard fucking thing to learn. You need to dedicate more or less five-ten years of your life to studying it before you even really get anywhere with actually practising it.

If you're someone who's easily distracted or has trouble remembering things and vice versa, you're unlikely to go into a career field that especially demands these things of you.

I imagine in any case her failing out of medical school was likely the plot point that leads her to going off with The Doctor. Which is a simple narrative and not a case of "unexamined bigotry." Its just as likely that if the author had had Martha Jones simply give up her aspirations and career to follow The Doctor, someone else would've been offended by the trope of a (black) woman giving up everything for a (white) man and deemed the story sexist or racist. Possibly both.

When analysing literature you have to be critical of if something is offending you personally or if it was intended to offend people of color as a whole. If the answer is only the former, then its a situation where you just have to recognise the work is not for you and move along.

Honestly what annoys me more about the fandom's reaction to Chaomix is that the main talking points haven't changed. Only the context around them did. It's still "2010 sonic bad" and "sega bad" except now it comes with an addendum of "they bad because they tried to appeal to those reviewers and journos". Which sucks because it would be a legit point on it's own but it's being used as a smokescreen for some to still hate on the games while presenting it like they are defending them.

I will bet everything I have that in a decade the "Meta Era" will gain new appreciation exactly the same way as the "Dark Age".

The Dark Age used to be despised for multiple reasons. It had some objectively flawed games back to back, for sure, but part of the backlash was also due to the Classic fans being the majority of the fandom, being very unhappy with the direction of the franchise. A lot of nowadays beloved Sonic games used to be laughingstocks.

Sonic Heroes? A janky repetitive mess that did not follow up to the masterpiece that was SA2 because it was too kiddy, and we're so tired of Sonic's Shitty Friends.

Shadow the Hedgehog? Not only it was OW THE EDGE, but it was legitimately seen as an affront to everything Sonic stood for, shilling a creator's pet that had long overstayed its welcome.

Sonic '06? One of the worst games of all time. Nearly killed the franchise, and maybe it should have. Buggy and rushed in a way that was unacceptable for an anniversary game and the next gen game. A shitty ass story full of holes with damsels in distress that make out with animal corpses.

Sonic Unleashed? The Werehog was fucking stupid and once again spitting on everything Sonic stood for, and we're so tired of cinematic stories! (yes the complaint that the intro was too long was a real complaint)

Sonic and the Black Knight? Sonic with a sword was fucking stupid. No one cared about the story.

The beginning of the Meta Era was exactly what fans wanted back then. Colors was seen as Sonic's comeback for things like not having an intro cutscene, having a "saturday morning cartoon" story with only Sonic and Tails and none of the Shitty Friends, having Eggman as the final boss instead of yet another monster, and sticking only with the "good" parts of Unleashed. Read its Funny page on TvTropes, and you'll find many of the jokes that nowadays are used as proof that Pontaff were hacks and Flynn was so real for making fun of them both in IDW and in Frontiers. It was seen as Sonic's glorious return because finally, at long last, Sonic was going back to his Classic roots.

But now? Now those same Classic fans grew older and even more disillusioned with the franchise, so they left, and they were replaced by the Adventure fans, now old enough to be heard. Now Heroes is a cute game, with much better level design than shitty games like Forces. ShTH is secretly deeper than people gave it credit for, and Shadow is cool again, and at least characters do stuff, unlike in Forces. Sonic '06 was full of ambition, unlike Forces where they didn't even try. Sonic Unleashed can pretty much compete with SA2 as a masterpiece. SatBK has a wonderful story that truly gets Sonic, unlike Forces where everyone is stupid and lame.

See a pattern?

Hell, even things like Eggman as a final boss is getting backlash now. I've seen people praising Frontiers' The End because of this. Eggman as the final villain got stale again. These are the Adventure fans who grew up with Eggman getting swatted away or teaming up with Sonic, and liking it.

(I'm an Adventure fan too, but funnily enough, Colors was the first game where I ever liked Eggman precisely for keeping him as the main threat lol)

It's a cycle. The 2010s were the era of "the 2000s sucked, we want to go back to the '90s when Sonic used to be good". The 2020s will be, and already are, the era of "the 2010s sucked, we want to go back to the 2000s when Sonic used to be good". I am eagerly waiting for the videos named "Sonic Forces was not that bad, you guys were just mean". It will come. Just like '06 used to be reviled and mocked to death and now it has gained respect, the same will happen to Forces. Just like Forces is now seen as "unserious" and apologetic, the same will happen with Frontiers and its "I'm sorry we sucked, we'll do better next time" tone. Just like Pontaff were seen as a breath of fresh air and now they are seen as the people who ruined Sonic, the same will happen to Flynn. You'll see.

- I love the differences in writing between blue and sunstreaker, how blue is talkative and energetic but can be seen as too much, while sunny is very reserved, and creative but incredibly cocky

- sunstreaker being more quiet and blue being more talkative complement each other so so well. blue doesn’t have to be scared he’s gonna overwhelm sunny (and if he does he trusts sunny to tell him) and sunny isn’t shooed aside in conversations because he only talks when he feels what is he says is important.

- 100% believe tho in terms of couples they would be the most obnoxiously in ur face couple on the ark, pda all the way baby. sunstreaker wouldn’t really give a shit what people think and bluestreak is really just vibing and happy to be around him

u name it, hugs, cuddling, little pecks throughout the day, u cannot get away from the pda.

- Sunstreaker got a shovel talk from prowl and smokescreen (mostly prowl and jazz made fun of him afterwards for being so protective)

bluestreak did not, however, get one from sideswipe because it is constantly implied to everyone that if one twin is picked on the other is right around the corner ready to start throwing elbows

- sideswipe and smokescreen were definitely on the side making bets on if they would get together

It disrespected TFP on every level and for that it has my eternal hatred and contempt. The humans were annoying, and I HATED how many interesting plot threads there were that were either done poorly or with so little tact that the writing team should have just scrapped it. The designs are tolerable, but I hate how canon TFP characters lost so much of their individuality in their designs (coughtheopticscough). Smokescreen is fricking GONE, which bothers me more than I care to admit. We see the rest of the team enough to be reasonable, but they all appear in ways that don't really make me happy.

Ratchet was done well enough in my opinion. I like his RID design. It suites him. Optimus's design can go die in a hole, they brutalized that mech. Same with Jazz. Frag those stupid shoulder pads.

Grimlock is fun, I appreciate Sideswipe, although his helm hair thingies I think need a redesign to make sense in relation to his alt mode. Strongarm was HORRIBLY underutilized and I hardly saw any character growth in her. Drift and his crew were interesting, but similarly not given much room to grow. I really liked Windblade for the most part, especially the episode where she tries to baby Optimus and comes out having relearned that Op is still a PRIME with MILLIONS OF YEARS OF WAR EXPERIENCE.

The Primes who've done nothing but sit on their rears had NO RIGHT to belittle Optimus at every turn. Nor did the show have the right to make him an idiot for the sake of making Bee look smarter. As @nova--spark has pointed out, the personality Bee got in the show matches Smokescreen better. Bumblebee wouldn't have SUCKED so much at the whole leadership shtick. What happened to all that skill shown in the movie huh? HUH WRITING TEAM????!??!?!

While I am on this train. OPTIMUS DIED SO GOSH DARN LEAVE HIM ALONE!!! He should have stayed deceased, or if they REALLY needed him back, he should have either returned as an Civi or came back with actual issues. Like dang hear me out mate.

Optimus is forcefully returned to life, beats the Fallen with his borrowed power, but then has to actually deal with the consequences of essentially being a walking bomb for a while. Make him start losing plating, make his frame HURT, make him slim down again into the TFP base design. Just, give him a reason to have to sit back and RECOVER. Not this whole half hearted limping around garbage. To add to that, don't baby the mech. Let him stay at base and fulfill the role Ratchet did in TFP. Let him use his knowledge to teach and offer wisdom, plan battles and locate enemies. For Primus's sake he could have gone undercover on Cybertron or something if they really needed him to go be useless elsewhere.

THEY COULD HAVE EVEN HAD AN ARC WITH HIM GIVING THE TEAM A WAKEUP CALL!!! SIdeswipe has no respect for the mission, Grimlock is a fool, Strongarm is too snarky, and Bee in this seems to have largely forgotten about the seriousness except for during key moments. They could have made Optimus a minor antagonist, forcing the team to follow wartime standards since they laid down this plot thread regarding issues between leadership styles and Optimus trying to take control of the operation more than once.

I would have paid money to see Optimus's wartime mentality show itself in the best and worst ways through how he worked with this group of non war vets on a Decepticon capture mission. Maybe even have him use lethal force once or twice, or at least hint at it so that people can be reminded that he is a mech who went to war, killed countless bots, and both drove their people to and saved their people from extinction.

Bee could have had to teach Optimus to calm down. He could have helped eased his leader out of his wartime mindset. Or following that whole council running Cybertron route, Optimus could have had his moment of being very much right when he points out WHY he fought at all and gestures towards the new council. There was SO MUCH potential in this show, so many good threads and interesting Decepticon character that could have given so much depth to the war and the aligned continuity as a whole, but they were almost ALL ignored.

To put things simply, I would rather a group of fanfic writers put RID together than whoever the writing team was. They could have made a coherent story with deep characters that actually address the ramifications of millions of years of war and lingering functionalist mindsets. They would have done the lore and the world justice even if there were no main characters popping up.

I think RID has so much potential, but that almost all of it went right down the toilet due to either the higher ups sticking their noses where they don't belong or because the writing team couldn't go two minutes without retconning or otherwise destroying established everything.

Haii if possible I would like to request any of the autobots or who ever you feeling- finding a feral child in the wilderness and they decide to keep it and it raise for themselves, like they were in the forest finding supplies/for whatever reason And they just see this feral looking child with a pack of mutts and it's not acting normal like its running on all fours barking, growling etc. And the bots are like ermmm that's definitely not normal we should return it to the humans or something they try catching it they struggle in doing so when they finally do. I would like to think they attach themselves to that said child and r like mmmmm nvm I'm raising this thing instead. Perhaps the child grows up and accurately mimics the bots vocal ranges n stuff possibly copying said attributes from the bots. Idk fun concept and idea I hope u didn't mind my rambling

(Sometimes a family can be a group of giant robot war criminals, 3 kids, and a feral gremlin of a kid they plucked out of the forest. )

Optimus would be the one to firmly state that they won't be keeping the child they found out in the forest, and that they'll only watch after the child long enough for Fowler to come over and pick the kid up. Since he's pretty busy most of the time, he takes the longest to warm up because he doesn't actually get much time to spend around them. But when he does get the time, he'll sometimes be the one that reads them bedtime stories. The timbre of his voice can sound pretty soothing at times, so he's pretty good at lulling them to sleep.

Magnus agrees with Optimus. No-one on this team is qualified to be a human parent nor do they have any experience, so he's firmly against keeping the kid at first. He doesn't even consider the possibility that he's going to grow attached to them, he just keeps thinking about how loud, messy, and unruly they are, and little does he know that he begins to find their antics even the slightest bit amusing until it's too late. When he grows attached to them—and he'll never admit it—he often takes them out for walks to tire them out so they won't be as loud or energetic back at base. And more often than not, Magnus frequently complains about how the kid keeps running off. Miko then introduces him to child leashes. And now everyone's joking about "it's your turn to go walk the kid."

Smokescreen would honestly find the kid's behavior funny at first—admittedly a bit weird, but still funny. He'd ask Raf if this was how humans acted when they first roamed the Earth. He'd try to get the kid to stand up and walk around on 2 legs, but when communicating with them is an extremely difficult task already, you can guess how well that turned out. But when he finds out they can mimic cybertronian words pretty well, he's immediately repeating words to them to try and get them to repeat it. It's like he's got his own talking parrot, but instead it's a human.

I headcannon that sparklings are tiny enough for humans to hold their entire bodies and look like loaf blobs and make beeping sounds

I hope this is good, because I'm gonna be totally honest: I know next to nothing about sparklings. I know they're pretty much baby Cybertronians, but that's about it. Are they canon? Idk but here goes nothing😂

TFP Autobots Reaction to Sparklings in an Escape Pod

Optimus Prime:

-Dad mode activated

"As Autobots, it is our duty to protect any life on this planet. Especially small fragile life, be it humans, or sparklings."

-He'd assign the other Bots tasks to look after them whenever he can't do it himself. In fact, he lets the humans care for them as well

Miko: "We have to take care of Cybertronian babies instead of going on missions? Laaame!"

Jack: "Well, Miko, maybe this is how the Bots always feel having to constantly look after YOU."

Miko: "Phht. Rude."

Ratchet:

-Oh boy, he's NOT happy

-He'd mutter to himself:

"Oh, joy. Another small, loud creature to distract me from work. How have I managed to get reduced to the team babysitter?"

-He'd have a harder time connecting with the sparklings than with the children, because at least the human kids can TALK.

-In fact, having the sparklings around might bring Ratchet closer to the humans, since he's on the same boat as them, not wanting the responsibility of caring for sparklings

-He isn't a MONSTER, though. Of COURSE he grows to love the sparklings eventually. He's a softy, deep down

Arcee:

-Where IS Arcee, anyway? Nobody's seen her much since Optimus assigned Team Prime tasks involving caring for the sparklings. She said: "I'm going for a drive" and peaced out.

-In short, Arcee is having NONE of this

-Babysitting? No thank you.

-She leaves the MOMENT anyone asks her to feed the sparklings some energon. And she takes Jack with her. Byeeeeeee.

Bulkhead:

"Uhhh...Are we gonna have to take care of them?"

-What a silly guy. He's doing his best.

-He has NO clue what he's doing, though. Like he said, on Cybertron, he was a laborer. He's never cared for a sparkling in his life

-Not to mention Miko's judging him harshly for even trying😂

-Bulkhead dragged him along to help care for the sparklings, but he's taking Miko's side. He isn't feeling it.

"If you want me to go soft, you've got another thing comin'."

-Once the sparklings are of age, he'll gladly teach them to be Wreckers

-But until then, he'll try to explain to them how grenades work whenever Bulkhead isn't looking. They don't understand what he's saying, of course, because they're only sparklings, but you've gotta start them young.

Ultra Magnus:

-He's kinda like a supervisor

-He knows exactly what the sparklings need, and when, but whatever the need is, he isn't going to attend to it himself

-He mainly dishes out orders and tells everyone else what to do.

-He doesn't mean to be rude. He's just used to being a commander. During the war, sparklings had to be protected from explosions and whatnot, so he saw to it that soldiers under his command took care of them.

-If anyone could convince Arcee to come back though, it's him, so at least there's that

Smokescreen:

-Chaotic fun uncle energy

-You'd have to keep an eye on Smokescreen at ALL TIMES, because, when the sparklings are under HIS watch, it's pure anarchy

-He'd probably let them drink engex (Cybertronian version of alcohol) and teach them how to conduct pranks on Ultra Magnus

-He's a "no rules" guardian

-Really, Team Prime has to babysit HIM more than the sparklings

I'm gonna use this ask as my gateway to explain how I think Cybertronian reproduction works (because I love infodumping)

Infodump starts under cut

To start, I acknowledge that technically Cybertronian reproduction is very bland and not discussed much in the continuities because, let's face the facts for a sec.

Hasbro wants to sell toys to kids

Now, with that in mind, we aren't going to ignore the comics or continuity cannon explanations for how they reproduce. From my limited research the most general acceptance is that the reproduce through budding like ameobas

Pretty horrific but the science behind it is that if a bot gets enough electricity shocked through it it's protoform splits an bam! You got another Cybertronian.

And yes yes I know about cold construction and hot spots, but this is apparently THE cannon way they reproduce.

Anyway

I theorize that this method of reproduction does work, but is extremely harsh on the bots body.

Hence where my idea comes into play.

Spark bonding between two bots is more than just a means to form connection, it also produces enough electricity to create what I call an after spark, in essence a new life source. This life source however doesn't have enough charge to grow on its own, so it will go to the bet best suited to "carry" the new lifeform (hence the term 'sparked').

It resides in the "carrier's" spark camber for a bit, gathering charge and growing in strength.

When a bot is "sparked" they will have this tiny "sparkling" for a while until it grows enough to move down to the gestation chamber that's where the "sticky" interface comes to play ;)

The naughty fun times provide the now developing sparkling with transfluid which in turn builds the protoform. It has to have a LOT of it to properly develope as it is using the energy from the charge built during the sticky interface to keep itself alive AND the fluid builds the body. Once the sparkling is ready it comes out of the bot just like in the movie Alien. Because it's science fiction okay?
