First time meeting the family - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 300
They’d decided, long before Sirius set foot in the small cottage on the outskirts of the little Muggle town, that they would be keeping their new relationship a secret. Lyall was strict and judgmental as it was, and Remus was, admittedly, terrified for his father to meet one of his friends. He didn’t want to add the pressure of something more to the mix.
So when Lyall, Hope, Remus, and Sirius sat down to dinner on the first night of Sirius’s visit during the summer between sixth and seventh year, every movement both boys made was tentative. Calculated. Remus couldn’t help but sweat a bit as he asked Sirius to pass the salt and Hope to pass the rolls.
And then, Lyall asked gruffly, “So, boys. Any girlfriends this year at school?”
It was Sirius who broke the awkward silence that followed.
“Not this year, Sir. Too busy with…other things, I think.”
A cool hand grabbed Remus’s under the table and squeezed.
Lyall, however, gave Sirius a shocked look. “Really? I mean, I’m not shocked about Remus, here. He’ll never marry, who would want to deal with his condition? But you seem like you’d have girls lining up!”
Remus felt himself blushing in embarrassment, wanting to sink into his chair. But before he could think of something remotely normal to say, Sirius replied again, hand gripping Remus’s, his voice cold as ice. “I can think of at least one person who would want to marry him, actually.”
And Remus’s heart, which had all-but disappeared from his chest, suddenly soared.
Later, as he helped his mother clear the plates, Hope gave him a gentle look. “I know you’re not ready to tell your father. But just so you know…I think you and Sirius are perfect together.”
And Remus couldn’t agree more.

First Time Meeting The Family - Jan. 3rd - word count: 303 - @wolfstarmicrofic
Remus had faced bigotry, monthly instances where he had been taken apart and put back together, and Professor Binns’s written essays- so why was he so nervous about going to the Potters’ over Christmas hols?
He stood at the fireplace of his house, debating whether or not to actually go. His hands fiddled with his tie nervously.
What if they judge me? he thought.
They wouldn’t, a voice that sounded suspiciously like Sirius’s rang through his head. Now go, Moony.
Remus scrunched his face up, already regretting his decision. “Potter Manor!” he said, grabbing a handful of Floo powder from the little pot nearby and dropping it in.
The next few seconds were a blur of warmth and spinning and fireplaces, until-
He landed in the Potter’s sitting room, where James, Sirius, and Peter were playing Exploding Snap.
Sirius looked up at where Remus was standing. “Moony!” he cheered. “You’re here!” He launched himself at his boyfriend.
“Sirius, hi,” he said as Sirius peppered his face with kisses. “How’re you holdin’ up?”
“Pretty well,” Sirius said, pulling away from Remus and smiling. “Wait,” he gasped after looking at Remus fully. “You’re wearing a suit!”
“Yep,” Remus said sheepishly. “Wanted to look good.”
“You always look good, Moons,” Sirius grinned.
“Okay, lovebirds, let's go,” James said, ushering them out of the room to talk to his parents.
Immediately, Remus began overthinking. What if they didn’t like him now that he’s dating Sirius? What if this was all some elaborate ploy?
Instead, Effie and Monty smiled at him warmly. “Remus, Sirius obviously loves you very much. Don’t hurt him, okay? Poor boy has been through enough,” Effie said.
“Yes, ma’am,” Remus agreed. “I won’t, I promise.”
“Awwe, Moony,” Sirius cooed. “Look at you, being respectful!”
“Shuddup, Padfoot,” Remus groaned, burying his face in his hands.

@wolfstarmicrofic — January 5 — First Date — word count: 520 (not how i originally planned on writing this but oh well)
➽──────────────❥
Sirius had been on loads of dates with plenty of girls, and they were easy. Throw on a leather jacket, smile, be flirty and charming, and maybe take them home later.
So, why was this so difficult? Remus had asked him out. On a date. That was the first thing that threw him off, as he was used to being the one to ask out others. But Remus had asked. The second thing that threw him off was that Remus asked him out. Remus John Lupin. He supposed it shouldn’t be a huge deal; after all, they hung out all the time, and sometimes it definitely felt more than just a friend hangout.
But this? This was an official date. And Sirius was losing it.
He hadn’t even gotten ready yet, and he was supposed to walk with Remus to The Three Broomsticks in an hour. He couldn’t seem to get his hair to frame his face just right or get his makeup to look good. He sat on his bed with a groan, running his hand through his wavy black hair. What was happening to him?
He grabbed a pack of cigarettes from his trunk and was about to light one when James came in.
“Oi mate, you alright?” James asked with a smirk. “You look like you’re having a crisis.”
Sirius cut him a glare. “Shut it, Prongs.” He sighed, looking down at his hands. “I think I’m nervous for this date with Moons.”
James gasped, the corners of his mouth twitching up slightly. “Nervous? You? The great Sirius Black—the Gryffindor Casanova—is nervous for a date.
Sirius just glared at him again, muttering under his breath. “This one is different, prick. I think I actually like Remus...”
“I know, mate,” James relented. “And he likes you too, you know that, right? He practically trips over his own feet when he sees you; it’s almost cute.”
Sirius can’t help the way his heart beat seems to speed up a bit at that. “I just... don’t want to mess this up. With everyone else, it’s been like a one and done, and I don’t want it to be like that with Remus. I actually want to be with him. I want this date to go perfectly.”
James shook his head in light exasperation. “Pads, no date goes perfectly. Just be yourself. Remus seems to like that guy.”
Sirius scoffs. “Yeah? Thanks, Prongs, I’ll keep that in mind.” He sighed. “Right... well, he’s probably waiting in the common room for me, I should go meet him.”
“Yeah, you should,” James gave his friend a reassuring smile. “It’s gonna go great, mate. Now, get out of here.”
Sirius grinned, taking a breath as he left the boys’ dorm room and trudged down the stairs to the Gryffindor common room.
Just as he thought, Remus was there, his nose buried in a book. He was wearing a dark brown sweater over a white button-up and black slacks. And he looked beautiful, as always. Sirius took another breath to calm his nerves before walking up to the boy, holding his hand out.
“Ready, Moons?”

Wolfstar hits harder if Remus isn't conventionally attractive.
Because while Sirius is still deep in denial and internalized homophobia, he's convincing himself like "it's okay, i'm not gay, anyone would want to kiss Remus once in a while, he's just objectively hot"
Except Remus is awkward and quiet when not around friends, he's too tall like he grew up too fast and doesn't know what to do with this extra height, his scars scare people away, he wears grandpa sweaters, drinks tea in his free time and goes to sleep at 9 pm, he can't flirt for the life of him (even though he could bc he's witty and sarcastic) because he has no self-confidence and it shows.
He's basically a loser (affectionate) and Sirius is like "it's okay, no need to panic, he's the sexiest man on earth but that's just an astute observation, no gay thoughts here"
and i just think that's funny as hell

first lie - @wolfstarmicrofic - word count: 235
"Moony?" Sirius asks, stirring from his spot on Remus's chest to fix his stunning gray-blue eyes on Remus's own. "How long have you liked me?"
The past few hours have felt like something out of a dream. After years of pining, Remus has somehow found himself curled up next to Sirius Black, free to trail his lips over porcelain skin and press their mouths together whenever he pleases. He's not sure what he's done to deserve this, but he wants to make sure Sirius knows that he cares about him more than anything. That he wants nothing more than to make him happy.
But he also is a bit embarrassed by the fact that he's been obsessed with Sirius for over three years, now. This is new, and he has not clue how long Sirius has felt anything for him, so he just smiles a bit and says vaguely, "A bit."
James's loud voice from outside of the curtain makes them both jump. "Lies! You've been utterly gone for him since Second Year, and you bloody well know it!"
Remus immediately turns bright red and looks to Sirius to see how the other boy has reacted.
But Sirius's smile, bright enough to light up the whole castle, makes Remus melt. "It was Fourth Year for me," he confesses, biting shyly at his bottom lip.
Overwhelmed with emotion, Remus can only pull him into another kiss.

First Lie - Jan. 4th - word count: 440 - @wolfstarmicrofic (tw: vulgar language)
Remus opened the door to his and Sirius’s shared flat.
Sirius was sitting on the living room floor, surrounded by stacks upon stacks of papers. He looked unusually disheveled, holding an envelope and staring at it unblinkingly.
“Sirius?” Remus asked, setting down his bags and walking to where his boyfriend was sitting. “What’s going on?”
SIrius looked up at him, eyes widening. He tried to hide the envelope in his pocket, but Remus saw.
“Sirius, what’s that?” Remus asked.
“It’s, erm, my…creative writing?” Sirius said. “Yeah, creative writing. For classes and stuff.”
“Yeah, right,” Remus said dryly. “Sirius, please just tell me. I can’t help if I don’t know what’s bothering you.”
Sirius’s eyes darted around the room, presumably looking for the nearest escape. “It’s nothing important.”
“Sirius, c’mon,” Remus coaxed. “I just want to help.”
Sirius looked conflicted for a moment, probably debating on whether to trust him or not.
“It’s- well, first, I gotta tell you something,” he sighed. “Remember when I said that I ran away from home at sixteen on a teenage-hormone-driven whim? Well, I lied. Walburga and Orion- my biological parents- were abusing me, so I left.”
“Oh, love,” Remus opened his arms, offering Sirius a hug, which he gladly took. “I’m sorry. Look, I can hunt them down and punch them in the face for you, if you’d like?”
“Nah,” Sirius chuckled. “Would be funny, though. But back to the story. I left, and they got mad. They tried to get me back multiple times-” he shuddered. “Thank goodness James had the sense to not leave me alone for the few months after.”
It suddenly clicked in Remus’s head. “They- they tried to have you kidnapped,” he whispered, horrified. He wanted to clutch this boy to his chest and never let go.
Sirius shrugged nonchalantly. “Yep. They failed, though, suckers. Anyways, Walburga sent me a letter today. No idea how she got the address, but whatever.”
“No that isn’t just whatever,” Remus hissed. “I’m going to find that bitch and fucking bury her alive.”
“Would be funny, to be honest. Not the point, though. Basically, Orion’s dying and she wants me to visit him in the hospital.”
“Oh, that fucking cunt,” Remus snarled. “Don’t go. Or do, and I’ll go with you so I can deck her. The fucking audacity she has-”
“No, that’s what I said!” Sirius exclaimed. “You can get the hag, I can have a talk with my ‘old man’ and then we can go get ice cream to celebrate.”
“That works,” Remus said, pulling out his phone and opening the Calendar app. “When are we gonna go? Gotta schedule it.”

But then Sirius and Remus realises what they did wrong but reader just doesnt want to because shes scared they'll leave her out again.💗
hi angel! thank you for the request ♡

You lean against the doorway, quietly observing them. Something you always seem to be doing these days. Your eyes rake over Sirius, with his legs propped up on one arm of the couch while his head lies in Remus’ lap.
Sirius laughs, and the smile Remus gives him while he strokes his hair is so full of love. It makes you wonder if Remus thought he personally strung up all the stars in the sky or something.
You try not to let it get to you but it does anyway, that same stinging sensation in your chest, as though someone had pierced your heart.
It felt silly to feel as hurt as you did. The boys were so hopelessly in love, it was endearing. They had claimed to love you the same way too just a few weeks ago. When they first proclaimed their love, it felt surreal. Perfect. But now, it felt like a chore.
Not to you, never to you. Loving them would never feel like a chore to you, you were sure of that. But what if they felt that way? What if you were just an experiment gone wrong?
Maybe you were just overthinking the whole thing. Or maybe this relationship was a mistake.
Sirius and Remus perfectly complemented each other already, it was like Remus was a container and Sirius was water. And you were the lid that just never fit right. Remus was calm, peaceful, loving. Sirius was fun, snarky, and full of affection.
What were you? Just a random girl who had the fortune of stumbling across the lovely couple.
They hadn’t done anything in particular to upset you, they never would. But it was the way they instinctively walked closer together, their fingers interlaced. The way they glanced at each other, having silent conversations you would never understand. How they seemed to know everything about the other, from every inch of his skin to every thought in his head.
It was like they could see colours you couldn’t see, speak a language you didn’t understand.
You told yourself it was fine, they had just known each other longer. They stayed in the same dorm room and took the same classes, of course they were bound to be closer.
But wasn’t that exactly the problem? Their lives were inexplicably intertwined, and it felt like you were trying to wedge yourself in. It left you feeling like the side character in your own story.
You heard your name and snapped out of your daze, blinking as you find Sirius grinning stupidly at you from where he lazed on the sofa. His expression softens when your eyes meet his. “Love, come over here! We’ve been looking for you all day.”
That was a lie, your brain screamed at you. You spotted them chatting in lessons, eating together at the Great Hall, taking a walk in the garden. They were not looking for you, it was a lie.
Remus smiles softly, beckoning you over. You will yourself to move, to go sit with your boyfriends, but it’s like your legs have turned to stone.
You silently stand there, watching them. You try to muster a smile or open your mouth to say something. But nothing comes out except for a quiet wrangled sort of noise.
Remus looks at you strangely. Sirius frowns, his eyebrows creasing. He pushes his palms down on the couch, elbows buckling as he sits up a bit. “Y/N, baby? Why don’t you come on over?”
You watch Remus gently move his fingers to Sirius’ forehead to smoothen the lines between his eyebrows, and him turning around to give the sandy-haired boy a lovesick smile. That simple action causes the last ounce of willpower in you to break.
You clench your fists to stop your hands from trembling as you suck in a deep breath, feeling the ache in your chest start to grow. Was it jealousy? Anger? Hurt?
Sirius seemed ready to move to your side right that moment, looking utterly confused as to what was wrong. But Remus kept his hand wrapped around Sirius’ bicep, a silent order to let you be.
“Angel,” Remus breathes quietly. You visibly flinch at the term of endearment, not missing the flash of hurt across his face which he quickly replaced with his usual stoicism.
Your heart was thudding so loudly you wondered if the boys could hear it. You swallow the lump in your throat, stuck between wanting to burn the bridges between you or to walk across them.
“I…” your voice comes out scratchy as you try to explain yourself. You clear your throat, watching Sirius’s frown deepen and Remus bite his lip anxiously.
“I don’t think I want to,” you say quietly, feeling your heart sink to your stomach. You knew Remus would understand, always the perceptive one. It was obvious in the way his eyes widened and his grip on Sirius loosened.
But Sirius just tilts his head, looking at you quizzically. “Okay…? You can sit on the other couch then. You can sit anywhere you want to, love.”
You wince, glancing at Remus for help. But he’s looking at you with that sad look on his face now, the one he only wears when he sees Sirius crying after receiving a letter from home, or when you show up at Hogwarts after the holidays with bruises all over. Did it really hurt him that much?
A sigh escapes you as you decide to try to be gentle with it. That’s the least you could do, after the boys had so generously let you in on their already perfect relationship. You suck in a shaky breath, mustering the courage to croak out the words.
“It’s not about the couch, Siri. I… I mean this,” you mutter, gesturing between the three of you. Immediately, your head ducks down, scared of what you’ll find if you look back up at them.
An uncomfortable silence is cast over the room, the kind that makes your skin crawl. A beat of quietness passes before you find the strength to raise your head, peeking at the boys. Sirius looks cracked open, his face a picture of anguish.
“What?” he rasps out. Remus’ features are tight with something that looks like grief, his hand ghosting over Sirius’ ankle to provide the little comfort he can.
The croakiness of his voice makes your heart feel like it’s being cleaved in two. But you knew you had to do this. For your sake, and for theirs.
“I can’t do this anymore,” you mumble in a rush, eager to get it out and not have to endure watching them in pain for too long. Sirius stays silent, his lips pursed so tight you think he might burst into tears.
“Why?” Remus asks quietly, gaze still trained onto yours as he rubs circles onto Sirius’ ankle comfortingly. “I… I don’t fit in. You guys are perfect for each other. But I just don’t fit in,” you admit, feeling guilt clawing at you. “This just isn’t working,”
“We’ll make it work,” Sirius says immediately, and the sincerity in his voice almost makes you want to concede. But you know that’s not possible. “Just… just tell us what we’re doing wrong, we’ll fix it. I swear.”
Remus nods slowly, looking at you expectantly. The hope on their faces make you feel like the worst person in the world as you give them all you have to offer - a small shake of your head.
“But love,” Sirius murmurs, his voice cracking. “Why… what… where did we mess up?”
“It wasn’t you guys,” you say immediately, even though it was. You just can’t bear to see the pain etched on the black-haired boy’s face. “It’s just not meant to be. We’re better off as friends.”
“But we love you,” Remus speaks up quietly. Sirius nods earnestly.
“I can’t,” you say, relieved that your voice comes out evenly. It’s a miracle with how hard you’re fighting to hold back tears. “I can’t do this. The both of you are always together, and I'm not blaming you for it. It’s in your nature to be together-”
“It’s in your nature to be with us too, dove,” Sirius says, the anguish in his voice leaving to make way for pure sadness.
“It’s not,” your voice coming out as a pathetic sob. “I’m not like you guys. I’m not fun, I don’t take the same classes, I don’t ever get what you mean. We’re just not right for each other.”
You think you can see something break in Remus when you utter that last sentence. Sirius bites down on his quivering lip and wraps his arms around himself, as though physically restraining himself from pulling you into a hug.
This isn’t the first time they’ve ignored what you said, isn’t the first time they didn’t respond. It happened on a daily basis, for Merlin’s sake. But this is the only time it hurt as much as it did right now.
You glance at them one last time, heart breaking at their pained expressions. But none of them say a word as you turn around and leave the room, letting you go all too easily.
Perhaps you were just not meant to be.

Sirius' Admirer
poly!wolfstar x fem!reader at a party with Sirius' determined admirer
CW: fluff, shy!reader but it's only discussed, possessive Remus, brief mention of alcohol/being tipsy but no description
original request/prompt = @unstablereader
The party was winding down as the small group that was left in Gryffindor tower pulled the various sofas and chairs closer to the low coffee table for another party game.
Not you, though.
Remus was very happy to have you curled up in his lap, pretty well asleep, as he watched Sirius smirk and laugh with the remaining party goers.
It was no secret that you were a touch more shy than Sirius or Remus were.
Okay, you were terribly more shy than Sirius and Remus were, but Remus was more than happy to sit on the sidelines with his and Sirius’ little wallflower.
And it was no secret you put in a solid effort to be more social for your more extroverted boyfriends'; showing up to this party was evidence of that, both of them knowing that the old you would have never agreed to such a thing.
He was certain that had you been a little less tipsy and a little more awake, you would rather die than be seen falling asleep in one of your boyfriend’s lap.
That made Remus love his current situation all the more.
You shifted slightly at a boisterous laugh from the group and Remus used his hand that was supporting you to rub your back soothingly. He couldn’t help the proud smirk that took over his face when you nuzzled a little further into his chest at the action.
Remus could suddenly smell trouble in the form of one Gryffindor girl a year below the three of you - who seemed to have quite the crush on Sirius - as she approached the group.
Now it’s important to note that it’s not that he blamed the girl for her crush, per se, but he certainly didn’t like it.
And Moony liked it even less.
Remus watched as the girl approached Sirius, and Sirius - not quite able to rid himself of the Pureblood gentleman he was raised beaten to be - began to stand in order to offer her his chair.
“Oh that’s okay! We can both fit!” The girl offered boldly, grabbing Sirius’ arm before he was at his full height and pulling him back down into the (albeit rather large) one seater chair.
Though Remus could see Sirius was slightly taken aback by the boldness of the younger Gryffindor, he quickly schooled his face and offered a polite shrug before turning his gaze to the rest of the room.
Before the game began, Sirius’ eyes flit upwards towards the chair he knew the two of you were occupying where he took in your tangled forms.
A soft, loving smile took over his face as he watched your chest rise and fall peacefully before his eyes met Remus’, who he offered a wink before returning to the game at hand.
Now Remus tried to focus on the feel of your steady breathing, your weight on his chest, the warmth of your body, and the contentment he had felt all night with you and Sirius.
But Moony was far more concerned with that little witch who was sitting far too close to his Padfoot.
Remus tried to mentally grab The Wolf by the scruff of the neck, begging him to relax for now.
And it almost worked.
Except the little witch had thrown her head back in laughter and slapped Sirius' thigh playfully.
Remus could feel a possessive discontentment rumble through his chest, and unfortunately for him, so did you.
“I’m sorry, dovey. It’s okay, go back to sleep.” He murmured, pressing a conciliatory kiss to your hairline as you stirred in his lap.
You tightened your hold on Remus in a way that you never do in public, and he was immediately back to feeling quite smug about his current situation.
Though, unfortunately, the smugness didn’t last long.
Sirius was having a playful row with James over whether or not James had cheated during his turn, paying no mind to the younger girl who was scooching ever closer to him in his distraction, to the point that Remus felt she was nearly sitting right on his lap.
Mine. Moony growled petulantly in his mind.
Remus thought, hoped, and prayed that he was strong enough to ignore it, but it seemed that either Moony was particularly possessive tonight or this witch was particularly bothersome.
Sirius was leaning forward in the seat with his elbows on his knees conversing with Peter as the witch leaned forward and rested her head on his shoulder.
Remus wasn’t exactly sure what his plan was in attempting to stand up, but that plan (or lack thereof) was quickly thwarted when you whimpered at the disruption.
“Moons?” You whined as you started to tense; eyes scrunching in preparation to open and see what Remus’ fuss was about.
“Sorry. I'm sorry babylove.” He cooed as he settled back into his chair and kissed the space between your brows.
Damn his difficult hot and oblivious boyfriend and his sweet little sleepy girl - causing him nothing but grief.
How in the sodding hell did Sirius not notice what was going on right now!? He had to feel the weight of her stupid sodding head on his shoulder?
But apparently whatever discourse he was currently participating in with Peter was more interesting than his admirer.
Remus tried to remind himself that the fact that Sirius wasn’t noticing and not interested in the witch was really rather a good thing as he continued to keep an eye on his boyfriend and his boyfriend’s devotee.
Apparently though, Remus had a threshold.
And that threshold came in the form of the witch slowly wrapping both her arms around Sirius’ arm that she was already leaning against.
Sirius barely had time to furrow his brows and turn to look at the girl incredulously before Remus had shot a tame stinging hex at him.
“Ouch! What the fuck?” Sirius hissed as he shook the hand Remus had stung - not coincidentally the hand that the witch was moments away from trying to hold - forcing the girl to straighten up from where she’d been attempting to cosy up to him.
“Oi Prongs, are Rem and my girl still around?” Sirius called loudly regardless of the fact that Remus knew that Sirius knew exactly where they were.
“Never very far, Pads.” James smirked as he used his head to gesture towards your and Remus’ forms.
Sirius looked over with a salacious grin on his face before quickly standing and abandoning the witch in her chair built for one as he made for the two of you.
“Awe our poor girl, Rem.” Sirius cooed as he leaned over you to press a kiss to Remus’ lips. “You should have called me over earlier so we could bring her to bed.”
“You seemed a little preoccupied.” Remus answered pointedly, though his chiding was minimised by the teasing smile on his face.
“Fuckin’ weird.” Sirius breathed out before crouching down to be level with you.
“Hey pretty girl.” Sirius murmured as he pushed some of your hair away from your face. “You ready for bed?”
You let out a pitiful sound as you tried to nuzzle further into Remus’ chest, only for both boys to chuckle at you.
“Come on, sleepy-head.” He continued, pulling you from Remus’ lap by your hands and into his chest. Remus watched Sirius support basically the entirety of your weight where you were leaning against him as he guided you towards the stairs of the boys’ dormitory.
“Goodnight everyone!” He called to the group, causing you to timidly burrow further into his side to hide from what Remus was sure was the horrifying ordeal of being seen.
Remus watched as everyone wished the three of you a good night, save the usurping witch who was pouting in her rather empty looking chair.
Remus couldn’t really blame her for trying, he supposed, but if anyone was going to spend the night cuddling you and Sirius, it was going to be him.
