Happy 28th to THE ROCK (1996), one of the best action movies of the 1990's in my opinion, and because I subscribe to the theory that John Mason is an older version of Sir Sean Connery's 007, I also consider it one of the best James Bond movies, too.

I finished The Complete Sir Marrok, and I had this wacko-brilliant idea, at least in terms of a modern day (sort of) take on the tale:

The Complete Sir Marrok in the vein of The Dukes of Hazzard.

Just think about it.

Lady Irma could be some kind of witch from Appalachia, and Marrok could have his own land near the mountain range, and bonus points, he's the local sheriff! Heck, maybe he could even be a relative of some kind of high-class family, and therefore he's got enough ties to higher ups to pull some strings and get the people of his county good food, supplies, etc. It'd totally work!

And somehow or other, Irma gets to turn him into a wolf, though he'd likely have to be a red wolf - but hey, just make him bigger than normal. He'd still stand out to folks when he appears. A red wolf is a rare sight, and a big one even rarer.

Then Irma could be manipulating events, and she'd put in Prior Richard, who'd be our stand in for Boss Hog, as the mayor, while Morcar would be like some uber nasty invertion of Enos, trying to get Agnes (Daisy Duke) from Sir Simon (Uncle Jesse). That way, you could put in (maybe, I'm speaking crazy now) Bo and Luke Duke as the son of Sir Simon and one of them as Sir Roger, though maybe not so much Sir Roger. And you could still fit in Father John and the friars, though I got nothing on who could be standing in for them. All I do know is I'm picturing Jim Caviezel as Father John, and I keep having visions of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) as Marrok. Maybe Max Charles as his missing son Walter too (I will literally take them in live action or animation as this duo, modern day retelling or a straight up adaptation of the book. Please, I'm begging you, see my vision!)

Anybody else got ideas? Like Marrok's adventures as a red wolf who goes around the county saving people and searching for his son, who got sent out of state but returns as a young lawman?

My son (14yo) and I are talking about Outlander, I'm telling him he should give it a watch, it is totally undrafted SiFi. My Bride from the next freaking room, "OMG I can't believe you are trying to get our son to watch a show you swore you'd never watch because it's not real SiFi!!" Instantly she turns into Valerie from The Princess Bride (1987).

I'm like what are you talking about, have you even seen Outlander? Then It clicks. I said I'm talking about Outlander (2008) the movie not Outlander (2014-2020) that trash drama show you love so much. Then my son has to try to monkey fuck the whole situation by saying "Dad, is Outlander the one with Sean Connery, because I've already seen that one?" Now I'm just getting frustrated, "NO! That's Outland (1981), still a good movie but not Outlander."

"Outlander, is basically Beowulf (975 A.D.) with spaceships and crap. A spaceship crashes in 709 A.D Scandinavia and that's where the story starts. There are no time traveling stones to walk through, no popping back and forth in time, no ladies plucked from the 1960's and landing in the 1800's but still acting like she was in the 1960's." I'm talking about the goodness that is Outlander the movie with James Caviezel Jr., Sophia Myles, Ronald Perlman and a personal favorite of mine, the legendary Sir John Vincent Hurt. If you want some low budget, high acting sifi give Outlander (2008) a watch, don't watch Outlander the series (2014-2020), and yes, if you have not seen Outland (1981) put it in the queue.

Episode 1 - Arrival - Alex Deacon, field agent for the CIA, arrives in London. Emily Peters Carstairs leaves the palatial home of her late husband, ostensibly for a doctor's appointment, she's three months pregnant. The Lady of the manor fusses and tries to force Emily to take the Bentley with a chauffeur but she insists on driving herself. Lady Miranda wants to accompany her granddaughter-in-law, worried that the death of her grandson two months ago is affecting the pregnancy.

Emily swings by and picks up Alex Deacon from his flat, they'll be working together at MI6. We're introduced to Sir John Kingsley and Andy Jenkins, heading up a super secret operation.

At the manor, a drunken Angelique accuses her mother of the death of Angelique's beloved son, Emily's late husband. Lady Miranda in turn accuses Angelique of indulging her son too much and it is all her fault he died abroad.

Charlotte Belmont and Andy Jenkins begin their collaboration, clashing a few times as they work out the mechanics of the mission.

Episode 2 - Separated by a Common Language  - Tensions mount as miscommunication is the order of the day, resulting in strategies being scrapped and new plans being brainstormed by Charlotte and Andy. Charlotte goes for a drink after work and runs into Alex. Sparks fly.

Emily continues to find excuses to leave the manor, bound to silence by the Official Secrets Act.

Episode 3 - Secrets - Charlotte wakes up in a strange bed, naked, Alex beside her. As they get ready for work, they swear it will never happen again.

Emily has to dodge a private investigator, and find out who hired a tail for her and why.

Sir John wines and dines Lady Miranda, who's worried about her granddaughter-in-law.

Mission in the Middle East starts to come together, Andy is pleased and offers to take Charlotte to dinner.

Loud knock on Alex's door, late at night. When he opens the door, Charlotte pushes him against the wall and starts kissing him. Separated from her husband, she's seeking a connection in a way she never could.

Episode 4 - Changes - Tragic news for Charlotte and Alexwhen they arrive at MI6 - Andy Jenkins was killed the night before while crossing the street, a simple hit and run... or was it? They need to find out.

Emily experiences labour pains while working in her lab, creating and refining the gadgets the agents use in the field. She's rushed to hospital, where Angelique and Lady Miranda smother her with their attention.

New liaison arrives to co-ordinate with Charlotte, Nick Meres. Laid back but brilliant, he was an excellent field agent at one time.

Episode 5 - Emily is released from hospital, false alarm. Instead of bed rest, goes to work, missing her husband, Jeremy, who often inspired her work.

Nick and Charlotte continue on with the planning after he is brought up to speed. Mission begins next week.

Lady Miranda and Angelique are frantic, can't find Emily anywhere.

Episode 6 - Exposed - Emily is confined to bed rest against her will by Lady Miranda and Angelique, both concerned about the health of Jeremy's heir. The butler guards the door.

The first phase of planning wraps up and Nick catches Charlotte alone, gives her gentle advice that she and Alex live in different worlds, but he hopes they'll work something out.

Sir John is pleased by how well Charlotte and Nick have worked together, he hopes Nick will remain and help with the next phase as Alex oversees the agents soon to be sent overseas.

Dark, stormy night, heavy rain, bolts of lightning, 2 in the morning... and the very loud doorbell is rung, the peal of a loud bell rings through the house. Butler goes to answer the door, Emily, almost ready to give birth, Angelique arm around her protectively, Lady Miranda standing imperiously behind the butler. Door is opened. Loud crack of thunder.

"Hello, Grandmother," Jeremy says, very disdainfully, flash of lightning reveals bearded, ragged Jeremy Carstairs.

Series was renewed, so the original ending is bumped to season 2, Sir John arriving with a few secret service agents to arrest Lady Miranda, who had planned to raise the greatgrandchild to be the future Tory Prime Minister and re-establish the U.K. as the foremost world power after the downfall of the U.S.

Emily goes into labour, seeing her not dead husband and Jeremy helps deliver their child.

Keith Szarabajka as Nick Meres, replacing Jim Calviezel, who had to leave to film the movie he had been signed to star in.

Arthur Darvill - Jeremy Carstairs, the believed to be dead husband of Emily.

Donovan Crayford ( faceclaim: michael malarkey ):  - auto mechanic  - spent most of his life dating kiana before breaking it off when she returned from overseas  - tries to spread joy where he can, volunteers in his spare time at shelters and hospitals

Dylan Abernathy ( faceclaim: amy acker ):  - farmer / veteran  - literal human sunshine who makes it her goal to brighten the day of whoever she comes across  - most of the workers on her farm were homeless before she met them and offered them a place to work and live
