I keep hearing about this analog horror thing called The Man in the Suit, but I think I've absorbed too much Godzilla production history to ever enjoy it. Haruo Nakajima's plenty interesting without trying to make him into Springtrap. He fought in the Pacific War when he was 14. He attended Admiral Yamamoto's funeral. He decided to become an actor on a whim after he was arrested for speeding and lost his job as a truck driver. Godzilla's director hired him for the titular role because he volunteered to be set on fire the last time they worked together. He invented a style of acting that became synonymous with Japanese special effects. He had a bit part in Seven Samurai the same year. He mentored the original Ultraman actor because some of the villains were made from kaiju costumes he had originally worn. He had a one-sided rivalry with another Godzilla actor in the 90s. He spend his final years as a regular on the U.S. convention circuit, during which he met the original King Kong armature and was, on a few occasions, in the same room as me.

Made some fanart of The Man in the Suit as I think it's a wonderfully creative series! Alt version below the cut!

The feminine urge to care for analog horror creatures like my own blood is as strong as the Niagara Falls. The Man in The Suit? The Boiled One Phenomenon? Vita Carnis? They're my children/sweet peas. Oh they're just evil menaces came to earth to doom humanity? They can kill me in 100 brutal and heartless ways? Don't care, didn't ask. I'm still going to cook dinner and read them a bedtime story. I'll dress them up in pretty suits and dresses, help them tie their shoes, maybe even help them with their homework. I might be frustrated and accidentally lash out at them at the dining table, I might expect them to do more than they're capable of, I might expect them to live up to my expectations. But at the end of the day, I'll apologise for not being a good mother/carer for them. I'll tell them the world is full of cruel people, and they should be aware. I'll tell them they deserve everything.

If I won a dollar each time I saw a horror media with a man in a animatronic suit, I would have 3 dollars (it’s not that much, but is weird to think that it’s happened three times)

Man why are people on the internet such fucking dickheads. Learnt that my favourite analog horror [The Man in the Suit]'s creator Unknowingly has been bullied to the point he's taking a long break and might never continue the series and it's like. Like how the fuck are you going to bully a LITERAL KID over a analog horror they've made??? Not only is that morally fucked up but the series itself is good. This kid's art has unsettled me far deeply than any other analog horror simply due to its lore, its implications and constant feeling of dread due to The Man in the Suit's presence and just. How he is. For example: Rare Newspaper (1964) was probably the most freaky one to me but I can't put my finger on it. Idk what it was but the idea of a kid seeing a human-sized Godzilla in the road and it being so unsettling that they say "The thing I saw outside wasn't Godzilla. I think it was some man in a suit" implies a whole new level of body horror that a CHILD can identify it as unnatural. Idk I just thought it was cool and unsettling and neat and it pisses me off people think the series is so shit they should threaten and torment the LITERAL MINOR WHO MADE IT. Fucks sake

This scene had me sobbing like a baby John literally saving the whole world and his best friend by sacrificing himself? I hadn't seen a more heartbreaking yet a beautiful and a very poetic ending for a hero than this. This was such an underrated show. One of the best ones I have ever scene.
