I WAS JUST TALKING ABOUT THIS WITH MY PARTNER—
Just, I know the graphics are going to be good but please god somebody monitor that man I cannot go through more weird and awkward sex jokes and women being treated like meat. I need my decepticons to be overdramatic and colorful too—I have a soft spot for dorito-scream because of nostalgia but like??? Please. Keep the colors and the fun, let the humans compliment the bots and not overshadow—please we just had tf one and before that we had bumblebee and ROTB and those were so good—DO NOT BLOW THIS FOR US MICHAEL
what pisses me off more than anything is that paramount is the one backing this. paramount. the ones who told josh cooley they weren't interested in a tfone sequel.
i will admit, bbm and rotb were pretty dang good, and they both have a special place in my heart. but we can't deny that michael bay has a tendency for... well, yeah, everything you listed above. the misogyny, the racism, the romeo and juliet law thing, it's all very gross.
my one little bit of hope is that, since michael bay produced tfone, this is his way of telling paramount that yes, fans DO want more transformers movies, which might leave an opportunity for a tfone sequel in the future? but i don't know. that's pretty far fetched, even for me.

In Greta Gerwig’s Narnia, God Is a Woman and the Usual Suspects Are Spinning It Faster Than Lewis’ Corpse in His Grave.
Again, please consider:
Would you call Michael Bay a “visionary” if he was hired to reboot Wonder Woman and not only cast Chris Pratt as the lead character, but made Diana “Wonder Man?”
Would you call him a “visionary” for taking a character who’s based off a historical figure, a historical figure who’s gender is an integral part of their iconography, and swapping that gender?
Would you call it “visionary” for Michael Bay to grab Wonder Woman, who is associated with a historical person that means so much to huge swathes of worldviews, and invert Wonder Woman?
Would you, seriously?
Be intellectually honest.
It’s not “visionary.” It’s narcissistic.
Who are you, who do you think you are, to take something that means something bigger than you to people who are more numerous than you and invert it? So that it only means what you think it should mean, and all your groupies?
She’s Woman, so God has to be, too. Because she thinks she’s god. The narcissism. I’m choking on it.
What a one-trick pony Greta Gerwig is.
Barbie’s gotta be Eve-turned-into-God-because-God-should-be-a-Woman-because-Greta’s-a-Woman.
Jo’s gotta be representing-Greta-Gerwig’s-personal-experience-as-a-woman-which-represents-every-woman’s-experience-as-a-woman-because-Greta-Gerwig-is-all-there-is.
Ain’t you got any other tricks, Madam Mirror? Some “visionary.”

Deeply inhales . . . Michael . . . It's been a while . . . You should stop.
I get it, some people like the movies. I get it. They like them and I don't and I should not get in the way of people's love for it.
But he's made 5 movies from this franchise already. And has proven he is terrible at handling it. Each movie become more and more bland.
Also, have we forgotten what this man was like? Megan Fox left the movies because of his shit behavior towards him. We've seen how he handles women, we know how this will go.
I don't care if other people want him back. There was nothing good about his movies and how he makes them. Cause time and time again he has proven all he can make is shit.
We just got Transformers One. THE BEST TRANSFORMERS MOVIE WE'VE HAD EVER! AND YOUR GOING BACK TO SLOP AFTER THAT EXPERIENCE!?
Forgive me, but I'm definitely not watching this film when it comes. Cause I'm done with live action shit. I would have rather have a Tramsformers One sequel.

You know that asteroid that almost destroyed Earth in the 90s? Turns out the whole thing was secretly created by Michael Bay, who then PAID Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck to look heroic while blowing it up!
The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald [Explained]
Transcript Under the Cut
[Cueball is holding a guitar and singing on a pier.] The ship was the pride of the American side It was due to set sail forCleveland As the big freighters go, it was bigger than most With a crew and good captain well seasoned
But taking a walk on the shore by the dock Was a songwriter named Gordon Lightfoot He was humming a tune but it didn't have words For it's challenging trying to write good
Poor Gordon sought glory but needed a story His career in folk music imperiled He mulled over this as he watched them do work On the hull of the Edmund Fitzgerald
Perhaps it was wrong, what he did for a song He should never have bribed that mechanic But his maritime crimes are no worse than the time Young James Cameron sank the Titanic

So I rewatched the first Michael Bay transformers movie last night. I forgot how enjoyable it is. As someone who was an awkward teen Sam whitwicky is an amusing character to watch because I to would have freaked out if my car was a giant alien robot. And honestly I would also put on a brace face to impress the pretty girls I go to school with. The bots are also just so funny to watch at parts because they just don’t understand human customs and rules. The military parts are interesting to watch and they really reflect the time. But not in a horrible way it shows the tension in the world post 9-11 and how seriously every threat was taken. The military guys are not these indestructible ass holes. They are stressed out guys who are thrust into this wild situation and are doing the best they can with there limited information. Sector 7 is a blatant display of how the military is stone walled in some ways. They don’t give any information unless they are in danger and they blatantly break laws by searching the whitwicky home without a warrant. It’s not rich in lore or the best story we’ve seen from transformers but it’s an enjoyable film to just put on and watch every once in a while. Now I’m not a fan of the later bay movies but the first two are some that I really enjoy watching with my family and an easy transformers film to show friends without them getting lost.

NOTE! I did NOT do this artwork, I merely recolored it for the sake of having a visual reference. This is what I imagine Starscream to look like in the form of a WWII Messerschmitt Me 262 jet. This is the form he takes in my Ao3 fanfic of him. I probably spent way longer on this than I needed too, but I really like how the recoloring turned out.
Tumblr media
He froze.
Before him, barely illuminated by the light, was the sleekest and most streamlined plane Otto had ever seen in his life.
It was a Messerschmitt, no doubt, he'd worked on enough of them to recognize the company's engineering tendencies, but it was a model he'd never seen before.
He'd only ever heard scant rumors from other pilots. Experimental planes being worked on in secret, their speed supposedly able to surpass all other aircrafts ever made. What he'd heard seemed so exaggerated, the capabilities so impossible, Otto had begun to doubt if such an aircraft really could exist.
Yet here it was, right in front of him.
From nose to aft, barring the alabaster underbelly, the entire fuselage was a vibrant crimson. The swept wings, reminding Otto of a swallow in flight, bore a subtle off-white hue which, aside from the Balkenkreuz cross, were only accented by a thin red stripe and a white line running parallel to the back rim of the leading-edge slats.
The massive podded engines, fused to the bottom of the wings, were painted in stark contrast to the rest of the body. Their sky blue color, only ever used on a select number of planes, was also streaked on the back half of the tail's horizontal stabilizers. It was not a color Otto would've expected the designers to use, especially alongside the red paint. In any other instance he would have found the combination garish and ostentatious. But somehow, the contrast managed to enhance the appeal of the other colors; it certainly made the red pop all the more.
But the most unusual design choice by far, something never seen on any plane ever, was the slight orange tint present in the glass of the cockpit.
Otto's heart felt ready to leap out of his chest.
Maybe it was the shock of having such a valuable plane in his barn, maybe it was the danger that having something like this might bring, but deep down he knew, it was the sheer joy and euphoria of just marveling at a really, really, really beautiful plane.
And this was a damn jet.
Keep reading on Ao3
