Hey Tumblr! New Transformers fan here, it's also my first time drawing robots. I hope y'all like my take on TFA Optimus!

I thought that Optimus's original design from TFA was very underwhelming at first, but I slowly grew to appreciate it over time along with how he was portrayed in this iteration as I feel like it is befitting of his design despite my first opinions of it in the show.

While having no prior experience to drawing robots, I still wanted to take a crack at designing my own version of Animated Optimus anyways. I took elements from some versions of his G1 design as well as the shouder markings on his Voyager Class toy while adding my own flare to it such as the bigger axe and finials, and the high collar.

This isn't my best work since I've never done mechs before, but I'm still quite happy with how he turned out. Let me know what you guys think!

Human!Optimus Prime

Let’s start this series off with our goat Optimus!

As someone who only recently got into transformers and wants to contribute to the fanart but is too lazy to actually learn how to draw robots/mechs, I’ve decided to come up with human designs for some of the transformers! (Mainly the ones from Transformers Prime, cause that’s like the only show I’ve watched so far 💀)

This is the first one I made in the series which I started back in 2023 lmao, so there may be some discrepancies between each design. I only recently came back to it and tweaked his design a bit, but alas, I suck ass at drawing buff people(especially men) so bear with me 😔

I was inspired by cosplayer @/arkhamknight_22.0 on tiktok, so if you see similarities that’s why!!

It was hard to find a balance in casual/comfy and battle-ready for this Optimus cause I wasn’t quite sure what he’d go for in the scenario of TFP. So I went with something that can be seen as both casual and tactical/convenient for fights. Think Jack Reacher.

Something I’m trying to explore with their human designs is the wounds of war; there’s going to be scars and such. So underneath his clothes Optimus wears a sort of battle suit, think similar to the Ironman suit from Infinity War I guess, but also almost a prosthetic at this point. Idk I’m not smart enough for that stuff, I just make it look good 🤷��♂️

Though I do imagine it’s something he can take off, but with all the fighting he feels better to just leave it on most days.

I tried to convey the tough leader who’s willing to do anything for his people but he has a sort of softness to him if that makes sense. So when he has to take the exo-suit thingy off for repairs or whatever reason, if a certain autobot takes to painting some of the panels on it to make him look less intimidating to other bots…then he doesn’t bother scrubbing it off.

Okay, some smaller notes for his design: he wields weapons(axes, swords, etc..) so he has some scars and blisters on his palms. He’s protected the mostly with the gloves but he finds finger covering gloves to lessen his hand mobility so he went with fingerless. (And with built in steel knuckles for that extra punch!!)

I don’t know what his specific age would be but I’m thinking late 50s-mid 60s, but the fight ain’t out of him yet!

Of course there’s the autobot insignia as a belt buckle, I couldn’t really make it work anywhere else at the time of his first design and I got too attached to it to change it 😔 I also gave him(along with the other autobots) those electric blue eyes that they all share in the show! I thought it was cool

I also had to include the iconic red and blue flame decals, and I think it translated well into his leather jacket!

And for those curious here is his old design from two years ago, not much of a difference but there is an improvement

but I had fun with it!!! And I do like the results myself....experimented with colors, lighting, brought it from a literal scribble to something a little more precise.........anyways, hope y'all enjoy :3 💖✨❤️

The Backstory for this was that I was telling my friend about official anime girl transformers figures, and they were dissapointed when they saw the pictures, because they expected figures of actual transformers but dressed as anime girls. So I couldn't not draw this

Hi there!! I bring to you a really silly idea I had inspired by a post from @snowsupply and a comment under said post made by @unicornblossom13 , in which Snow mentioned how Optimus has the prettiest lips and Unicorn mentioned he would have done some modeling gigs before his time as an autobot student, even winning some royalties and keeping some of his old magazines!! I couldn’t get this idea out of my head so I had to make something for it lol (please go and support them since they’re the ones that inspired me with this idea in the first place!)

And since I fully got consumed by this concept, I made a silly comic about the first people to find one of Optimus’s old magazines!! This is technically my first time doing a comic (and drawing TFA! Bee and Sari) so forgive me if this isn't good or they look wonky (and also my handwriting haha, I'm still getting used to writing with an Apple Pencil)

Btw the name for the magazine, Bolide, is an actual astronomy term! It's used to describe an excepcionally bright meteor, and they typically produce a sonic boom. Thought that it fit for a fashion brand name haha

Let me know if you would want more cover magazines art and how the other's react to Optimus’s old job!! I might even do the Decepticons too hehe >:D!!

So.... I've skimmed through the first chapters of tf exodus and I can't stop thinking about what could have been if Orion had refused the Prime title.....and persuaded the Council to chose Megatron instead

I mean the guy DOES have more experience in leadership, in combat, he knows his people and he literally lived through the oppression he's fighting against. If they made Megatron the next Prime it would be such a great example: even former slaves have the chance to get to the top! Besides HE taught Orion about inequality, HE made him aware and what did Orion do? Hijacked the whole fucking thing Megatron worked so hard for. Imagine - you suffered all your damn life to be heard and... nothing. WORSE THAN NOTHING - THEY LISTEN TO THE ONE WHO SAID YOUR IDEAS LOUDER. THE ONE >YOU< INSPIRED. THE ONE YOU BELIEVED. THE ONE YOU CALLED A BROTHER.

The one who's more suitable for them to control, more..."safe".

And Orion agrees to become a Prime. That... must've hurt. So bad.

So...so....WHAT IF............ Orion refused? He is presented with the greatest title on Cybertron and he refuses it in your favour! "Make him a Prime!" - he said - "I'm not worthy of being one. I'm just a clerk, I know nothing of leadership but he does".

I'm so delulu it's not even funny

PS: I love Orion and Optimus so SO MUCH I don't blame him for doing what he did, he had the purest intentions at heart.... he's just too naive sometimes
