Armand Hammer, Quelle Chris, and H31R at Bowery Ballroom

On Thursday, November 16, 2023, New York City’s Armand Hammer performed a sold out show at Bowery Ballroom in support of their newest album, We Buy Diabetic Test Strips, that is out now on Fat Possum Records. The show was a part of their tour which was called “We Buy Diabetic Test Strips: The Physical Experience.” Silka performed a short set as well before Armand Hammer took the stage.

The duo were joined by H31R (JWords and Maassai), who released their new album the following day, and Quelle Chris, who brought out special guest Cavalier during his set. I covered the show for Impose Magazine and the full gallery is now available on their website here.

one of my Curse of Strahd characters, Silka. she's one of the wildfolk of Barovia. I wanted to see her in some traditional wildfolk clothes, which are heavily slavic inspired, specifically Ukranian inspirations!

the Wildfolk here have a lot of Shifters from werecreature ancestry. Silka's line comes from werelynx shifters!

the art is by amazing @liusia-piu. I wanted to get an actual Ukranian artist to do this so I could get some advice on the clothing, the embroidery, and the jewelry. I also learned some cool stuff bout cats in Ukraninan mythology! Thank you so much <33

Michelle Yoeh has joined the cast in Blade Runner 2099. The Amazon limited series is a followup to Black Runner 2049. Silka Luisa serves as showrunner and an executive producer on the series.

Silka Forest AU:⚔️☀️

General Rundown, in this AU Yuka is a part of the unseelie court and as Yuka’s squire it is Silver’s (and of Sebek’s) job to accompany Yuka through the Briar Valley when he is not scheduled for courting interactions with Malleus.

This would be easy of course if Yuka actually wanted to stay in the Briar Valley and not run away into the forest leaving Silver discouraged and questioning his status as a knight.

Yuka Jaune (He/Him)

A dryad fae that has been brought to the Briar Valley to marry Malleus and fix relations with the un-seelie court in the Briar Valley. Does he want this, absolutely not but he has no real choice, at least the squires looking over him believe his lies which make it easy for Yuka to escape into the forest.

Silver Vanrouge

Silver is a freshly trained knight alongside Sebek, despite being human Silver has been able to find himself in fae society and is determined to fulfill his role for Malleus and furthermore for his father. It would be much easier if the fae he is supposed to keep watch over was not trying to escape every few hours, but nevertheless he will do his best to keep Yuka safe. 

Sebek Zigvolt

Like Silver, Sebek is a new knight wishing to fulfill his role for Malleus. However with Yuka making multiple attempts to run away Sebek has grown tired of the fae’s antics and wishes for the courting period to eventually end so Yuka and Malleus finally marry and he can have an easier assignment.

Lillia Vanrouge

Despite no longer being involved with the royal guard and taking up residence in the forest Lillia still does his best to look out for Silver and Sebek when he can by writing both of them letters. Hearing about their new assignment amuses Lillia and he wonders if it would be worth the hassle to visit the Briar Valley to pay Mallues a visit after all these years.

Malleus Draconia

Being the newly crowned King of the Briar Valley Malleus has had to make a number of difficult decisions in order to ensure the prosperity of his kingdom. While he has many reservations on marrying someone he hardly knows he is aware of the customs and the good that would come out of it. As long as he is able to get along with his new partner (and put away his feelings for someone he used to know) he should be fine).

I swear Star Wars robbed us of giving quin some more interesting hairstyles. I’ve always found dreads to be some of the most beautiful and versatile hairstyles out there, so I hope I did them some justice here 💛

I realized I forgot to post the stupidly amazing outfit and weapon design @kinothecleric did for my shifter Silka! I still am in awe!

Silka is a wildfolk from Barovia who was turned into a werecat by Emil Toranescu. She's been a vampire hunter for the last year, rescued and trained by Van Richten's protege, homebrew npc Dr. Woodrow Engelmann.

Silka was under the charm and thrall of a vampire for 3 years before she was rescued, so her personality has been very influenced by that vampire, and her thoughts are very scattered and chaotic and she has a LOT of trauma.

She's a gloomstalker ranger and an artificer loves tinkering and brewing potions. Woody introduced her to guns and bombs and she fell in love with them. Not a great mix with her impulsive chaotic nature, but she's good at what she does.

She recently learned she's the reincarnation of St. Markovia, and they have some things in common. Most important being - they both are redeemers. They want to give even the most evil of people a chance to be their best selves. (Also why Silka is about to take 2 levels in Redemption Paladin)
