Thinking about how much Raj got completely screwed by the TBBT writers. It is so depressing because his character has grown on me quite a bit the more I rewatch episodes. I feel like he deserved a really epic storyline, but got stuck being the NPC of everyone’s lives. He should have been the MVP!

I also really loved his and Sheldon’s friendship. There were many more meaningful moments between them earlier on in the show vs later, and I am sad about that. I mean they both used to work in the same office - which to me would have been a big deal to Sheldon - and I feel like they relate on a deeper level than the other guys. They both have an unique way of looking at the universe, they are both in physics, and Raj’s naturally altruistic heart (No, Leonard is a nice guy, but not altruistic) pairs well with Sheldon’s emotional blind spots, and Sheldon’s self-assurance with Raj’s deep insecurities. I actually prefer them over Leonard and Sheldon in the way. I don’t want to be too harsh on Leonard, but his character does annoy me quite a bit. He is also unreasonably mean and antagonizing to Sheldon, passive aggressively lashing out for his giving into Sheldon at the cost of his own happiness. I don’t know. There are a few times throughout the series that Leonard and Sheldon have some great moments together, but really they are only bffs because the narrative tells us they are. They don’t have a lot of moments that show how much they love one another or even LIKE one another. Sheldon is constantly belittling his field and intelligence too. Whereas Sheldon DID assume that one time that Raj knew about a quantum physics fact over Leonard. Just saying, their friendship could have been pretty cool.

I think that Jack is an interesting character and him growing up fast added a layer to the show that simply wouldn’t have been there otherwise and I appreciate that BUT I think it’s really fun to think about how Jack being a baby would have affected Dean specifically and the choices he made

Because you have these parallels in the episode between Dean and John as it is—they both lost someone they love because of the actions of Lucifer, and they both lost Mary as an ultimate result of her sacrificing her own life to keep her family alive—and, like John hunted down Azazel to kill him, Dean wants to get rid of Jack, who he holds responsible.

But I think that association changes if Jack is a baby. Dean is still paralleled with John as a result of losing Cas, but losing his mom and being left with a baby who might one day be evil due to something outside of their control, and finding himself suddenly in a parental role for that kid? That’s a parallel to Dean’s own past.

And suddenly, the conflict between Dean and Jack isn’t that Dean wants to kill him but is being held back one way or another, it’s that Dean wants to blame Jack first Cas’s death and his mom’s sacrifice, but he CAN’T, because every time Dean looks at baby Jack he sees Sam, who he carried out of a fire at six months old.
