Socialpreneurship is now becoming more mainstream here are a few new ideas for SAHMs, dads, students and professionals interested in earning extra income
richard's relationship with money is so interesting to me despite/because of how vague and nonspecific it is in canon. which only makes sense because the show isn't interested in richard's backstory at ALL and, it being an audio medium, it can't exactly give many context clues like wardrobe/style or what his apartment/house looks like. but it's like......... he doesn't have interests, he dabbles in money-making activities. i am practically forced to assume that his mention of being good at pool also = a side hustle. his estranged dad up and left him a house and a paid ride to college. at this point he's way better off than he's ever been -- after 18 years of living with two separate conmen and a mother who doesn't care about him in mediocre apartments, he's suddenly on his own with his future out in front of him, and....... he STILL takes very risky grade-changing jobs for money? like he bypasses getting a regular college job and goes straight to petty crime? and apparently "far worse" crimes??? it's such an interesting balance between craving the security of Having Money and being pathologically unable to get it in a "normal" "safe" way. he doesn't even do anything with it in canon, he just GETS it. he isn't even buying lucy's drinks himself!!!! obviously even richard has bills to pay (which is. very funny to me. sorry that i think 19-year-old college era richard is the funniest person to ever exist, gremlin who's only ever lived in an apartment with his mother, sister, and mother's rotating cast of boyfriends, suddenly has a whole ass house dumped in his lap on his 18th birthday in exchange for his whole ass father's wholesale abandonment of him, has to figure out how to pay utility bills on his own, maybe thinks about getting a barista job or whatever kids did in the 80s, record shop clerk job?? and then nopes past it and picks "exploiting a child genius" as a career path instead. what a fucking legend. i also think he murdered people for money a couple times but that's just me) sorry i've lost the plot of this post thinking about campbell county community college computers richard. imagine being the people at the 5 Cs in charge of hiring STUDENT COUNSELORS and seeing richard maxwell strut into his interview and thinking "yes this 18-year-old suspiciously home-owning kid who talks like a john hughes movie antagonist and is currently his kid sister's very much illegal guardian is the perfect fit for our emotionally and socially fragile 11-year-old resident genius. what could go wrong" and then they have to pay for nicholas adamsworth's therapy sessions for the next 5 years because richard maxwell was what could go wrong. fuck. "waylaid in the windy city" maybe be my personal favorite richard but pre- and mid-"eugene's dilemma" richard is definitely the weirdest and funniest
yeah idk i really dont have the patience for women w/ the means to not work who shit on women who are forced/to prefer working to not being totally financially dependent on one (1) singular man like if we think for a second about why a woman might want to be poor(er) but in control of her own money rather than "rich" at the behest of a man she's legally tied to do you think we'd get a semi decent explanation as to why a woman might choose option a rather than b 🥺
At this point I have no other choice but to learn all about side hustle! I know I’m not your average type so posts you see but I really want to share my journey with everyone. So Hi, I’m Jazmine. Mom of 3, currently fighting cancer and on a new journey to learning all about making money online from side hustle. Join me! Let’s learn together
Hi! I think its interesting that you point out that Q'orianka Kilcher forgot her ass wasnt white 😂😂😂 but I really think she forgot because she has actually quite a lot of white familial relationships and has a white family and is arguably white adjacent. Despite this, it's a shame that her white family will probably not put their necks on the line like you said. Also, I wonder how members of the Navajo nation (I believe it was the Navajo who adopted her in for her fame status and money?? Allegedly) will react
I wouldn't say she's white adjacent necessarily, because she's definitely built her whole brand & identity on embodying a certain kind of white gaze image of Indigeneity, so like... she HAS to know that physically, there's no way lol.
But I think she fell into the very cliché biracial trap of being surrounded entirely & exclusively by the white side of her family (except for her one other biracial brother) and letting that delude her into thinking she has access to their privilege, and can play by their social rules. Like she very very much forgot that she is not going to be treated like a young blonde ingenue when she commits a crime, and that despite her fans & her career, getting caught out with something like this just turns you back into a "scamming Indian" or "thieving Spic" in a lot of folks' eyes, and having a white mom, stepdad, and fully white brother will not save you from that!
And on top of that, the other white Kilchers don't really seem to fuck with her mama, or by extension, her. Jewel only even publicly acknowledged they're cousins SUPER recently, like promoed her being on Yellowstone, so I'm sure she's not eager to have her name associated with this. The Kilchers in Alaska who have a reality TV show have never mentioned that part of the family.
And whatever Tribal Nation she's been "adopted" into will not be sticking their necks out for her, either. Especially since that was really done as a way to network & access North American Native resources and acting roles for her, and not to like buy a fake heritage, they'll have no reason to even acknowledge this case.
I'm honestly expecting radio silence from a lot of folks, including her friends in Native Hollywood, because the kind of scrutiny she's under really is going to destroy her career. And especially in a moment where like, film & TV is just getting back on its feet since the start of the pandemic, Indigenous TV is having a big moment, and big studios have been making some long overdue baby steps into casting diversity, nobody wants to lose that momentum for HER, and there's a line out the door of equally skilled Native talent ready & eager to fill her place.
All of this may play out differently by the time this goes to court in August, so we'll see. But I anticipate she's really gonna be left high & dry on this one, and may even deserve it.
Trying to find a job that is experience-over-degree and fits my disability necessities is impossible what if i just lie down in a large forest and disappear into the soft damp earth
tfw this person u barely know but is friends(?) with the person u killed a prince with so theyre coming with u on the run. they go out to get clothes with said friend. accidentally nearly kill a guy & then get the town guards looking for them. & they come back to ur place so u pull them into ur room to hide out as the guards talk to ur adopted mom at the front door. and after they leave ur gonna go to look out the front window of ur room and ur like "You should hide under the bed to make sure they can't see you in here." & theyre like "Are you Serious?" & u (aka Fang) is just like. a lil snarkily, "Or you could hide in the bed. We could say you're a customer." & theyre like "Oh, don't tempt me with a good time." & then u just kinda Smirk & push them towards the bed b4 going to peek out the window as they ultimately hide under the bed and just
what . a fuckin moment . fang is not rly one to flirt outside of the job so this kinda took me by surprise lmfao. but i think a lil friendly flirt banter with a new friend is a GREAT vibe we r starting
