And the other thing with Milchick is that it's not like people don't even understand him. Okay finished the finale! I liked it more fully now. That initial argument just pissed me off bc it felt so contradictory to a lot of things.

I still don't think a romance was the best vehicle to frame the themes through, but I'm also someone who feels anything but neutral-negative about romances like.....1% of the time. Idk I just rarely find romances compelling and I preferred Hellys character from season 1. Someone pointed out that severance subverted typical themes by having Hellys motivations be entirely self driven and Dylan being the one to move for family. I know having kids and having a romance aren't the same thing but they're in the same building yfm

Kept me glued to my seat regardless, and now I'm super curious what all is gonna go down next season bc like....Lumon is gonna go down anyways. They kind have to now that Gemma is out.

I still like how they write women in this in that they're the ultimate victims of this weird cult, Gemma being the foremost but even Helena, being born into that family and raised to be nothing else but a vessel for this creepy patriarch. And then Gwendoline Christie's character--she exists just to nurture and raise these creatures to lead them to execution.
