Sooo i would just like to share how pissed/annoyed/hurt i am that dreamworks.

Shrek 5 What the Fuck:

-Changed the design of the characters/animation( you do realise Shrek's suppose to be a satire of fairytales and specifically Disney's prettifying bullshit. So why THE FUCK is this new art style mimicking Pixar/Disney.) I feel like part of the movies charms was that people looked human and a little gritty, why are they squishy and clean? How the fuck are you gonna hide clever adult jokes behind these Pixar looking motherfuckers.

-Disregarded Fergus/Farkle/Felicia? (How the fuck you gonna claim it's the next movie in a series and just toss out major characters?)

These movies have since childhood been my comfort movies - specifically because they pushed against the grain and expectations of what a fairytale is, and because the humor worked for adults and kids. Why ruin something that worked so well?

My redesign of Felicia! This one was a little harder since we don't really know what she's like as a character, but I wanted to up both the punk aesthetic and the fantasy vibes.

The biggest issue to me was the hair, it feels too outdated-but-modern to me, so I gave it a little whimsical uneven trim so the balayage is gone but there's still a teeny hint of brightness in the ends, and the short cut helps to further differentiate her visually from Fiona.

I also wanted the piercings and makeup to pop a little more. I feel like the nose ring is a little overdone so I gave her one earring and some snake bites (which I feel like is kind of a dark fantasy kinda name lol) and there's no way a girlie with that dark lipstick wouldn't also have at least a little eye makeup on.

Last but not least the outfit, I feel like there's just nothing there in the original. I like the texture or glitter, whatever it is, but unfortunately I wasn't able to replicate it with my limited tools. Also I know it's her arm in the way of the original shirt and not her midriff, but I wanted to show the full top I gave her. It's kinda like casual peasant pre-transformation princess, so we know it's fantasy but it's also breathable and easy to move in.

If we're getting the stereotypical teen rebellion story a lot of people are speculating on, I could see her dressing down like this to sneak out of the castle and pretend she's not a princess.

unpopular opinion: Shrek redesign isn't THAT bad. Obviously I would choose the old Shrek over this anyday but atleast he's still somewhat recognisable.

My only problem is that by putting his eyes closer together, it seems like they are trying to make him less ugly. Thereby, you know, forgetting the whole point of the movies in the first place?

Pinocchio and Lee (or the shoemakers elf) belong to Shrek.

Romeo/Candlewick and the fairy of death belong to me.

The designs are a mix of cannon and fan made for the cannon characters.

Here's what I'm thinking: both Princesses came to the ball in their best historically inspired dresses with their grand skirts and everything, but the rest of the time they are rocking their casual outfits: Princess Charming wearing her mini-skirt-like tunic, and Princess Shrek wearing her little pants and a shirt with a vest over it.

Hey y’all, this is pretty random but I felt heavily compelled to try my hand at a paint-over edit of a screenshot from the Shrek 5 teaser because I cannot stress enough how disappointed I was to see that they weren’t taking from the PIBTLW art style like at all,,, (like whyyy it was right thereeeee— 😭) so here’s my attempt to mimic that style as best as I could skks~ (+ some light redesign-ing & a bit of facial reconstruction for a few of these guys too bc I’m sorry that is NOT Shrek,,)

So, I saw the Shrek 5 Trailer and made a little bit of a character Redesign!

First off, this was only for fun, no hate what so ever. In order not to really judge it, because we've only really seen the design, I wanted to alter it a bit to really see how much different they were.

And a lot of people have mixed feelings on the designs, most are saying it's not that bad, some are really hoping the trailer was a Joke.

But I saw this as an opportunity to study the designs and try to improve them to fit current graphics and with the old designs. This honestly was a lot of fun! Also, felicia's eye color was a problem for a lot of people, so I decided to make two different versions for people to see.

Quick edit redesign of Fiona! I don't hate the art style but I do hate that she has a completely different nose and head shape, looks the same age as her daughter, and wears a deflated unfinished looking dress. 😔 The first is my attempt at an aged up version, the second is young but just getting the facial features. 💚

Something that annoys me is people using ugly sonic being redesigned duu to the mass ourcry as a reason to bully companies into redesigning minor changes that most people won't care about

Take shrek from shrek 5 while the design is definitely worse than the orignnal it's recognisable as shrek and is still nit bad enough that general audiences will really care about ot

What everyone is forgetting is that ugly sonic was just so horrible that even general audiences who don't give a focus about sonic were complaining about how bad the design was and how it only had a vaguely similar design, sega(who probably have the power to make paramount redesign sonic) included

Tl:dr bullying paramount into redesigning sonic only worked bwcause the original sonic design was just so bad that nobody liked it

Is my au for this silly I made a female version due to me viewing him as a trans ftm.

For the girl design: S(he) is right now 10 takes place before Shrek 1.I gave Pinocchio a white top with puff sleeves and a blue suspenders like dress I also gave (he)r white gloves and socks with a yellow bow along with long brown hair.

For the boy design: He is right now 18 and takes place after Shrek 4.I gave him a white blouse with blue suspenders and I gave him black socks and gloves to contrast it with the shirt.I gave him a red bow on his shirt hat and back and to finish it off his iconic yellow hat.I gave him one broken eye because his stories aren’t the safest so I imagine someone punching him in the face making a whole with the cracks.

And those are my redesigns now guess who is the mysterious character I will draw next.

Some lore: In this au He is immortal because he was cusred by the fairy godmother (the one in Shrek 2) because his “dad” refused to pay full price.So he now has many foes above and under the Earth who are trying to get him for many reasons (ex:bounty,exploitation,protection,fame,love,food,money and more.)He has a fairy willing to help him and a conscience who isn’t actually as good as he think he is (a change from past conscience and now last wish conscience) more friends to come and death hates him shoo- but soon learns to care for him and is like an uncle figure.Many adventures with other fairytale characters (helping the pied Piper,dancing with the shoemaker,escaping jack Horner and more) as well as way more trauma for him.What’s not to love.
