whew, i’m sorry but i have to say it. polyamory is an actual relationship dynamic, it’s not a tool to fix ship wars. shipping spaces are made for specific ships, the whole “put them all into a polycouple” thing will never work. it’s not functional or sensible. it forces unwanted ships into other people’s spaces. spideypool spaces should be for spideypool. poolverine spaces should be for poolverine. if you mix the two, the only thing that will happen is that it will cause more shipping wars.

not everyone is enclined to multiship, even though i am personally a multishipper, it does not mean i like every single ship, i still am allowed to have personal preferences.

please keep poolverine out of spideypool spaces and please keep spideypool out of poolverine spaces. if you truly want these three to be some sort of throuple then at least have authentic intentions and nuance behind why instead of doing it so mindlessly. only then is it at least fun for everyone. going into poolverine and seeing “what about spideypool?” is just as annoying as going into spideypool spaces and seeing “replace him with wolverine!” stop it.

the “he has two hands thing” is starting to annoy me tremendously. this is not the take you think it is. i know someone’s gonna read this and be like “let people have fun!” yes, that’s literally what i’m saying, let EVERYONE have fun. be mindful of other people.

A lil something for my fellow BBC Merlin fans out there: imagine a fic written from the POV of Cedric from the Curse of Cornelius Sigan episode…

As a thief, Cedric is willing to go to any lengths to get his hands on valuable riches. So when he has to infiltrate the castle and gain Prince Arthur’s trust, so be it.

He manages to get under Arthur’s wing by humiliating the Prince’s servant, Merlin. It’s easy enough; the boy's an absolute moron. But it amazes Cedric that, even in the boy's absence, the Prince will not stop talking about him.

Granted, it's mostly insults, but it gets old nonetheless. With the Prince, it's always, “Merlin this," and "Merlin that." Cedric can't wait to get his hands on the key to the tomb so he can pillage the treasure and get out of Camelot.

Finally, Cedric sees his plan coming together when he stages an accident in the stables and blames it on Merlin. He suggests to the angry Prince that, "Merlin’s tired." He wasn’t confident about this part, but somehow, it convinced Arthur to give Merlin the day off.

With the oddly perceptive boy out of the way, Cedric is granted the position of Arthur’s manservant for the rest of the day. This is perfect, considering Cedric’s plan is going along nicely, but there's a downside; now, he has to listen to even more Merlin talk.

"I don't see why he can't just take care of himself. It’s a basic human function," Arthur grumbles as Cedric serves him dinner.

"I mean, is it really that difficult to get a full night's sleep?" the Prince mutters from the bath while Cedric waits patiently for orders.

"And don't even get me started on his personal hygiene!" Arthur groans as he gets ready for bed. "I mean, really! Is he so exhausted that he can't even spare a few minutes to bathe?"

"Yes, my lord," Cedric repeats for the billionth time. He cannot wait until he never has to say those words again. Will this royal prat of a Prince ever shut up about his servant? It’s just strange—they’re strange.

Arthur heaves a sigh, plucking his keys off his waist and tucking them into his bedside drawer, mumbling something about incompetence. To Cedric, he was beginning to sound like an irritated housewife.

It isn’t long before Arthur’s grumbles are replaced with snores, and Cedric launches to action. He plucks the keys from the bedside drawer and creeps toward the door, but not before staring down at the unconscious Prince. Considering how easy it had been for Cedric to pull this off, Prince Arthur doesn’t seem like a very capable ruler. If he can’t even keep his keys safe, how can he protect an entire kingdom?

Although, as Arthur rolls over and murmurs an all-too familiar name in his sleep, Cedric considers the importance of a lowly servant. It’s a position of great trust (which is probably why Arthur didn’t think twice about falling asleep with a stranger in his room). A person this close to the Prince during his personal moments is expected to assist in the mundane—like making sure his belongings are kept safe while he sleeps, for example.

Cedric allows that, given the treatment Prince Arthur is used to, the man might not expect betrayal from his servant.

Cedric thinks about the Prince’s real servant, doing who-knows-what after that stables incident. Merlin had caught onto him unusually quickly. Normally, Cedric has a few days before anyone suspects him.

It’s odd, the close attention Merlin paid—not just to Cedric, but to Arthur. Almost as though he wishes to protect him, but how could a servant protect the strongest knight in Camelot?

The boy had seemed a bit too devoted to his Prince… Cedric wonders what that’s all about.

Well, no matter now. It’s time to get rich.

Cedric stalks out of the room.

Ok so talking about Arcane spoilers on rewatch for my fic I'm working on ~under the cut~

One of the tragedies of Arcane that I want to unpack is the "too little, too late" aspect. The biggest example of this was the council deciding to free Zaun while all the domino pieces were already falling from their ignorance, neglect and parasitic relationship with the city.

If they had even called for independence the day before, the attach wouldn't have happened. But because of their delay and inaction, it resulted in the council getting blown up and all the effects that spiraled from there.

LIKEWISE.

Rewatching it- on my first watch through like, I love Mel, she is my fav alongside Viktor right? But I was leaning towards being a purely Jayvik shipper since Jayce chose Viktor. I wanted Mel to have someone who would choose HER.

But on rewatch it's the scene on the council where she is fighting to keep Jayce's promise to Viktor alive, the look of betrayal and pain in her face when she sees the hextech weapons- hoollly shit.

And like. Original arcane timeline and how things worked out, def Jayvik. But if she had opened up and allowed the intimacy and closeness sooner with Jayce, if she had known sooner how important Viktor was to him and had developed a relationship with Viktor outside of purely seeing him as a wise investment-

It makes me wonder how many things might have changed.

The tragedy of Mel in Arcane is how due to being the fox, and not allowing anyone to truly get close and know her on an intimate level, she was forced to become the wolf and lost the man she loved (and who loved her, but by the time she started fully reaching back Viktor was dying and Jayce was spiraling and- excuse me I need a moment to cry for my girl).

She girlbossed too close too the sun and it cost her SO MUCH.

Also my read is Mel only had a business relationship with Viktor since he was like, very rarely on the politics side. So she never really got the chance to know him.

Now what would happen in an alt timeline where our Jayce and Viktor get shunted into the past and cause a butterfly affect maybe the tragedy can be averted for the baby versions of Jayce, Mel and Viktor maybe not I am FURIOUSLY WRITING.

Anyway, sometimes I like to pick out random moments like this from the donghua and think of Sunshot Campaign chengzhan spending what seems to be like months in this secluded fortress to hold back the Wen forces. Now and then, they meet up on this lookout post to have heartfelt exposition talks three feet apart.

If words turn just a little more heated, Lan Zhan could back away, quiet and cold, turn to leave into the shadowy part, and Jiang Cheng could follow, agitated and snarling, and slam him right against the wall.

I just finished MAG 199 for the first time and I have a couple of notes

SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

•Double it and give it to the next reality

•Reminds me of the time in Love Death and Robots in “Bad Traveling” when the protagonist took a vote and everyone did the selfish, inherently human decision

•Always thought the tapes were Jon’s own powers, not the eye, not the web, but his own manifestation/developing power of some greater power than any others. I do not know whether I would have liked this more or less than what has happened so far

•Almost all of the relationships in the series either ended badly, ended in death or just didn’t have the chemistry (Jon and Martin) there is one sole exception, Georgie and Melonie, and honestly, glad for them

•Really upset they killed a lot of the avatars, I like the things that go bump in the night and the spookiness of it all, like killing off your main cast in a sequel for little gain

Excited to listen to the finally tomorrow and see what the climax of our beloved hero’s story will be.
