i Adore your fake marriage ice and flame art!! I was wondering, what reference/insp did you use for their outfits??

hello i am SO sorry I'm so late to this unfortunately uni got in the way BUT here's an in depth thread on the costume design of this piece and all the little details and references you might have missed <3

starting off, I wanted it to feel like a wedding picture of two people from different cultures, and they're not only marrying each other but so are their aesthetics. the costumes are very distinctive while also being complementary to each other.

yennefer’s dress is very much Indian sari inspired, while jaskier’s main influence comes from the Detva region of Slovakia. I wanted these costumes to be clearly influenced by traditional clothing while being something they would also wear in universe.

yennefer’s gown while being inspired by traditional saris is also inspired by Yves Saint Laurent and Elsa Schiaparelli take’s on saris as well as this Simone Ashley's look (also the fabric is supposed to be a two-tone taffeta, so I hope that reads well enough)

jaskier's Detva inspired look works so perfectly in universe with his s1 doublets in my opinion. His costume is also inspired by other slavic folk clothing, for example his pants are mostly inspired by the polish mountain style clothing from the Zakopane region.

yennefer's also wearing alta dye on her fingers, which women adorn their fingers with for marriage ceremonies in the Bengali culture. The red dye also matches jaskier's red doublet and the dark blue flowers on jaskier's vest match yennefer's dress. like I mentioned before they're wearing wedding rings with gemstones that match each other's eye color <3 yennefer's wearing bangles, a maangtika and a nath, while jaskier's sporting the single pearl earring that I always draw him in and his other neckless are under his shirt

with all the myths and rumors surrounding witchers and how witchers are created (such that, they can reuse body parts and frankenstein new witchers together… by the way, any geralt–frankenstein’s monster parallels, anybody…)

i just gotta say, seeing preston holt and geralt riding side by side and handling some business together in the beginning of crossroads of ravens probably did not help any of these rumors, did they.

the people of kaedwen knowing holt, and then one day next to him appears something like a carbon-copy, white-haired witcher with a streak of sarcasm and stubborness.

it was just preston holt, who was active once, but then disappeared and wasn’t around for a while, and then all of a sudden he re-appears and, “oh fuck there’s another one.” and knowing holt never married and only ever had sex with prostitutes, i imagine the peasants conjuring up some kind of witcher mitosis in their minds

The emotional gut-punch that is A Shard of Ice (short story in Sword of Destiny in the Witcher/Wiedźmin book series), upon re-reading it after many years away from the series, on a day where I need to stay on task and be emotionally stable. Suppose it's better than trying to read it tomorrow when I have to concentrate on work. 😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺

I know Sapkowski wasn't intending any allegory on autism (although it surely is an allegory for people being cruel to those deemed the "other"), but the "you have no capability to feel human emotions no matter what you think" allegations levied at Geralt all the time, repeatedly, to the point where he feels utterly defeated and even internalizes them to a degree despite knowing that he DOES feel a full range of emotions, plus what actually happens in the end (which I won't spoil) hit home in the worst way today.

i was not able to find much here that hasn't been burned to ashes, but i was able to salvage a few weapons, some money, sensei's teapot, and by some miracle our gaming system, though i cannot say the same for the television.

i am going to bring these back to the ship now, and see what i can do about making it a little bit more comfortable there.

Metal Sonic is not often sent to retrieve badniks. They are an unending force, mass-manufactured to be endlessly used by their creator. Metal understands this of himself, too--He is not the only him that has ever existed. However, his current model is the one still intact because it is the superior one. A perfect rival to Sonic, a trusted tool for Eggman to use to help shape a new world, and a too-sharp sword wielded against their enemies. Today, however, he is following a signal. What he finds is far from what he was told to expect: Another him.

Metal Sonic doesn't have the largest capacity for positive emotions. Negative ones, on the other hand, are easy for him to access. As this older model comes into view, its signal proving itself to nearly match his own, he feels...Angry. There can be only one Sonic. There are already two because of his double's refusal to submit. Anymore is far too many. If the unit refuses to comply with Metal's directive of capture and deliver, well. A show of force may be necessary.

That doesn't bother Metal in the slightest. To show his capability and crush any trying to be Sonic is exciting for him. He fires his engines, heat blasting from his chest as he races to the ground to face the copy head-on, bell-like beeps ringing out as a warning: ">> Stand down and prepare for removal as required via Eggtech Assemble and Reservice Protocol." Badniks are meant to come when called. Clearly this one is somehow refusing commands. Metal Sonic has been guilty of rebellious coding himself, but it was removed and he is glad for it. If the unit won't see reason, he will simply have to help it in the same way, won't he? Or destroy it.

Of my Disney's Aladdin AU called "The Arabian Hierarchies" and with my selfship lore!

Blizzard is the youngest Seraphim angel amongst a group known as "The Eight Heavenly Advisors". The two I drew are the cream yellow with the candle on his head being Advisor of Humility and the light green one wearing round glasses being the Advisor of Diligence. As said by the seven, they were right about what the Sultan thinks of her skills and they now respect her.

And now to context of Blizzard with the two last pictures;

Blizzard has a fear of being married(to a suitor that is), she feels worried to accept this through her life in the palace. Blizzard's eyes change blue because she is going through her cobra phases (this of from the second film, when Jafar had her in his control and replaced Abis Mal with her. This however still happens throughout the TV series and the third film). Jafar sees her fear as a way to manipulate her, his manipulation proceeds to have himself "help" Blizzard overcome that fear by convincing her to marry him instead of a suitor.

When Jafar is now exposed for his actions of controlling the Sultan from Aladdin(or Prince Ali). Blizzard tries to defend him but worries herself as that can also lead her to be exposed for aiding his plans. The seven advisors get her out of this, and they together try to speak with her about leaving Jafar. But that of which leads her to get upset. All throughout, she could never understand from them that he only thinks about his plans, not her.

During her meeting with Nasira. Jasmine sees her managing to aid her plan to bring her brother back. But this time Blizzard did manage to help her friends but worries of losing her trust to Nasira.
