I like to imagine Mobei about the au with og!qinghua and qing-two-a (badum tss) is just the "Holy shit two cakes" thing. This is his snake qinghua and this is his rat qinghua. They're both nasty little things but one of them is venomous so you have to be careful with that one. Either way, he has two of them and you will not separate him from them.
YES YES YES HE HAS TWO SHANG QINGHUA'S!!! AND HE'S IN LOVE WITH BOTH!!!!
Tumblr media
One is crying and sweating, and the other is plotting and scheming, but they both steal his heart.

sssvs where og!shang qinghua and our bbg shang qinghua are born as twins due to a system error. og!shang qinghua grows up with a cowardly, squeamish, and incredibly intelligent younger brother (who may possibly be seen as a seer by og) and gets creepily attached. our shang qinghua grows up with an older brother who is sneaky, cruel, and also incredibly intelligent. through a series of events, og!shang qinghua becomes the peak lord (no punishment from the system- it sees them as one entity) and our shang qinghua is kept safe in the basement by his crazy brother as some sort of stay-at-home seer.

Shang Qinghua: Today marks the anniversary of when we lost our dear Peak Lord Shen.
Shen Qingqiu, just waking up in his plant body: *Muffled angry screaming*
Shang Qinghua: Sometimes I can still hear his voice.

"…" Shang Qinghua felt there was no way to keep conversing with him.
He's lost his memory. He definitely cultivated into qi deviation and lost his memory. For this scene of friendly elder and respectful younger, harmonious fraternal love between comrades to appear between Shen Qingqiu and Liu Qingge——oh heavens, maybe in a few days, Shen Qingqiu and Luo Binghe would be able to strike up some flirtatious banter!
Just after this frightful scene flashed through his mind, a white shadow darted over. Something sticky suddenly threw itself into Shen Qingqiu's arms.
That softened lump called, "Shizun!"
Shen Qingqiu was nearly knocked over face-up. Tilting and grabbing onto a thick bamboo stalk, he finally steadied his footing, seeing Shang Qinghua detachedly observing the scene, expressionless.
You can't fault Shang Qinghua for his expression freezing up. Seeing that little lady-killer embryo, his pair of arms encircling Shen Qingqiu's waist like steel hoops, a call of "Bing-ge" nearly escaped Shang Qinghua's mouth!

I’ve grown to appreciate the aus where Shen Yuan enters the story as “Shen Yuan” - same name, probably similar face, generally able to interact with PIDW as himself and change the story through his added presence. I like the sense of “if only you’d been here, things might have been better the first time around” of it all.
And I was thinking, it’s a funny coincidence in that scenario that someone named Shen Yuan gets put into… another Shen Yuan. What are the chances? What a weird twist of fate that Airplane would pick out the name that his most dedicated critic could slip into seamlessly.
What about a version where it’s not coincidence at all?
Airplane goes to school with a kid named Shen Yuan. He’s prickly and hard to approach and a little intense, but Airplane is persistent. In fairness, Airplane is relentless - and maybe it’s a good thing that they end up being friends, because they’re a little too much for anyone else to handle. They balance each other out. They’re the “weird kids” in class and they’re okay with that, because even when they don’t have any words for it, they know they’re not like their classmates, not really. That’s okay; they don’t want to be.
Recesses and breaks are consumed with the elaborate stories that Airplane wants to tell, and all the holes Shen Yuan pokes into them. It’s not mean-spirited, though, even though Shen Yuan isn’t the kind to temper his words. It’s passionate. He cares about those stories the way Airplane cares about them, and it can’t be mistaken for anything else when they lean together conspiratorially across the lunchroom table. They’ve both got notebooks filled with details and characters and monsters. Shen Yuan’s practically got a whole bestiary sketched out in wobbly childhood attempts at art, entries fervently scrawled beside them. Airplane prattles out plots nonstop, always with the promise of shining eyes and being asked “what happens next?”
They come up with a whole world together. Airplane’s going to write about it someday. Shen Yuan is going to read every word.
Shen Yuan misses school. Shen Yuan starts missing school a lot.
Airplane goes to the hospital room instead. He doesn’t think to worry, because Shen Yuan is okay - that’s what he says. He looks okay, and he’s a kid, and it doesn’t feel real that anything bad should happen to a kid. He doesn’t think to worry. He doesn’t think to say goodbye.
It’s one of the older Shen brothers who catches him on the way up to the room one day, in the hallway just outside - snaps at him to go the fuck home, and when Airplane hesitates, pushes him into the elevator and tells him not to come back. “Tells” is a generous way to describe the way the words come out - a growl, a hiss, the sound an animal would make when a hand got too close to a wound.
(It’s not fair to name a villain after him, even if the name never really comes up in the story. He wasn’t trying to be mean. He’d lost a brother minutes before, and he was getting his brother’s friend out of the way so he didn’t have to… see. It isn’t fair, but then, none of it is fair.)
Death feels very real after that.
The notebooks get shoved into a closet, and it’s not until Airplane’s moving out and one falls on him from a high shelf that he thinks about it again. He’s written things, lots of things, but nothing as ambitious as this - nothing as important. It could be good, he considers. He’d promised. Shen Yuan wanted to read it.
The problem was that no one else does, not for a long time, not until Airplane has whittled himself and his art into a corner and into such an unfamiliar shape that he has to wonder how it’s still his own face he sees in the mirror. He has to eat. He has to pay rent. Shen Yuan would yell at him, but Shen Yuan isn’t there to yell at him, and who cares. Who cares if it could have been better? The people who actually are here love it, and it’s paying his bills, and sometimes stories don’t go the way they’re supposed to and the world is fucking unfair. It doesn’t matter.
(It does. But he shoves that thought away along with styrofoam cups and soda bottles to the bottom of a garbage bag.)
Authors are not gods and their power is limited, but Airplane exercises just a sliver of what he’s been granted and gifts an inconsequential sort of immortality. He thinks about making him a rogue cultivator, maybe the kind that goes around documenting beasts and compiling his findings. He thinks about making him someone too powerful for death to touch, or too important to threaten, but when Airplane looks at the world he crafted and everything that’s become of it, it feels like the kindest thing he can do for Shen Yuan is a childhood where he’s loved, and a death that’s peaceful. What does it say about that world, that he’d kill off his best friend too early again instead of making him live there?
(The best writing he ever does is the only, shining moment of humanity that his scum villain ever displays: a lament about death that comes too early, about a brother gone too soon. The commenters praise him. The commenters flatter over how real the emotions feel. The commenters don’t get any response from Airplane on that chapter.)
Death is incredibly real when it comes for him too early, too, still hovering over his keyboard with the story technically finished and incredibly incomplete. Airplane could tell himself that’s because the written version can never be the version in the writer’s head, always shifting and with every possibility still on the table, but he knows better than that. The System knows better than that, with its condescending message about “improving” his writing and “closing plot holes” and “achieving his original vision”...
…and he’s a child again. He’s a child in his own story, he’s Shang Qinghua now without the benefit yet of a peak or cultivation or anything, and maybe he’s a little bitter, and a little scared, and…
And Shen Yuan - with longer hair, with robes, with a couple of older kids watching him from across the street, but undeniably the prickly little boy who used to sit down imperiously across from him and tell him everything that was wrong with the chuck of writing that had been handed to him last period, but with that smile that said he was only invested because he knew it could be better and they were going to make it better - marches up to him with a fire in his eyes and a frown that warns of a coming tirade.
“You told it wrong,” is the first thing he says.
Shang Qinghua wants to ask how him how he’s here, how this is possible, or maybe laugh because, yeah - yeah, Shen Yuan has no goddamn idea how wrong he got absolutely everything.
(Shang Qinghua wants to say “I missed you” and “why did you leave so soon” but he’s here now. He’s right here.)
“I know,” he says instead. “I’m sorry. It all kind of… spiraled out of control.”
Shen Yuan frowns, but then it dissipates the way it always does, and his eyes shine with ideas the way they always used to. “That’s okay,” he relents, grabbing for his hand. “We’ll fix it. We’ll make it what it was supposed to be.”

What if Shen Yuan was transmigrated into Shang Yuan, youngest son in the merchant Shang family and Shang Qinghua's little brother.
At first Shang Qinghua doesn't put much thought into it. He never did write much of a backstory for the other peak lords, so it makes sense the world has kind of just, written itself? Shang Yuan is several years younger anyways (I'm thinking 7-10 years) so it's not like he has a lot in common with him either. Shang Qinghua even joined CQM when he was barely out of toddlerhood. Shang Qinghua was fully prepared to just slowly fade out of sight and mind in his new family, just like he had in his old one.
Except this kid just really hates his guts? He gets letters regularly from his family, telling him how a-Yuan has been asking about him. But every time he visits the brat just shouts and kicks him around. All out of sight of their parents so he can't even go and complain to them! In their eyes Shang Yuan is their perfect little angel.
Honestly, Shang Qinghua isn't even that surprised the original goods turned into a villain if this was how he grew up. And oops, did he say that out loud? Shang Qinghua peeks down at the rigid brat he's holding under his arm in an attempt to stop him from trying to beat him up. With big eyes the kid turns his head up and whispers "you're a transmigrator too?".
From that day on Shang Qinghua can't help but feel a little bit less lonely, and maybe even a little happy. Who would have thought his number 1 anti fan would transmigrate into his didi! They start writing letters, both complaining about the system, and Shang Qinghua about the sect and his martial siblings. When he starts working for Mobei-jun he tells Shang Yuan everything about it. He even has a reason to go back and visit his family!
Shang Qinhua quickly accepts his responsibility as gege. Helping (or trying to) his little didi grow up to a nice young man and giving tips when Shang Yuan starts cultivating as well. And despite Yuan-di's tsundere behavior, Shang Qinghua knows he has his back as well.
In his own badly written stallion novel, Shang Qinghua finally finds the family he didn't have in the real world.
Now as for pairings. Bingyuan would be hilarious just because I want Shang Qinghua to ask, with a shit eating grin, how long Shang Yuan has been coveting his own nephew. And then for Shang Yuan to try and beat the shit out of him for it.
Jiuyuan would also be an interesting pairing (it can always be a jiuyuan if you're brave enough). Shang Qinghua knows his scum villain is misunderstood and not as bad as the book and rumors portrays him to be. But also he knows Shen Jiu is at least a dozen traumas in a trenchcoat. Does it really have to be his didi helping Shen Jiu deal with all of that? Sure Shang Yuan doesn't seem to mind, but Shang Qinghua also knows his didi makes some really stupid choices if you take your eyes off him. But also he's too much of a coward to say anything to Shen Jiu's face.
Hm, better to keep an eye on that from a distance.

If I have a coin for every time I watch a movie about 'a Chinese family that has a dickhead mafia boss kinda dads who only cares and hungers for insurmountable power and makes his oldest son in an assassin by torturing him mentally and physically and has mothers that are either estranged or dead, where after an assassination attempt at the older sibling, they run halfway across the world to find and protect their younger sibling from the impending threat but also has an estranged relationship with them because they haven't seen each other in years and were separated in the formative years yet they love and remember each other enough that they would do anything for each other and get beaten up (by them/for them) even though they only met just few minutes ago after years of separation, and they again slowly warm up to each other and feel guilty for each other's pain even though they weren't the one that was to be blamed for the suffering they went through and the actual culprit were their parents, and have younger siblings that are sweet sinnamon rolls that can and will kill you if provoked the wrong way and the older son is a literal personification of a puppy that has been kicked many times with three big truck full of daddy issues (although he too will kill you if you threaten to take away his family) but in reality he wants to do nothing with power and just wants to live a very mediocre life and live with his younger sibling (and mom) but the world is having none of it, so he goes to a few days of existential crisis and then rediscover himself and defeats his dad (even though he still loves him) with the power of Michelle Yeoh, Chinese culture and traditions, younger siblings that are little shits, and melodrama by his side' then I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
So the moral of the story is that Michelle Yeoh is always going to win, regardless of how powerful you are.

the idea came to me in a migraine induced dream but now im obsessed with the concept of a mu qingfang who knew the abuse bunhe was going through at the hands of og!shen qingqiu/shen jiu and did his best to treat the kid whenever he could (and bring his concerns to zhangmen shixiong, which were obviously very much ignored) and his constant worry over the situation means that when the qi deviation happens he is suspicious of shen qingqiu’s changes for all different reasons and very much protective of luo binghe -who is a sweet child and an earnest disciple who seems to always find the most incredible medicinal herbs to bring to his mu shishu as thanks for the care bestowed upon him- which means that when the whole shen qingqiu dying thing happens instead of bad mouthing luo binghe or fighting him at every chance he does his best to come over and keep an eye on things to try and help him and make sure luo binghe won’t kill himself trying to bring shen qingqiu back because he remembers that earnest kid and he’s witnessed luo binghe’s devotion to this shen qingqiu first hand and knows there is no way that the kid who cried when ning yingying found a bird with a broken wing and begged mu qingfang to fix it and the kid that would always borrow medical texts and try to find new herb combinations as if it was a game between him and qian cao disciples is actually doing anything nefarious to shen qingqiu’s corpse.
anyways in this essay i will-
#listen#binghe needs to have more people in his corner#and for some reason i have imprinted on mqf#so you get cool healer uncle#who probably smoked weed with binghe and made him promise to keep quiet#lbh and mqf bonding activity was teaching lbh to properly roll joints#anyways mqf understanding that the rituals are intricate and lqg doesn’t have any other way of coping with his grief#but the first time lqg injures lbh almost to death in a fight they get into a screaming match so violent#that no bai zhan discipline will look at him in the face without going pale for the next month#that is his nephew! who found several thought-to-be-extinct herbs for him!#also him telling sqq that lbh might have forgotten what he did but mqf certainly didn’t#a healer never forgets the wounds they heal#and sqq is just like yeah brother me neither :(#mqf is going to therapy these idiots so fucking hard#lbh also keeps trying to matchmake him with some nice demons in his court like shamelessly trying to poach his mu shishu#also he and shang qinghua are the only ones who still get the full shishu treatment#except lbh kinda bullies sqh a little for the virtue of the whole mbj situation#(hes never gonna let them live that down)#anyways it’s whatever at first but at one poont years in the future it does become a point of contempt with the other peak lords#nothing can take away from me that when bored they will squabble like children#such is the way of bored adults#i have rambled enough so normal tags now#svsss#svsss writing#luo binghe#shen qingqiu#mu qingfang#bingqiu#svsss au

Wait guys so Airplane's parents started new families after their divorce right. So what if Airplane has a bunch of younger half sisters that he never met. And what if those sisters were prolific PIDW yaoi fanfic authors

Cumplane Shenanigans
Little silly Cumplane Drabble I have in my docs with SY trying to threaten the sect just because he wants his husband home for their anniversary
Feat: disapproving brother and brother in law SJ and YQY, confused/intimidated peak lords watching all of this happen, Shen brothers
Words:777
The doors of the meeting hall dramatically slammed open, a rather pretty man wielding a sword in hand.
“Sect leader Yue Qingyuan! I demand you give me my husband back!” The man pointed the weapon at the table, obviously agitated over something.
Everyone turned to look at him, silence sweeping over the room. There were slight glances, looking at the strange man, then the sect leader, then back at the man.
“….Xiao-Yuan?” The man finally spoke, tilting his head in confusion for a moment.
“Yea yea, that’s me.” The man allowed his sword to dissipate, crossing the room and folding his arms over on another “not important though! I would like my husband to return for our anniversary. Cang Qiong Sect overworks him far too much.”
“Apologies, but I’m not aware of anyone being marri-” the sect leader starting, cut short by the snap of a fan.
“Shen. Yuan. You have not seen either of us for years, though I’m sure you knew where we were this whole time, only to complain about a husband? Whomst did you bow to at your wedding?!” Shen Qingqiu started, getting out of his seat and grabbing the man’s cheek. “Have you no shame?! Is there not more important things to worry about? How dare you storm in here so disrespectfully, during a meeting no less!” He chastised, starting to bicker with him.
As the two stood next to each other the other peak lords noted how alike they were. Same shade of ebony hair, pale jade skin and bejeweled green eyes. The both of them starting to argue a bit quieter as they delve into new topics. At some point the most people could see was a blur of hands as they smacked the other away. The An Ding peak lord sighed, standing up from his seat.
“A-Yuan.” The man put a hand on the small of the newcomer’s back, trying to save the brothers fight. “I thought I told you I’d be heading home soon. There’s no need to try and fight the sect leader.” Shang Qinghua gave a shaky smile, purposefully ignoring the glare from the older Shen.
“You’re married to An Ding peak lord, Shang Qinghua?” Shen Qingqiu asked, crossing his arms.
“Yes we have been for some-“ the man started, quickly being cut off
“Absolutely not.” Both Yue Qingyuan and Shen Qingqiu started, glaring down at the smaller peak lord.
“What do you mean absolutely not?!?” Shen Yuan shrieked, standing in front of his husband protectively, brows furrowed.
“I’m not letting my didi marry him. What do you even see in him?!” The Qing Jing peak lord glared down, his fan snapping open and hiding his face.
“Plenty! He has been there for me for years! I had gone to you once and you sent me away! For goodness sake you only start to act like a brother when I do something you don’t approve of.”
“I understand I made a mistake but why him?!”
“Jiu-Ge, I for one thought you’d understand liking pathetic men.” Shen Yuan sighed, looking past his brother to Yue Qingyuan. “Speaking of which, Peak Lord Yue, what is the matter with my choice of husband?”
“Ahem… Peak Lord Shang is just.. well..” the man stammered, avoiding eye contact.
“Maybe don’t try to insult me to my face.” Shang Qinghua sighed, leaning onto his husband. Shen Yuan looked over to him, a hand raising to hold the man’s cheek.
“Ah, apologies my dear.” The younger Shen sighed, shaking his head. “I’m just peeved that my husband has been overworked and my brother has finally decided that my life is his business again.”
“I understand, you looked cool yelling at him.” Shang Qinghua complimented, smiling softly. He was able to ignore the other peak lord’s whispers, only having eyes for his spouse.
“Ahem- well I suppose you should get going to celebrate another year of your marriage.” The sect leader coughed into his fist, awkwardly trying to break up this whole ordeal.
“Thank you for your understanding. I’ll return another time.” Shen Yuan bowed, fist in palm as he showed his respect. He made his way out of the meeting hall, Shang Qinghua still standing there for a moment.
“Shen Qingqiu.” The An Ding peak lord addressed him, looking directly into his eyes. “Your brother makes a lovely little wife.” He smiled, running after his spouse. The Qing Jing peak lord stood there for a moment, snapping his fan closed against his hand.
“SHANG. QING. HUA. Stay away from my brother you bastard!” Shen Qingqiu shouted out after them, too late as they both disappeared with the help of a teleportation talisman.
