I know that I am only a small fry and a drop in the ocean, but staying quiet about this feels very wrong to me considering that the internet is the whole reason I'm able to do what I do. I'm incredibly grateful for all the amazing human beings it has connected me to, and now this is threatened so I feel the need to share. Cable companies want to put an end to the rules that currently give us an open internet and the freedom to experience the internet without anyone controlling what we see. Net Neutrality is what prevents these internet service providers from slowing down service to the websites and apps we use, charging extra to access them, or even completely blocking them. If we lose net neutrality, it poses a threat to small and medium business owners, including independent artists that you have free and unfiltered access to. It can completely kill off the livelihood of millions of businesses and prevent future ones from emerging. I plan on logging out of everything on the 13th just incase it does get passed so that way it doesn't need paid hopefully.
