Hey american side of tumblr!
I'm not one for petitions usually but the US senate could have the chance this week to reverse Ajit Pai's reversal of Net Nuetrality! Now, even if signing this does nothing, it's only a few seconds of your time, but it is again only a few seconds! The petition is NOT on change dot org thankfully, but Fight for the Future and is available HERE

Honestly, I've just accepted that the fight for net neutrality is never going to end. The date for "The Day the Internet Dies" has been changed so often that It's kind of hard to get invested in reblogging the 9000th battle for the net link.

Yahoo: unsubscribes you to anything about net neutrality
Google: automatically subscribes you to info about net neutrality if you own a Google phone and gives you alerts about it

“Freedom of the press is guaranteed only to those who own one.” - A. J. Liebling
The Internet means we own one.  We ARE the publishers and writers.  Net neutrality protects our rights to the freedom to exchange ideas and creativity.  Do not let the communications corporations, the NSA, Yahoo, Facebook, Twitter or Youtube silence you!  YOU are the press!

Net neutrality
You guys, I can't stress this enough, IT'S NOT OVER YET! The repeal still needs to pass through congress so if we keep doing what we've been doing, (contacting congress) we can still save net neutrality.
But here's the thing, THIS IS AN ALL HANDS ON DECK SITUATION. I love you guys, I know you love the free internet, let's keep this island of misfit toys alive and kicking ❤️

Or you could email your representatives.
Thats cool to, just like, almost everything uses the Internet, and a ton of people would probably die if they lost it.
So we should try and keep it
You got about 3 days to help before the vote in the 14.
(I tagged as many fandoms I could off the top of my head, hope it can help)

Hey so I got this letter from my states representative Barbara Comstock and it is thanking me for contacting her and saying hey don't vote for the net neutrality repeal. Now this letter to be perfectly clear is just straight up bull shit and an insult to my intelligence which I know isn't something I overflow with but still. I knew this letter was bull as soon as I read the line " I am committed to ensuring the internet remains a level playing field.". I pretty much get told this sob story about how the poor internet providers (specifically the "small" ones) are losing so much money the way things are now and that they can't afford the resources to improve the infrastructure of the internet. Now this blatant bull shit annoyed me but what pisses me completely off is that this so called "representative of the people" claims that rural and low income areas have been hurt by how the internet is run now and would benefit more from the repeal. I don't know how she can say that they need internet to develope and thrive and then go on to defend it knowing full well that if repealed most of these people probably won't be able to afford internet after it all. So if your in the northern Virginia area like me please give her a call and continuously express your disagreement with her decision to repeal net neutrality which while not directly stated is pretty obvious to see from this letter.

Hey pals, I see a lot of concern about the articles being approved and the shock/horror everyone is going through. I am sorry and feel incredibly saddened by this. While I can only do so much, I want everyone to know that I’m free to talked to with this issue. I’ll try to help in anyway I can.
My discord is open to anyone ( muturals only please ), I’m happy to RP with you guys there or just chat. Feel free to send in a friend request.

Attention: They hear what you say through new tech. They tryna make us pay more for our net-speeds. Or whatever. Look. Dress in blacks, play the alleys, disable phone mics, and keep those VPNs frosty our snack kings and snack queens.

Does anyone else have a sense of foreboding because of article 13 being passed and net neutrality ending?
