thinkin about Xianglu calling himself the tenth king and claiming that he's Wukong's old friend (and enemy), because the tenth king is the one in charge of reincarnating souls and if he actually knew Wukong, then chances are he saw how much good the pilgrims did for the spicy murder monkey and wanted to make sure the newest lil powerhouse he was about to unleash onto the world was at least surrounded by good people ("it all would have happened anyway, you just wouldn't have had... i wanted more for you than just the path, the sacrifice, destiny.") and he specifically chose to wake MK when three reincarnations and an ancestor were all in one place like he really did try to give MK the best possible life he could knowing what the alternative for the Harbinger was

Anyone else out here feeling nostalgic for Rise of the Guardians/Guardians of Childhood? Just me? Well I'll just put these doodles I've done this month here anyways. I'm so incredibly normal about Sandy and Pitch (I am nothing if not a sucker for all the tropes they got goin on) 🥺

Honestly, I wasn't on Tumblr when the movie came out so I pretty much missed the height of the fandom, which kinda sucks considering how hard it is for me to find the art I wanna see nowadays.

Seriously tho, who's idea was it to make the ship names like that?? I get it, it's really cute, but how tf am I supposed to find any blacksand art nowadays when most of what shows up when I search for it is just pictures taken on beaches with black sand?????? Couldn't we have at least done like the Lego fandom and tacked on "shipping" at the end of the tags? Like "blacksandshipping" or "frostbiteshipping" etc etc for each ship? I'm gonna make it a tag since y'all didn't

I h/c their Dad as Mexican and their Mom as Black, so yeah basically lol

(I’m mixed so in my head most characters are also mixed yk)

My (current) race h/cs look like this:

-Johnny’s dad’s Italian and his mom’s Cherokee

-Dally’s Norwegian or German or something- he really doesn’t know or care, his family’s been in America for generations.

-The Curtises grandparents in their mom’s side were Irish immigrants, and their dad’s just vaguely white I guess. Maybe Scottish, idk. They might be Irish Catholic but idk much abt that so I’m leaving it there

-Two-Bit’s dad was Jewish and his mom is just vaguely white (my irl buddy named Keith is Jewish and acts a lot like Two-Bit, so I guess I subconsciously started headcannoning Two as Jewish also lol)

-Steve’s mom is part Chinese but he doesn’t actually know that. He thinks he’s white, maybe Italian or something ’cos he has darker features (i have to put my tiny Asian rep somewhere lol ok lemme have this) (This is also why I almost always draw Steve w/brown eyes when I think Tom Cruise’s are actually…hazel or smth??)

-Evie’s mom is Irish and her dad was Black, although she’s not sure where from cos he died in the Korean War (her last name’s “Peterson” tho as a reference to a character in Ferris Buller’s day off who I had a crush on in middle school lol)

-Sylvia is Filipino (I have drawn her actually I just haven’t shown it lol)

-Sandy is white, maybe French (I’m Italian so I have to be anti-France, you understand)

-The Socs are white, Marcia’s folks are from Spain tho

-I kinda like the Japanese American Paul Holden stuff I’ve seen around- dunno how realistic it is tho for someone Asian to be a SOC in Oklahoma in the 60s? So y’know my mental image of him shifts (not that y’all would know that since I’ve never drawn him)

-Shepards- yeah, no, Mexican and Black

Anyhow, that’s how I see ‘em rn, but y’know, it shifts and changes fairly often lol- none of it’s really set in stone, except for Evie maybe because I’ve made her mixed-race status an important part of my take on her character.

havers felt the same. havers 👏🏼 felt 👏🏼 the same. the way his face lit up when he saw his james across the room. after years of wondering, years of missing him. i can imagine him in the trenches of north africa/wherever else he went thinking about his james. he had to know that james came just for him, to see if he was alive, if after all the war and pain and bloodshed, if his anthony was alive. he loved him back. never knowing if he’d see him again but loving him back. and he saw him, one last time. and he took his last breath touching his hand. the man he loved, died on the floor while everyone looked on, silent. james’ last words to him were a declaration of his love that lasted a whole war. “i know” was all he could say, probably all he could think to say, as the man he loved died on the floor in front of him. in james’ last moments, he knew anthony felt the same. i can’t imagine how he must’ve felt, how his life went after that. but at least he knew. they knew. that their love would be everlasting. james would love him the rest of his life and death.

Ok…. Hear me out….

An au in which

Sandy stays with soda and says that the kid is his. It’s obvious after her kid is born that it isn’t his cause the baby is black and neither Sandy or soda are. But soda stays with her anyways… soda named her ocean, he said it was because the Sand and the ocean go together. Well now it’s years later, she’s around 6 or so I haven’t quite decided. Steve lives with the three as like a roommate basically. Well. Sandy is cheating. She doesn’t think anyone knows but hell even the kid knows. But they pretend they don’t cause soda likes to pretend he’s happy with her to get over the fact he wants Steve more than he wants Sandy. Him and Sandy got married right when they could legally but Sandy just calls him her ‘baby daddy’ and it genuinely breaks soda’s heart every single time she says it. Well…. Sandy’s been cheating even before Sandy was pregnant and it wasn’t a one time thing. And after the baby was around 3 years old and he’s know for around 2 years soda started hooking up with Steve to get over the fact of Sandy cheating on him and the fact that him and Steve aren’t together. It just kind of makes him feel worse since he feels bad. Steve knows this. And he’s always commenting about it to soda when they’re alone. He tells him to break up with her. To leave her. To be with him. But he doesn’t. And Steve just keeps on going. It makes soda want to break down, everytime he cries and hugs Steve asking him why his life couldn’t have gone different. Steve feels bad every time. But the cycle keeps going. On and on. Over and over. That’s the end.

If you could change Shameless storylines in a sort of "I'm the master puppeteer and I'm all knowing" kinda way, what would you change? And what would you put in place of those changes?

Example: Mickey not going to prison, since Noel is (contractually) staying in this AU Ian and Mickey don't break up at the end of season 5, what does their relationship look like in S6?

Other ideas: Kev and Vee pregnancy with her mother ends up fizzling out because in the middle of Shameless creating that storyline Shanola got pregnant and would have looked pregnant during filming so the story got changed at the last minute. -> Scrap the mother from the script and let's say that Vee being pregnant was very easy, what would they end up doing that season?

Frank should have probably died earlier, and his death should have been unrelated to either his drinking or his age. Probably after Monica, to add irony I'd say it should happen during his Francis arc, when he was sober so... S8? And actually show the Gallaghers dealing with it.

All the early romantic interests should have stayed longer and been even more fleshed out as characters beyond their relationship to their Gallagher, there's a reason ppl remember the early relationships so much more than the later ones, the Milkovich, the Jackson (as much as I don't particularly like Sheila) and Jimmy and his family are sooo weird and dysfunctional and interesting. They should have their own small story arcs every season, also, have them interact with the rest of the family.

Have the actress for S1 Mandy stay the whole show, the energy she brought to the character is soo different, if her version of the character had stayed and had still ended up with Lip I feel like she would have threatened to scalp Lip with a smile on her face before ever turning her anger and desperation on Karen.

Also, her incest/abortion arc is either treated more in-depth or it should get scrapped completely. It's NEVER brought back and it's probably one of the darkest details of S2 that really feels out of place especially in the early seasons.

I'd define the Milkovich family more: how many brothers? How many cousins? Names? It sure was convenient of the writers to just say that the Milkovich themselves don't know how many siblings and half-siblings they have so that they never have to keep them straight and they can appear and disappear and spawn new ones whenever the story requires it.

I really liked Bonnie, Carl's first crush, would 100% bring her back at some point.

Since this is an "I'm an all-powerful being making these decisions" I'd make Noel start out younger, not necessarily his character's age (Noel had a baby face that wouldn't intimidate a bunny) I'd have him start out s1 at 20, so that he can still convincingly play young in the later seasons.

Not sure what I'd change of Debbie's storyline, I'd probably bake hints of her being a lesbian basically every season and have her realize it earlier than in canon, probably bring out Sandy seasons earlier than they did.

A bit less Frank, definitely less Sheila scenes (sorry to anyone that likes her, I just don't).

A lot of those plotlines that involved a single character that ended up fizzling out without going anywhere replaced with a joint storyline with Kev and Vee or Frank and Monica or another sibling.

I feel like if they made a rotg tv series it would be something abt how the internet is killing the children's belief in the guardians/their cores, which could be interesting but I know it would focus to much on outdated internet terms and old tiktok dances and less on how the internets cynicism and the need for fame will eventually destroy young children

She’d probably be like. Confused? probably weirded out considering it’s the 60s. I don’t think this is very likely, but it’d be sweet if she was chill. If she was cool with it, she’d give Soda her old clothes and makeup and whatever as like an “I’m sorry for cheating on you”/“welcome to being a girl!!” gift

I dunno, I don’t have a very fleshed out idea of Sandy’s character rn. What do you think? Genuinely I needa hear more folks’s takes on Sandy, I’d love to hear your thoughts on her! (and I LOVE how you draw her btw)
