y'all ever think about what an absolute monster Washington would have been with a stable AI? because i think about it a normal (gripping, rattling, gnawing the bars of my enclosure) amount. he didn't have a niche among the freelancers, like York and his locks or North with the sharpshooting or Carolina who is Carolina, but he was definitely their 'jack of all trades'. he's good at infiltration, he shot down a Pelican while freefalling through the air with the Sarcophagus, he's absolutely lethal with a knife, they told him he had to crack a lock in York's place and he's, like, "hm. guess i better brush up on my field manual on the flight in." he wasn't necessarily 'the best' at anything but if they ever just needed an extra set of reliable hands? Washington could fill the part. Delta made York a better lockpick by preventing him from setting off alarms, Theta made North a better shot by helping with more calculated trajectories- imagine the potential Washington had, with his already incredibly broad skillset and his ability to adapt. if they'd given him literally any other AI, i truly believe Washington would have been damn near unstoppable.
