Dan Rather at Steady:
The morning after the election, I was talking with a friend who said something that made me pause: “The American people aren’t buying what the Dems are selling.” At the time I acknowledged the notion but filed it away for closer inspection, once the shock wore off.  Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party were selling hope and freedom, upholding the rule of law, saving democracy. What’s not to buy? With the benefit of lots of discussion, reading, watching, and thinking over the past 17 days, it became apparent that that analysis is incomplete.  It isn’t that the American people didn’t buy what Harris was selling; they didn’t know what she was selling. The increasingly powerful right-wing media championed her opponent’s message while distorting hers. And millions of Americans bought it.
As The New Republic editor Michael Tomasky wrote, “It wasn’t the economy. It wasn’t inflation, or anything else. It was how people perceive those things, which points to one overpowering answer.” The right-wing media now controls the agenda.   For those of us who grew up on a steady diet of truth-telling, it’s gut-wrenching to see this mega misinformation machine grow into a multi-headed monster.   Perhaps it shouldn’t come as a shock. Gallup says trust in the media is at an all-time low. The most trusted news source according to YouGov is … The Weather Channel. Couple that with exit polls showing people who consume a lot of news from traditional sources voted overwhelmingly for Harris.
If you only read The New York Times or watch CNN or so-called legacy networks such as CBS News, you might be surprised to learn there is a vast right-wing media ecosystem that goes well beyond Fox News. Founded in 1996, Fox is the granddaddy of the far-right media but has since been joined by Newsmax and One America News Network. This media universe also includes Sinclair Broadcasting, which owns hundreds of radio and TV stations — reaching 40% of the viewing public — and newspapers, including the recently purchased Baltimore Sun; iHeartMedia, which dominates right-wing talk radio and podcasting; Trinity and Bott Radio, two massive Christian broadcasting networks; social media platforms like Trump’s own Truth Social and X, owned by Trump bestie Elon Musk; and a multitude of hugely popular far-right podcasts.  Collectively, these various and varied media outlets have been feeding growing audiences a constant diet of disinformation for years. They have been fighting and winning an information war Democrats didn’t seem to know existed. The 2024 election may have been the inflection point when the right-wing media’s influence finally eclipsed the mainstream media. That is a major reason a convicted felon won with just under 50% of the popular vote.
The landscape is changing at light speed. Today, traditional media is not where most people get their news. Not so long ago you had to pick up a morning newspaper or turn on a television at a specific time to get news. Now “news” is available 24-7, from hundreds of sources, in tiny bite-sized portions, often without the benefit of context or even fact-checking. Right-wing outlets peddling half truths have learned how to navigate and thus dominate this new landscape. It is important to note that this battle is being waged between right-leaning media and mainstream media. The combatants are not two ideologues. One group is pushing a hard-right agenda, and the other is striving to report and expose the truth. The social media landscape mirrors this reality. On the right, you have Truth Social and X. On the left, not much. In reaction to the misinformation rampant on its sites during the 2020 election, Meta-owned platforms like Facebook and Instagram removed most political content.
An excellent read from longtime CBS News journalist Dan Rather on how right-wing media propaganda being fed to millions of Americans without any real fact-checking of lies is what led to Donald Trump become a Presidential candidate in the first place, let alone win twice.

We will obviously get new voice actors. There have been so many that have either quit or been fired in the years since their characters were last seen, so we will need new ones.
Adding to this is that each Volume brings new voice actors, so Volume 10 shouldn’t be any different.
Here’s my index
There wasn't a RWBY announcement, but there WERE crumbs.

And hey, RWBY and #GREELIGHTVOLUME10 are both trending, so that's nice.

the girl is mine (Agatha Harkness x Reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: When your fascination with Mayor Agatha Harkness becomes all consuming, what lengths will you go to in order to get her attention?
Word Count: 3.2K
A/N: Helloooo, this is a fun little one shot I’ve had sitting in my drive for a while and I finally got around to finishing it. Title & fic idea are both heavily inspired by Ariana Grande’s music video ‘the boy is mine’. Agatha has been consuming my every waking thought lately, so I hope you enjoy this fun au! Let me know what you think, my asks/dm’s are always open!
Growing up you never showed much interest in politics, and you certainly could never name more than a few politicians off the top of your head. It was dull, and you failed to find a group of white men who were knocking on death’s door to be riveting. But all of that changed with the election for the new mayor. In the past, you were vaguely aware of upcoming elections, and tried to remember to vote. But you never actively followed a campaign; at least, not until her.
The her in question being Agatha Harkness, newly elected mayor of New York City. Being the only daughter of the former long-time U.S. Senator Evanora Harkness, politics was in her blood. Running a cutthroat campaign full of promises to clean up the city and help its residents, all whilst viciously annihilating her opponents one by one in debate, she quickly became the candidate to back. Posters of her face were plastered over every crevice of the city; with her perfectly messy dark brown curls, plump red lips, pristinely bright white smile, and lustrous blue eyes it was no surprise you became hooked.
You followed the campaign at a slightly obsessive level, tuning into every debate and press briefing, even having notifications for Agatha Harkness enabled on every platform hoping for a glimpse of the woman who had slowly taken over your every waking thought. She was brilliant, and she had absolutely no idea you existed.
At least, not yet.
A few months after the election, Mayor Harkness appeared to be following through on her campaign promises. Unemployment was at a record low, there were different initiatives to help funding for the public school system, even crime and gang activity became nearly nonexistent.
However there were rumblings from various journalists that perhaps the mayor wasn’t as perfect as she appeared to be. A few reports were suggesting that instead of eradicating the crime syndicates that had been plaguing the city for decades, she had merely moved operations underground. Others hinted that perhaps she had something to do with her mother’s rather mysterious and sudden death. But that was absurd, you thought to yourself as you watched the mayor on your television screen, her bright blue eyes twinkling back at you as she answered a few questions.
Potion making had never been your speciality, as you were still fairly inexperienced in most realms of magic, but you froze as Agatha gave a sly wink when being asked how she kept crime rates lowered. Stirring the cauldron with renewed vigor, the pink fumes filled the room as you inhaled.
Your eyes drifted over to the outfit you had hung on the outside of your closet, briefly wondering if the plan you had concocted was too unhinged. But the mayor’s authoritative voice caught your attention once more as you turned back to the screen.
“Yes, you,” Agatha motioned to one of the eager reporters holding their hands up.
“Madam Mayor, how do you respond to allegations that you accepted illegal campaign donations from some of the top crime families in the city?”
The mayor didn’t appear to be phased by the question, pursing her lips as she frowned. “Well, I’d say that sounds like yet another baseless claim from the media’s fruitless attempts to discredit my accomplishments. The witch hunts didn’t stop in Salem, did they?”
The clamor of dozens of reporters resulted in the mayor waving her hand to decline any other questions, leaving the press briefing room with her team in tow. Shutting off your tv, you glanced back at the outfit, a feeling of determination washing over you.
Popping the cork off the vial, you carefully poured the liquid in the bottle. Pretty soon the only thought on the mayor’s mind would be your name.
After all, what could possibly go wrong?
The next morning, you were out the door before the sun was over the horizon, running through the plan again in your head with your destination clear in mind. You had come up with the idea late one night while researching the effects of various love potions. It was risky, sure, but you had taken the time to perfect this particular potion, leaving no room for error.
The rest of the plan was rather reliant on your ability to trick the mayor’s staff into thinking you were a reporter, but hey, using a few charming spells wasn’t unethical if it was in the name of love, right?
By the time you made it to the mayor’s office you were already having second thoughts. Could you go to jail for impersonating a reporter?
Unfortunately, you had run out of time to turn around as the friendly looking older woman sitting at the front desk waved you over. Approaching her, you ran through what you had practiced saying in the shower. Quickly looking at the personalized name plate on the edge of her desk, you gave her a wide smile.
“Good morning, Sharon. I have an appointment scheduled this morning with Mayor Harkness,” you greeted the receptionist, keeping any trace of nervousness from your tone.
“Oh, an appointment?” Sharon asked, appearing to be confused as she looked at her computer, clicking around with her mouse. “I hate these things, I can never find what I’m looking for. Do you know what never has silly malfunctions? A nice, simple day planner.”
Raising your eyebrows, you nodded along. “Of course. Very reliable.”
Sharon nodded in agreement, still struggling with her computer. “Exactly. I’ve tried explaining that to the mayor but she just waves me away to get her more tea.” She paused, frowning at whatever was on the screen. “I’m not seeing any appointments for this morning. What did you say your name was again?”
Internally sighing, and hoping you had learned this particular spell correctly, you discreetly waved your left hand, mumbling the incantation under your breath. You had never tried an enchantment before, but the spellbook made it appear to be simple enough. As long as you said the right words and had your intention clear in your mind it would work. It had to.
Clearing your throat, you gave her another bright smile. “I’m sure if you check your calendar again, it will have me marked down for an appointment with the mayor. I’m here for a last minute interview.”
Sharon blinked, and her eyes appeared hazier than they were a moment prior, signaling your spell had worked. Looking back at her computer, she gave you a mindless smile. “Oh of course! This silly computer. Right this way, I’ll take you to the mayor.”
Following the receptionist down the hallway, you made note of how the enchantment did not appear to make any obvious changes, at least not outwardly. You did feel a slight twinge of guilt at manipulating someone without magic, but those thoughts were expelled from your brain as you saw the woman who had bewitched you from the first moment you saw her.
Agatha Harkness was leaning against her open office door, a sly grin on her face as she chatted with a nervous looking employee. Her long dark brown hair was messily splayed across her shoulders, and you could picture running your fingers through it.
With one hand cocked on her hip, and the other tucked in the pocket of her expensive looking purple slacks, you felt your breath hitch. This was really happening.
After a few moments, Agatha looked over at you and her receptionist, and she waved the employee away as she frowned.
“Shannon, who do we have here?” Agatha curiously asked, looking you up and down.
You frowned, wasn’t her name Sharon?
Sharon didn’t appear to notice, as she mindlessly smiled. “The reporter for your interview is here, Madam Mayor.”
The mayor’s frown deepened, looking between you and her receptionist. “I thought I told you to clear my schedule this morning. I don’t remember agreeing to any more interviews.”
“It’s the only appointment scheduled for this morning,” Sharon insisted, and you prayed to whatever deity that was listening that your spell didn’t wear off too soon. “I must have forgotten to mention it to you.”
Agatha hummed, a thoughtful expression on her face as her gaze remained fixated on her receptionist. “I see.” She finally looked back over in your direction, curiously eyeing you. “I suppose I can spare a few minutes. Thank you, Shannon, that will be all.”
Sharon, or maybe Shannon, walked back to her desk and Agatha held her hand out, gesturing for you to enter her office. You tentatively walked through the doors, as the mayor followed closely behind, shutting the doors shut.
The mayor’s office wasn’t quite what you had expected. It was a lot bigger than you pictured, and the longer you looked around the more you wondered how it was this size. Large violet tinted drapes hung from the windows, and you were momentarily stunned from the view this high up.
You knew from various interviews that the mayor was an avid reader, so you were unsurprised to find floor to ceiling rows of bookshelves lining three of the four walls. However, you were surprised to find some of them appeared rather old, and you weren’t close enough to read the titles but you managed to make note that a good chunk of them appeared to be in Latin.
“You can take a seat,” Agatha said cordially, walking past you to her desk. “Let’s try and make this snappy.”
Taking a step forward, you pulled one of the chairs out, but in the process of sitting down, the vial of potion you had in your pocket came tumbling out, crashing on the ground as the glass broke, spilling the contents all over the floor.
Shit.
“I’m so sorry, I forgot I had that in my pocket,” you quickly apologized, trying to think of a somewhat convincing story. “You know how delicate perfume bottles can be.”
“Perfume?” Agatha repeated, tilting her head as she examined you, a calculated expression on her face as the frown lines on her forehead deepened.
“Yes. It’s…French,” you offered, avoiding eye contact as you cleared your throat. This was a horrible idea.
Agatha frowned, intrigue coloring her features as she eyed the now broken vial of potion. “I see…what publication did you say you were from again?”
“The Times,” you lied, straightening your posture as she turned her attention back to you. “It’s actually my first day.”
Raising her eyebrows, the mayor sat back in her seat. “You don’t say, and they sent you to interview me? How ambitious.”
“I’ve been following your career for a while,” you prompted, brainstorming ways to possibly salvage this opportunity. “The work you’ve done for the city is quite admirable.”
“Admirable?” Agatha scoffed, folding her arms across her chest. “I can’t say I’ve been hearing a lot of that from your esteemed peers.”
“Well, some people hate to watch a woman be successful in a position of power,” you offered, and your answer appeared to appease the mayor, as she gave you a curt nod. “Besides, it’s not like you actually did any of those things, people love making up stories.”
You weren’t sure if it was the lighting in the office or your imagination, but there was a brief flash of something on the mayor’s face. If you didn’t know any better, you would say she seemed amused at what you said. But that was ridiculous, right?
“Of course,” Agatha answered, slowly licking her lips. “Why don’t we get started?”
It was then that reality set in. You hadn’t anticipated actually having to ask the mayor any questions, the potion would have already kicked in at this point. Unfortunately, Agatha observed your hesitation as she let out a deep sigh, and you could tell she was growing more annoyed.
“You know, most journalists send over their questions beforehand,” Agatha informed you, giving you an inscrutable glance as you nervously fumbled around. “I’m a very busy woman, despite what certain media outlets are spewing out.”
“I apologize, Madam Mayor. I don’t want to waste any of your time,” you insisted, wondering yet again why you thought this plan would work to begin with.
Agatha opened her mouth to say something else, but hesitated for a moment, giving you another inquisitive stare. “Very well, I suppose not everyone can be Christiane Amanpour, hm?”
Christiane Amanpour? The name sounded relatively familiar, but you couldn’t place where you had heard it from.
“You know, the world renowned journalist?” Agatha added on, deep blue eyes boring into your own, and you quickly nodded.
“Of course, I’m such a big fan of her work,” you gushed, but in the back of your mind you had a sinking feeling this wasn’t going the way you hoped it would.
“I’m sure you are,” Agatha mused, and there was something in her words that led you to believe perhaps this was going worse than you were imagining. “How about I ask my assistant to make us some tea? That always helps calm my nerves.”
She was so kindhearted, you noted, feeling yourself relax again as you nodded in agreement. The responding grin Agatha gave you sent a shiver down your spine.. Maybe you could make this work. Sure, you weren’t actually a journalist at The Times and Agatha would eventually realize that when no story came out, but that was a problem for the future. You barely paid attention as Agatha made a quick call to her assistant, but after she hung up you refocused.
“I have to tell you, Sharon was very helpful this morning,” you said honestly, still feeling some lingering guilt over using an enchantment on her.
“Who’s Sharon?” Agatha deadpanned, giving you a puzzled look.
For a moment you thought she was joking as you let out a nervous, quiet laugh, until you realized she was being serious.
“Um, your assistant?”
“Oh, Shannon?” Agatha corrected you, waving her hand dismissively. “She does what she’s told. A bit too chatty for my personal taste.”
You tried to hide the surprise from your face as you processed what the mayor said. That was a bit strange, but maybe the receptionist’s nameplate was wrong? After all, Agatha was so good. All the work she had been doing for the city, you knew she genuinely cared about helping people. Right?
“Of course, my mistake,” you said quietly, awkwardly crossing your legs.
Sharon, or Shannon, came in a few moments later with two cups of tea. Her eyes were still slightly glazed over, but the enchantment would surely wear off soon…probably. Actually, you weren’t sure how long the spell would last. But she would be fine…probably.
When you were alone again, Agatha let out a low chuckle, and you frowned. You didn’t say any of that out loud, right?
“Oh don’t mind me, dear,” Agatha said, giving you another charming smile and you felt your worries instantly slip away as she held out one of the cups. “Tea?”
The mayor’s lithe fingers brushed against yours as you accepted the cup, and you let out an involuntary shiver at the lingering contact. Slowly withdrawing her hand, Agatha smirked at the flush you could feel spreading across your cheeks. Raising her own cup to her lips, you were entranced watching her ruby red lips part as she took a small sip.
Following her lead, you lifted your cup, but hesitated. The tea’s sweet aroma invaded your senses as you inhaled, and for a moment the scent smelled oddly familiar. You weren’t usually a tea drinker, you preferred coffee, but it was odd, the longer you allowed the scent to settle the more you wondered what was in it.
Looking up, you found Agatha watching you again, her cup lowered back on her desk as she surveyed you.
“Is the tea not to your liking?” The mayor asked, appearing genuinely concerned.
“No, it smells great,” you insisted, raising the cup closer to your lips.
Her blue eyes were so warm and inviting, and she gave you a small encouraging nod, enticing you to take a sip. The warm liquid was as sweet as it had smelled, almost too sweet, you noted, allowing it to swirl around your mouth as you swallowed.
“Good girl,” Agatha murmured, so quietly you barely heard her.
Blinking, you felt the room begin to spin as you struggled to make sense of what was happening. The sickeningly sweet taste lingered in your mouth as you felt your body grow heavier with every breath you let out. You barely heard the crash of your teacup hit the floor as your hands fell to your sides.
Your eyes struggled to remain open as you attempted to fight whatever was happening to you, but felt firm hands hold you in place.
“Don’t fight it, pet, I’d hate to have Shannon clean up even more of a mess,” Agatha whispered in your ear as everything went dark.
The throbbing of your headache was the first thing you were aware of as you finally came to, eyes fluttering open. There was a dull ache that seemed to run through your entire body, and you struggled to recognize your surroundings. It was then you realized why you felt a dull ache, as you came to the startling realization your body was suspended midair, hands and feet bound.
Were you still dreaming?
“Not quite, dear.”
What?
You tried to move your head, but failed as you heard a responding chuckle at your fight to free yourself.
“I must say, you’re clever. Inexperienced, but clever,” Agatha mused as she came into focus, walking towards you with a smirk painted across her face.
“I…” you struggled to speak, your throat far too dry, and Agatha fake pouted, raising her hand to brush against your face.
“Is someone feeling shy? Where’s that confident little witch who used an enchantment spell on my assistant?” Agatha mocked, lightly slapping your cheek before tracing a finger across your lips. “Tell me, what was your plan after slipping me that love potion?”
“I don’t…I don’t understand,” you said deliriously, still feeling an odd sensation in your head.
“Normally I’d have drained you of your magic by now,” Agatha said aloud, her long fingers moving lower, and you gasped as they wrapped around your neck. “It’s been a long time since someone’s managed to surprise me.”
“You’re a witch?” You managed to get out, torn between the paralyzing fear of what was occurring and a more carnal desire as you felt a heat pool between your legs from the way the mayor was looking at you.
“And here I thought you were clever,” Agatha said, a wicked gleam in her eyes as she squeezed, the pressure causing you to moan.
She moved closer to you, not releasing her hand from your throat as her lips grazed yours. “Now, I think it’s time I break in my new toy, hm? Why don’t you show me how much you worship me.”
The mayor released you from your magical bindings as you hit the floor, and swirls of purple magic surrounded you, forcing you on your knees as she roughly grabbed your chin, forcing you to look up at her.
“I’ve always wanted my own pet.”

Agatha All Along Episode 5: Easter Eggs & References
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Salem Seven’s Animal Transformations
A Nod to Their Classic Marvel Comics Powers
The Salem Seven, first introduced in episode 2, make their comeback in episode 5, appearing as different animals along the Witches Road before morphing into witches dressed entirely in black. Among these creatures are a fox, a crow, a snake, and others. This shapeshifting ability, allowing them to take on various forms, has its roots in the original Marvel Comics, where it was a well-known power of the Salem Seven.
Earth-616 Salem's Seven Member - Main Power
Thornn - Red horn-like projectiles
Gazelle - Super speed
Vakume - Wind manipulation
Vertigo - Nausea induction
Brutacus - Super strength
Hydron - Water cannon
Reptilla - Snake hands
Tumblr media
The Salem Seven Are The Daughters Of Agatha Harkness' Original Coven
After Agatha Harkness and her crew open a portal to the Witches’ Road, the Salem Seven make their move, catching up to the group just before they reach the third trial’s base. Lilia Calderu and Rio Vidal are the only ones who truly grasp the twisted history of the Salem Seven. As Lilia lays it out, “When Agatha murdered her sister witches, she spared their young children.” Rio chimes in, “Yeah, and then they became a feral, hive-minded coven bent on revenge”
The “sister witches” that Lilia mentions were Agatha’s original coven, the ones who turned on her, accused her of dark magic, and sent her to the stake. Classic Agatha—her past always has a way of coming back to haunt her.
Tumblr media
Hexenbesen
The Witches' Broom Spell
As the Salem Seven encircle them, Teen proposes a "hexenbesen," which turns out to be a spell for a witches' broom, granting the coven the ability to soar above the Witches' Road for a brief moment. The term "hexenbesen" hails from old German, meaning "witch's broom," and it’s amusing to witness the coven's resistance to this well-worn trope, especially as Patti LuPone's character, Lilia, points out how it's been "coopted by the holiday industrial complex." Nevertheless, there's a stunningly eerie scene of the coven gliding beneath a blood moon, evoking memories of classic witch-themed media like Disney's Hocus Pocus.
Tumblr media
80s Sleepover Horror Vibes
A Summer Camp Throwback for Agatha’s Next Challenge
As Agatha and her coven dash into a cabin, they brace for their next challenge before the Salem Seven can catch up. Once again, they undergo a transformation, reminiscent of their previous escapades in Agatha All Along. This time, however, the atmosphere is steeped in a "summer camp horror movie" vibe. With an abundance of scrunchies and headbands in sight, Zamata's Jennifer Kale even sports a retainer, perfectly nailing the look.
Full Blood Moon & Spirits
Agatha’s Trial  & Talking to the dead
As soon as the coven enters the trial house, the ominous full blood moon looms overhead, setting the tone for Agatha’s next challenge. It’s a continuation of the eerie trend we’ve seen—each trial accompanied by a different moon phase, tying the natural elements to the witches’ journey. But this time, the stakes are even higher. The blood moon signifies the thinning veil between the living and the dead, making it the perfect setup for Agatha’s trial, where she’s forced to confront spirits from her past. Talking to the dead isn’t just a test of magic—it’s a test of Agatha’s guilt, power, and the unresolved ghosts that still haunt her.

Teen Evokes Billy Kaplan's Wiccan
Red Shirt, Blue Headband
The fresh wardrobe for Joe Locke's character in "Teen" stands out as particularly intriguing, reminiscent of the buzz generated when clips from this episode first appeared in the trailers for Agatha All Along. Joe sports a striking red shirt paired with a blue headband, creating a clear visual nod to Billy Kaplan's Wiccan from Marvel Comics, which seems to be a deliberate choice. This look also echoes young Billy Maximoff's Halloween costume in WandaVision, where he donned similar colors and a headband. Consequently, it strongly suggests that "Teen" may very well be the reincarnated son of the Scarlet Witch.
Nostalgic Pressure: The 80s Watch and 30-Minute Countdown Timer
The 30-minute trial countdown is prominently displayed on an old-school 80s wristwatch, adding a nostalgic touch to the scene. The ticking timer builds tension as the characters face a race against time to complete their task. This retro wristwatch ties into the 80s slumber party theme, further immersing the moment in a fun yet eerie atmosphere. The watch, with its vintage aesthetic, serves as a subtle nod to the classic 80s supernatural genre, where timers and countdowns often played a key role in escalating suspense.

An Ode to “The Exorcist”
Agatha’s Decent into Darkness
Shortly after the coven's heated discussion on whether Agatha deserves punishment and their eerie encounter with the Ouija board, Harkness becomes the unwilling host of a wayward spirit. Her transformation is strikingly reminiscent of the chilling possessions depicted in The Exorcist films. The makeup effects mirror those iconic visuals, and her movements—twisting and crawling through the cabin—are filled with a sinister intent as she turns on her fellow witches.
Tumblr media
Evanora Harkness Returns
Agatha’s Past Haunts Her in Ghostly Form
In a surprising twist, it comes to light that Agatha is under the influence of her mother’s spirit, Evanora Harkness. Flashbacks from WandaVision reveal that Agatha was responsible for her mother’s death, along with the demise of her fellow witches, as she absorbed their powers for her own gain. Now, Evanora’s ghost seeks to settle old scores, harboring a desire for vengeance against her daughter.
When Evanora exits Agatha's body, she tells the young witches, "My coven risked everything to kill her and you fools have willingly joined her." When Agatha asks her mother why she hates her, Evanora answers, "You were born evil, I ought to have killed you the moment you left my body." If true, this means that Agatha was already evil before the Darkhold corrupted her.
This moment also marks the MCU's inaugural introduction of ghosts.
“I Can Be Good”
Agatha’s Haunting Echo from WandaVision
Agatha, desperate to keep her new coven from abandoning her and leaving her to face the haunting presence of her mother, pleads with the witches, insisting that "she can be good." This echoes a chilling moment from her past when she used the same words to sway her former coven, just before she turned on them, claiming their powers for herself. This creates a haunting parallel between the two covens, particularly as the episode concludes with the death of at least Alice, if not more.

Agatha Drains Alice’s Magic, Sealing Her Fate
Absorbing Alice’s Magic, Agatha Regains Her Power
In a shocking turn of events, Alice Wu-Gulliver’s bold decision to cast a spell on the Evanora-possessed Agatha actually works, forcing Evanora’s spirit out of Agatha’s body. But Agatha, ever the opportunist, seizes the moment and drains Alice’s magic. Just like Evanora and her former coven, Alice can’t stop her own spell, and as Agatha siphons her power, Alice’s body begins to decay.
In the end, Alice drops dead, leaving the coven powerless to save her. Even Jennifer Kale’s panacea from episode 2 wouldn’t have been enough to bring Alice back. With Alice gone for good, the coven is forced to press on down the Witches’ Road without one of their own.
Nicholas Scratch’s Haunting Truth
Secrets of Agatha’s Son Revealed
Teen discovers that the spirit of Agatha’s late son, Nicholas Scratch, is haunting the cabin, causing the stopwatch trial timers to halt. As Teen inspects the Ouija board, he notices it’s spelling out Nicholas Scratch’s name. Without hesitation, he shouts Nicholas’ name to Agatha, and just like that, she stops draining Alice’s magic. In that chilling moment, Agatha hears her son’s voice whisper, “Mama, stop.”
This revelation confirms that Nicholas Scratch is truly deceased, dispelling earlier theories that hinted he might be working for Mephisto, as suggested in episode 3 of Agatha All Along. It also clarifies that the Teen is not Agatha’s son, countering previous assumptions. While Teen can’t save Alice, he begins to piece together just how much Nicholas means to Agatha—and it might just be the key to stopping her.
Tumblr media
“Like Mother, Like Son”
Is Teen Really Billy Maximoff?
In a stunning turn of events, Agatha drains Alice of her powers as she attempts to break free from her possession, ultimately leading to the shocking murder of the protective witch at the conclusion of Agatha All Along episode 5. This act mirrors Agatha's past, where she similarly eliminated her former coven and her own mother. At the episode's climax, Teen boldly confronts Agatha, declaring that if being a witch entails taking lives for personal gain, he wants no part of it. Agatha, with a sly grin, remarks on how much he resembles his mother, hinting that she has always been aware of his true identity, further reinforcing the notion that Teen is indeed the offspring of the Scarlet Witch.
Tumblr media
Teen’s Magical Ascension
A Crown Fit for Wiccan
In a surprising turn of events, Teen reveals his own radiant blue magic. He seizes control of both Lilia and Jennifer, sending Agatha tumbling off the Witches' Road and into the muck, before doing the same to the other two witches. The fifth episode of Agatha All Along concludes with Teen donning a crown that strikingly resembles the Scarlet Witch's Red Crown. This development strongly suggests that Agatha All Along has officially established Teen as Billy Kaplan's Wiccan, the reborn son of the Scarlet Witch.

Frank’s challenge to Bill’s isolationism is framed, not as a larger social issue in which Bill is keeping essential resources from those who may need them on pain of death, but merely as a conflict within their relationship. As the audience, we’re never positioned to question Bill’s isolationism outside of how it limits his social life. We’re meant to admire and sympathise with how his attitude allows him to build the queer life he never got to lead before the world ended.
In 2007, Jasbir Puar coined the term ‘homonationalism’ to describe LGBTIQ people and movements who align themselves with nationalist attitudes; queer people who ascribe to an ‘us vs them’ mentality to the detriment of less privileged groups. People like Bill, whose queer marginalisation doesn’t push them toward radical empathy, but toward supremacist attitudes.
But It is hardly surprising that The Last of Us creator Neil Druckmann uses queerness to pinkwash harmful libertarianism. Druckmann grew up as an Israeli in the occupied West Bank of Palestine — one of many of Israel’s “settlements” where Israel’s checkpoints, walls and military forces prevent Palestinians from accessing resources like water and electricity (sound familiar?).
There’s no denying that portraying queerness at the end of the world is always somewhat refreshing. Apocalypse media has long been critiqued over its lack of imagination for envisioning futures where only the most privileged survive. But to see episode 3 so celebrated brings the disconcerting reminder that the majority are still most comfortable with celebrating queerness that aligns with conservative values of individual liberty over community good.

Reuters’ Ethics and Standards editor told HonestReporting on Tuesday that the wire service “disputes” our “claim” that its journalists had “decorate[d] their office with terror symbols.”
This despite photo evidence we exposed last week showing scarves with terror groups insignias decorating what used to be Reuters office in Gaza in 2013:
Tumblr media
The man in the photo is Reuters current Head of Visuals for Gaza, Suhaib Jadallah Salem. The photo still appears on his Facebook page.
Like the Nazi Swastika, the emblems on the scarves are of genocidal groups — Hamas, Islamic Jihad, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades — that call for the killing of Jews/Israelis (like some of Suhaib’s colleagues in Reuters).
There are only two bad explanations to Reuters’ disturbing response: ” Either it doesn’t view these proscribed terror groups as such, or it is denying indisputable evidence.
The rest of Reuters Ethics and Standards editor Brian Moss’s official response did not address our exposure of its journalists in Gaza receiving awards from senior Hamas officials.
Instead, it said: “On the basis of a close review by the Reuters Ethics and Standards department, we dispute the distorted evidence and insinuations of bias in the HonestReporting September 5th article. We stand by our coverage of Gaza and our team, who operate within the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles…Further, we dispute any claim that our journalists received ‘de-facto bribes from terrorists.'”
But here are the facts, which HonestReporting stands behind:
Our review of Palestinian media revealed that since 2015, the proscribed terror group has hosted annual ceremonies to honor Gazan journalists who had won prestigious international awards, including photographers from Reuters.
This cozy relationship between Gaza’s terror groups and the journalists tasked with covering them objectively is ethically flawed. It exposes the disturbing entanglement between terrorists and the media, shaping a distorted global narrative about Gaza.
Honored by Terrorists
In 2017, Hamas held a commendation event for international award-winning journalists in Gaza, where it honored Reuters photographer Suhaib Jadallah Salem — the agency’s current head of visuals for Gaza (who was photographed in Reuters office in front of the terror groups’ scarves.)
One of the photos from the event shows Suhaib’s brother Mohammed Jadallah Salem, a Reuters photographer who recently won the Pulitzer prize and the World Press Photo award, receiving Suhaib’s commendation plaque on his behalf. Two senior Hamas officials are granting the plaque: Khalil al-Hayya and Mushir al-Masri:
Tumblr media
Al-Hayya has publicly called for a fight against Israel as “the head of the serpent,” and al-Masri has vowed to “uproot The Zionists With Our Axes, Knives, Guns.”
Receiving commendation from such terrorists is a mark of Cain. It should get any journalist disciplined by any respectable media outlet.
Yet Reuters journalists — knowing perhaps that their bosses won’t find out or even care — had no qualms getting into bed with Hamas. Another photo from the event shows other Reuters journalists around a table not too far from al-Hayya: Reuters Senior Gaza correspondent Nidal al-Mughrabi is sitting near Suhaib’s brother Mohammed and photographer Ashraf Amra (who was also honored at the event and exposed by HonestReporting for endorsing infiltration into Israel on October 7). Beside them is Belal Jadallah, who headed the allegedly “independent” Gaza Press House:
Tumblr media
Suhaib himself attended a separate Hamas commendation event for journalists later in 2017. This time, he was honored for performing the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca:
Tumblr media
Suhaib received the commendation from al-Masri and Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum (who have often been interviewed by Reuters), along with the movement’s media officials.
It’s worth noting that four of the Jadallah brothers work for Reuters, in Gaza and Dubai. And the links of the Jadallah family to Hamas go back years. One of the brothers of Suhaib and Mohammed, Sallah, was among the terrorists who kidnapped and killed Israeli soldier Nahshon Waxman in 1994.
The mastermind behind that operation was Moahmmed Deif, who was recently eliminated by Israel. As Hamas’ military chief, Deif was also one of the masterminds behind the October 7 massacre in southern Israel.
If Suhaib and Mohammed were professional journalists, such background wouldn’t necessarily matter. But if they have been hosted and honored by Hamas, it’s alarming.
Unethical Nexus
Top news editors probably know it’s impossible to be a journalist in Gaza without links to Hamas, which controls the information flow. In other words, professional journalism in Gaza is impossible, and news outlets should admit it to their audience.
But being hosted by Hamas, receiving its commendations, and displaying terror groups’ insignias isn’t a case of journalists even trying to be professional. This is an agenda-driven, cooperative, symbiotic, reciprocal, and personal nexus that benefits each side.
A Hamas statement from one of the commendation events said it best:
The media office of Hamas organizes this annual event to honor creative journalists for the fourth year in a row, in appreciation of their efforts in serving the Palestinian cause.
Journalists who violate the agency’s code of ethics by receiving de-facto bribes (or at least benefits) from terrorists to “serve the Palestinian cause,” and decorate their office with terror symbols, are not deserving of international praise or the defense of the Reuters Ethics and Standards department.

Who says witches are only for October? Author of current club read How to Flirt with a Witch, Tiana Warner, highlights the role of witches as feminist icons in a proposal to make 2025 the year of the witch!

Witches as feminist icons: 5 reasons to make 2025 the year of the witch
Between books, TV, movies, and musicals, witches are having a heyday, and it’s about time. In fact, now is better than ever for this symbol of female power to rise to popularity.
Here are 5 reasons witches are total icons that we should all aspire to.
Tumblr media
Joan of Arc
1. Witches defy societal norms
This is no surprise, but witch hunts of the past weren’t really about magic. They were about controlling and suppressing women and marginalized people.
Living without a man? Independent income? Hanging out with other women instead of trying to find a husband? How dangerous. Must be a witch.
Many women accused of witchcraft were unconventional, independent (unmarried or widowed), or had strong social bonds with other women. They were boldly different—and today, we can channel the energy of those fierce women as a source of strength.
2. Witches challenge the patriarchy
Witch trials were fueled by the fear and hatred of women, especially those who were “disobedient”. This misogyny often intersected with homophobia, as women who formed close connections with other women were seen as threats to the traditional family structure. People were also targeted based on race and class. In essence, “witches” were strong women and marginalized individuals whom society deemed too deviant, too threatening, and too powerful.
3. Covens are found family
Covens are communities whose members share resources, knowledge, and strength, forming a united and unstoppable force. These sisterhoods are all about mutual support, creating a sense of belonging that is often lacking in mainstream society.
Today’s witches and Wiccan covens continue the tradition of solidarity, providing inclusive spaces for people to explore their spiritual paths without fear of judgment.
4. Witches resist traditional gender roles and sexuality
There’s something wonderfully sapphic about a group of women living together and doing little witchy spells and rituals. But the link between witches and sapphism is more than that. Back in the witch trials, deviations in sexuality and gender were used to justify witchcraft accusations. Joan of Arc was targeted for being “manly” and wearing men’s clothing. Even some men who defied societal norms, particularly queer men or those seen as feminine, were accused of witchcraft. The Malleus Maleficarum, the infamous 15th-century witch-hunting manual, warned against acting “unwomanly” and said witches engaged in sexual relations with other women.
Medieval people might have been terrified of sexuality, but today, sexuality is something to be celebrated. Joan of Arc is now a symbol of resilience. Witches in popular culture come in all the colors of the rainbow. Modern Wiccan traditions embrace feminist ideals that uplift queer identities. Witches continue to live outside conventional gender roles, defying societal expectations around sexuality, clothing, and lifestyles.
5. Witches are symbols of resilience
Feared and revered, witches have always been powerful women who live by their own rules. In medieval times, accusations of witchcraft were used to silence women, and the legacy of those who fought against the injustices lives on. From a dark history, witches have come to represent the strength and solidarity needed to overcome oppression. And in today’s media, what is a witch if not a strong woman fighting for what she wants?
From the Salem witch trials to modern Wiccan practices and witches in the media, witches have always been badass icons of defiance, feminism, and empowerment. Gather your coven, channel the fierce energy of our witchy ancestors, and let’s make 2025 the year of the witch.

"I have two little girls, I don't want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I'm supposed to be afraid to say that,". And that's one of the reasons conservatives won so many races.
BOSTON - Rep. Seth Moulton is defending controversial remarks that he made about transgender athletes in the wake of the presidential election.
President-elect Donald Trump's campaign spent millions on anti-trans political ads this fall. The Massachusetts Congressman told The New York Times after Trump's win that "Democrats spend way too much time trying not to offend anyone" and called for a new approach from the party on the transgender issues.
"I have two little girls, I don't want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat I'm supposed to be afraid to say that," Moulton told The Times.
The Boston Globe reported that a top aide to Moulton resigned after his comments appeared in The Times, and there were protests outside his Salem office.
Seth Moulton defends comments on trans athletes
Moulton appeared on CNN Sunday and did not back down from his statement.
"Look, I was just speaking authentically as a parent about one of many issues where Democrats are just out of touch with the majority of Americans," he said. "And I stand by my position, even though I may not have used exactly the right words."
Moulton said that despite the public backlash, the vast majority of feedback he's received has been "incredibly supportive."
He said fellow Democrats and Congressional colleagues have told him, "You're exactly right Seth, this is our problem. We try to cancel people rather than actually having debates about issues that Americans care about."
"We're losing on issues like this"
Congressman Seth Moulton doubled down on the comments after a Veterans Day event in Marblehead on Monday.
"I stand by them because importantly, I'm just trying to raise the debate. I'm not saying I have all the answers on this. It's not my area of expertise. But this is an example of a contentious issue that we have to be willing to take on as a Democratic Party," Moulton told WBZ. "One, we got to start winning elections and we're losing on issues like this. And two, if we don't actually define the terms of the debate then Trump and the extremist Republicans will define it for all the rest of us."
Backlash to Seth Moulton's statement on trans athletes
On Monday, a handful of trans activists and anti-war protesters gathered outside Moulton's Veterans Day event. One of them was Kyle Davis, a Salem city councilor who is now calling for Moulton to resign.
"If the Congressman's theory of change is that we need to sell out and scapegoat every marginalized community in order to win, I don't really know what we're winning at that point," Davis said.
Moulton told WBZ that the outrage about his comments proves his point. "It's a whole variety of issues where Democrats are clearly just out of touch with most of America. And I think that's because we do too much preaching and not enough listening," Moulton said.
LGBTQ+ advocacy group MassEquality called Moulton's comments "both harmful and factually inaccurate."
"Our community is deeply hurt by these remarks, which reinforce harmful stereotypes and undermine the dignity of transgender athletes," Executive Director Tanya Neslusan said in a statement. "We hope that by engaging with the Congressman, we can work toward a more inclusive and informed understanding of transgender issues in sports."
Massachusetts Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley did not mention Moulton by name in a social media post Sunday, but wrote that the transgender community has been "scapegoated and dehumanized."
"I will always stand with trans people and the entire LGBTQ+ community," Pressley said. "This Congresswoman sees you and loves you."

Justin Horowitz at MMFA:
Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts has repeatedly said during media interviews that Project 2025 — the conservative movement’s extremist platform for a potential second Trump White House — will last beyond the next Republican administration, possibly for decades or “the next century.”  Project 2025 is backed by a nearly 900-page policy book called Mandate for Leadership: A Conservative Promise, which extensively outlines potential approaches to governance for the next Republican president, including replacing federal employees with extremists and Trump loyalists and attacking LGBTQ rights, abortion, contraception, and labor unions.  The Heritage Foundation’s proposals have a track record of success — the first Trump administration implemented 64% of policy recommendations from the previous edition of Mandate for Leadership.
Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts has repeatedly stated that the far-right Project 2025’s ideas will last beyond the next Republican presidency, possibly for several decades or even a century.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE RUTHLESS ROCKSTARS — The discography of South Korean idol band Moth Signals consists of four studio albums, eight extended plays, and twenty-six singles. Over the course of the career, the band has sold over 10 million records worldwide, making them one of the best selling music artists in South Korea and internationally. Since their 2016 debut, the members of Moth Signals have written and produced every single song they have released, thought it would not be until 2021 they were completely "self-produce".
ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀TRIGGER / CONTENT WARNINGS. Death of a parent, descriptive mention of eating disorders + treatment ( 2021 section ). If this piece is too triggering, please DM and I can give you a summary of what happens!
Tumblr media
ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE YEAR IS 2016 — Moth Signals debuts with the physical single album SCARED to test the waters. Despite the popularity Loop 2002 gained, the same audience was not willing to tune into Salem's attempt at a cash grab. Scared would sell less than 20 copies in total and went out of print in 2017 because of how poorly it was selling. In 2024, getting an original copy of the album is near impossible and fakes often sell for $500 easily. This would be the first and only year to feature the line-up of SALEM, JUDE, DOHUN, and OLIVER. It would later be revealed that in order to make their appearances at The Lure and other live bar performances, Superbloom Media forged documents that stated Oliver was born in 1999, instead of the true 2001. Due to their inability to sell enough records, Moth Signals would be placed on an indefinite hiatus as Superbloom Media "restructured the group" to ensure the next generation would bring more success for the company as a whole. Yang Irang aka Jude would move to Mystic Story and debut as a soloist under her birth name and continue with an indie sound. On the other hand, there have been no public spottings of Jeong Dohun since 2017 with a police report filed by his parents not long after his contract was terminated with Superbloom Media. As of 2024, this era of Moth Signals is considered "lost media" as very primary sources of year survives.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀SCARED was written by park jueun and produced by kim yuchan and park jueun in spring 2016, performed by park jueun. in her mainstream debut, salem explores themes of fear and insecurity with the lyrics suggesting a hesitance to approach someone and freely express themselves. many fans interpret this song to be about salem's original band, LOOP 2002, which she left in favor of moth signals the year before. the phrase " why are you scared ? " repeats throughout the song and highlights a sense of frustration with the fear and reluctance in this relationship, despite many attempts to change. the narrator yearns for reassurance and validation, seeking comfort in the hope that their uncertainties will fade away having this person beside them. ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE LONG SILENCE was written by park jueun and produced by kim yuchan and park jueun, performed by park jueun. this song is often compared to their later released b-side brand new city from their 2023 album ohio impromptu and shows how similar salem and serin are. both songs discuss the sense of dread from being in one's prime and what comes later. the long silence is described as what happened after the narrator of brand new city moves and realizes that they need to find a way to survive. simply moving away from their problems was not enough to change their feelings and create a new sense of happiness. the narrator vows to " find love / and find a way to survive here ", giving them a new sense of purpose and hope to move on.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE YEAR IS 2017 — The band would return on what is now celebrated as their debut anniversary, SEPTEMBER 17TH, and include three new members: JUNYEONG, MINJAE, and SERIN. Instead of following the traditional band path, the members were picked from Superbloom's most promising trainees. They were desperate to get these three out into the world so that they did not lose their talents, mostly seen with Junyeong. The band would be promoted on various idol television programs including AFTER SCHOOL CLUB and KNOWING BROS, to get their names out there. They would also promote their only title track for the year, GREAT CAESAR, on the different idol performance shows, including INKIGAYO and MUSIC BANK. Despite their attempts, Moth Signals would continue to sell poorly due to their status as a co-ed group and lack of interest in bands. Despite their busy idol schedules, the band would be given a permanent residency at The Lure in Gangnam, Seoul and lasted until their second hiatus in 2021. They would perform every Friday and Saturday night just before the bar closed as the most exciting act and would slowly gain more fans as they performed more.
Tumblr media
ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀GREAT CAESAR was written by park jueun and produced by kim yuchan and park jueun, performed by park jueun and lee jiyeon. this song explores themes of identity, longing for recognition, and the desire for power and validation. the narrator knows that they are lacking in confidence when they are not wearing a suit, which symbolizes a facade or role the speaker feels they must play to be respected. the references to the city of leningrad is a metaphor for feeling lost and helpless, like leaves lost to the wind, alluding siege of leningrad during world war ii and the bleakness of the city. they want to be recognized as someone great, even if it's just for a moment. the speaker reflects on their childhood and feeling in control, though they would quickly lose that confidence, and now long for stability or connection to feel grounded.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE YEAR IS 2018 — Unlike the previous two years, nothing about Moth Signals would change as they came into 2018. Their music was still in the hands of Jueun and Kim Yuchan, the most successful artist under Superbloom at the time, and the rest would be delegated to lowly b-sides. It was beginning to feel like Salem did not care about the creative input of the other members, especially when it was not getting her any results. This year would cement Moth Signals promotional style taking place during the SPRING and FALL, with the fall album almost always dealing with darker themes and concepts than the one released in spring. This release continued their momentum forward and there was nothing out of the ordinary during this era. They were slowly being included in more variety shows, as seen by their joint appearance with Day6 on Weekly Idol and their first invitations to a major award show with the Golden Disc Awards and Seoul Music Awards. They were not nominated or even performed, but their photos from the red carpet got people talking about the unknown group.
ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀EAT THIS NIGHT was written by park jueun, produced by kim yuchan and park jueun, performed by park jueun. eat the night returns to their original sound with themes of liberation and desire to break from societal constraints. the song opens with lyrics expressing uncertainty about what to sing about, as if overwhelmed by the abundance of refrain in the world, and emphasizes their lack of understanding of the path chosen. the narrator proclaims that they have finally found their own way and the metaphor of cutting the moon and devouring the night suggests that rebellious mindset, chosing to defy expectations and live freely. eat the night encourages fans to let go of their norm and find their own path, breaking from exceptions to create their own meaning of happiness. ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀BIRTHDAYS was written by park jueun and produced by kim yuchan and park jueun, performed by park jueun. birthdays revolves around the themes of heartbreak, disappointment, and the realization that a once-special relationship has come to an end. the lyrics depict the emotions of someone who believed their relationship was unique and meaningful, only to discover that their partner does not feel the same. This is famously thought to be about one of her former bandmates from LOOP 2002. Throughout high school and much of their career together, they dated and broke up around the same time Salem left to join Superbloom Media. Through this song, she is coming to terms with the relationship being over after asking “why don’t you adore me?” over and over again. She uses the concept of sleep and going to be bed to bury the past and move on from the relationship, showing that she would be ready to move on once she wakes up.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE YEAR IS 2019 — Moth Signals would release HYPOCREEP in March 2019, right before OLIVER was set to appear on the new survival talent competition show SUPERBAND, produced by JTBC. Despite the sound change, Hypocreep was met with positive reaction from fans and is their first mini-album to sell over 1,000 copies in the first month. It is often seen as a turning point for the band as their releases following would follow a similar sound and is the first song to credit another band member besides SALEM, that being OLIVER. This would be the first of a long partnership between the two that would eventually fizzle out during their 2022 hiatus. Hypocreep is also one of the most popular songs for other idols and bands to cover given the technical requirements of each instrument. While Hypocreep opened the door for the other members, MY ANGEL would be the first title track sung by another member. Oliver's My Angel would go onto break and double every single Moth Signals record as he rode the Superband high. MY ANGEL still remains a fan favorite song and would give the band their first award show nomination on Show! Music Core, much to the band’s surprise. Most of the members recall this era as the first time they actually felt loved by the audience and could see people singing along.
ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀HYPOCREEP was written by park jueun, produced by park jueun, and performed by park jueun. the song expresses frustration towards people who are hypocritical and fake, particularly those who are thirsty for drama and attention on the internet. the narrator identifies as a “hypocreep,” which is a term they use to describe themselves as a different breed of person who is hyper and freaky. they acknowledge that they may be seen as strange or abnormal to others, but they do not care because those same people secretly wish they could be like them. hypocreep, since it's release, has always been a fan favorite and is almost always the opener on their tours because it never fails to get the audience hyped up. it's a favorite to perform for almost all of the members as well. ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀MY ANGEL was written by oliver song and park jueun, produced by park jueun, kim yuchan, and dallas linwood, and performed by oliver song. my angel is a song about a tumultuous romantic relationship with someone that is both heavenly and devilish at the same time. this would be the first song that connected bandmates salem and oliver together romantically and their relationship would be confirmed later in 2020 by superbloom media and dispatch. he enjoys the sensation of having her in his teeth, representing his inability to let go of her and his knuckles being battered and bruised suggests that he is desperate to win her over, even if it takes everything from him. the relationship is described as a forbidden one and the two are constantly meeting in secret despite the risks. she may seen like an angel, but the narrator knows that she has that "devilish" side as well.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE YEAR IS 2020 — Fans of Moth Signals fall into two camps for their 2020 releases: either loving it or hating everything it stands for. Tragically, due to the popularity of Lion's Den, Pinktop is often forgotten by all fans of Moth Signals. Despite this, it remains one of Jiyeon's favorites and will always have a place on their set-lists because of this. Due to it’s “inappropriate lyrics” LION'S DEN was banned by all the major South Korean music shows and would be promoted in a series of live concerts instead. They would instead promote READY TO FLY as their title track for this era, saving the performances of Lion's Den for their smaller performances. Due to the show going semi-viral on TWITTER thanks to a tweet by a lumi asking “what business Plastic Flowers had releasing” the song, LOVESICKNESS sold over 10,000 copies by the end of the year. This would also be the final time they were promote prior to their 16 month hiatus, making it special to their fans. LION'S DEN would later become a sleeper hit by going viral once again and entering the top 10 on the Circle Chart after being used on an OST.
ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀PINKTOP was written by park jueun and lee jiyeon and produced by kim yuchan and park jueun, performed by park jueun and lee jiyeon. pinktop was inspired by a regular at the bar that they perform at, the lure, and serves as a symbol of liberation and acceptance. salem describes the song as a love song to someone that cares so little about what the world thinks about them, something that both girls struggle with. someone that wears the pinktop is someone that stands out of the crowd and embraces their unique style and personality rather than hiding from the spotlight. the guy is a fan of moth signals and admires their music, showing their mutual appreciation for each other and this strong understanding. the lyrics convey the importance of staying true to oneself and walking their own path regardless of what other people think. ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀LION'S DEN was written by oliver song and produced by kim yuchan and oliver song, performed by oliver song. the major themes of lion's den relate to toxic and tumultuous relationships, with the lyrics depicting the ups and downs of being with someone that can be both loving and hurtful. written completely alone by OLIVER SONG, many fans have begun to debate the real meaning of the song as it relates to his relationship with salem. in lion's den, he realizes that the person they are in love with is full of contradictions as they compare their lover to a pair of teeth. the lover's heart is described as having teeth as well, meaning that while they may talk sweetly, they often hurt and bite him. the relationship is very complicated, in which both parties are hurting each other but can't let go of them. the narrator realizes that they are losing themself by the end of the song and hopefully, ends the relationship before it can get worse.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE YEAR IS 2021 — The GOODNIGHT era was spent dreading what would come next for Moth Signals. It was obvious that the members were losing steam as shown by their smaller performances and the constant cancellation of their performances at their bar, The lure The release of THE FOURTH FLOOR only made that worse as they went back to the melancholic sound and promotions outside of music shows were cut short. In fear of losing the band, Lumis made sure that it sold well, achieving a record-breaking 14,000 copies in the first month alone and securing them more music show nominations. However, it seemed that nothing they were doing was enough as Moth Signals slowly slipped away from the public eye. Despite GOODNIGHT selling well, Moth Signals were put on an unofficial hiatus two months after it’s initial release. Superbloom would be intentionally vague about the details behind the scenes to keep everything under wraps, however, sasaengs exposed the truth. Not only were they on hiatus to “fight burnout”, but Oliver had returned to his hometown of Boston after the death of his father and Jiyeon had been checked into an eating disorder treatment by their manager, Cheon Garam. During this time, Salem and Oliver would also BREAK UP, creating a new tension within the band. The band’s social media—both company owned and personal—would go completely dormant from March 2021 to April 2022, leaving many to believe that the group would never return and would be lost just before they achieved stardom. During this period, SALEM would debut as a solo artist with THE CURSE OF CAPULET and SERIN not long after with PRINCESS DIARIES. JUNYEONG'S debut was confirmed in late 2021, but nothing was ever released due to OLIVER'S return to South Korea.
ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE FOURTH FLOOR was written by park jueun and produced by kim yuchan and park jueun, performed by oliver song the fourth floor explores themes of obsession and dependency in a relationship. the lyrics depict a protagonist who is deeply infatuated with someone to the point of being obsessed, as represented by the repeated phrase “i can’t stop thinking about you.” the protagonist seeks answers and validation from a doctor, indicating a desperation for a solution to their intense emotions. they recognize their own exaggerated behavior, acknowledging that they may appear crazy or “psycho” to others. the chorus reinforces the protagonist’s obsession, stating that they cannot live a day without thinking about this person. the fourth floor conveys a sense of dependency and the idea that the protagonist’s life revolves entirely around the object of their affection.

During this time, it was also revealed that MINJAE had left the band and was replaced by Timefighter contestant OH DEURIM, who had failed to make it into the debut line-up by one place. According to Minghui, he left on good terms with the members but could no longer handle the idol life anymore. Despite how protective poppies are, they surprisingly welcomed Deurim with open arms and wanted to see what she could bring to the table. INTERNET BLUES would be released on May 5, 2022 with the title track I’M ALIVE, which secured them their FIRST WIN and first NOMINATION at a major award show after selling 100,000 copies. Moth Signals would return to their original promotional schedule with the release of I DON'T CARE, the title track for their first studio album, CALL ME CRAZY that November. The studio album was celebrated by all fans as it finally meant that Plastic Flowers were confirming that they were here to stay despite their earlier issues. The members looked so much more alive this era and they even held their first FAN SIGN, which went as well as expected. The members had fun with their fans, but hated the constant requests for cuteness or prying into their personal relationships. They would hold their own formal CONCERT, with over three thousand people in attendance.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀I'M ALIVE was written, produced, and performed by oliver song. i'm alive is an uplifting song that talks about the feeling of overcoming challenges and persevering through tough times. they promise that even in the midst of uncertainty and darkness, the singer declares that they will keep themselves alive. the chorus serves as a mantra of sorts as the singer repeatedly affirms that they are alive and won’t give up. the idea of a “highlight” suggests that even in the bleakest moments of life, one can find something beautiful to hold onto. the bridge encourages listeners to keep searching, keep breathing, and keep alive. It’s a call to action to hold onto life and never give up. ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀I DON'T CARE was written by oliver song and oh deurim and produced by kim yuchan, performed by oliver song. this would be oliver's first attempt at a song that criticizes the world him and similar to his bandmates, he aims to show a sense of confidence that cannot be broken. i don't care is about not being afraid of showing who you are and not carinf about what other people think about you. it suggests that self-love is more important than trying to fit in and please other people, and that it's possible to find happiness in difficult situations. the song would be lauded as ironic because it was released just after oliver song went on hiatus for mental health issues and has never seemed to actually recover.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE YEAR IS 2023 — Coming into 2023, Lumis were promised many exciting things from the band. In March, Oliver’s solo DISHONESTY with the lead single MY HONEST FACT would be released to overwhelming success, cementing his popularity with the general public and showing everyone that he was here to stay. Though fans were happy for him, the same could not be said for his bandmates as SALEM and JUNYEONG began a smear campaign that lasted throughout the entire promotional period. Oliver would ignore any questions about the situation and chose to move on from it instead, celebrating his own achievements rather than focusing on those around him. In June, the band would come back as five to release LOVE AND WAR with the lead single of the same name, which became their best selling record at that point at just under 1 million copies. Later that year, Moth Signals would return with I Disagree and a new title track from Salem. The era and album was very well received despite initial worries about the darker sound alienating their original fanbase. Salem already went through that once, she wasn't going to do it again.
ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀SOLD MY LOVE was written, produced, and performed by oliver song. this song captures the complexities of love, longing, and emotional confrontation. the lyrics express a sense of vulnerability intertwined with defiance as the narrator seems to grapple with past experiences and a feeling of being stuck in a cycle of love that feels both passionate and painful. the recurring idea of "going to your hour" symbolizes a readiness to confront the emotional turmoil head-on despite the ricks involved. there is a sense of raw and unfiltered emotions, hinting at a history of physical connections but also deeper disappointments. the narrator feels that they have wasted their affection on things that didn't matter, selling their love for lost youth and reckless romances. ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀I DISAGREE was written, produced and performed by park jueun. i disagree is an anthem of nonconformity and speaks to anyone that is challenging the status quo, rejecting societal pressures, and has their own opinions. it emphasizes the importance of standing up for what you believe in, suggesting that nothing but freedom and peace will come from it. the chorus features the phrase for i disagree in korean repeating in the background to ensure that their domestic fans get the hint despite all the lyrics being written in english.

ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀THE YEAR IS 2024 — Despite being on track to become one of the biggest bands in the world, Moth Signals would NOT continue their contract with Superbloom Media. While Oliver remained under the main label and Deurim went to Rove Records, the rest of the members would go their separate ways with the company and begin their HITAUS ERA. Tower of Babel is considered to be one of their final releases and because fans were unsure when Moth Signals would return, they made sure the album sold better than expecting. There were so many group orders and fans asking each other to match their albums bought. It was a good era for all the members and it seemed to be the first time they were truly happy making music together in a long time.
ა ⠀ ♱ .⠀ARE U COMING? written and produced by oliver song and finn lee, performed by oliver song. an oliver song classic through and through, he pulls out all of his favorite themes of yearning, escapism, and longing over a romantic connection. the lyrics paint the picture of a place where hopelessness is nonexistent and creating their dreamlike reality, reflecting that of one of his favorite night clubs. the speaker is eager for their partner’s presence, symbolizing a deep emotional yearning for connection and intimacy. rather than their traditional music videos, the production for are u coming? was just a performance at the lure in seoul, confirming that the place discussed in the song is a bar or some sort of party. it was also tested at the bar prior to release to see what fans thought and they were able to vote for their favorite to become the title track of tower of babel.

chapters: 3/? rating: E chapter 3 word count: 5,265 total word count: 19,899 pairing: rogue/remy lebeau other tags: alternate universe - modern setting; alternate universe - still have powers summary:
the sequel to seniors are fine in 2009 Rogue is back in Salem Center, reunited with Remy and the rest of her high school friends. Once there, she finds that rich upper-middle class humans are moving into town in droves and causing all sorts of problems for the town's mutant population. Tensions are already high across the country thanks to the looming re-election campaign of President Kelly, because, after four years, he hasn't had enough of stripping away the already pitiful rights that mutants and other minority groups are so graciously afforded. The way things are going, it doesn't seem like the human and mutant residents of Salem Center will be able to peacefully co-exist. To top it all off, Rogue is unemployed, living on her brother's couch, and extremely, breathtakingly lonely. After ten years of isolating herself from everyone, she's not sure she even remembers how to have friends. And she's also kind of, sort of, maybe, possibly still in love with her best friend from high school. Her best friend who she kissed and knocked unconscious and then ghosted for a decade. So. That's great.
chapter 3 is here! 💚🩷
