there's a very interesting discussion to be had about the role of the catholic church as an international bastion of patriarchal norms, which includes perpetuating homophobia vs. the non-insignificant number of catholic clergymen who are gay. how a culture of taboo around homosexuality (and sex in general) in a highly hierarchical organisation ultimately enables abuse and fosters a code of silence around it. how many people in the ranks of the catholic church are closeted but wish they could not be. how many people in the upper ranks of the catholic church are closeted but also willingly enable a culture of discrimination and homophobia in exchange for personal power.

however! I'm not gonna touch any of that and just keep making jokes about the inherent frociaggine of catholic seminaries. yes, he did say that. maybe the bisoph who leaked this to the press was also a big frocio and took offense to it. maybe they all watch drag race. who am I to say
