The Adventure Into The Unknown Halls Part 1 (Year 1 Birthday Letter)

The wind drags a page from what seems to be a book or journal into your view. The page said......

I was traveling through the cosmos after my previous adventure. I was tired but still carried on nonetheless. After years of traveling and battling, I had yearned for my home. It had been years since I had been able to speak with my loved ones. Perhaps it had been longer. My ability to keep track had slowly dissipated over the years. To sooth the thoughts that were coming to my head, I had decided to take a film log to document my travels. 

“Hello there, everyone. It has been a while since you have given me anything but…I am sure that you can’t reach me…for some reason. I have finally finished my trip to Merloch. The “War on The Cold Planet” as some had called it took many things. I lost my crew...some of the friends I made over there and even a bit of my will. Despite that, I have made it here! I have even recovered some artifacts for you all to have…! I think…it is time for me to finally come home…to see you all once more!”

After finishing my recording, I looked at a picture of my old crew. Thoughts of despair and sorrow filled my head. Still, there was little point in mourning the past and all that I have lost. After a few deep breaths, I had managed to calm down. My peace and thoughts were quickly interrupted by a loud impact on the right side of my ship. “Huh?! What was that?!” I said, alarm heavy in my voice. Due to that, my first impression was to put on my helmet and rush to see what had happened.

Upon arriving at where the noise was, the problem became heavily evident. There was a hole in the ship. It was likely caused by an impact from space matter. This was a really disastrous matter. No matter the size of the hole, the damage could cause ruin to everything I had worked for my entire life. I had tried to grab every important item but missed some due to the pressure of the moment messing with my thinking. After I had collected everything that my brain saw as important at that time, I rushed to the escape pod and released it from the ship. 

I will admit that it disheartened me to see everything I had worked for get destroyed. Years of my life had been thrown away in a matter of mere minutes. What was the point of anything I had done? Was there a point to any of it? Why does everything get taken so easily by a mere act of fate? The thoughts had thrown my head into ruin. I felt the weight of the situation bring me down from my shoulders. After a minute or so of sorrow, I was able to get myself back up. I was still alive. If anything, I had to report my failure and received the just punishment for it.

CURRENTLY WATCHING: I am at the cinema watching the new Ghostbusters! But I'm also still watching Dungeon Meshi and I'm going to get round to the NGE rebuilt films. (I am generally very bad at watching TV shows.

THREE SHIPS: Oooh, my short attention span could never!

1.) AshEiji (Banana Fish), becuase I'm never not thinking about them. I still have like four unfinished fics in my notes for them.

2.) Hmmm probably Vanitas/Noe from Vanitas no Carte, because vampires! And idiots! And vampire idiots who can't deal with their emotions.

3.) The crossover ship that I just finished publishing on a03, Alice from Alice Madness Returns/P from Lies of P. I captain this ship now! They're both just incredibly interesting on their own, and together, even more interesting to explore!

FAVOURITE COLOURS: Red and Blue but apart from each other, if that makes sense.

CURRENTLY READING: I've just finished The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King; very good, very different voice for him, and very few Kingisms! I'm halfway through The Bell Jar too, but that's harder work...I also started Elle McNicoll's new book, Keedie, because I loved A Kind of Spark. (Yay, autism rep!)

CURRENTLY CONSUMING: pre-cinema Macdonalds

FIRST SHIP: Ahhhh, I have no idea?? I think the first ship I ever wrote for was Soul/Maka from Soul Eater, so maybe them?? Or the Fruits Basket crew??

RELATIONSHIP STATUS: Want a relationship, can't deal with dating apps.

LAST MOVIE: I re-watched Penelope (2007) whilst eating the other night; it's one of my very favourites. Definitely recommend!

CURRENTLY WORKING ON: Officially I should be writing the Indiana Jones has a daughter middlegrade novel for camp nanowrimo but that's not going well lmaoo. Also working on not-AshEiji celebrity AU, and toying around with a fancylad boyprince/tough loyal knight thing that has no plot but big vibes.

(And a KawoShin fic is deffo in the works!)

Columbo and the Knight (1984)

put me in the universe where Columbo ran through the 1980s and had a crossover episode with Knight Rider. I think they deserved it, and I am not just saying that because they're my two favorite Old Shows. @telebeast wrote a little fanfic blurb about it and I HAD to visualize it into a comic (which is also the longest comic I have finished thus far at five pages...), so writing credit goes to them.

i really do think there’s a huge disconnect on here w/ people who have never used tiktok as to what it actually is and who actually uses it. the number of people i’ve seen call it a “teen dancing app” is actually insane. it has not been a teen dancing app since i was in high school, around 2016 - 2020. the main communities i saw on a daily basis were 1) black history/anti-racism educators, 2) high school & college teachers sharing in-classroom strategies and frustrations with the education system, 3) local/state political leaders giving real-time updates on behind-the-scenes government decisions, & 4) community activism & leadership. like tiktok is an adult platform. almost every person i interacted with was my age or older. and yes it completely depends on your fyp and how you interact with the app, yes there’s still teenagers and dance videos and literally anything else you can think of. but these communities of adults aren’t insubstantial at all, they have literally millions of interactions on a daily basis. there’s about a million other types of communities that i could name just off the top of my head, because the range of users was SO diverse and thriving. it’s a long-distance community tool, just like any other social media—and honestly much better than any other social media, because it relies primarily on the kindness of strangers. i saw at least 5-10 videos today of queer people in rural areas panicking because they don’t have any access to queer community on any other platform or in real life. and before i end this i do want to say i think tiktok is coming back, i think this is a highly orchestrated political move, etc., but i do know it won’t ever be exactly the same. people are panicking about free speech violations because tiktok was a place where people fucking SPEAK. i have never seen mass mobilization and communication in this same way for as long as i’ve been alive. it is the people’s app, not just a silly teenage thing. if you’re not on tiktok and never have been, please stop talking about it like you know anything at all😭
