As a Fishman Island Lover I really hate that the main criticism of the arc isn’t about the story (which is great) or the themes (that are really interesting and presented really well imo) it always Sanji related. The criticism is always how weird Sanji acted in it. Like yeah, the shift from simpy lover boy pre-timeskip Sanji to nose bleeding overt pervert post-timeskip Sanji was as subtle as a car accident but it absolutely baffles me that that is the thing that sticks with people the most.

Also people saying he’s such a creep in that arc baffle me because did y’all just forget about Vander Decken the ninth?? Yknow THE ACTUAL FUCKING SLIMEBAG THAT WAS SENDING LOVE LETTERS TO A 6 YEAR OLD SHIRAHOSHI?? BRO IS NEVER BROUGHT UP BUT SANJI WHO WAS FLIRTING WITH ADULT WOMEN WHO WERE RECIPROCAL TO HIS ADVANCES GETS ALL THE LASHINGS?? YALL CANNOT BE SERIOUS PLS LEAVE THAT LITTLE FRENCHMAN ALONEEEE‼️‼️
