'Thus he ended his speech, and he doesn't say That he had wronged or spoken ill of the king, But he prayed that God long keep the king In life, in happiness, [in honour], and in contentment. And when, to the people in attendance, he said, With a steadfast countenance, "Pray for me," With a firm heart he presented his head To the sharp blade that carried it off in one blow. [And not fearing the great cruelty Of the sharp blade [...] Each one seeing that people bore great grief from it] The [three] who had to die afterwards Said nothing, as if they intentionally Had entrusted Rochford Alone to speak for their conscience [...] [The Queen] was still so curious [...] Therefore, they tell her that her brother had shown The greatest strength of any man ever seen [...] The story of the death of Anne Boleyn : a poem by Lancelot de Carle, JoAnn DellaNeva (Translator, Editor, Writer of added commentary)
"'I will,' he said in a good lawyerly fashion, 'not in this point arouse any suspicion which might prejudice the king's issue.' Unwilling to drop his line of questioning, Hales next claimed that George had spread malicious reports which called into question the paternity of Anne's child, Elizabeth. George did not dignify this with an answer. He knew his own sister." Hunting the Falcon, John Guy & Julia Fox
"But George refused to answer the question with the required yes or no, not wishing, he said, “to engender or create suspicion in a matter likely to prejudice the issue the King might have from another marriage.” Nor would he respond to any suggestion that he had spread a rumour that Elizabeth was not Henry’s. The idea that he believed Elizabeth was not the king’s child and that he had repeated such an untruth was, to George, so contemptible that he would not even dignify it with a reply." The Infamous Lady Rochford, Julia Fox
"George Boleyn's real 'crime' was to be Anne Boleyn's brother and Princess Elizabeth's uncle. He was intelligent and spirited enough to mount a powerful defence of his sister. He was powerful enough to provide the focus for Boleyn followers and, especially, those who would assert Elizabeth's rights as heir to the crown." Anne Boleyn, Josephine Wilkinson
#tsf repeated the line of 'george sealed his own fate' which pissed me off...so much#(yes these are screencaps from tsf. don't @ me)#george boleyn#first of all; george's fate was already sealed. so#secondly; i feel like that report from chapuys has been...misinterpreted; possibly?#(unpopular opinion forthcoming): i don't think he repeated what was written on the accusations he was brought#to humiliate henry (although probably this was a bonus)#i think it was more a matter of... he wasn't going to allow them to accuse him of having said something ('not even more replied better')#that they refused to read into the record. and accountability and possibly more a way to give one last blow to cromwell#vis a vis humiliating henry. which is part of why wulfhall was so infuriating#that it was portrayed as cromwell 'tricking' george into doing so.#because the next part (oft omitted which is why i've included it above) is that he won't say anything to impugn the king's issue.#and the NEXT part is to accuse him himself of having spread rumors elizabeth wasn't the king's child#and why would he do that. even his enemies admitted his intelligence#(christopher hales was very closely connected to cromwell and george would've known that if he fucked up it would reflect on cromwell and#thus infuriate henry)#as for his last speech; i wish he was given the credit that anne is given and deserves#which is that his final words were to protect his remaining family#but yeah. so much interesting in de carles. these men being fortified by notcing the crowd was grieving them; not exulting in their ends.

"Mancini, an Italian visitor to England, was concerned for (Edward V and Richard of Shrewsbury's) fate as early as mid July. Well before he left England in that month, the princes, he later wrote, 'were withdrawn into the inner apartments of the Tower and were seen more and more rarely behind the bars and windows, till at length they ceased to appear at all'. Rumours of the princes' deaths were already circulating by the year's end. George Cely reported that he had heard that Edward V might be dead not long after 13 June, and certainly before his uncle claimed the throne. The Crowland chronicler, writing in about 1486, recalled how the rumour arose in September 1483 that 'the princes, by some unknown manner of destruction, had met their fate'. Some early reports went further, stating quite categorically that the princes were no longer alive. Robert Ricart, recorder of Bristol, entered in his Kalendar under the year ending 15 September 1483 that 'in this year the two sons of King Edward were put to silence in the Tower of London'. Shortly after 1485 the anonymous compiler of a genealogy of English kings concluded his work by accusing Richard, with his accomplice Buckingham, of murdering the princes. A London citizen, in some historical notes written before the end of 1488, noted that 'they were put to death in the Tower of London' in the mayoral year ending November 1483. John Rous, writing in 1489, reported that Richard killed the princes within three months of welcoming Edward V at Stony Stratford on 30 April; Richard, he wrote, 'received his lord king Edward V blandly with embraces and kisses, and within three months or a little more he killed him with his brother'. Rumours to similar effect reached France. In a speech to the estates general in 1484 the chancellor of France, Guillaume de Rochefort, reminded his audience how Edward IV s sons had been murdered and the crown seized by the murderer."
-Nigel Saul, "The Three Richards: Richard I, Richard II and Richard III"
*Just to add, Casper Weinrich of Danzig's chronicle at the end of 1483 also states that, "Richard, the King's brother, has put himself in power and crowned in England and he had his brother's children killed" and then in 1485 "King Richard of England, who had had his brother Edward’s children killed, was killed about St. Lawrence Day"

I love how us fansies have unanimously agree that the character dynamic between spot and jack is that they hate each other. Like in one way or another they don’t really see eye to eye. Well, for tonight, folks, i present to you an au where spot and jack do actually like each other (platonically, sorry yeah i’m very adamant with javey and sprace). Let me explain.
What if it was all a joke/facade that they hate each other? Like to fuck with other ppl they start telling the tiniest details abt each other and just go off the rails with it on some raging rant. Or they start making up lies abt each other as a reason to ‘hate’ each other. But it’s all an act. They try their best to one up each other on who can alter each other’s reputation the most, like as a competition at this point. They’re doing a good job individually ngl. Like, yeah, spot is definitely tough and has probably done the criminal acts jack tells everyone, but jack has a way of making it sound worse/over exaggerating it to the point of other newsies fearing him. Hell, even some of the brooklyn newsies are warry of him. But at the brooklyn lodging house, he’s still a good and stern leader with a tender side to his own newsies, especially the younger ones since he knows the little kids need the extra loving and care. And for jack, spot has done a great job of telling ppl how absolutely dumb and unserious he is. It makes ppl wonder how he was able to get picked as leader of the lower manhattan newsies. Sure, he’s a jokester and doesn’t take things too serious for the most part, but jack is actually a very intelligent and quick witted leader. He cares a lot abt his kids and will go to lengths in conjuring plans to keep them safe, happy, and healthy.
It wld be even funnier to think that maybe jack and spot meet up every once in awhile to discuss the latest rumor the other have conjured up abt themselves. The newsies of new york have borough leader meetings every month and every time, without fail, jack and spot wld greet each other like sworn enemies. Sometimes they’d go the lengths of ignoring them but purposely greeting all the other borough leaders. All the other leaders keep an eye on them bcs it seems like they’re abt to start a fight. Little did they know they wld always steal some time before or after the meeting to talk abt the latests rumors.
“You shitting me, kelly? Drowning ppl? That’s not something I’d ever do!”
“Shld’a think twice before you tell ppl i paint ‘left’ and ‘right’ on my hands bcs i keep forgetting. That’s embarrassing!”
It’s all in good fun, and also quite strategic for them individually. Spot was already someone you wldn’t want to fuck with, and his rumors painted his reputation as such. Jack has always been smart but now ppl underestimate him, which makes it easier to trick them in getting what he wants.

Out of all of the people who had orchestrated Anne's downfall, which of them disliked her the most? I'm going with Cromwell.
I mean...to have been participants in this, it's likely they all disliked her, although arguably some of them (Carew, Bryan) hadn't seemed to initially do so, Bryan esp. being the one that seems to have had a good working relationships with her through 1530, at the least...
Chapuys seems to imply it's Carew and Montague leading the faction, at least earliest on. Arguably this must have changed over time, as Edward Seymour is present in an extremely important and politically significant meeting (the attempted Imperial rapprochement of April 1536, which he attended , between Cromwell, HVIII, and Chapuys), and they're not. Although...what reason, arguably, did the Seymours have for especially 'disliking' Anne and/or the Boleyns? Their daughters were promoted to her household. They might have had simmering resentment that another 'minor' noble family had risen so high and secured so much power and influence, but that doesn't really set them apart from many others than likely felt the same way, and it's not quite strong enough of a motivation for...such a conspiracy? If that makes sense.
Cromwell is the only one of these that she's reported as having said she'd "like to see his head off" though, so...yeah, probably him.

Ppl talk about the Gotham kink scene but tbh I think due to political backlash towards Batman catwoman and co. It’d be heavily stigmatized and ppl would prolly see kink as a gateway to whatever freaky shit they get up to so it’s either 0 or 100 over there like there’s no ‘i like a little spanking” NO you’re either getting cut and beaten and burned or u only do missionary. I think in Bludhaven that’s just the norm. Like it’s not even a scene like if you mention ‘oh….I’m into some….non conventional stuff….” They’d be like “yeah so? The sky’s blue asshole” I think they get up to FREAK shit in metropolis but if you say a word….that’s private info bud. But everyone knows about Luther’s dominatrix bodyguard and how ain’t no way Superman was STRUGGLING against ropes for that long puhlease 🙄 all this to say star city is the freakiest city BUT they think they’re normal as hell. Like you will see a st andrews cross in somebody’s living room and if you glance twice at it they’ll be like ‘i knoooow it’s gorgeous and I got such a good deal on it too Lemme text u the info….’ The difference between them and blud is that blud know they’re freaks but they’re chill about it, star is just like that. It’d be weirder to say you’re not into anything in particular tbh. In blud they prolly wouldn’t believe you but in star they’d be like 😨😰😥 okay…….
#fawcett has the CRAZIEST drug scene you’ll ever see#second only to Gotham#but tbh Gothams drug scene is like normal drugs mixed together on a nother level#fawcett has shit you can’t even pronounce#if there was ever a big move from fawcett to Gotham or vice versa….#it would be an overturning of the underground by itself#oooh coast city? I think coast city is genuinely the most uptight but that’s bc they’ve already tried everything if that makes sense#theres a HISTORY in coast city rn they’re chilling till smth REALLY blows their minds#aka we need a fawcett drug lord over there STAT#central city….#im saying their thing is baked goods#like baked baked yknow their heroes get the munchies hella fast#every other store u have to ask if it’s clean#and the answer is prolly no#lmao central citizens report the flash being faster and there’s rumors on if it’s just hero loyalty or proximity#yes and yes but also THEYRE high as fuck#a random nigga could put a yellow shirt on and hand them smth they dropped and they’ll say it’s the flash fr#i looooove talking about the cities and what they mean for the heroes guys#outside of this too#most experience I have rn is Gotham star metropolis and sooome fawcett I have to brush up on#but trust#i think Gotham rogues have ruined rogues galleries for me#not in a good way mainstream fans are just irritating#but the fawcett rogues are hilarioussss#like this is a giant worm#fawcett should always have SLIGHT eah vibes to me#RIP music meister you would’ve KILLED it in fawcett with slight tweaks#also this is not political commentary on anything and how you enjoy ur kinks im sick and bored#and if this is inaccurate….#Im sick🤧😷🤮🥺🥺🥺🥺 and bored 😓😓😓😿😿😿😿🥹🥹🥹😇

I’m like half asleep but I’m thinking about a “bad” god!Gale endgame where a heartbroken Tav is unwilling to just let what they had with Gale go because he’s lost himself. Under the divine veneer, there’s still something of the mortal man left and Tav is going to find a way to bring him back.
Whether he wants to or not.
