For the handful of you around here, I've been particularly quiet on the creation (stories, doodles, commentary) because I gave myself vicious overuse injuries to all the tendons in both arms a week ago by scrubbing pots and pans. Since my day job involves a lot of typing, I have to limit or eliminate all kinds of things I do in my off hours: aerial, writing, drawing, video games.

I'm on the mend, but it'll be another week or two before my tendons are back to normal.

So...

I rarely post personal info about Myself here, at least not in this manner. But, since I'm having right hip replacement surgery early tomorrow morning, I figured I might as well do so, for those that care and for those that look to Me in some capacity (Master, Owner, Trainer).

I'll try to update my condition as I go along, and hopefully, My outcome will be much better than the previous (aborted) attempt at the end of Sept. The surgery is being done to repair the arthritis that's been attacking My hips for the last 3-4 years, but was only discovered in May (it was previously thought to be just sciatica). The pain's been bad, but it's been getting much worse in the last few weeks, waking Me up from sleep every 2-3 hrs and making it extremely difficult to work, let alone take care of Myself and My home personally. The doctor (and most people I've talked to that have had the surgery) said that 2-3 days after, the pain drops precipitously, so I'm hoping that's true.

My sister just arrived, though, and she'll be here for the next week (with the possibility that My brother will come for another week the day before she's due to leave, although that's not confirmed yet.

Also, I wrenched my knee running in the snow last week. I think it will be ok if I just have patience and let it rest for a few days. But it's very hard for me to not run, especially knowing how close I am to race day. I've been trying to do other supplemental workouts instead; pilates, walking, cycling, weight training, and yoga.

"Great," Aquata was, honestly, pretty ready to be done with this conversation. She didn't want to argue with a uni kid. She just hoped her point got across. Amity was, for the most part, a professional. But Aquata could tell how irritated she was with this whole thing, and she related to it.

You should feel it in your abs, not your back or your shoulders. Row to 500 kilometers and let me know when you're done. Any questions?" Aquata stood up again, releasing the handle and letting it retract to its original position.

god the way ghost’s voice drops when he tells soap, “you’ll need to improvise to survive”

before that, everything he says is steady but when he acknowledges that soap’ll have to do something outside his skill set, something he intimately knows to be difficult, his voice wavers. he does the same when he says, “welcome to guerrilla warfare”; it’s sombre and serious in a way he doesn’t act for the rest of the mission. if you read into it enough, he almost sounds apologetic; like he knows exactly what soap’s about to go through and wishes he didn’t have to

he keeps soap going; poking at him and making jokes, giving him tips and asking about his progress. he never lets him stop and take a second to think bc he knows the moment he does is the moment it'll all hit him; the betrayal, the pain, the fear, the deaths, all of it will drown him and if that happens, soap won't make it

he needs him to be a soldier through and through and he knows this is one of the worst kinds of battlefields you could end up on

and the only times he slips is when he acknowledges that fact

it happens again when he says, "tryin' to get you here alive and in one piece". his jovial dark humour facade drops for just a moment when he has to face the potential reality of losing soap. then he tries to pick it back up again with, "one of us has to survive to tell the tale"; completely discounting himself as a survivor to try and rally soap and make him think it’s all down to him

and soap does the same thing

when he's calling out for ghost on the radio, he's tentative, testing the frequency, then when he doesn’t get a response, he grows desperate; "ghost, this is 7-1, do you copy?"

then when ghost answers, he smooths out his voice; he hides the pain, the fear, and no matter what response you give to ghost asking if he’s injured, soap brushes it off (“i’m good”, “what’s the difference?”, “i’m not a medic”). soap decides it’s in ghost’s best interest to hide the extent of his injuries

he doesn’t know where ghost is, if he’s secure, if he has any weapons; he doesn’t even know if he’s in las almas until he says, “there’s a church, i’m headed to it”. for all he knows, he could’ve run in the complete opposite direction. if ghost knows he’s hurt, then his attention would be split between his own survival and soap’s

and soap, who lets himself be poked and prodded towards the church, needs to hide his own doubts. maybe he needs ghost to believe he'll make it so he himself can believe it ("what are my odds?" "don't make me bet against you", "think i'll live that long?" "probably not")

he all but begs ghost to tell him he'll get through it and if he knows just how bad off he is, maybe he'll change his mind. maybe he'll think he won't make it to the church

maybe he'll leave him alone for good

Mirabel's eyes went wide. She probably shouldn't have been surprised— this was a classic ASM duty, filling in for the cast when they couldn't make it to rehearsal. But she hadn't been ASM in a minute, so she'd kind of forgotten about that.

"Oh- you mean me," Mirabel said, finally catching on. She chuckled. "Um, okay. Yeah, I guess I can do that. Just for rehearsals, right?"

Maybe it would even be kind of fun. Mirabel was not coordinated enough to pull off a full performance, but she knew all the blocking from rehearsal. She was pretty sure she could get up there and replicate it. See a need, fill a need, right? That was the stage management motto.

Hey guys, I’m sorry i went total radio silence for the past week or so and I just wanted to say in advance that I’m 100% fine and I walked out of it all unscathed. With that out of the way, I just survived a house fire and, on the very next day, I came across a stray dog with the GNARLIEST injury I’ve ever seen in my life and dropped everything to rescue her so life has been a little hectic lately lol

do you think rosquez in their toxic era would cheat on each other (Debatable if they had a non toxic era). i mean in their toxic era they are probably not together together (lol if they even define the relationship) but you know like, spiritually cheat on each other in the sense that one goes and fucks some random thinking about how mad the other will be the whole time.
